Happy December my fellow Dorks! The holidays are in full swing and I have so so many plans up my sleeves. But I wanted to make a change before I put out all my holiday related poses. My prop based poses will now be fully adjustable via menu! Yup… no more editing and unlinking! So to introduce this new feature I have updated my 2 most popular poses. Whopperjawed and Bubble Doodle are now adjustable! Not only that, it will also save the 50 most recent avatar settings! What does this mean? If you love taking pics with all your friends, you only need to adjust it once. Even after you leave and come back (as long as the scripts do not get reset)! These are currently ONLY available at my shop at The Deck.

The last weekend in November.

What is this?

To achieve this view, I started out today with moving a lot of the BBSE (Boat building support equipment). This is required to one degree or other every time there is a new task.

This is because being an amateur I can afford enough planks, supports, cables, lights etc. ad infinitum for one task at a time.

Enough, that’s a subject for another post.

So once I had set up all I reckoned was required, I lifted the port panel as high as the tarp would allow, and started to mix the “slow” hardener with the West, and applied the glue to the edges of the vertical panels.

Application went well, I lowered the panel. Then all hell broke loose as I struggled to get the panel on exactly, screwed and weighed down, and ensure any excess was cleaned away before it all cooked off.

Have you ever seen a kitten try to remove sticking tape from its feet? Well, if you multiplied the complexity of that task by 100 and added 100% humidity @ 45°C under the tarp, you would come close to my situation.

Naturally I have only one photo, at the end with the clean up only just completed in time to avoid sanding.

Below – with all the bits and pieces laying about I just took off for the pool to try to lower my core temperature.

I had already noted the large lumps and smears of glue all over my clothes. They went for a vinegar wash and then I discovered, well past the cook off time, a huge lump of resin smeared on my head. More vinegar and more hair loss.

After cooling down I had a few hours of domestic tasks and then this evening I took some photos to show how the panel has created four compartments. The filleting and taping inside is yet to come, immediately after securing the starboard panel!

I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving this year!  I had one of the best, I made White Enchiladas from thepioneerwoman.com and they couldn’t have been better.  We had leftovers but those were quickly gone! I made some great sides and we had a giant meal.  I can’t remember liking Thanksgiving food as much as I did this year and it only took about two hours from start to finish to cook for the two of us.

This great picture of interior designer Charlotte Moss outside of her home in Aspen is a huge inspiration to me right now.  We’re thinking ahead to next year and what we want to do with the yard and deck.  Unfortunately we didn’t get to use our deck that much this year, and it needs some new railing since the old railing has rotted.  I’d love to be able to use it year-round, but to that we’ve got a long list of improvements we will need to make, not the least of which is getting some seating out there for us to use!

On the planning side, we also started thinking about a way to use the basement more effectively.  Right now it’s a storage place for boxes and whatever the previous home owners left for us.  We’d really like to make it comfortable down there, even if it just winds up being used for storage.

This week at the Gingerbread house we did more than just plan and stuff ourselves full of food.  James and I took advantage of the long weekend to clean up and take some of the still considerable number of boxes down into the basement for storage.  My office is coming along nicely, we’ve got it a bit more organized and my corkboard has been hung on the wall.  There’s still some painting to do in there and we have to figure out what to do with the floor since the lino underneath the carpet is cracked and coming out.

The kitchen got a surprise coat of paint yesterday.  I had some paint out in the right color and I found these nifty little rollers I got when I ordered some paint samples – they even came with a little tray!  So using that I was able to do some edge and detail work in the kitchen that I have been putting off.

My paint samples are back from when I painted my living room coffee table last year and I had just enough of the purple accent color I used to paint the doorway in the upstairs bathroom.  It’s a welcome splash of color since that bathroom was all white.  The color makes an impact but isn’t overwhelming.

Our Christmas tree is up with lights on but not decorated.  My mom said she would send us a box of her old ornaments, so I’ve been waiting on that box instead of trying to find my own ornaments right away.  The living room is so festive, even with our almost nude tree that it feels like Christmas time in there before you even see the tree.  This weekend stockings got hung and some decorations were put out.  I can’t wait to get that box from my mom!

Looking @ it, its freaking awesome.  Token making ftw, not too sure what the pridemage is in there for, but its GW so it cant hurt.  Oh its used to explode opponents eldrazi monuments. i see why its better than the eldrazi green.
Lets go over some of the key cards,

Lotus cobra – there to look good.  No im kidding, useful for the landfalling and to throw out whatever you have in your hand.

