TV Audience in Washington, D.C. Metro Area Prefers Watching Russia Today To Other Foreign TV News in Prime Time

According to the survey by Nielsen Media Research, Washington, D.C. DMA* TV audience prefers watching news on Russia Today TV (RT) in prime time, rather than news on Al Jazeera English, Deutsche Welle, France 24, Euronews and CCTV-9 PRWeb.com reports.

Nielsen reported that RT’s daily audience is over 6.5 times bigger than that of Al Jazeera English, the second most popular source of TV news among foreign broadcasters in the US after BBC. RT’s monthly audience is 5 times bigger than that of Deutsche Welle.

RT is a relative newcomer to a well-saturated TV news market, and its budget is a fraction of that of any of its competitors among international TV news broadcasters.

“We are pleased that residents of Washington and its suburbs – in other words, the people who generally define American politics – often prefer to get their news from RT. We believe it proves again that the channel has chosen the right strategy. From the very beginning we’ve been aiming to show our viewers news that they won’t be able to find on other channels. It’s nice to know that such an approach is proving attractive for the most educated and influential part of the American viewing audience,” – said Margarita Simonyan, RT’s Editor-in-Chief.

Nielsen Media Research carried out the research in July 2009, which focused on TV-audience of Washington DMA.

RT is available to almost five million viewers in the Washington Area on the following platforms: MHz Networks 5: Comcast Cable, Cox Cable, RCN Cable, Dish Network and Verizon FIOS TV.

* Washington DMA Designated Market Area, is a term coined by Nielsen Media Research to define groupings of mutually exclusive television marketing areas. The Washington DMA in 2008 consists of 33 counties and seven independent cities, in four states and the District of Columbia, with a total of 2,334,800 households.

About the research: 4574 respondents participated in the poll, which was conducted by phone from May to July, 2009. The respondents were subscribers of leading TV operators such as Comcast, RCN, Cox, DirecTV, Dish Network, who know RT and have access to it among other subscription channels.

Men and women (age 18 and above) were polled. Information about social membership: 13.4% work in management, 10.7% own companies and businesses. Over 10% of respondents said that their annual income amounted to $200,000 or more.

Segue um e-mail com proposta de parceria para o Brasil. No dia seguinte chega a resposta, informal, mas imediata: “Tudo bem?????”, começa o e-mail. Dá conta de muitos afazeres mas está muito interessada na ideia e trata do assunto assim que tiver tempo. Óptimo!

Um país desenvolvido

Segue um e-mail para o Ministério do Interior alemão com um pedido de informação. É quinta-feira. Horas depois chega a resposta para o meu telemóvel: “Recebemos o seu pedido, queríamos saber se podemos enviar a resposta na segunda-feira, porque o colega responsável está doente. Nós podemos dar os dados que precisa, mas ele tem informações mais completas.” Quase faço vénias ao telefone.

Um país…?

Segue, na segunda-feira, um e-mail de proposta de parceria para Portugal. Segue para 3 endereços, “sugestoes@”, “questoes@”, geral@”. Na quinta-feira, face ao silêncio, telefono. Começa a odisseia: “Siiiiiim? Só um momento!” Chego a outra linha, explico a situação, dizem-me “isso não é comigo, só um bocadinho que vou passar ao doutor tal.”

Falo com o “doutor” tal que me diz que não me pode ajudar até que um dos três e-mails enviados seja filtrado para ele.

É o que se chama trabalhar em ambiente multicultural.

Το δίλημμα του Μπάρακ Ομπάμα στην Ασία

Στην περιοδεία στην Ασία ο Μπ. Ομπάμα θα προσπαθήσει να υλοποιήσει δύο στόχους: την προσέγγιση του Πεκίνου και από την άλλη τη σύσφιξη των σχέσεων με τους παραδοσιακούς συμμάχους στην περιοχή.

