ஜோன் கொலகியின் குடும்பத்தினரும் ஐக்கிய நாடுகளின் அதிகாரிகளும் பாக். சிறைகளில் சித்திரவதைக்குள்ளாகும் எங்கள் தோழர்களின் அவல நிலையை எண்ணிப் பார்க்க வேண்டும் எனவும் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.

ஆனால் அமெரிக்க அரசாங்கமோ பாகிஸ்தான் பயங்கரவாதத்தை வளர்த்து வருவதுடன் அவர்களுக்கான உதவிகளை வழங்கி வருவதாக குற்றம் சாட்டியிருக்கிறது. ஆப்கானிஸ்தானிலும் பாகிஸ்தானிலும் நடைபெற்று வருகின்ற தாக்குதல்கள் அப்பிராந்தியத்தை அமைதியற்ற நிலைக்கு கொண்டு சென்றுள்ளது. அத்துடன் வேறு வழியில்லாது போராளிகளுக்கெதிரான தாக்குதல்களை நடத்த வேண்டிய சூழலையும் உரு வாக்கியிருக்கிறது.
இதற்கிடையில் பாகிஸ்தானில் ஏற்பட்டிருக்கும் அரசியல் குளறுபடிகளை சாதகமாகப் பயன்படுத்தி கராச்சியை தாக்க தலிபான்கள் திட்டமிட்டிருப்பதாகவும் தகவல்கள் வெளியாகியிருக்கின்றன.
பாகிஸ்தான் முழுவதும் பயங்கரவாதிகள் செல்வாக்கு ஓங்கி வருகிறது எனவும் இது நாட்டின் பொருளாதாரத் தலைநகரான கராச்சியை குறிவைக்கும் பட்சத்தில் தலிபான் ராஜ்யம் வந்துவிடும் என்ற கருத்து வெளியிடப்பட்டிருந்தது. இந் நிலையில் செவ்வாய்க்கிழமை நடைபெற்ற தாக்குதல் அச்சத்தினை இன்னமும் அதிகரித்திருப்பதாகவே கொள்ள முடிகிறது.
அண்மையில் நடைபெற்ற பேச்சுக்களில் பாகிஸ்தான் எல்லைப் பகுதியான வஸிரிஸ்தானில் தலிபான்களின் ஆதரவுத் தரப்பினரின் சட்ட திட்டம் அமுலுக்கு வந்திருக்கிறது. அதேபோல் தலைநகர் இஸ்லாமாபாத் மற்றும் ராவல்பிண்டி நகரிலும் தலிபான் ஆதரவு பெற்ற அமைப்பினர் செல்வாக்குப் பெற்று வருகின்றனர். இந்தியாவின் மும்பையில் நடைபெற்ற தாக்குதல் போன்று சிலர் சிறப்பாகத் திட்டமிட்டு ஆயுதங்களுடன் புகுந்தால் நாட்டில் விபரீதம் அரங்கேறி விடும் என்று கவலை வெளியிடப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.        
நவாஸ் ஷெரீப் மற்றும் ஆளும் அதிபர் சர்தாரிக்கு இடையே கருத்து வேறுபாடு இருப்பதும், மறுபக்கம் இராணுவத் தலைமையை வைத்திருக்கும் அஷ்பாக் கயானி தலிபான் ஆதரவு தரப்பினருக்கு ஆதரவானவாக இருப்பதாலும் பாகிஸ்தானில் ஜனநாயகத்திற்கு அபாயத்தைக் கொண்டு வரலாம் என்றே சொல்லப்படுகிறது.