Elspeth – this card needs no introduction or does it need any more comment.
Knight of The Reliquary – ooo finally a place for this card,  its there to blow up your forests or plains and to search for a fetch land where you can blow that up again and get another basic land out, so thats 2 lands in the graveyard.  This card is good for land filtering, and just making landfall for lotus cobra or make a load of birds.

Hmm i think i can actaully make this deck woohoo.  Need master of the wild hunts though, urgh i think their prices have gone up now… hmm $7 US.  That should be ok i think…ARGH dont want to get birds of paradise…

Andrew Chin, – shoulder still killing…

Weekend after Thanksgiving–time to get a Christmas tree. Maybe it seems early to some, but we figure we might as well celebrate the season as long as we can. We went to Martel’s tree farm in Williston and cut a fine fir. It is worth visiting that tree farm just to get the view. It was a beautiful day so we saw snow on Mount Mansfield and Camel’s Hump and a long stretch of the Green Mountains. Lake Iroquois rippled in the breeze down the hill. And the smell of cut fir drifted over it all. We tied it to the car and hauled it over the town line.

We had to do some trimming to get it the right size. It was just a little too tall but we managed to make it work just right. The kids took a critical hand in trimming it so the bottom third is heavier with ornaments than the top two thirds. We strung lights–pink and blue and white and decked our humble halls with other delights, some made on the spot by the children who live here. They had a fine time of it. We hauled out the box of holiday CD’s and found the holiday tracks on Pandora internet radio and we made the transition to December with only a few bumps. Here is the before and after:

Gli alleati presenti in questo deck sono solo Blood Knight Kyria, protettore Blood Elf che cura 4 punti ferita ad un eroe o alleato bersaglio ogni volta che il proprio controllore gioca un’abilità, e Chief Researcher Amereldine, alleato Blood Elf 5/7 che ogni turno gira a faccia in su la prima missione che viene completata in quel turno, ottimo potere da usare in combinazione soprattuto con Solanian’s Belongings per riprendere dal cimitero un’abilità già utilizzata.

Per quanto riguarda le abilità del deck Arcane Mage Varanis Bitterstar, esse si possono suddividere in tre gruppi. Un primo gruppo di 17 abilità è centrato sulla possibilità dal parte dell’Arcane Mage di interrompere il gioco avversario impedendo che una sua abilità entri in gioco o che  una sua qualsiasi carta entri in gioco o di privare i poteri di una carta già presente in gioco, nello specifico: Fizzle interrompe un’abilità con costo inferiore a 3 risorse, The Taste of Arcane infligge un danno ad un eroe o ad un alleato beraglio e nel caso in cui il bersaglio sia un eroe interrompe una carta da esso giocata a meno che esso non spossi una risorsa aggiuntiva; Nether Fracture interrompe un carta alleato, abilità o equipaggiamento bersaglio; Mystic Denial interrompe in un primo momento una carta bersaglio e poi diventa un’abilità ongoing con il potere di interrompere la successiva carta giocata dall’avversario; e Spell Suppression priva i poteri una carta bersaglio sia essa alleato, abilità o equipaggiamento. un terzo gruppo di 12 abilità è centrata sul board control, in particolare: Blizzard all’inzio di ogni turno avversario infligge 1 danno da gelo all’eroe ed a tutti gli alleati avversari impedendo che essi in quel turno possano attaccare;  The More, the Scarier infligge x danni da fuoco a x bersagli; Invisibility nel turno in cui viene giocata conferisce al proprio eroe il potere di essere elusivo e intarghettabile e poi diventa un’abilità ongoing che annulla il potere elusivo e intarghettabile all’eroe ed agli alleati avversari; e Slow che impedisce all’avversario di giocare più di una carta per turno oltre al posizionamento di una carta risorsa. Il secondo gruppo di 7 abilità infine è centrata sul draw aggiuntivo di carte e sulla possibilità di cura, nello specifico: Invocation consente, una volta distrutta, che tutte le proprie risorse abbiano il potere di poter essere spossate e di far pescare una carta aggiuntiva; con Mana Sapphire è possibile, una volta distrutta e spossando massimo x risorse, è possibili pescare fino a 5 carte aggiuntive; ed infine Conjured Cinnamon Roll consente, una volta distrutta, di curare tanti punti ferita al proprio eroe quante sono le proprie risorse presenti in gioco. Una variante del deck Arcane Mage consiste nell’utilizzare e potenziare le bacchette che, a partire dalla espanzione Scourgewar, si ricorda sono diventate armi ranged, e che possono rappresentare una chiusura aggiuntiva; in particolare le carte che possono essere utilizzate per questa configurazione sono: Wand Specialization, Wand of Eternal Light e Voidfire Wand.