Ο Αμερικανός Πρόεδρος κατά την άφιξή του στο Τόκυο 

  «Η Αμερική επέστρεψε» – με την πρόταση αυτή η Αμερικανίδα υπουργός Εξωτερικών Χίλαρι Κλίντον ανακοίνωνε κατά τη διάρκεια της υπογραφής της συμφωνίας συνεργασίας μεταξύ ΗΠΑ και της Ένωσης των χωρών της ΝΑ Ασίας (ASEAN) την αλλαγή πορείας της αμερικανικής πολιτικής στην Ασία επί προεδρίας Ομπάμα. Στο περιθώριο της συνόδου κορυφής του Οικονομικού Φόρουμ Ασίας-Ειρηνικού (APEC) στις 15 Νοεμβρίου ο Αμερικανός πρόεδρος Μπάρακ Ομπάμα θα συναντηθεί για πρώτη φορά με εκπροσώπους των χωρών της ΝΑ Ασίας. 

 «Με την κίνηση αυτή ο πρόεδρος δείχνει ότι οι σχέσεις ΗΠΑ Ασίας αποτελούν πλέον προτεραιότητα για την Ουάσιγκτον», τονίζει ο Ρόμπερτ Σάτερ, ειδικός σε ζητήματα Ασίας στο Πανεπιστήμιο Τζορτζτάουν της Ουάσιγκτον: «Η κυβέρνηση Ομπάμα προσεγγίζει τις σχέσεις με τις ασιατικές χώρες με μεγαλύτερη ευελιξία αφήνοντας έτσι περιθώριο σε μια μεγαλύτερη διάδραση με τους ηγέτες της Ένωσης των χωρών της ΝΑ Ασίας. Η στάση συμβάλλει αναμφίβολα στην προσέγγιση των ΗΠΑ στην ευρύτερη περιοχή». 

 Ιδιαίτερο βάρος αποδίδεται στις σχέσεις με την Κίνα 

 Τα τελευταία χρόνια οι χώρες της ΝΑ Ασίας παράλληλα με την οικονομική τους ανάπτυξη έγιναν πιο ανεξάρτητες από τη Δύση. Τα μέλη της Ένωσης των χωρών της ΝΑ Ασίας συνεργάζονται πλέον στενότερα με την Ιαπωνία, την Ινδία, την Νότια Κορέα και την Αυστραλία. Με την περιοδεία του ο Μπάρακ Ομπάμα επιδιώκει τη σύσφιξη των σχέσεων με τις χώρες της ΝΑ Ασίας. Ταυτόχρονα όμως θέλει να προσεγγίσει περισσότερο και το Πεκίνο. Ας μην ξεχνάμε ότι οι ΗΠΑ είναι ο μεγαλύτερος εισαγωγέας κινεζικών προϊόντων και ταυτόχρονα ο μεγαλύτερος πιστωτής της αμερικανικής οικονομίας. Επιπλέον το Πεκίνο απεδείχθη αξιόπιστος εταίρος των ΗΠΑ στην αντιμετώπιση της οικονομική κρίσης.

 Κατά την άποψη του Πολιτειολόγου Ζουεβού Γκου από το Πανεπιστήμιο της Βόννης η Ουάσιγκτον βρίσκεται ενώπιον διλήμματος: «Από τη μια πλευρά οι Αμερικανοί θέλουν στενότερη συνεργασία με την Κίνα – κυρίως σε ζητήματα στρατιωτικού χαρακτήρα, αλλά η επιδίωξη αυτή προκαλεί τη δυσαρέσκεια της Ιαπωνίας, του παραδοσιακού εταίρου των Αμερικανών στην περιοχή». Ο Αμερικανός πρόεδρος Μπάρακ Ομπάμα θα πρέπει συνεπώς κατά τη διάρκεια της περιοδείας του να βελτιώσει αφενός τις σχέσεις με την Κίνα και αφετέρου να ανταγωνιστεί το Πεκίνο για το ποιος θα έχει μεγαλύτερη επιρροή στην ΝΑ Ασία.

“Miteinander, nicht gegeneinander” staat te lezen op een van de plaquettes op de Alexanderplatz in Berlijn. Tegen wil en dank stonden de Berlijners ooit tegenover elkaar, gescheiden door een letterlijke muur van onbegrip. Nu werken de Berlijners samen en genieten ze bewust van betere tijden. Dat zie je in de indrukwekkende nieuwe architectuur, maar ook aan een willekeurig tafereeltje: een man (vroeger West-Duitser) en een vrouw (vroeger Oost-Duitser) die samen op een terras aan de Gendarmenmarkt genieten van een glas wijn. Berlijn voelt als een gelukkige stad.