நவாஸ் ஷெரீப்பை தேர்தல் அரசியலில் இருந்து நீதிமன்றம் ஒதுக்கியிருப்பதால், தலிபான் ஆதரவு தரப்பினர் சுலபமாக செல்வாக்கு பெற வாய்ப்பை ஏற்படுத்தியிருப்பதாக பாகிஸ்தானின் உளவுத்துறை தெரிவித்திருக்கிறது.
எல்லைப் பகுதியில் தலிபான்களுடன் மோதலை அதிகம் விரும்பாத இராணுவம் தற்போது கராச்சியிலும், ஏனைய முக்கிய நகரங்களிலும் தலிபான்கள் செல்வாக்கு பெறுவதை கண்டுகொள்ளவில்லை என்ற கருத்தையும் உளவுப் பிரிவு தெரிவித்திருக்கிறது.
நிலைமை இவ்வாறிருக்க நடைபெற்றுவரும் அரசியல் குழப்பமும் பாதுகாப்பு நெருக்கடிகளும் பாகிஸ்தானில் இரு இராணுவ ஆட்சிக்குள் கொண்டு செல்வதற்கான வாய்ப்புகளையும் அதிகப்படுத்துவதாக கொள்ள முடியும்.
முஷாரப்பின் இராணுவ ஆட்சியின் கீழ் இருந்த பாகிஸ்தான் ஜனநாயக வழிக்கு வந்திருக்கும் வேளையில் பிரச்சினைகள் பெருக்கத் தொடங்கியிருக்கின்றன. டாகூரியில் தாக்குதல் நடந்துள்ளதையடுத்து பாக். தொலைக்காட்சி ஒன்றுக்குப் பெட்டியளித்துள்ள சர்தாரி பயங்கரவாதத்துக்கெதிரான நடவடிக்கைகள் கடுமையாக்கப்படுவதுடன் முடிவுக்கும் கொண்டுவரப்படும் எனத் தெரிவித்திருக்கிறார்.
அமெரிக்கா, ஆப்கானிஸ்தான், பாகிஸ்தான் ஆகிய மூன்று நாடுகளும் இணைந்து பயங்கரவாதத்துக்கெதிரான தாக்குதால்களைத் தொடங்கினால் மிகவும் சிக்லான நிலைக்கு தலிபான்கள் தள்ளப்படுவார்கள் என்றே கூறலாம்.
உலகளவில் உள்ள இஸ்லாமிய அமைப்புக்கள் எல்லாம் இப்போது அல் கொய்தா அமைப்பினருடன் தொடர்புகளை ஏற்படுத்தி வருகின்றனர். அல் கொய்தாவின் கூற்றான இஸ்லாத்துக்கெதிரான தாக்குதல்களை நடத்துபவர்களுக்கு எதிரான தாக்குதல் என்பதே அனைத்து போராளி அமைப்புகளினதும் கூற்றாக மாறிவருக்கிறது.
உலகளவில் உள்ள இஸ்லாமியர்களை ஒன்று திரட்டி மேற்குலகத்தினருக்கெதிராக நடவடிக்கைகளில் ஈடுபடுதல் என்பதே அல் கொய்தாவின் குறிக்கோளாக இருக்கிறது. அதன் காரணமாக ஏற்பட்டுவருகின்ற இழப்புகளும் அழிவுகளும் அதிகமானவைகளாகவே இருக்கின்றன.
பயங்கரவாதம், பொருளாதாரம், மனித உரிமைகள், வர்த்தகம் என உலகில் முக்கியப்படுத்தப்படும் அனைத்துத் துறைகளிலும் நமக:குத் தெரிந்தோ தெரியாமலோ பேசியாக வேண்டிய நாடாக அமெரிக்கா அமைந்திருக்கிறது. அதனை விடுத்து எதனையும் செய்ய முடியாது என்ற நிலைமை ஏற்பட்டிருக்கிறது. பயங்கரவாதம் என்ற சொல்லை அமெரிக்கா மோசமாகப் பயன்படுத்தத் தொடங்கியது செப். 11 தாக்குதலுக்குப் பின்னரேயாகும்.