Gli equipaggiamenti consistono semplicemente in Blade of Wizardry con cui, scartando una propria abilità, è possibile distruggere un alleato bersaglio, e Belt of Blasting con cui pagando x risorse e spossando il proprie eroe è possibile inferire x danni ad un eroe o ad un alleato bersaglio avversario: ottima anche come chiusura.

Per quanto riguarda le location e le missioni, essendo Varanis Bitterstar un Blood Elf, non potevono mancare  Silvermoon City, che conferisce all’eroe o ad un alleato Blood Elf la resistenza scelta inizalmente, e Solanian Belongings, che permette tra l’altro di riprendere dal cimitero un’abilità ottima da usare in combianzione con Chief Researcher Amereldine. Forces of Jaedenar, Information Gathering e Counterattack! assicurano un ottimo draw aggiuntivo di carte. In questo tipo di deck non è difficile trovare come risorsa anche la missione Swift Discipline.

Per quanto riguarda le Side Deck a potenziare il controllo dell’Arcane Mage sono state inserite le seguenti carte: Nether Fissure abilità istantanea che non può essere interrotta e che interrompe una carta bersaglio, Metalmorph che annulla i poteri di un equipaggiamento ed imedisce di che esso possa essere utilizzarlo, e Spell Ricochet con cui è possibile scambiare il bersaglio di un abilità con un altro bersaglio; mentre per favorire l’utilizzo continuo delle proprie abilità una volta che esse siano state utilizzate o siano presenti nel cimitero è stato inserito il pugnale Netherbreath Spellblade.

Il deck Arcane Mage Varanis Bitterstar è sicuramente uno dei più forti deck di controllo, capace di bloccare ogni strategia e di rendere l’avversario quasi come uno spettatore durante tutto il protrarsi della partita. Poichè il punto di forza di questo deck è la possibilità di avere una risposta sempre immediata alle carte avverarie, la strategia capace di contrastare questo mazzo, o di rendergli sicuramente la vista difficile, è sicuramente quella basata sull’hand control; anche i mezzi rush o i mazze stealth possono mettere in difficoltà l’Arcane Mage ma solo fino a quando non è presente in gioco Blizzard o non viene giocata Invisibility.

Today I moved both “ready” deck panels so I could rout, for H joins, those edges facing the anchor lockers. This will ease the build of the anchor hatch.

A few days back I had modified the engine crane and proved it had just enough travel to lift the panels 150mm. This is more than enough to apply glue to all the verticals and lower the deck before the glue goes off. However as it cannot swing or move the panels, I had to wrestle, slide and rotate both panels.

To avoid turning the panels over for the second pass, I placed my level as a guide for the bearing on the bit and adjusted the plunge depth.

Below – Next 4 photos show the rebating for the H joins. Although I have strong extractor, the throat of the router and this bit are very large, so balsa and some glass went everywhere. Looks neat, feels awful.

This is probably one of the best golf releases Upper Deck had within the short span that they manufactured golf products.  Many collectors believe that Tiger’s best rookie comes from ‘01 SP Authentic, but in my mind his true rookie will always be his S.I. for Kids from 1996.  Technically this contains his first autographed rookie.  Each hobby box contains 24 packs with 4 cards per pack.  For a golf product, these still sell extremely well and can usually be found for $150.00 to $200.00.  You can look for 2 autographs and 1 relic card per box.

Con il deck dell’Unholy Death Knight abbiamo completato la prima serie di 10 deck in base a tutte le classi per ora esistenti in WoW TCG ed adesso riprendiamo a descrivere le stesse classi in base ad una diversa configurazione prendendon come elemento diversificativo il talento di ogni eroe per quella specifica classe.

