In my last blog, I wrote about biorhythms and how they can affect your health. (Just scroll down if

In my last blog, I wrote about biorhythms and how they can affect your health. (Just scroll down if you want to read it.) Today I discuss the Master cycles that occur in nature and how they influence your health and well being. There are numerous cycles that affect us, most of which we are unaware. They are wheels within wheels, as it were.

The master cycles are governed by your internal or spiritual senses, or as Deepak Chopra, M.D. and Ayurvedic Teacher would say, your quantum body. There are three phases that occur from sunrise to sunset and then three more from sunset to sunrise.

The times are as follows:

                6 A.M. – 10 A.M. Kapha 6 P.M. – 10 P.M. Kapha

                10 A.M. – 2 P.M. Pita 10 P.M. – 2 A.M. Pita

                2 P.M. – 6 P.M. Vata 2 A.M. – 6 A.M. Vata

If you are not familiar with the Ayurvedic doshas, I will give you a brief explanation. Doshas are the Ayurvedic body type categories and attributes that apply to your body and the master cycles. Everything is related and connected.

A Vata is enthusiastic and vivacious by nature. Thin physique. May have difficulty falling asleep and sleeps lightly. Has an active and imaginative mind. Learns quickly, but also forgets quickly.

A Pita is precise and orderly. Can anger easily. Is uncomfortable if a meal is skipped or late. Fond of cold foods and drinks – loves ice cream. Has a sharp intellect and articulate in speech.

A Kapha gains weight easily and loses it more slowly. Is calm, not easily ruffled. Must get at least eight hours of sleep at night. Is uncomfortable in cool and damp climates. Has very good stamina and physical endurance. Has a steady energy.

Now you can take a written quiz to determine which is your dominate doshas. I administer these in my healing practice. (www.deborahmdiamond.com)

These same attributes are attributed to the cycles of the day. So, 6 – 10 both A.M. and P.M. are slower rhythms. That is why you are slower, calmer and more relaxed when you first get up in the morning and start to wind down naturally in the evening.

The Pita cycle is when you are naturally most physically active. Hunger comes in the middle of the Pita cycle around noon. As Pita is responsible for metabolizing food, it is good to eat your largest meal (if they vary) at noon. At night Pita appetite’s is not as strong, but it will digest your dinner and keeps you warm at night as you sleep and helps regenerate your tissues. Pita is the fire element.

The first Vata period begins at 2 P.M. and it controls the nervous system. Research shows that people do best on tests in the Vata period, and can add fastest than, also. Interesting isn’t it? Now at night during your Vata sleep cycle instead of “thinking” it assists in a deep dream cycle REM (rapid eye movement).

So, in Ayurveda the perfect day to correspond with nature’s cycles looks like this.

Rising: 6-8 A.M. Best to rise one hour before the sun comes up so that you have time to meditate, do some Yoga postures, and deep breathing. Dawn is a very receptive time of day to connect with the natural rhythms and open your psyche to higher levels. During this Kapha period your body and mind is also calm and relaxed. It is my favorite time a day. Eat breakfast. Sit quietly for five minutes and walk lightly five to fifteen minutes to aid digestion.

Lunch: 12 – 1 P.M. when the digestive fires are burning their hottest and not coincidently the sun is the highest in the sky! Sit quietly for five minutes after lunch and walk lightly five to fifteen minutes to aid the digestion. Later in the afternoon, take some time to sit quietly and/or meditate.

Dinner: 6 – 7 P.M. Eat a moderate meal. Sit quietly for five minutes after lunch and walk lightly five to fifteen minutes to aid the digestion. Dusk is another very powerful time of day. I like to sit and watch or feel the sun set. It is very calming and connecting for your body, mind and spirit.

Bedtime: 9:30 – 10:30 P.M. Light activity in the evening and to bed at least three hours after your dinner.

Now, I imagine you are thinking. “That’s not my schedule!” And I can relate. I have an 8:00 P.M. dance class on Wednesday nights! One of the reason’s I bring this up is that our society is suffering from an all time high of insomnia, stress, heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. Humans are the only species, a famous drummer once said, that can intentionally get out of rhythm with the greater cycles. Ever notice how crickets chirp in harmony at night? They synchronize. Ever notice how birds and other insects do a call and response. One bird will do a call and another will respond. If you are good at bird calls, you can mimic a call to a particular bird in your area and listen closely, sooner or later, you will hear a response! This is all part of the synchronization of life cycles.

