Ok I am sad that Ishtar didn’t make it to the finals, I am surprised that Israel made it but they trully improved their presence (hot boys work better on the background), I loved Armenia, Greece was shinning. The worst thing though this year was the presentation of the artists as it always is. Every single one of them is something like a child prodigy, multi talented, multi successful. This year I cannot even remember how many super talents parade on the set, too bad probably no one will ever leave his country’s borders. Even our Kalomira don’t have any chance to compete with all the other Brineys around the world, plus we know how afraid all this local Kings and Queens are afraid to risk their throne.

I remember in 2006 fans sayingthings about Sibel Tüzün that she is one of the two biggest superdivas of Turkey and that she is in compettiton with Sertab (2003 Turkeys’ represenatnt), but when I visited Turkey people were saying “Tüzün is no Supersatr” and no album of hers had been released the last decade. Still the greatest of all was the Kate Ryan case.

Kate Ryan was the one representing Belgium in 2006, was one of the sure winners but when you have no talent in your life a good and up beat song won’t save you. She couldn’t move on stage, the choreography didn’t work, she was trying to find her steps and if you show your legs be sure of them.

Kate Ryan was supposed to have worked with Mylene Farmer. Of course the whole thing about this thing was that Kate Ryan had covered some songs of Mylene Farmer, adding a little on the bit and destroying it completely. So had Libertine, that she sung ok in a kitch video, nothing compared with the blockbusters of Mykene Fatrmer (it lasts 10 minutes and is like a short film)

After that Mylene fired her agent who gave her phone number to little bimbos. And Kate also covered Desenchantee that is actually destroying any good part of the songs, without even tryingto change anything. So a song talking about a disapointed generation loosing her ideals and her believes ends up like a stupid lovesong sung by a bimbo in an empty city. What is true is that Tout est Chaos

The great thing with kate Ryan is that despite her big failure in the Eurovision Song Contest, she went on and worked with great names as well. She worked with Jean-Michel Rivat and Desireless to a great song called

Voyage Voyage

Oops sorry it is another atonic and rhythmless cover of Desirelss international hit, that in the 80’s had a better video than the new one, and has already been covered five times. Kate’s version travells from the bedroom to the pool and shows bikini’s proving that you don;t have to be a model to wear them and that life is so travelling.

Then she worked with the great Michel Berger, who has written songs for so many French artists and was a great recognition for the young Kate Ryan to work with him, singing Ella Elle L’a

Oh wait Michel Berger died in 1992 and the song actually was released in 1987 by Berger’s wife France Gall and was a big hit bag then and a tribute to Ella Fidgerald. Ryan’s version probably talks about her friend Ella who obviously has a boyfriend and Kate is happy, that took a plane by herself and goes out to find someone like Ella’s. Kate is so talented at serving, at drinking, at playing the slutty stewardress and she also can fly an airlane. Air France a new talent came your way.

Yes Eurovision creates superstars but only for the 30 second of the introduction video. After that  chaos……

Kate Ryan stelt binnenkort haar nieuwe album “Free” voor. De cd zal in niet minder dan 22 landen op de markt gebracht worden. Spanje en Zweden krijgen daarbij zelfs de primeur, want daar zal de cd al op 26 mei in release gaan. België volgt op 30 mei. Op de cd staan onder meer de hits “Voyage”, “L.I.L.Y.” en de hitsingle-in-wording “Ella Elle l’a”. Nadat France Gall in 1987 al hoge toppen scheerde met het nummer, lijkt Kate Ryan hetzelfde te doen met de herwerkte versie. In Zweden staat de single al op de tweede plek in de hitlijsten na amper twee weken. Dat is een verbetering van haar vorige record, want met “Désenchantée” bereikte ze ‘maar’ de vierde plaats.

(care fost lansata in mai putine tari) si cea mai recenta, intitulata “Ella, elle, l’a”.