Il deck di oggi è l’Enhancement Shaman basato sull’eroe Moala Stonebinder. Si tratta di un deck molto veloce, di tipo rush deck e che, rispetto alllo Shaman Traitor Kil’zin of the Bloodscalp, usa le abilità per aumentare i poteri delle proprie armi a discapito del numero degli alleati in esso innclusi, fatto questo che qualifica tale mazzo come un “solo deck”.

Il flip di Moala Stonebinder consente, al costo di 2 risorse, che una propria arma non venga distrutta, cosa questa molto importante soprattuto se su di essa sono presenti potenziamenti di vara natura.

Alleati 3
3x Great Elekk

Unico alleato presente è il Great Elekk, la nuova cavalcatura dei draenei con cui, oltre che a velocizzare il completamento delle missioni facendo pagare una risorsa in meno il loro costo di attivazione, nel turno in cui si gioca una risorsa a faccia in su, ossia una missione o location, l’eroe infligge +2 danni aggiuntivi ogni volta in cui esso deve infliggere del danno. Un altro alleato che potrebbe trovare posto in questo tipo di deck è Galway Steamwhistle, per aumentare gli attacchi con un arma, o First Responder Avaressa, per sfruttare il suo potere curativo.

Per quanto riguarda le abilità, Storm Shock, Lightning Arc, Lightning Bolt, Earth Shock e Fork Lightning sono tutte abilità offensive capaci di infliggere danni di tipo natura al singolo eroe o agli alleati avversari; in particolare Fork Lightning è un ottima risposta contro Weldon Barow. per quanto riguarda le abilità che hanno effetto sulle proprie armi, Storm Strike è un abilità istant che fa tornare ready il proprio eroe ed una sua arma, anche dopo che essi hanno attaccato consentendo così un secondo attacco, e che aggiunge +2 danni ai prossimi danni di tipo natura inflitti; Maelstroam Wheapon è in parte un’abilità istant che infligge 2 danni di tipo natura ad un eroe o alleato bersaglio ed in parte un’abiltià ongoing su una propria arma e che per ogni danno da combattimento inflitto dal proprio eroe con l’arma infligge 1 danno di tipo natura aggiuntivo; e Shamanistic Dual Wield che, oltre a concedere all’eroe il potere dual wiled, consente di far pagare 1 risorsa in meno il costo per colpire di ogni arma posseduta. Grounding Totem infine è un efficente “parafulmini” che fa perdere tempo prezioso all’avevrsario convogliando su se stesso gli attacchi degli alleati e le abilità offensive avversarie.

L’equipaggiamento di questo deck ricalca molto da vicino quello dello Shaman Traitor Kil’zin of the Bloodscalp: Whispering Blade of Slaying oltre a conferire dual wield aggiunge +1 atk agli altri pugnali; Retainer Blade è un ottimo pugnale ally remove; e Black Amnesty è un pugnale che, oltre a conferire dual wield, è un ottimo espediente per difendersi sottraendosi dal combattimento. Quickstrider Moccasins avendo il potere di far tornare pronta una carta offre molte possibilità di utilizzo come far tornare pronto l’eroe e mettere in gioco una nuova arma con cui attaccare o far tornare pronto un pugnale, come ad esempio Black Amnesty, per difendersi.

In definitiva, come nel caso dello Shaman Traitor Kil’zin of the Bloodscalp Deck, siamo in presenza di un ottimo mazzo rush che al posto degli alleati ha il suo punto di forza solo nelle abilità offensive e nelle armi. Tuttavia tale deck, vista l’assenza di un’altra minaccia effettiva data dagli alleati, può avere poche possibilità di vittoria contro deck  di prevenzione del danno, come il Protection Paladin, o contro deck che fanno dell’hand control e dell’ability control il proprio punto di forza.

Per quanto riguarda gli alleati, il potere di Rak Skyfury, per il solo fatto di essere entrato in gioco, consente al proprio eroe ed ad una arma di tornare ready, cosa questa che permette un attacco aggiuntivo; Drandus the Deathcaller è un alleato protettore che ingligge danni shadow e che conferisce ai prori ghoul 2 Assault; Deathcharger è invece la nuova mount del Death Knight con cui, oltre a velocizzare il completamento di missioni facendo pagare una risorsa in meno il loro costo di attivazione, consente di attribuire ad un eroe o alleato bersaglio -3 punti ferita in un turno; Twilight Vanquisher Knolan è un alleato 3/2 che ha il potere di entrare in gioco senza pagare il costo di attivazione nel caso in cui  il proprio eroe o un alleato abbiano inflitto danno shadow all’eroe avversario, carta questa da usare in combianzione non solo con Drandus the Deathcaller e Death Coil ma anche con Blade of the Empty Void; infine Vanessa Fairgraves  chrcrea un Ghoul 3/3 nel turno in cui viene distrutta. Altri alleati che sicuramente potrebbero essere utilizzati in un deck di questo genere sono: Bloodsoul ed anche tutti gli alleati con la keyword Will of the Forsaken.

