Twilight Eclipse , winner of the GII McKnight Stakes at Calder 2 back at 1 1/2 mile repeated that winning performance at that same 1 1/2 mile distance over a “firm” Gulfstream Park turf course in today’s $150,000, GII Pan American Stakes, for older male turfers by 4 going away lengths!

Ioya Bigtime, was back those 4 lengths for 2nd, defending champ Newsdad, was back another 1 1/2 length for 3rd and 4 1/2 lengths in front of Belo Acteon who filled in the super spot here today!

Data Link, and Get Stormy , both GI turfing winners will headline this Saturday’s $500,000, GII Fourstardave Hcp turfer for 4yo’s and up, going just a mile, out on the Saratoga Mellon course!

Data Link, winner of the GI Maker’s Mile and GII Monmouth Cup this year will find this Saratoga 1-mile turfer right up his alley here on Saturday!

Get Stormy, will probably be loose on the lead, as always and who knows maybe he can steal this one on the front end as happens here at Saratoga often enough in 1-mile turfers!

Wise Dan, looks like kind of an odd starter here on Saturday and does have some turf form, but is coming off that heart-breaking lose to Ron the Greek last out in the GI Stephen Foster at Churchill!

Right One, is a turfing grade stakes veteran runner with G/S wins and board hits on a well-travelled, turfing resume!

Guys Reward, winner of the GII Firecracker last out is always a board threat with a very long turfing resume!

Upgrade, bested defending champ Right One last out in the GIII Jaipur Stakes last month at Belmont Park and Corporate Jungle, winner of 4 of his last 5, including the GIII Appleton at Gulfstream and ran a blazing fast 1:32.3 mile over the Monmouth Park turf last out in winning the Elkwood Stakes!

Old Man Verse Virgin: Wimbledon Showdown

One thing is clear whomever wins Wimbledon this SUNDAY will be making history this year. Andy Murray will be making history for England being the first Brit to win since 1936. It’s kind of ironic that they hold this event yet seems to kind of suck at it. Murray advanced today after beating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 on Friday in the semifinals. Murray has never won a final before so he’s virgin. And for the country of England he definitely needs to get his cherry popped.

He will be facing fellow history maker and old man Roger Federer. I use the term old-man loosely since he is only 30-years old. Federer beat defending champ Novak Djokovic 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. This is Federer’s 8th time in a Wimbledon final. And he’s won 6 times so far and looking to make it 7.

So the question becomes who do you support? Do you support the guy whose done it 6 times or the guy whose never done it? Personally I think we should bandwagon behind Murray. Poor Britain that host this thing year after year to keep losing. With that said I kind of think Federer has got this one in the bag. Murray has only played in 3 major finals and 2 of them against Federer. And Federer won. So it’s not looking promising.

It's an all ladies day card at Gulfstream Park this Saturday

Tomorrow at beautiful Gulfstream Park is an all Ladies Day race card with 3 big Graded Stakes on tap, in the GII Davona Dale Stakes for the 3yo ladies, GIII Very One Stakes for the older lady turfers and the $100,000 GIII Sabin Stakes, going 1 1/16 mile , for the older girls will showcase two of the top older lady runners in training in 2011.

Free Past Performances,

Royal Delta, the 2011 Ladies Classic winner comes out for her first run of the 2012 racing season and looks to be in top form with just a bit of winter rust to work off and is the 6/5 favorite here.

In 2011, Awesome Maria was going places after rolling off 4 consecutive G/S wins in the first half of 2011 but was sidelined with by a season ending injury after her victory in the GI Ogden Phipps Hcp up at Belmont Park last June!

Trainer Todd Pletcher has been bring this race’s defending champ back slowly for this date and if Mr. Todd feels she ready well we all know how Mr. Todd has had the run of this place all meet long here at Gulfstream and Awesome Maria is his prize female pupil, so 8/5 on the M/L line is a bit gifty to us off the long layoff!

Groupie Doll, who had a good 2011 with a G/S win and a pair of good 2nd’s in the Charles Town Oaks and the GII Raven Run at Keeneland. Groupie Doll has been busy at Gulfstream this winter running in a pair of $100,000 Aoc’s, winning the first and a good 2nd to Boys At Tosconova in her last out! Groupie Doll should find her way to the board in this group of five older lady runners.

So 5 lovely ladies are coming out for this GIII adventure here on Saturday!