Bondskanselier Angela Merkel van de BRD, van Oost-Duitse origine, een van de machtigste vrouwen in de wereld, getuigt in de Frankfurter Rundschau:

Der Fall der Mauer am 9. November 1989 war für uns in der DDR ein unbeschreibliches Ereignis. Er war der Anfang vom Ende der SED-Diktatur. Er bedeutete das Ende des Kalten Krieges. Ich selbst habe diesen Abend in Berlin miterlebt. Ich sah Schabowskis Pressekonferenz im Fernsehen und rief sofort meine Mutter an, um sie an eine alte Verabredung zu erinnern: Wenn uns die Mauer nicht mehr am Reisen hindern würde, würden wir, so sagten wir immer in meiner Familie, im Kempinski Austern essen gehen. Wir rechneten allerdings beide nicht damit, dass sich die Grenze noch am selben Abend öffnen würde.

Also ging ich wie jeden Donnerstagabend in die Sauna. Als ich zurückkam, hörte ich, der Grenzübergang Bornholmer Straße sei offen. Ich bin sofort hingelaufen und habe wie tausend andere Menschen den Grenzübergang nach Westen überquert. Ich empfand – wie alle anderen – eine unglaubliche Freude. Der Empfang in West-Berlin war sehr, sehr herzlich. In einer wildfremden Wohnung haben wir mit einer Dose Bier auf die Maueröffnung angestoßen. Dann bin ich wieder nach Hause nach Ost-Berlin gegangen.

Vandaag nemen ook scholen en kunstenaars van hier deel aan het grote dominoproject in Berlin. In ’creatieve herinnering’ aan de Wende, de Umbruch, deze revolutie die het einde van de Koude Oorlog, het einde van het IJzeren Gordijn, inluidde. Een mijlpaal van vrede en vrijheid in onze geschiedenis.

Op zoek naar schrijvers over de Mauerfall koos ik de boektrailer van de Duitse schrijver Renatus Deckert, en twee gerenommeerde Duitsland- en Berlijnkenners uit Vlaanderen en Nederland: Geert van Istendael n.a.v. de docu Terug naar Berlijn, en Cees Nooteboom met Berlijn 1989 – 2009, een actualisering van zijn Berlijnse notities. De laatste twee auteurs waren dezer dagen in Antwerpen: Cees Nooteboom op het festival De Nachten dat dit jaar speciaal in het teken van Berlijn liep, Geert van Istendael op de Boekenbeurs.

De Val van de Muur in de Duitse les? Je kunt je laten onderdompelen in de digitale overvloed … Voor didactisch gesneden brood verwijs ik graag naar aanbevelingen van Fachberater Joachim Jost van Goethe-Institut Brüssel die onlangs nog op de Tag der deutschen Sprache van CNO-Universiteit Antwerpen aantrekkelijk en degelijk lesmateriaal presenteerde. Paul Goossen van de Nederlandse vakcommunity Duits beveelt het online Digizine 3 van de methode Duits Neue Kontakte (Noordhoff) aan, voor de democratische gelegenheid voor iedereen gratis toegankelijk.

Een avondlijke update

Eerlijk gezegd overviel me tijdens het bloggen vanmorgen dezelfde gedachte als die ik vanavond bij Aïda op de Blog der Zuchten las:

Ik herinner me ook nog als gisteren wat nu geschiedenis is. En wie ooit Berlijn bezocht kan dit niet gedaan hebben zonder de immense impact ervan gevoeld te hebben.

Maar bij elke reportage of documentaire was er bij mij ook constant die gedachte die haast niet in de media komt. De gedachte aan al die andere mensonterende en misdadige muren die vandaag nog bestaan en zelfs nog verder gebouwd worden. Of zullen we voor uitgebreide media-aandacht misschien nog 50 jaar moeten wachten, als de twintigste verjaardag van de val van deze muren zal gevierd worden.