அல் கொய்தா அமைப்பு அமெரிக்காவினால் ஆப்காகிஸ்தானில் உருவாக்கப்பட்டதேயாகும் வேண்டியபோது பயன்படுத்திவிட்டு வேண்டாத போது வீசி விடுவதற்கு அமெரிக்கா பலரை பல அமைப்புக்களை பல நாடுகளைப் பயன்படுத்தியிருக்கிறது. அதில் ஒருவர்தான் அல் கொய்தா அமைப்பின் தலைவர் ஒசாமா பின் லேடன் ஆயுதங்களும் பயிற்சிகளும் வழங்கிய அமெரிக்கா அவரை இப்போது கொல்ல முடியாது என்ற இயலாமை நிலைக்கு வந்திருக்கிறது.
ஆப்கானிஸ்தானின் எல்லையிலுள்ள மலைப்பகுதியில் தான் அவர் மறைந்திருப்பதாக பல தடைவைகள் தகவல்கள் வெளியிடப்பட்ட போதும் அவரை இன்னமும் கைது செய்யவோ கொன்று விடவோ முடியாதிருக்கிறது. ஒசாமாவின் நோக்கமாக அமெரிக்காவுக்கு ஆதரவான இலக்குகளைத் தாக்குவது இருந்து வருகிறது.
இந்நிலை தொடர்ந்த வண்ணமிருக்கையில் பாகிஸ்தானின் டாகூரியில் இலங்கை கிரிக்கட்ட அணியினர் மீது தாக்குதுல் நடத்தப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. இந்தத் தாக்குதலுக்கு பாகிஸ்தான் என்ற நாட்டைக் குழப்புவது மாத்திரம் காரணமாக இருக்க வாய்ப்பிருக்காது. நாட்டுக்குள் நடக்கும் தாக்குதல்களினால் தமது பலம் வெளியில் தெரிவதாக இல்லை. அதனால் வெளிநாட்டு ஆதிக்கம் பெற்ற இலக்கு ஒன்றின் மீது தாக்குதலை நடத்துவதன் மூலம் பாகிஸ்தானில் உள்ள அமைதியின்மை நிலைமையை வெளிக்காட்டுவதே நோக்கமாயிருக்க வேண்டும்.
இவ்வாறான நடவடிக்கை மூலம் தாக்குதல் நடத்தியவர்கள் தங்களது நோக்கத்தை நிறைவேற்றிக் கொண்டுள்ளதாகவே கொள்ளமுடியும். பாக். உளவுத் துறையின் கருத்தின் படி நாட்டின் அமைதியின்னை இஸ்திரமின்மையைப் பயன்படுத்தி அதிகாரத்திற்குள் வர தலிபான்கள் மேற்கொள்ளும் நடவடிக்கையாகவே இலங்கை அணியினர் மீதான தாக்குதலைப் பார்க்க முடிகிறது.
எது எப்படியானாலும் பாகிஸ்தானில் இலங்கை அணியியனர் மீது மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்ட தாக்குதலானது உலகளவில் பெரும் பரபரப்பினையும் விளையாட்டுத் துறையில் அச்சத்தையும் தோற்றுவித்திருக்கிறது. இதன் மூலம் பாக். தனது நாட்டில் பயங்கரவாதத்துக் கெதிரான நடவடிக்கைகளை உறுதியுடன் தீவிரப்படுத்த வேண்டிய கட்டாயத்தை இப்போது எதிர் கொண்டிருக்கிறது.

