This week, I’ve been rather self indulgent and got the girls to dedicated their recommendations to my first love – dance music.

Whilst my choice may not be an all-time favourite, I’ve picked it as not only do I love it but it’s stubbornly refused to get out of my head all week.  Listen to it once and you’ll know exactly why.

Last week, we went a bit film crazy and with lots of suggested flicks to watch, it seemed fitting to dedicated Friday recommends to movie soundtracks. Find out what the girls chose and which blockbuster or B movie made it to the list. Enjoy.

So we flew in for a concert — maybe my favorite pop diva from Greece, Despina Vandi. Her voice is amazingly strong and versatile, her presence on stage hypnotic, her beauty intoxicating. And I’m a big old ‘Mo. Can you imagine what the straight guys were feeling.

And I was thinking — how can such a small country produce so many top pop stars? Same with places like Montreal. One thing is clear — when people live proudly in their culture and support their artists, their musicians, their writers, great things happen. A dollar spent at a concert or purchasing a CD is never wasted.

Support the ones who help us see, help us hear, help us feel. Or someday we may all forget how.

ATB Finally we can discover the tracks from the Andre next album, who will be called “Future Memories” and will have 26 tracks. The album is the forth material from ATB career, a double CD compilation, with the second CD being “ambient” in type, the release will be on May 2009.

Ce credeti? Ce ziceti? e o “JMEKERA”? e “MIJTO” asa?

Albumul lui Schiller “Sehnsucht” (Dor) a fost lansat in Germania in nenumarate versiuni, cu DVD, cu bonus CD, cu CD live, cu tot felul. Se pare ca a fost lansat acum si in Romania, ca si CD simplu, insa contine printre altele colaborarile lui cu Kim Sanders, September, Tarja Turunen, Despina Vandi si Xavier Naidoo. Din pacate piesa “Lonely” cu Damae (Fragma) nu e inclusa pe editia lansata in Romania. De aceea o sa imi procur albumul direct din Germania, e mult mai complet, mult mai scump, am mult mai multe optiuni…

CD-ul e totusi destul de scump si in Romania, undeva in jur de 45-50 lei. Si e vorba de un singur CD. Sa vad si eu cine il cumpara…romanilor li se pare mult 20 lei, d’apai 50.

Kate RyanWas last night on the concert organised by Unicef called Stars of europe , the show was on Bruxelles. Kate performed 2 songs the new single I surrender & Ella Ella l’a live.
On Unicef concert performed also and the swedish pop Robyn.

Laurent Wolf born in 1971 in Toulouse, is a French Tribal-house producer and DJ. In Europe was known for his single “No Stress” . The new material from the french dj is called “Wash My World” and the new single is called the same like the album.

Ayer día 12 salió a la venta el último álbum de la griega Helena Paparizou titulado “Vrisko To Logo Na Zo”. El cd contien 12 temas en los cuales se incluyen el primer single “Porta Gia Ston Ourano” y el sorpendente dueto de Helena con la Mari de Chambao “Papeles Mojados”.

En el Myspace de Helena Paparizou se pueden escuchar 7 de esos 12 temas de su nuevo álbum y realmente los temas que hay son increiblemente buenos.

Mi è tornata in mente quando, qualche sera fa, sono stato in un ristorante greco. Tra un dolmades e un boccone di mussakà ascoltavo la musica di sottofondo, che poi è sempre la stessa in ogni ristorante greco, questa via di mezzo tra la pizzica tarantina e la musica araba, e pensavo ai video di Despina Vandi che M., noto intenditore di roba frocia naïf ed etnica, mi somministrava via Youtube.
Non so se mi ricorda Diamanda Galas perchè sono condizionato dalla sua nazionalità o perché le somiglia davvero. Deve essere comunque una buona valvola di sfogo per le frocie elleniche, penalizzate dal clima poco friendly di un paese che avrebbe qualcosa da imparare perfino dalla nostra teocrazia vaticana, in fatto di emancipazione omosessuale.
Il suo status di icona gay mi è stato più volte confermato da conoscenze greche e da chi bazzica la Grecia. Ma non ce ne sarebbe stato bisogno. Il video qui sotto dice chiaramente che è lei la Ciccone dell’Egeo.