Le abilità si possono suddividere in due tipologie. La prima tipologia è centrata sui Ghoul Ally Toke: con Army of the Dead è possibile distruggere tutti gli alleati presenti in gioco, propri ed avversari, e creare tanti Ghoul 3/3 sotto il proprio controllo, ottima quindi come carta di chiusura  da giocare anche in combinazione con gli alleati Will of the Forsaken; Raise Dead alla fine del proprio turno e se non ci sono propri Ghoul in gioco, crea un Ghoul 3/3 rimuovendo dal gioco un alleato presente in un qualsiasi cimitero; e Death Coil con cui, oltre a infliggere 3 danni shadow ad un eroe o ad un alleato bersalio, è possibile anche far tornare pronto un Ghoul bersaglio capace anche quindi di compiere un secondo attacco in un round. La seconda tipologia consiste in abilità controllo generico: Suffocating Grip, al costo di 3 risorse, interrompe una qualsiasi carta alleato con costo x giocata ed  inoltre il proprio eroe infligge x danni all’eroe avversario; Mind Freeze interrompe una carta abilità o alleato e spossa, nel caso di successo, tutte le risorse avversarie; ed infine Corpse Explosion con cui è possibile infliggere 3 danni shadow ad ogni eroe o alleato avversario pagando solo 3 risorse e rimuovendo un alleato presente in un cimitero dal gioco.

Per quanto riguarda gli equipaggiamenti, la spada ad una mano Blade of the Empty Void, oltre a far diventare il proprio eroe protector qualora essa sia presente nel cimitero, è un arma che infligge danni shadow e quindi da usare in combianzione con Twilight Vanquisher Knolan; Vengeful Gladiator’s Cleaver invece è un ascia ad una mano che ha il potere di conferire al proprio eroe l’abilità dual wield; Jin’rohk, The Great Apocalypse è una spada a due mani di chiusura che distrugge tante carte controllate dall’avversario quanti danni vengono inflitti con essa  all’eroe avversario; infine Bonefist Gauntlets ha il potere di far pagare 2 risorse in meno il costo di attivazione di una qualsiasi arma.

Essendo Triton the Sacrilegious un eroe Undead DeathKnight è stato possibile inserire delle risorse specifiche come Undercity, che permette di curare il proprio eroe di 2 punti ferita per ogni alleato rimosso da un cimitero e compreso il cimitero avversario, Hazardous Materials, che aggiunge +1 ATK counter ad un arma e permette di pescare una carta aggiuntiva, e sopratutto Brothers in Death, che rimuovendo dal gioco un alleato bersaglio da un qualsiasi cimitero, crea un Ghoul 3/3. Infine Forces of Jaedenar e Information Gathering assicurano un discreto draw aggiuntivo di carte.

Per quanto riguarda le Side Deck, oltre ad una copia aggiuntiva di Army of the Dead, sono state previste tre copie di Galvanize, abilità con cui è possibile aumentare per un turno +1 ATK di tutti i propri Ghoul o +3 ATK di un prorio Ghoul bersaglio; tre copie di Blood Presence, abilità ongoing che aumenta di +1 qualsiasi tipo di danno inflitto dal proprio eroe e che cura 1 punto ferita il proprio eroe ogni volta che esso  infligge  del danno; e tre copie di Shield of Distortion, abilità istant che previene nel turno tutto il danno non da combattimento inflitto al proprio eroe o ad un alleato bersaglio.

