Missing 4-ton Motorcycle Statue | Art Knowledge News
LINDON, UTAH (AP).- The mystery of a missing 4-ton sculpture outside a Utah motorcycle shop has been solved. It disappeared over the weekend and apparently the artwork’s sculptor took it back. The attorney for Springville sculptor Jeffrey Decker says Decker owns the statue and was legally entitled to remove it.

Lawyer Randall Spencer said in a statement Tuesday that a loan agreement makes it clear that the sculpture was on loan to Timpanogos Harley-Davidson.

The $100,000 sculpture depicts an old-time speed racer. It was erected two years ago at the store in Lindon, Utah.

Employees who showed up for work Saturday found that the statue and the granite block it was mounted on were gone.

It is my third day in Leeds.  The city is beautiful and the people are very friendly.  I am living in Oxley Hall, which is kind of like a small Hogwarts Castle.  When I got here it was so foggy that I couldn’t even see the top of the building and everything was muddy from the melted ice.

I have now met all of my flat mates.  There are 5 people (including me) that live in the flat.  I didn’t know that I would be living in a flat with boys, but it is not very different from living with girls.  I have my Own room and bathroom that connects to a hall and kitchen that I share.  So far I have only eaten something that was cooked (e.g. not a sandwich or cereal) once… and it was spaghetti.  When I started cooking my flat mates had just started drinking for the night.  It was kind of pathetic, but a little funny too.  They drink so much here.  It’s weird.  I watched a lot of alcohol disappear in  a few minutes, and then I watched them start to get funny.  It was very interesting what they talk about when they are drunk; they are very funny to say the least.  But, there was one boy who was quite mean to me, but I think I just didn’t get his humor??  He told me that he knew I was an American because of my over bleached teeth (um… I just brush them, England should try it) and drab clothes.  This is what he said when he met me, but he progresses to be even meaner as the evening when on.  By the time he left I could have gladly stabbed him with my fork. grrr!

Today I made my second trip to the University of Leeds (a.k.a. the “Uni”).  I took a campus tour and got lunch.  I met a girl from Singapore, Zinyi, who was feeling a little homesick too.  Tonight we are going to go to the grocery and social together.  I think that once the semester gets going it will be so much fun to be here!  It’s been hard to be here right now, because I am still trying to learn how to get around and I can’t go too far.

On the way back from the Uni– I already feel posh just saying it, Cat, Molly and I rode on the top level of the bus.  You can see so much more from the top.  Plus, the sun had come out and cleared away some of the remaining fog and I could see much further.  It is both the same as home, and different at the same time.  They have many of the same brands in the stores, the Black Eyed Peas, “I Got a Feeling” is playing everywhere, and the people here differentiate between Northern and Southern British accents( a Southern accent here is considered more country than a Northern one too!). But, everywhere I go the buildings are so old and elegant, there are double decker buses and one-third of the cars, and sunshine is a rare treat.

So far, its not to shabby.  I think there is potential to have a wonderful semester!  I will just have to work on missing Brian and my family.  That is the hardest part so far.

1st Bus Stop. Your child's bus stop was in an area that is well lit and easily accessible, and out of service. If it does not, contact the school toStop moving. - Have a family dinner (if your kids are grown up, a potluck can help simplify things).

I just recently purchased this Black and Decker Slice Right Electric Knife and it’s not bad for the price. It takes a little bit getting used to. The safety lock really works and it is somewhat difficult to release it to get the knife started but I guess it’s suppose to be that way for safety purposes. I used it the first time on a brisket and I got nice even slices. It was good for cutting very thin slices and thick slices. It comes with a fork too which came in very handy and is needed, especially for meats. I have small hands, and the no slip grip handle really helps to get a good grip and hold the knife in place. The cord is long enough to give plenty of room for moving. I would recommend this inexpensive electric knife. I found out about it from Cook’s Illustrated.
I am pleased with this knife and it’s not bad for the price. The Slice Right really does slice right. Get one, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Thanks America’s Test Kitchen, Cook’s Illustrated for this one and thanks Black and Decker for making another fine product and inexpensive too. Oh yes, make sure to read and follow the instructions to be safe and to SLICE RIGHT!

The case doesn’t really close/snap correctly. Which is a bummer, but hardly a fatal flaw.

Was für eine dumme Polemik gegen die Kritische Theorie! Ich dachte, na mal schauen was die nun an der Frankfurter Schule zu kritisieren haben. Aber, ach…nach mittlerweile 25 Minuten kommt immer noch nichts anderes als blöde Unterstellungen und wilde Interpretationen. Ich bin geradzu schockiert, wie billig das ist.