Nu pot să mă gândesc decât cu zâmbetul pe buze la recent încheiatele şi decernatele premii MTV România. De ce? Pentru că ni s-a demonstrat încă o dată (parcă mai era nevoie?) că show-bizz-ul românesc este la pământ. De această dată, la propriu. Betty cea Afonă (nu aşa se numea telenovela?) de la Etnic ne-a oferit şansa de a vedea în direct noua sa coregrafie, cu tentă de break-dance şi capoera. Cea în care i-a fugit scena de sub picioare (care s-au împrăştiat aleatoriu, în direcţii diferite), iar ea a aterizat forţat în picaj. Cu toţii am fost daţi pe spate în faţa acestei demonstraţii de talent, dar cred că pe ea a durut-o mai tare. Bine că nu a căzut în cap, deşi nu cred că s-ar fi observat vreo diferenţă. Mare noroc că există gravitaţia altfel, cine ştie cât mai stătea fata pe scenă. Şi poate că aveam şi noi parte de o cădere, de această dată, nervoasă. Nici Pepe nu s-a lăsat mai prejos încercând, la rândul său, coregrafia mai-sus amintită, rezultatul fiind acelaşi. Probabil, o fi crezut că e vorba de jocul “Ce face unul, fac toţi”. Ce să-i faci, măi, Pepe, aşa e în muzică. Acum eşti deasupra tuturor, peste o clipă poţi ajunge jos, călcat în picioare de toţi.  Oricum, meritai, că prea mare a fost coincidenţa atunci când Zăvoranca ţi-a dat premiu tocmai ţie. Revenind la oile noastre (pardon, la vedetele noastre), trebuie să amintesc de tentativa “băieţilor de băieţi” de la Akcent de a infirma zvonurile legate de apropierea (mai mult decât firească) dintre ei, sărutând-o pe roşcata de la Class. Sărăcuţa de ea era atât de confuză, încât le-a mai şi mulţumit pentru “prestaţie”. Cel mai mult m-a impresionat belgianul Danzel care, după ce a spart topurile în întreaga lume, s-a gândit ca, în ţara noastră, să spargă…scena. Poate ar trebui ca melodia care l-a consacrat să se numească “Pump it down” deoarece, în urma salturilor (deh, la ei coregrafiile sunt altfel), ne-a părăsit pentru puţin timp, trecând direct prin scenă. Într-adevăr, cel mai deştept cedează. Nu pot decât să fiu mândru de ai noştri pentru că, cel puţin, ei au rămas la nivelul solului. Nici organizatorii nu au fost cu mult deasupra invitaţilor. Deşi au anunţat că mult-aşteptata Despina Vandi nu poate veni din cauza unor probleme medicale, am aflat că ea a susţinut un concert într-un club din Salonic, în acea seară. Era normal ca fata să accepte 20.000 de euro pentru un concert în Grecia, decât să vină într-o ţară în care nici măcar o simplă scenă nu mai rezistă în faţa play-back-ului. Avea dreptate Churchill când spunea că “succesul înseamnă să mergi din eşec în eşec, fără să-ţi pierzi din entuziasm”. Să sperăm că vecinii noştri din Ucraina ne vor învăţa ce înseamnă ideea de spectacol, la mult trâmbiţatul Eurovision. Numai să-i controleze pe cei de la Sistem la plecare, că nu degeaba şi-au luat butoaiele cu ei, în ţara în care curge votca la robinet.

P.S. Fosta “bombonică”, Cream, a declarat că merge la biserică destul de des. Şi în zadar, că tot nu se lipeşte de vreun concert pe acolo. Cu toate cele 53 de kilograme ale ei, calitate superioară…