People today are more out of balance than ever before! Once you begin to re-entrain with the natural rhythms, you will start to have more energy, be calmer, and therefore happier and healthier. And consequently, learn your dance steps easier! You will be riding the current instead of paddling against it. If you have ever fought a head wind, or paddled up stream, you know how exhausting it is and how little progress you make! The exact same principle is applied here.

So, how to do it in a modern world? I have found for myself that the morning time is the most important. Set the tone of the day with the meditation, yoga, or your own form of stretching, or exercise, and breathe work. And, yes, I don’t always want to get up at 5 or even 6 A.M., but I am always grateful when I do. Honestly, I am just more cheerful!

Now, you gotta plan for the meals and with our insane schedules, meals are falling low on the priority list. Fresh organic vegetables, grains and meats is the best. Pick more conscious restaurants. Prepare several meals on Sundays to get you through the first part of the week, then, take another evening or morning to prepare for the rest of the week. Best not to eat food more than three days old, as it loses too much nutrition the older it gets. In other words, the food’s life force diminishes and therefore yours also. Imagine how much life force is lost in packaged and caned foods that are months on shelves before they even reach the grocery store!

How to begin? First step is becoming conscious of the cycles. So, that one is out of the way. Second step is to commit to do something to improve your connection to the master rhythms, and the third step is to do it! You will be very grateful once your body readjusts. A good reference is Deepak Chopra’s book, Perfect Health. Give it a try. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Please write me on how you are doing.

I love de Happinez.

Laat me zien hoe je mens bent.

M.a.w: De goeroe is met pensioen. Ik moet het zelluf doen.

En hoe is dat voor jou?

I’m still thinking critically about the present-day view of Jesus, the view of which Deepak Chopra advocates by painting a rosy-cozy picture of a “third” Jesus. Awhile back we saw Machen’s comments that were excellent and appropriate. From a different “tradition,” here’s Bishop Willimon’s take on this whole thing.

“It is odd that we have made even Jesus into such a quivering mass of affirmation and oozing graciousness, considering how frequently, unguardedly, and gleefully Jesus told us that we were sinners. Anyone who thinks that Jesus was into inclusiveness, self-affirmation, and open-minded, heart-happy acceptance has then got to figure out why we responded to him by nailing him on a cross. He got there not for urging us to ‘consider the lilies’ but for calling us ‘whitewashed tombs’ and even worse.”

Right. If Jesus just gave us some neat statements on realizing our potential, why in the world did we staple him to a tree while cackling like demons? We need Jesus because he called sin sin and chased it to the cross to pay for it and take the damning curse from those who trust in him. I don’t really care about my lack of self-actualization and low self-esteem. My dark and depraved heart frightens me much more.

Money cant buy you everything , Master card can!! I was supposed to write this blog a long back but

Money cant buy you everything , Master card can!!

I was supposed to write this blog a long back but lot of jobless VNIT people gave an attempt and as usual I dont like to follow the trend , I postponed .. but the last weekend made me do it .. finally.. thank u bali . ..

Right now , I am in my office @ Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals, yerwada, Pune .. alas !! the very name DEEPAK makes me sad .. though it is a mid size company and in the top 20 of Forbes Asia list .. and blah blah .. but how on earth can somebody name the eneterprise DEEPAK if he wanted to make it so big .. the wada pav wallahs in dadar name their thelas better than this ..

Yes , as I am in my office in pune ( here in pune shudnt be treated as a good thing … this city is really expensive and makes people spend a lot and I am no exception .. the tapri chai here will cost u 6 Rs. a cup .. so extrapolate) and I have absolutely nothing to do .. even my HR girls here say this thing on my face .. doesnt HR include sympathy and courtesy ? when I had joined Deepu .. I thought I am gonna be a super innovative marketing guy who doest sell product but sells concept .. and I will come up with smart ass supply chain management solutions .. and I expand the shailashbhai`s business ( shailashbhai is deepakbhais`s son ) and things .. .but babuchaka!!! nothing of that sort is happening.. after a month of so called induction program and attending useless HR program where I actually spent day in anAC hall in a low profile 4 star hotel , had russian salad and came out with cough and cold . My frnd here calls it as corporate life .. Those Hr programs`s speakers can stand for a day or two and motivate one , if at all the person sitting in front of him is having the mindset and focus like that .. but in any core industry when bunch of engineers sit together there is no way it is going to happen..

