We are busy growing and learning and becoming big boys in our house lately. After a period of time

We are busy growing and learning and becoming big boys in our house lately. After a period of time in which they didn’t really seem to add anything new to their repertoire of skills the boys have suddenly seemed to blossom.

Dean is starting to make his first attempts at recognizable language. The other day I stayed late at work and Nathan picked the boys up and brought them home. When I got home Dean was so excited when he saw me and started saying, “Hiiiiii De” over and over. It was clear he was saying “Hi Dean” which he hears us say to him all the time. It is beyond cute! He has now extended this to “Hi Da” or “Hi Dada”. Anyone and everyone is De or Dada! He loves saying it and walks around the house saying Hi all the time now.

Dean has also decided he would like to clap again. This isn’t the first time he has clapped. He started clapping a very long time ago and then quit. Then he started again and quit again. Now he claps again but will clap on demand or if he is happy or excited or if he wants to let you know he likes something. Another sign of clear communication!

Emory on the other hand has never clapped and still doesn’t. But he has mastered his own new skill. He is a climber and practices his climbing at every possible chance. He can climb onto the sofa unaided now and loves to climb up and down over and over again. It is funny to watch him throw his leg up on the couch and push up on his toes with his other foot as he pulls as hard as he can with his hands.

They love being outside now. Which, as we move into the winter months, will probably frustrate them. Dean is still the more cautious of the two but once he is comfortable he tends to be very adventurous. Emory has no fear and takes off to try everything. Well, I say he has no fear. But there are moments when he is very shy and clingy. There doesn’t seem to be a rhyme or reason to his fears. They suddenly show up and we deal with them as they do.

Overall they are happy and healthy and loved deeply. I look forward to the next few months as they increase the ability to communicate and learn some words. I look forward to them eating more table food. I look forward to laughing and playing and growing right along with them!

Do you want to make money with adsense? Well, first of all you’ll need to sign up as a publish

Do you want to make money with adsense? Well, first of all you’ll need to sign up as a publisher so Google can send you your earnings every month. Once you are approved as a publisher you will be able to monetize your sites with adsense providing they comply with Google’s terms of service.

Here are 5 steps you can follow to make money with adsense:

1) Choose A High Paying Niche – What I recommend you do here is choose a niche that has an upper range above a dollar and a lower range no lower than 50 cents. This is the amount the advertisers pay and you will be receiving a percentage of the revenue that Google charges.

2) Do Keyword Research – You will then need to do keyword research and pick out a number of keywords to build pages around for this site. You want your site pages to be well themed, so take care to choose keywords that are both relevant and don’t have so much competition that you have no chance of ranking for them in the search engines.

3) Build Your Site – You can either choose a site building tool or use a html editor to do this. You will also need a template so you can populate the site with content and include menu navigation on a side panel.

4) Promote Your Site – I recommend you use a mixture of directory submissions, article marketing, bookmarking and getting links from sites in your niche. At this stage don’t monetize your site with Adsense. Hold off until the site is indexed and getting traffic from the search engines and your other promotion efforts.

5) Optionally Flip Your Site – This is where you can take things to the next level. Once your site is matured and steadily earning, consider selling your site and using that cash to fund making more sites. You will make more money from 5 sites than you will from one, so if cashflow is an issue consider this step to ramp up your earnings over the long term.

To make things clear, as some of the material you’ll find here is very light-hearted, this is

To make things clear, as some of the material you’ll find here is very light-hearted, this is an actual news report. All quotes are original. I welcome comments below.

Gay Christians Criticise ‘Hate’ Bill

Dan Bloom

Senior gay and transgender Christians have attacked a pro-discrimination law which was defeated four times in the House of Commons and criticised by the European commission.

The clause, which allows “criticism of sexual conduct” on religious grounds, was kept in the Coroners and Justice Bill in the dying hours of the last parliamentary session despite being defeated in the House of Commons. Justice minister Jack Straw retreated after lords voted to keep it for the fourth time on 11 November.

But the comments from within the UK’s gay Christian community put pressure on the mainstream church, after the European commission wrote to the government last week to say its discrimination laws were “broader than permitted”, effectively forcing churches to end bans on homosexual staff.

Pastor Kieren Bourne of the Living Springs church, Bath, had a sex change operation in 1999 and is part of a small minority of gay or transgender Christians in the UK. He said: “I think it’s appalling. It seems to me that the church is being allowed to get away with discrimination when every other section of society is not.”

Brought up in New Zealand, Rev Bourne, 51, moved to Bath 14 years ago but was surprised by what he perceived as a less liberal atmosphere in the mainstream church. He joined Living Springs, a branch of the 95 per cent gay Metropolitan Community Church (MCC).

“Having the opportunity to question the appropriateness of [gay sex] should be open to people, but without being critical of the individuals concerned.”

-Patrick Whitworth, rural dean of Bath

Now living with a woman in Bathford, Avon, he said the pressure put on gay Christians by employment bans and discrimination leaves many feeling forced out of the mainstream church, and into organisations like the MCC.