Nonostante per i deck Ally Token la classe più specializzata sia il Druid e per le armi il Warrior, quella che si è voluta proporre è una prima prova per un deck basato sulla classe del Death Knight, una classe che, nonostante sia abbastanza buona come ally control e nonostante le innumerevoli aggiunte previste nell’espansione Scourgewar, a giudizio di chi scrive, ancora stenta a confronto dei deck tradizionali; ciò è dovuto in parte alla mancanza o alle poche  carte di controllo o di rimozione, soprattuto se si pensa alle abilità ed agli equipaggiamenti, ed all’assenza totale di carte che agevolano il draw, lasciando così il Death Knight in balia dei deck basati sull’hand control.

Generalmente tutti i deck basati sul Protection Paladin sono tutti orientati nel prevenire i danni subiti e nello spossare eroe ed  alleati avversari impendendone così ogni azione. Il deck che oggi si propone non si discosta da questa configurazione anzi esso, in questa versione, si configura come un’ottima risposta contro quasi tutti i mazzi più in voga in questo periodo.

Addisyn the Untouchable

Per quanto riguarda l’eroe, la scelta di Addisyn the Untouchable è dovuta non tanto al suo flip, con cui al costo di 3 risorse l’eroe ha per tutta la durata del turno la resistenza ai danni da arcano, da freddo, da fuoco, da natura o da shadow, quanto ai suoi talenti ossia Jewelcrafting e soprattuto Engineering con cui è possibile utilizzare i Tankatronic Goggles.

Per quanto riguarda gli alleati, Sayge consente all’inizio di ogni proprio turno di rimuovere dal gioco la prima carta del deck avversario o di giocarla nel caso si tratti di un alleato un’abilità o un equipaggiamento pagandone ovviamente il costo: in questo modo si ha un secondo draw di carte nel proprio turno ottimo contro i deck hand control ma anche contro tutti i deck  generici di controllo in quanto grazie a Sayge si possono giocare le carte avversarie; Blood Knight Kyria oltre ad essere un protettore 2/3 guarisce 2 punti ferita ad un eroe o alleato bersaglio ogni volta che il proprio eroe gioca un’abilità; Tatulla the Reclaimer distrugge un’abilità o un equipaggiamento dell’avversario e da lui scelti per il solo fatto di essere entrato in gioco; infine The Abominable Greench è un ally 7/5 di chiusura che consente di far pescare una carta ogni volta che l’avversario deve pescare una carta. Al posto di The Abominable Greench come altro alleato di chiusura può essere inserita anche Ishanah, High Priestess of the Aldor, alleato 5/8 cui cui, all’inizio di ogni turno avversario, si prende il controllo di un suo alleato da lui scelto.

Holy Schield, Blessing of Protection e Blessing of Sanctuary sono abilità che prevengono il danno inflitto al proprio eroe con cui è possibile infliggere pari danni imprevenibili al giocatore avversario, come nel caso di Holy Schield, o distruggere l’alleato fonte dei danni per il proprio eroe o alleato, come nel caso di Blessing of Sanctuary. Hammer of Justice spossa un eroe o un alleato avversario e impedisce ad esso di tornare ready il prossimo turno mentre Avenger’s Shield spossa fino a 3 targhet tra eroe e alleati avversari, impedisce che essi tornano ready il prossimo turno, ed infligge ad ognuno di essi 1 danno. Per quanto riguarda le altre abilità, Concentration Aura trasforma tutte le proprie abilità in abilità istat e le rende non soggette a interrupt, ottima risposta ai counter del mago; Blessing of Salvation rende un giocatore imbersagliabile e quindi non più soggetto, ad esempio, all’hand control o all’ability damage rush; infine Glimmer of Hope ability a difesa delle proprie carte chiave in quanto interrompe un’abilità che ha come bersaglio una propia carta in gioco.

Per quanto riguarda gli equipaggiamenti, Antonidas’s Aegis of Rapt Concentration, come Concentration Aura, rende le proprie abilità non soggette a interrupt ed inoltre rende tutte le proprie abilità imbersagliabili, e quindi non più soggette, ad esempio, alle abilità di controllo del mago o ai poteri di rimozione di una abilità bersaglio. Vindicator Brand, come Tatulla the Reclaimer, distrugge un’abilità o un equipaggiamento avversario ma solo nel caso in cui tale arma viene distrutta. Infine Jin’rohk, The Great Apocalypse è un arma di chiusura che distrugge tante carte controllate dall’avversario quanti danni vengono inflitti con essa  all’eroe avversario. Per evitare di distruggere Antonidas’s Aegis of Rapt Concentration quando si gioca Jin’rohk, The Great Apocalypse si può in alternativa sostituire tale arma con Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker, anche essa arma di chiusura, che infligge 5, 4, 3, 2 e 1 danni a massimo 5 bersagli tra eroe avversario e sui alleati.