Few things which have happened/ helped me after joining this company

1. Dress neatly and shave everyday and that includes having a bath too .. every single day .. needless to say that consumes an essential hour of my sleep .. and once in a week when I press Ok button instead of SNOOZE .. I am late .. standing in front of bengali DGM who has already threatened me of throwing out of Deepu when he caught me bitching abt him in the annual sales conference..

2. I never realised weekends can be so essential in one`s life.. and I have started loving Fridays more than ever.. on every friday and saturday nights we all guys ( pune room where I stay with three legendary characters who got kicked off by the last owner .. apparently who r my seniors too ) go to some shitty bars where we can drink a lot of cheapest available liquor .. now you will say I must be saving a lot of amount on account of this thing … but alas this happens only when we spend rest of the salary in Hard Rock Cafe or some other place where a small whiskey costs u 110-200 Rs.

3. Recently my dad gave me the worst ever gifts in my life : a credit card having 40K limit and my old maruti 800 .. unfortunately/fortunately the car came after the credit card .. I am still calculating in which case I would have had spent more .. eventually credit card is like a vicious circle and I strongly believe that world can be only divided in two categories … one who has a credit card and one who doesnt .. the categories can also be called as fool enough and wise enough respectively. The credit card also gave birth to a different prathamesh who could spend 6k in a single night and on a random girl.. thats a different story and lets not go there..

4. The last page of my diary reads the accounts of last three months .. they are as follows :

Credit card bill : 26000/-

Re-union bill : 7500/-

Car bill : 21500/-

room rent and other house stuff : 4750/-

Misc : 8000/-

I dont know how these figures have come up nor do I know how i am going to cope with them and with my birthday coming up in this month I have already bid for a manual SLR camera on ebay worth 8k . Only a miracle can save me now .. on top of this my brother is asking for a diwali gift which is a guitar processor worth 5k atleast and my mom is insisting me to spend another 6-7 k so that I can gift a ring and a gold chain to grandparents in Ratnagiri .. anybody if interested to gift me something on my bday please … please gift in cash..

5. I miss college and I miss nagpur too .. no extension to this topic now as a separate blog will be dedicated soon ..

6. I am learning to how to talk to people without disturbing their ego and more importantly not to laugh like a rakshas in public which I have been doing in my past life .. I can managed to smoke less now and spend more on happydent and mint which is reducing a lot of fluids in my body .. I hate mint but in this corporate life that acts as a life saver .. trust me !!

7. I am still confused abt giving b-school exams this year .. by far I have got one of the best job profiles one could get at this early stage and continuing with that is a wise decision .. I dont say this .. people told me .. sometimes i feel like a bugger eating shailashbhai`s hard earn money and I get a strong urge of job change but again then I think its too early to change and many other things clog my mind up .. Confusement indeed!!!

Enough of this bullshit as cowdung is on the way as main course and baby huggu as sweet dish in the upcoming blogs..

P.S. Ever imagined how thoughts can be so random and it takes a lot of pain to pen down thoughts without forgetting the earlier one .. I did to some extent..

IF By Rudyard Kipling

IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream – and not make dreams your master;
If you can think – and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ‘em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
‘ Or walk with Kings – nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And – which is more – you’ll be a Man, my son!

It was a Saturday evening.

A group of children were playing in the park making noises that hit the nearby houses. They were enjoying the Saturday evening to the core. No studies, no homework, no exams. What else children need these days? An hour of sleep, lots of time to play and enjoy.

65 year old Vasudevan was sitting in the bench and was keenly watching the kids playing cricket, in the park situated nearby Mercy Oldage Home. He was in his white dhoti and well pressed khadi pyjama which has been donated by Khadi Gramodyog Bhavan to all the senior citizens of the Mercy Home. The walking stick, which never parts from him, was lying beside him. He was here by his own decision.