And although the minority church, which was founded in 1968, holds tri-annual conferences – the next is in Acapulco, Mexico next year – it does not have the same political weight as other organisations. It has fewer than 15 churches in the UK and the Bath branch has only 13 full-time members.

One of these, Bill Fraser, has been a full-time churchwarden in Bath for five years. He first contacted the MCC last year after announcing his sexuality at an annual parish meeting. But he stayed in the mainstream church to “fight from the inside”, following the example of controversial gay American bishop Gene Robinson.

Another, 64-year-old lay delegate Jenny Bailey, was a long-time member of the Church of England when she began attending the MCC. She revealed her sexuality to her vicar in 1997, and said his hostile reception made her feel pressured to leave.

She said: “I did not feel my personal preferences were relevant inside the church. He said they were. He seemed to think I was going to walk in holding hands with another woman.

“Just a few weeks after that I had a serious accident and broke my ankle into about seven or eight pieces. Nobody phoned to check up and see how I was. I thought, ‘Why am I kidding myself?’. They didn’t want me.”

“I did not feel my personal preferences were relevant inside the church. My vicar said they were.”

-Jenny Bailey, lay delegate, Metropolitan Community Church

But Ms Bailey, who was married for more than 22 years before realising she was gay in her 40s, also issued words of caution about restricting free speech. She said: “I want it for myself, so why should I not want it for other people? It’s up to them, and it’s their personal opinion. But they should not be able to impose it on me.”

While the MCC argues anti-homosexual readings of the bible do not reflect its meaning, the mainstream church in Bath is more traditional.

The Church of England rural dean of Bath, Patrick Whitworth, said: “From the church’s point of view it is not God’s view. So having the opportunity to question the appropriateness of it should be open to people, but without being critical of the individuals concerned.”

Meanwhile a group hosted by the MP Clare Short will meet at the Commons this Tuesday to campaign against similar clauses in the Equality Bill drawn up by Harriet Harman, Labour’s deputy leader.

The bill is designed to ensure greater equality between people of different gender, race, religion and social class. But the group argues religious ‘opt-out’ clauses could be added as the bill progresses to the House of Lords.

Newsflash: An ‘F’ is really, really bad.

But that’s exactly the grade that the dean of one of our nation’s premier medical schools just assigned to ObamaCare.

Dr. Flier points out that the 2,074 page bill isn’t just bad; it is fundamentally dishonest.

Only a true fool and ideologue would support the takeover of our life-and-death health care system and 1/6th of our economy through a bill that literally gets a failing grade.

NOVEMBER 17, 2009, 6:59 P.M. ET

Health ‘Reform’ Gets a Failing Grade
The changes proposed by Congress will require more draconian measures down the road. Just look at Massachusetts.

By JEFFREY S. FLIER

As the dean of Harvard Medical School I am frequently asked to comment on the health-reform debate. I’d give it a failing grade.

Instead of forthrightly dealing with the fundamental problems, discussion is dominated by rival factions struggling to enact or defeat President Barack Obama’s agenda. The rhetoric on both sides is exaggerated and often deceptive. Those of us for whom the central issue is health—not politics—have been left in the lurch. And as controversy heads toward a conclusion in Washington, it appears that the people who favor the legislation are engaged in collective denial.

Our health-care system suffers from problems of cost, access and quality, and needs major reform. Tax policy drives employment-based insurance; this begets overinsurance and drives costs upward while creating inequities for the unemployed and self-employed. A regulatory morass limits innovation. And deep flaws in Medicare and Medicaid drive spending without optimizing care.

Speeches and news reports can lead you to believe that proposed congressional legislation would tackle the problems of cost, access and quality. But that’s not true. The various bills do deal with access by expanding Medicaid and mandating subsidized insurance at substantial cost—and thus addresses an important social goal. However, there are no provisions to substantively control the growth of costs or raise the quality of care. So the overall effort will fail to qualify as reform.

In discussions with dozens of health-care leaders and economists, I find near unanimity of opinion that, whatever its shape, the final legislation that will emerge from Congress will markedly accelerate national health-care spending rather than restrain it. Likewise, nearly all agree that the legislation would do little or nothing to improve quality or change health-care’s dysfunctional delivery system. The system we have now promotes fragmented care and makes it more difficult than it should be to assess outcomes and patient satisfaction. The true costs of health care are disguised, competition based on price and quality are almost impossible, and patients lose their ability to be the ultimate judges of value.

Worse, currently proposed federal legislation would undermine any potential for real innovation in insurance and the provision of care. It would do so by overregulating the health-care system in the service of special interests such as insurance companies, hospitals, professional organizations and pharmaceutical companies, rather than the patients who should be our primary concern.

In effect, while the legislation would enhance access to insurance, the trade-off would be an accelerated crisis of health-care costs and perpetuation of the current dysfunctional system—now with many more participants. This will make an eventual solution even more difficult. Ultimately, our capacity to innovate and develop new therapies would suffer most of all.