Essendo Nathadan un Blood Elf non potevano mancare due risorse dedicate a questa razza ossia la location Silvermoon City, che conferisce all’eroe la resistenza scelta inizalmente, e la missione Solanian Belongings, che permette tra l’altro di riprendere dal cimitero un’abilità.  Forces of Jaedenar, Information Gathering e  Counterattack! assicurano un buon draw aggiuntivo di carte.

Per quanto riguarda le Side Deck, oltre ad una copia aggiuntiva di Blessing of Salvation, come già accennato grazie al talento di Engineering è stato possibile inserire i Tankatronic Goggles  mediante i quali, oltre a vedere le carte in mano all’avversario ed a rendere il proprio eroe  un protettore, gli alleati avversari perdono i poteri di elusive, stealth e soprattuto untargettable, ottima difesa quindi contro i stealth deck ed i myrian deck; Doshura Risestrider è un generico ally-remove; mentre Ardent Defender previene tutti i danni che sono inflitti al proprio eroe una volta che esso ha 25 o più ferite, buona difesa quindi contro i rush deck.

In conclusione il Protection Paladin Addisyn the Untouchable è un buon deck con una risposta quasi sempre pronta nei confronti dei deck più popolari in questo periodo: contro l’hand control si ha come risposta Concentration Aura; contro il mage control si può usare Blessing of Salvation, Glimmer of Hope e Antonidas’s Aegis of Rapt Concentration; contro i dot deck utili sono i poteri di Tatulla the Reclaimer e Vindicator’s Brand; contro i rush deck, oltre a tutte le abilità che prevengono il danno o spossano un  eroe o alleato bersaglio, Ardent Defender è un ottima contromossa; ed infine contro i myrian deck i Tankatronic Goggles rimuovono il potere di Myriam Starcaller di essere imbersagliabile. Per quanto riguarda i difetti di questo deck subito bisogna considerare che esso non può fare sempre tutto e spesso la risposta che si desidera può tardare ad arrivare, per questo occore sempre avere un buon draw aggiuntivo di carte.

The Hobby is filled with a ton of strange and unusually cards you normally wouldn’t expect to find in a pack.  With so many products based around historical figures and events, it shouldn’t surprise you that Thanksgiving has found its way into people’s collections.  Upper Deck and Panini (Donruss at the time) steal the show when it comes to Thanksgiving themed trading cards.  Most of them aren’t worth very much, but to player/set collectors they could possible fill that hole which has been in their collection for years.

From 2006 to 2008, Donruss printed base cards of their popular football products containing their Thanksgiving logo slapped on the front.  There were a few ways you could obtain these.  In 2006, Beckett inserted some of them into issues of Beckett Football Card Monthly.  You could also get team sets if you attended the football game that was playing that Thanksgiving Day.  Finally, Donruss inserted some of them in packs of their football cards that year.  From 2007 to 2008 you could get them at the stadium on Thanksgiving Day or pull them from packs.  Some of these cards contain rookies of popular (at the time they were popular) players such as Reggie Bush, Marshawn Lynch, and Jamarcus Russell.

This year’s Upper Deck A Piece of History probably contains Thanksgiving’s two best cards in existence.  The one above features the Pilgrims landing at Plymouth and the one below could basically be considered Thanksgiving Day’s rookie card.  Scholars have debated for years when and where Thanksgiving originally started, but most have agreed upon the year 1621 at the Plymouth Plantation.  Its a topic that could be discussed by historians way into the night much like the topic of when and where someone picked up a stick and said lets play baseball.  I’m sure if pieces of the Mayflower were available for sale, Upper Deck would be all over them to insert into the next version of A Piece of History.

Oggi vi proponiamo il Balance Druid deck basato sull’eroe Eriun Moonglow. Tale deck è generalmente considerato un ally control, grazie alle abilità che impediscono di far tornare ready gli alleati avversari o ne impediscono ogni azione, affiancato dalle abilità che creano e potenziano ally token, da cui l’appellativo token deck.