He could see two kids fighting in the crowd of children playing see-saw. A flabby obese child was hit by another one who is thin and weak to his age. He could barely lift the cricket bat which was lying on the ground. The scene of the weak tiny boy who keeps hitting the obese child disturbed him. Vasudevan was very much tired for his age and in his life. The small boy’s mischievousness was at the peak. He constantly hits the obese kid with the bat and this plump kid never retorts back. After few more hitting, both of them leave the place and this flabby kid walks towards the bench.

Vasu seeing him coming, calls the obese kid.

“Hey you. Come here dear”

Hearing those words, the boy turns his side and comes running towards him.

“What is your name?”, Vasu asked him softly bearing a light smile in his face.

“Deepak” came the reply.

“Deepak, why do you play with that naughty boy who keeps hitting you always? Why don’t you hit him back so that he never shows his mischievousness to you?

Deepak replied, “I play with him because; others don’t include me in the games. They don’t allow me in their group because I’m fat. I look ugly. My dress is tight and they hate playing with me. Aswin plays with me even though I’m fat. He is the only one who accepts me as a friend. If I hit him back he’ll too leave me. After all his the only one I’ve, to play with me. I don’t wanna miss him”

Saying this he hurriedly left running towards the park gate.

Deepak’s words stirred Vasudevan’s thoughts.

***

A week back in his own house, he shouted at his son Krishnan, who was assistant manager in an elevator company managing the finance and accounts.

“I’m leaving this house”, Vasudevan’s voice reverberated the 3BHK flat which Krishnan bought a month ago. “I cannot stay with him who doesn’t have any respect to his father. I’m leaving”

“Father, it’s you who happily gave away the important file containing the account statements to waste paperwala. You know how important that document is? I had worked day and night to prepare that report and it was due submission. I had to ask another day to prepare it again and submit it back. It is the only reason, I spoke harshly to you. Why are you leaving us for this?”

“No whatever reason you give me, I’m not in a mood to accept it. I need respect. When it is not available here, I’m not staying here. See you”. Vasudevan packed his bags and left the house and he is now here in the Mercy home for the past one month. Krishnan’s effort to make his father stay back went in vain. He was helpless.

***

Someone knocked the door early in the morning. When Krishnan opened the door he was surprised to see his father back home. Vasudevan quietly entered the house and entered silently into his room and sat in his chair. Krishnan could not say anything. He wanted to talk to his dad. But he did not want to hurt him saying anything. He wanted his father to rest. He was in tears out of the happiness that filed his heart seeing his father back home after a month from the Mercy home.

Krishnan was getting ready for the day’s work and was hurrying as usual to his office. He left home hurriedly seeing his father asleep in his room.

By the time he reached his Office, he got a call from his manager.

“Krishnan, please bring the audit report which we prepared yesterday. Hope you reviewed it at home as you said”

“Yesss Sir…I’ll be there in a minute”. When the receiver was placed down, he realized that he had left the file at home. “Oh my God…today again in hurry I left the file back at home”. He quickly made another call to his manager and informed that he need some time and he’ll be back in 5 minutes.

“Oh yes. No problem Krishnan. Take your time. Come to my cabin after 5 minutes”, Manager replied and put the receiver down.

By the time he was about to start home. Krishnan received another call from reception.

“Mr. Krishnan, someone is waiting for you in the lobby”

“Yes I’ll be there in a minute”

“Thank you Sir” the call ended.

Who wants to see me now? I want to get that file from Home immediately. Shall I ask him to come another day and discuss? Thinking all this he got down the stairs and reached the lobby in search of the person who has come to meet him.

***

Krishnan approached the reception and the lady pointed her pen towards the couch. It was a fraction of time Krishnan took, turning to the direction the receptionist pointed, to see Vasudevan sitting in the couch, with a file in his hand, along with a flabby kid who was holding a football, sitting beside him. His heart was heavy with melancholy.

“Father….” He said. He was not able to talk. His throat was choked out of happiness of seeing his father.

Krishnan could not control his feelings. He burst out in tears and came towards him and fell on his father’s feet.

Vasudevan spoke, “Krishnan, here is the file which you forgot to take with you, this morning. Amma gave this to me to handover this to you. Hope this is so something important for you today. I don’t wanna miss you”

P.S: This is a thought expressed by my colleague. He wanted those thoughts to be written in some form of story and I’ve tried my best to put it here in a story as narrated by him.