Sunt lucruri care au mai fost spuse în România. Nu prea au fost luate în seamă deoarece pe scena publică dâmbovițeană nu argumentele contează, ci spectacolul de lumini. O analiză clară făcută de la Berlin. Una care scoate la lumină comedia jucată de colaboratorul Securității, Traian Băsescu, atunci când a condamnat comunismul. Numai pe hârtie. Culmea e că cei care ar trebui să se simtă frustrați și păcăliți tac vinovat și pupă mâna umil lui Zeus. În frunte cu Vladimir Tismăneanu…

Un fragment dintr-o analiză Radio Deutsche Welle:

Preşedintele a evitat anumite recomandări ale Comisiei prezidenţiale TismăneanCu toate acestea, Preşedintele în exerciţiu nu a reuşit să risipească toate circumspecţiile care l-au înconjurat şi, într-o oarecare măsură, se pare că a contribuit el însuşi la alimentarea neîncrederii. Mai întîi s-a remarcat că preşedintele nu a preluat în discursul său din Parlament toate recomandările Comisiei prezidenţiale. Nici nu era obligat să o facă, dar omisiunile sînt semnificative. Una dintre acestea se referă la desfiinţarea pensiilor uriaşe ale foştilor ofiţeri ai Securităţii comuniste. Comisia prezidenţială recomanda în finalul Raportului ca „foştii activişti şi comunişti de frunte, foştii conducători ai Securităţii, ai Miliţiei şi ai Ministerului de Interne, ai « Justiţiei » comuniste, foştii torţionari să nu poată beneficia de pensii peste nivelul minim al populaţiei“. 

Preşedintele a evitat însă subiectul acesta şi mai tîrziu. Recent, PD-L şi deopotrivă preşedintele Traian Băsescu au declanşat o campanie politică pe tema „pensiilor nesimţite“, dar nici de data aceasta nu a fost vorba de veteranii fostei Securităţi, ci de membrii corpurilor legislative. Raportul Comisiei prezidenţiale spunea totuşi la un moment dat că „în cazul Securităţii a fost vorba de o instituţie criminală şi teroristă de la început şi pînă la sfîrşit“.

Preşedintele a dinamizat în mod real predarea arhivelor fostei Securtăţi către CNSAS, dar s-a reţinut faptul că mai multe zeci de mii de dosare, aşa numite de „securitate naţională“  au rămas pe mai departe în custodia serviciilor secrete şi că nu există nici o garanţie cu privire la corectitudinea acestui proces.

Preşedintele a asistat pasiv la amputarea CNSAS

Un alt aspect însă care sporit neîncrederea a fost desemnarea, în Colegiul CNSAS, de către PD (grupare care nu a ieşit niciodată de sub influenţa preşedintelui), a judecătorului Corneliu Turianu, care a părut să încerce dinamitarea instituţiei din interior. Mai tîrziu, CNSAS urma să fie amputat de o decizie cel puţin discutabilă a Curţii Constituţionale, dar preşedintele, care condamnase comunismul, nu a rostit nici o şoaptă în apărarea acestei instituţii. Atipicul şi neconvenţionalul Traian Băsescu, care nu ezitase să rostească aspre condamnări la adresa unor judecători de la Înalta Curte, de data aceasta a tăcut cît se poate de convenţional. Părea să se confirmă că preşedintele nu a simpatizat cu adevărat CNSAS şi nici misiunea pentru care fusese creat.

În orice caz deschiderea arhivelor i-a creat lui însuşi anumite dificultăţi. În toamna lui 2006 de exemplu, preşedintele Traian Băsescu numea în calitate de consilier pe Gabriel Arteni, dar la numai 24 de ore revoca ordinul de numire, în urma articolelor din presă care semnalau legăturile acestuia cu Securitatea. De atunci circumspecţiile au luat amploare ca şi speculaţiile mai mult sau mai puţin motivate.

Iată de ce preşedintele Traian Băsescu nu a reuşit de fapt să convingă că a trecut cu adevărat printr-un proces de lustraţie interioară. Subiectul trecutului comunist rămîne pe mai departe confuz şi nu îl avantajează cu adevărat.