Il flip dell’eroe Balance Druid Eriun Moonglow consente, al costo di x risorse, di rimescolare nel proprio deck  x carte abilità balance e di infliggere x danni ad un alleato bersaglio avversario. Un flip molto utile visto e considerato che tutte le abilità presenti in questo deck sono abilità balance.

Per quanto riguarda gli alleati, Mikael the Blunt in combinazione con la location Eye of the Storm è un ottimo ally control in quanto infligge 2 danni ad ogni eroe o alleato che ritorna ready; Adam Eternum con il suo 5/3 al solo costo di 3 risorse, è uno tra i più potenti alleati di controllo dell’Alleanza capace di sottrarsi sia a tutti gli attacchi avversari che agli effetti che richiedono un targhet ally; infine Weldon Barov è indubbiamente una delle carte più potenti fino ad ora uscite per l’Alleanza, capace di proteggere il proprio eroe con 3 ally token 1/1 e protector, creati alla fine di ogni proprio turno; considerando che questo deck si basa anche sugli ally token Weldon Barov ha un ruolo più che fondamentale.

Le abilità presenti in questo deck si possono suddividere in tre tipologie: la prima comprende le abilità che impediscono all’eroe o agli alleati di attaccare o difendere, come Cyclone e Typhoon, o di rimuovere il singolo alleato dalla zona degli alleati e spostarlo come risorsa nella zona delle risorse, come Hibernate; la seconda tipologia si riferisce a quelle abilità che creano ally token, come  Nature’s Reach e Force of  Nature, o che potenziano gli stessi ally token, come Nature’s Reach e Gift of the Wild; infine la terza categoria  comprende abilità generiche di controllo come The Natural Order, che distrugge un abilità o un equipaggiamento bersaglio, e Barskin, che impedisce alle proprie carte alleato, abilità ed equipaggiamento di essere interrotte.

Per quanto riguarda gli equipaggiamenti, in questo deck sono stati presi in considerazioni 2 dei 4 equipaggiamenti Wastewalker che danno vita ad una combinazione ally remove molto interessate: con Wastewalker Leggings quando un eroe o un alleato avversario diviene esausto il proprio eroe infligge 1 danno, e con Wastewalker Helm quando il proprio eroe infligge un danno ad un alleato, esso viene distrutto; infine  Battle Mages Baton è un ottimo arma di controllo: pagando x si distrugge un alleato, un’abilità o un equipaggiamento con costo x.

Come già scritto nel precedente Warlock Destruction: Mazar, per quanto riguarda la location, Eye of the Storm, viene utilizzata in combinazione con Mikael the Blunt, ma consente anche di utilizzare il potere di Adam Eternum, e per questo motivo è stata inserita  anche la risorsa In Defense of Halaa che aumenta i counter presenti su una carta; Corki’s Ransom è un ottimo draw aggiuntivo da utilizzare ogni turno, mentre Forces of Jaedenar e The Defias Brotherhood assicurano un buon riciclo di carte soprattutto in casi di emergenza.

Nelle side deck, oltre ad una copia aggiuntive di Adam Eternum e Weldon Barov, sono state inserite tre copie di Reforestation che, oltre a distruggere un equipaggiamento bersaglio, mette in gioco 3 ally token 1/1; tre copie di Stangling Roots che ,oltre e spossare un alleato bersaglio ed impedire di farlo tornare ready nel prossimo turno, infligge 2 danni ogni turno all’alleato a cui è attaccata; e 2 copie di Hammer of the Naaru che oltre, a spossare l’eroe e tutti gli alleati avversari, infligge danni imprevenibili.

In genere il deck Balance Druid Eriun Moonglow è un ottimo deck di controllo supportato da due combinazioni molto fastidiose: a) Mikael the Blunt e Eye of the Storm, e b) Wastewalker Leggings e Wastewalker Helm, ottime contro i deck rush. Le abilità che impediscono al singolo eroe o alletato avversario di attaccare o difendere, hanno il solo scopo di bloccare il gioco avversario, mentre Adam Eternum e gli ally token chiudono sicuramente i giochi. Punti deboli di questo deck sono l’assoluta vulnerabilità nei contronti dell’hand control e la fragilità nei confronti dei control deck del mage: Varanis Bitterstar e Vor’na the Wretched.

This is one of the hardest cards to find from this historical football set from the 90’s.  If your lucky enough to find one, be prepared to spend around $700.00.