Take this song for example. “dekho wo chaand chhupke karta hai kyaa ishaare”. What a quintessential “Chaayaageet” song it is. It is written by S H Bihari. Hemant Kumar and Lata sing it. Hemant Kumar himself is the music director too.

A compelling new movie marketed through Hay House, “The Shadow Effect” takes you on a journey to that which you hide. A comprehensive look at how “Shadow” effects our lives, workplace, politics and ultimately our health. Debbie Ford does a terrific job introducing the concept that we all have a “shadow” part to us. The “Shadow” is born of the wounded ego- stemming from the shaming messages we received in early childhood. It is not only within us, it shows up all over our media, corporate, government, religious institutions, communities and our relationships.

With the contribution of Deepak Chopra, Marianne Williamson and others, the viewer is invited to take an honest look at their own dark side or parts of themselves they hide from others, as a pathway to freedom. As it is said, until we confront the parts of us that we don’t like or think are “un-loveable,” those aspects will build and begin to work against us in our daily lives. It is suggested that literally hundreds of millions of people are walking around in denial of the fact that they even have a shadow self. This is contaminating the culture in a host of different ways through projection, dishonesty, violence, corruption and more. There are incredible testimonials from people that will inspire you to begin the process of taking that honest and thorough look within. The expanded version is wonderful as it provides exercises to help you get started. Another blockbuster from the folks at Hay House.

Attention Please Millionaires!

by Salim Abraham .

The untimely death of Michael Jackson saddened me deeply. We all feel grieved and we will all miss him forever. In a way, it is our failure that we were not able to see his problems, or we were not there to help him recover from his problems. I hear that he was very friendly with Mr. Deepak Chopra and many other spiritual leaders, but nobody was able to help him or even acknowledge his problems.

It is also possible that he was not receptive to their advice or help. Anyway, we lost one of our prodigies in pop music and choreographed dance.
It would be positive if we try and understand the kind of problems many of the so called successful people face. The core problem is their inability to handle success. If you want to live a normal life, you must live a disciplined life. It is like driving your vehicle in one way traffic.

If we follow the traffic rules, we may be able to reach our destination but if we drive our vehicle in the opposite direction without following the rules, we will definitely not make it to the destination. So, in this life, there are unwritten rules which we should follow in order to lead a successful life. But when we attain a huge financial freedom without wisdom, we tend to ignore the unwritten laws of the world and we start to feel that we are some super being and we can lead a life of our own with our money and our financial freedom and this freedom will build a very big wall around us. We will end up as a prisoner in this wall and our connections and love with our loved ones will be cut off and we will find ourselves surrounded by a group of selfish and parasitic people who suck our blood.

And once they are done with it they will just wither away and our loved ones will not have any access to us. This is a very sad state of affairs and the so called rich man walks to his failure.

In the holy book of Ramayana, there is a incident when Lord Rama goes out to the forest to catch the Mareechan (the golden deer) on his wife’s, Sita Devi’s, request. Before leaving, Lord Rama told his brother, Lakshman, to protect Sita and never to leave her alone until he came back. But after a while the Mareechan started to scream in the voice of Lord Rama. From a distance, his brother Lakshman and wife Sita heard the cry and Sita urged Lakshman to go and help his big brother Rama. But Lakshman knew that it was a trick played by Mareechan and refused to go. Lakshman knew that his brother could not be defeated by Mareechan. But Sita insisted that Lakshman must leave her to go find and help Rama, but Lakshman refused, then Sita accused Lakshman of being attracted to her and she alleged the he was hoping to marry his brother’s wife, she also alleged that he wanted Raman to die. This saddened Lakshman and reluctantly, Lakshman left Sita saying that, “I’m very much upset and saddened by your unavoidable fate”. Lakshman left Sita and went in search of his brother Rama. At that time, Ravana came, kidnapped Sita and took her to Sri Lanka in his Pushpaka plain.

This story explains that due to the foolishness of Sita, she, her husband, husband’s brother and lot of others were put to immense difficulty, heartaches, war and led to her own destruction in the end.
In this world, there are a lot of signboards to help and direct us like Torah, The holy Bible, Quran, Ramayana, Bhagavat Gita, Vedas and many other sources. We can travel around this magnificent world and see different places of religious importance and other beautiful places. We may see and engage different types of people, see how they lived, study them and see the wonderful work of our lord. We must use these tools to enhance ourselves. The people who have money have no limits to know these things, but many of them choose the wrong side. They get afraid of the people and they lock themselves inside their bandboxes. All the positive points they have, will then become negative. Their folly is that they focus only on themselves and their comfort. At some point, they feel that everything in this world is made for them and their happiness. But once they start to focus on their inner self and start to look inside them, they will be cured.

Enjoy.

Regards.

Praise God.

I want to write about intention here, even though it scares me half to death. HAHA! I think knowing

I want to write about intention here, even though it scares me half to death. HAHA! I think knowing what your intentions are is one of the most important and helpful things in life. It is something that I would almost love to teach people. However, the thing that scares me so much about teaching people about intention is that I would also be held accountable for my own intentions. I would be scared out of my mind of doing something hypocritical, like teaching one way and then doing the opposite.

For now, I just want to write about it in this blog. The reason that I think intention is so important is that it affects your entire life experience. The problem that I see with intention though is that many different intentions could be operating simultaneously inside of you. And each intention has its own agenda, and they sometimes conflict with each other.

I have heard Gary Zukav talk about this in terms of being called splintered parts of your personality. I also have heard him say that they are frightened parts of your personality. I also like the term “wounded” parts of your personality. Gary Zukav says that one of the purposes of this life experience is to heal those wounded, or splintered, parts of your personality.

This is one of the main problems that I had with that movie, The Secret. I think they failed to mention how different parts of your personality could be operating inside of you. I think if you are not aware of these splintered aspects of yourself, then they can take over and sabotage your more positive intentions. For example, you could have an intention to start a business or quit an addiction or begin a healthy relationship or start an exercise program. However, if you are not aware of all the forces operating inside you, I think wounded parts of yourself that are rooted in the past can creep up and sabotage your efforts to do those “positive” things.

I’m pretty sure it was Carl Jung who called those wounded parts of your personality “the shadow” (well, that is just how I interpreted it). For example, maybe a parent told you that you weren’t good enough when you were a child. Or maybe you were teased at school by your peers for not dressing the “right” way. Or some other person who you thought had authority or power over you might have convinced you that you were somehow inadequate or unlovable. I think so many factors go into shaping how each individual is brought up as a child. And I think so many faulty belief systems can be implanted into your brain and conditioned into your psyche.

I think so many of those childhood wounds, if they are not dealt with, become stored inside the actual cell tissue of the body. If they continue to be repressed long into adulthood, I think they can become disease processes and they can actually kill you over time. And I think these wounds are essentially your “shadow” aspects. They come to the surface when you are trying to “do good” in your current life.

Like I mentioned above, let’s say you wanted to do something positive for yourself, like start a business. But if you have some old memory from childhood where your mother or father told you that you aren’t good enough, I think that memory can take over your mind and find a way to sabotage your efforts. This is what I mean by competing intentions. On one hand, you have an intention to start a business. But that old wound that was never fully addressed or acknowledged also has its own intention, which is to prove that you are not good enough. So, right when you are about to make some important business transaction with a client, you might get set off and lash out at the client, resulting in the business deal to fall through. That would be an example of how an old wound can sabotage your current life.

Similarly, let’s say you are trying to lose weight. But at the same time you have some old wound from childhood where your mother or father said to you, “Oh, you are always going to be fat. You have fat genes! You come from a family of fat people. Just get used to it.” I think a wound like that, if it is not fully looked at, acknowledged, felt, and then released, can interfere with your intention to lose weight.

So, yeah. This aspect of intention, and how old wounds can sabotage your efforts to create a happy life for yourself, is something that I wish was more discussed. I think you can have all the intention in the world to get rich, find true love, get a great job, eat healthy, exercise, etc. But if you have not fully dealt with wounds from the past, I think those wounds will definitely come to the surface at those very moments when you are on the cusp of a breakthrough, or right when you are about to succeed. This is why I think it is so important and helpful to be aware of old wounds, and challenge them before their intentions can interfere with your current plans for yourself.

Lastly, I just want to say that I think those “shadow” intentions are almost always rooted in issues of feeling unworthy, unlovable, inferior, flawed, or somehow inadequate as a human being. I don’t think you can ever truly succeed until those feelings are fully dealt with.