Politics. So many of us are just sick of it. Neither candidate has been telling the whole truth. Neither of them has a perfect voting record. Both of them love to sling mud. Its part of the job. One has to wonder, though, if being in the position of a presidential candidate requires such, let call it cruelty, and a heartlessness that you can publically attack another in front of millions, what else must that person have done to be in that position? Did they have to lie? Cheat? Break IRS tax codes and commit mass corporate deceptions? I’m sure that they did. You can’t get all the way to the top without stepping on a few toes.

He taxes too much. If you vote for him you’ll be homeless. If you vote for the other one, your children will starve. But if you vote for the first guy, they’ll lose all their education and become stupid rejects, begging for day-old scraps behind the ghetto bakery. But the other guy will take your job. And the other one will tax your new raise so you actually come home with $5 less every week. One of them will date your mom. The other will shut down her nursing home. One will have dinner with terrorists at Arby’s while the other just sends him a check at Christmas, even though they don’t celebrate Christmas.

Here’s what I’m saying: There are bigger issues than whose face is on the front page. Every day 6000 kids are killed by mid-term or later abortion. They refuse to allow Bibles in schools, so Christian parents teach home school, allowing their children to learn math and moral values at the same time. While the schools are taking a massive dump when it comes to value and ethics and crime and teaching self-worth, the state of California just outlawed Christians from their God-given right to teach their own kids. Now they have to send them to the cesspool of a school that will teach anti-creation science, thereby infringing on the rights of students to practice their own religion freely (but don’t worry, they won’t attack Muslims, Buddhists, atheists, agnostics, pagans, wiccans, Scientologists, etc. Just the Christians.)

Let’s see, what else? Lets talk about gay marriage. I’m all for gays to have the right to choose their lifestyle- its their choice. (Just like my kids schooling used to be.) But I’m not for the whole gay-marriage thing. Sure, they can practice it, but that doesn’t really make it a marriage. I know, I know, they’ve redefined what “marriage” is, but it used to be a union before God between a man and a woman. Since most homosexuals don’t believe in or care for God, they can’t really have a union before Him that He will honor. But, what they hey, they ignored my right to practice my faith (only if it’s from the Christian Bible) by ignoring the 1^st amendment, why not ignore the other principals too.

So who is going to do what to help me out? Am I personally going to benefit from either party being elected? Maybe, but probably not. There aren’t a whole lot of things that are going to actually make a difference in the way I daily live my life. I could be wrong, but here’s how I look at it:

If one side is accused of overtaxing and the other of allowing abortions, I will sacrifice a couple bucks, even a couple hundred, per year to vote for the sanctity of life.

If one side is accused of sending jobs overseas and the other of limiting free speech, I’m probably going to have to go for free speech. There will always be a need for jobs on the US. They may not be the best, but we have too many people not to need a ton of jobs. We also have a lot of politicians going after free speech, even though the ones attacked are the churches and the right. Hmm.

If one side wants to build a thousand mile fence at the borders and the other wants to let gays marry, I will go for the fence. Those guys are great climbers and if they can get in through, over or under a military fence, then they deserve to stay. For those that can’t, they can still come here, but have to go through the legal process. Meanwhile, I stand up for what I believe regarding gay marriage. I’m not anti-gay, but I’m not pro-gay. I’m just ok-gay; they can do their thing, but I don’t want tax dollars going toward something I find immoral.

Bottom line, I can’t do anything about the politicians. But, then again, I will probably never have to answer to them. I will, however, have to answer to God. I will stand before Him and be able to say that I voted for the things and the principles that are on His side, His Law, and His eternal purpose. I will say that I stood up for hundreds of thousands of innocent children and supported their right to life. I will say that I voted against the activity that led to His destroying Sodom and Gomorrah, the activities that He calls an abomination. I will be able to say that I stood up for His Word, His teaching, for the right to exhibit by faith, to speak freely the gospel. I will say, “Jesus, I stood up for you.”

What do you stand for?

The Kenyan government on October 7, 2008, essentially kidnapped a reporter. The reporter is World Net Daily senior staff writer Jerome “Jerry” Corsi. Corsi was scheduled to deliver damning evidence on both US presidential hopeful Barack Obama and his cousin, Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

At nearly 10 a.m. Corsi was entering his hotel, the Grand Regency Hotel in Nairobi, Kenyan, where the press conference was to take place, when he was ambushed by immigration officers.

“He was walking in and then some immigration officers who were following him snatched him. It happened so fast, they just vanished with him,” said one hotel employee.

In late December 2007 Kenya held a presidential election, of which the winner was announced as Mwai Kibaki. Immediately following the announcement, Odinga called foul. He accused election fraud and there was soon fighting in the streets and slums of Kenya. Over 1,000 were killed and 500,000 displaced from their homes. Hundreds and hundreds of churches were burned to the ground, destroyed or had to be abandoned. One Assemblies of God pastor reported that over 400 of their churches were affected similarly. Most of those killed were part of Kibaki’s party, Christians, or both. Coincidentally, no reports of any mosque damage were reported from that wave of violence.

Corsi was about to disclose evidence that Barack Hussein Obama had not only remained in close contact with his cousin Odinga, but that the contact was in reference to Obama coaching Odinga on campaign strategy and in raising U.S. funds for Odinga’s race to the presidency.