There are important lessons to be learned from recent experience with reform in Massachusetts. Here, insurance mandates similar to those proposed in the federal legislation succeeded in expanding coverage but—despite initial predictions—increased total spending.

A “Special Commission on the Health Care Payment System” recently declared that the Massachusetts health-care payment system must be changed over the next five years, most likely to one involving “capitated” payments instead of the traditional fee-for-service system. Capitation means that newly created organizations of physicians and other health-care providers will be given limited dollars per patient for all of their care, allowing for shared savings if spending is below the targets. Unfortunately, the details of this massive change—necessitated by skyrocketing costs and a desire to improve quality—are completely unspecified by the commission, although a new Massachusetts state bureaucracy clearly will be required.

Yet it’s entirely unclear how such unspecified changes would impact physician practices and compensation, hospital organizations and their capacity to invest, and the ability of patients to receive the kind and quality of care they desire. Similar challenges would eventually confront the entire country on a more explosive scale if the current legislation becomes law.

Selling an uncertain and potentially unwelcome outcome such as this to the public would be a challenging task. It is easier to assert, confidently but disingenuously, that decreased costs and enhanced quality would result from the current legislation.

So the majority of our representatives may congratulate themselves on reducing the number of uninsured, while quietly understanding this can only be the first step of a multiyear process to more drastically change the organization and funding of health care in America. I have met many people for whom this strategy is conscious and explicit.

We should not be making public policy in such a crucial area by keeping the electorate ignorant of the actual road ahead.

Dr. Flier is dean of the Harvard Medical School.

I’d like to thank Dr. Flier for his courageous stand. You’ve GOTTA know that the man is taking a lot of heat for it by the hard-core Massachusetts and Harvard liberal ideologue establishment. Dr. Flier clearly isn’t taking this position on the Democrats’ health agenda for his own health, as it were.

Capitation would merely be the most obvious way that the government would place doctors in a morally/ethically untenable position: they would literally be paid more to give their patients less treatment, and paid less to give their patients more treatment.

Another means of accomplishing the same result would be to have – oh, I don’t know, say 111 federal bureaucracies – which would force doctors to consider their regulations more than considering the needs of their patients.

It is evil. And Democrats are evil for foisting this abomination upon us.

Perfectly combined with a classic white tee and his “My First Selvedge” jeans from Blue Blood. We think he probably looks even cooler than many of us here in the office.

But hey what else, if your mom is Glamour’s fashion editor Jetteke van Lexmond and your dad “Alex too cool for school Jaspers” International sales director here at Blue Blood.

We say, moms keep your daughters in when lil’ Dean will start riding his bike!

Its been a long week. I don’t think a 9-5 career is the way forward for me. I need to sue someone and win millions or something so that I can be a lazy bum the whole day. Thats always fun. And fulfilling

Anyway I thought that I would start posting some of my favourite videos every Friday because its easy because I thought it would be a nice tradition and something to look forward to choosing during the week. Not that I watch that many videos on YouTube and people don’t even send them to me anymore because I whined too much about my crappy internet (which by the way is super-fast between 3-5am, maybe I should take advantage of that more and stop being a bitch ass nigga haha).

SO, since the first one had to be 76 different kinds of awesome, here’s a video of DEAN from Supernatural (or Jensen Ackles, I guess since he’s out of character) lip-syncing to Eye of the Tiger. Its awesome. And if you don’t already watch Supernatural, you really should.

Just X the ads, they’re really annoying but YouTube wouldn’t let me embed. BOOO YouTube. Also, totally edited Metacafe’s plea for you to “Click for more videos”, hope they don’t sue me so they can spend their lives bumming around on my millions (YEAH RIGHT).

ETA: WordPress for some reason won’t embed the video (FAIL!!) so just click the first link to see the video.

Supernatural Jensen Ackles – Eye of the Tiger – Dean Winchester – Half man, half amazing

In other news, I’m thinking of cutting out or at least minimising some words from my vocabulary. Haha, three guesses as to which word goes first..

Be good in the hood. And another Kanye pic, last one I swear!!

Maybe I should start doing polls also, and my loyal reader (!) can vote on it. Monday polls?? Yay or nay??

With lots of fun and cultural things to do and see. (FYI that statue, the Manneken Pis is one of the most cultural and famous things here, I’m not just being a weird pervert. There’s a girl statue also but she’s soooo ugly. and evil. I hate her. )

I don’t know what though, because I spend all my time working, watching Supernatural (DEAN!!), or (and this is best of all after watching <strike> Dean </strike> SUPERNATURAL) window shopping on Amazon.

Amazon is amazing.

Now I totally wish I was one of those people with a million readers so that Amazon would pay me for my virtual endorsement… Although I would take Delivery Charges discount instead of actual pay, I miss being able to qualify for FREE Delivery if I order before 3 o Clock or whatever.

And apparently Diet Coke gives you cancer. (haha excellent endorsement). And Airwaves, which FYI aren’t sold in Belgium. Might have to get a dealer from France or something.

Products/companies I will ACTIVELY De-ENDORSE:
