Similar to Kaws Aka Brian Donnely or Ron English, taking on a propaganda spin on culture, he literally takes the heads of the idols of our culture!

Ce que j’aime de l’art, c’est quand il ne se fait pas prier ni inviter mais qu’il s’impose dans la rue avec les moyens du bord, et que le grand public assiste impuissant  à cette manifestation artistique.

Il y a environ un an, un artiste londonien  avait frappé dans les rues de Londres et de Paris.

Son nom: The Decapitator

Sa signature: décapiter les têtes de différentes affiches publicitaires

Le résultat?

Il a même posté un vidéo sur sa démarche artistique. Il s’agit d’un de ses plus grand fait d’armes. Le piratage d’un quotidien. À voir.

Vous avez sûrement vu le film La chute avec Bruno Ganz,  film retraçant les derniers moments d’Hitler. La fameuse scène ou Hitler se rend compte qu’il est vaincu et qu’il vient de perdre la guerre a été parodié des dizaines de fois avec des sujets différents :  Hitler se fait bannir de XBOX Live et perd tous ses points,  Hitler se fait voler sa voiture, Hitler perd le superbowl, etc etc. Voici la dernière en date: Hitler est pogné dans le conflit du Journal de Montréal !

Spotted this outide The Foundry near Old Street yesterday. It’s a full size lenticular poster showing The Decapitator doing his stuff with a Moet & Chandon ad. Here’s what you see as you walk past. Brilliant! Makes those stencil-monkeys look soooooooo last decade. Go and have a look before someone tries to remove it.

My favourite secret squirrel, the Shoreditch Decapitaor, is back doing what he does best. This was taken on Great Eastern Street this morning, on the way to work…

East London’s very own friendly ad-murderer is wanting to move beyond merely defacing posters. His new ambition is to decapitate a TV ad. And I’m right behind him.

I love The Decapitator’s stuff. So I was pretty happy to come across one of his latest pieces under a bridge on Old Street. He’s beautifully defaced a couple of UNIQLO posters. And in a much more sophisticated way than this. Lovely.

Some things scare the waking shit out of commuters.

Improv Everywhere do lots of those things, including this recent stunt in Prague.

Transplant a living room onto the rush hour subway and something happens. Groggy bystanders get a little less comfortable. You’ve broken down the cosy, walled-in world of iPod shuffling and free paper flicking.

Do I want a free paper? No thanks. But chances are I’ll have to sit on one when I next board a tube in London.

The Decapitator has been lopping free papers off at the head to help save your ass. David Beckham and Motorola get the treatment here and, once again, commuters get a loud wake up call. (Thanks to Giles for the link.)

Trata-se de um inglês que sai pelas ruas de Londres DECAPITANDO pessoas/personagens em cartazes espalhados pela cidade. Intervenção na veia! Ou melhor, na Jugular!

Como podem reparar, é tudo premeditado. O cara prepara as decapitações para encaixarem perfeitamente nos cartazes, depois vai lá e manda ver!

O artista altera fotografias usadas em propagandas de grandes empresas, removendo a cabeça e colando sobre a foto

original uma imagem semelhante, só que decaptada, deixando apenas um ossinho de fora.

Our friendly neighbourhood ad-butcher has been at it again. On Wednesday he did a stunt at Old Street underground where he swiped a load of copies of the London Paper, sliced the head off an ad with David Beckham and re-distributed them. Here’s a video of the whole prank.

I have this strange feeling this bloke works in advertising during the day and comes out to decapitate them at night…

There’s this guy called “Decapitator” who goes around vandalising street ads to make the people appear as if they had their heads cut off.

I particularly like the subtle one he did on a particular ugly looking BEE and the other one featuring the super annoying High School Musical kids.

If the joker tries to pull this off in Singapore, he/she is going to get a taste of the rotan just like a certain Michael Fay. Vandalism is frowned upon in Singapore and dealt with very seriously.

Kids – if you live in Singapore, please don’t try this. If you insist, then jolly well make sure you don’t ever get caught!

I think a clever word-of-advice would be to avoid the government ads especially.