Even worse, Corsi was to reveal evidence that Odinga’s campaign strategy called for the exploitation of Kikuyu tribal settlements, claiming victory and charging voter fraud even if the campaign knew the election had been legitimately lost, and that Obama was aware of it. That is exactly what he ended up doing. Odinga was also willing to encourage the ethnic tribal violence against the Kikuyu, which is Kibaki’s tribe. The plan was to then provoke the Electoral Commission of Kenya to declare him the winner. Currently, there is a power-sharing arrangement between Odinga and Kibaki.

Of concern to many is the series of promises that Odinga made to the Kenyan Muslim community. He has yet to fulfill his promises, or to declare a position on Shariah law. Corsi said that Obama remained in active phone contact with his cousin through the New Hampshire Democratic Party primary in January. Obama has continually turned a blind eye to an agreement that Odinga signed with Muslims as well as the post-election violence that was initiated by Odinga’s political party.

Some reports that came out of the fighting stated that the price for a home or church to be burned was as little as $8 (USD) and a life could be taken for $16 (USD).

It is unclear who is behind the detaining of Corsi, or why. What is known is that many powerful political leaders would not want this information to be made public. Who had immigration capture Corsi and stop the press conference? Who has the most to lose? Obama? Odinga? One can conclude that perhaps it’s all in the family.

Morning/Afternoon/Whatever time of day it is,

Today feels more like business than pleasure.

(Which granted isn’t necessarily a bad thing since it’s the Art business.)

I’ve  spent the morning scanning some art to make into prints for the trade show in November.

I’m hoping to do up a bunch and whatever doesn’t sell at the tradeshow will be put online to sell.

So as I was scanning, I came across a postcard sized piece I did last Christmas while on a train ride to Tokyo and thought I’d share it with you today.

So as is the norm, I was sitting with my feet up. I have this tendency to either sit crossed legged or with my feet on something. I’ll probably suffer with bad hips or arthritis when I’m older but what are you going to do. I also had the camera with me because we were taking pictures out the train window. So I snapped this pictures of my feet and thought it made for an interesting composition.

So I sketched it out and took a picture of it.

And shockingly enough, I didn’t abstract it. I do have those days.

I guess that’s it for now.

It was great to be back home for Christmas with my two Sus (Sisters – Note this slang works better for male siblings where I am their Bru) and Mum and Dad.  Having a family of such international players means we rarely get the chance to all be together.  Perhaps all those years of Dad moaning about the state of our country became ingrained deep into our subconscious.  I’m here to stay, Annie’s in America and Rose will probably be out before long.  We do actually love England and the people, with the exception of those that feel need to constantly mess the whole place up.  I think I’m much more suited to the place as a holiday destination, rather than as a place to live though.   That way I can enjoy the quintessentially English idiosyncrasies every now and again without getting wound up by the general state of affairs.   Having said all this I can’t wait to get back to England in August for Reading festival and to see everyone again.

Now, whether it is the distance apart that makes us get on better and appreciate each other more or some entirely different reason, we all agreed this was probably our best Christmas together.  Everyone had a good time and bizarrely we weren’t going for each other’s throats come the evening of Christmas day.  No stress.

The day after Boxing day we got to go and see the London Philharmonic Orchestra at the Barbican.  This was a present to the family from Rose.  It was nice to go out and do something a bit cultured with the added bonus that the orchestra is really good.  Dvorak Symphony Number 9 was especially encapsulating.  While being out we of course had to have the obligatory children’s photo.  Mum is always a little sad she never has a nice photo of her children together.  There is always one of us pulling a stupid face, not smiling properly or just caught at the wrong time.  This day was no exception.  Mum must have taken about fifteen or so.  If we were not yet in the age of digital photography all would need to be laid on the waste pile.  Then again if we were not yet in the age of digital photography she would have taken one or two and been disappointed at a later date.  In the end us kids started to take the pictures ourselves.  The picture that goes with this day was taken by Annie.  We like it the best and as such it was my facebook profile picture for over half a year.

Other highlights over Christmas were singing teenage dirt-bag on New Years Eve with Ben and Max, Annie’s pub quiz at home with friends and getting invited to India for a wedding.