“Forscher vermuten, dass viele der heutigen Babys 100 Jahre alt werden. Zumindest in den reichen Industrieländern steigt die Lebenserwartung kontinuierlich und sehr schnell. Das hat Folgen für die Gesellschaft. …”   Das war sehr interessant, über diese demografische Forschung zuhören. Ob das wirklich so sein würde, wer weiß? Meine Uroma lebte 98 Jahre, fast 100. Also der Text ist interessant genug.

Jeden Tag kann man hier die 11-Uhr-Nachrichten aus dem deutschen Radioprogramm  finden – langsam und verständlich gesprochen. Neben der Audio-Datei zum Herunterladen (MP3) finden Sie auch den vollständigen Text zum Ausdrucken. So kann man hier das Hörverstehen mit authentischen Materialien trainieren. Das finde ich sehr nützlich!

Deutsche Welle:   Top-Thema vom 15.09.2009 -  ” Hilfe für Analphabeten “

“Rund vier Millionen Menschen in Deutschland können nicht richtig lesen und schreiben. Weltweit sind es mehr als 770 Millionen. Ein Projekt des Bundesministeriums für Bildung will diesen Menschen helfen. …” (Analphabet/in, der/die – jemand, der nicht lesen und schreiben kann)

Das ist ein aktueller Text mit wichtigem Problem für das XXI. Jahrhundert!   “…Analphabetismus ist ein weltweites Problem. Seit 1970 ist die Analphabetenrate zwar von 37 Prozent auf 16 Prozent gesunken, allerdings zeigt der aktuelle Bildungsbericht der UNESCO, dass weltweit noch immer 75 Millionen Kinder keine Schule besuchen. Im internationalen Vergleich steht Deutschland auf Platz 41 der Analphabetenstatistik.”

Die Lexik im Text ist auch für andere Themen hilfsrich. Zum Beispiel: zuversichtlich sein; eingeschult werden, sich ein Herz fassen, etwas verheimlichen.

Meiner Meinung nach, unsere Schüler müssen auch über dieses Problem wissen.

Lights, camera, action! Those were the words that were often used at the Deutsche Welle (DW) Journalism Community Television training hosted by Bush Radio for the past two weeks.

We had the opportunity to watch the participants, taking pictures. Bush Radio interns also made cameo appearances in some of the pieces they were working on.

Participants came from Bay TV, from Richards Bay, Cape Town TV, based in Cape Town, Soweto TV from Soweto and Tshwane TV from Pretoria.

DW trainers, Patrick Benning and Frank Norden said they want to empower the participants from community television by giving them training and how to make good television.

“When one thinks of television you always imagine the glamorous life, you forget it involves hard work, like not having enough equipment and working volunteers” said Benning.

Bill Mbuyi of CTV gets down to the serious business of editing

Zanele Mthembu who is a producer from Soweto TV agreed with Benning. Mthembu added “there are difficulties that community television faces everyday, like people not pitching up for interviews”.

Working for a community radio station is similar to a community television station. Both share similar challenges, shortage of staff, no funding, lack of advertising and over worked staff.

There are a number of places to go online to read – and often listen to – the news in Bengali.

Most require you to first install Bengali fonts, though interestingly not the one site I’ve found that’s actually based in Bengal.

The sites after the jump are the ones I plan to visit regularly when spare time, and the demands of a two-month old baby, allow. Hopefully this will provide useful practice to improve my reading in Bengali (it certainly has a long way to go at the moment!).

Century Sangbad – The West Bengal-based website. The news is in Bengali script, but displayed as a collection of images so you don’t need have installed Bengali fonts in order to view it, which is a nicely inclusive and user-friendly touch.

BBC Bangla – UK pubic broadcaster the BBC has a dedicated Bengali news section, which requires Bengali fonts but does come with pop-out audio players from which to listen to the news as well as read from the page.

Deutsche Welle – From the German newspaper’s website. I found this one through a saved search of Twitter – you can save searches through the Twitter website itself, or via third-party clients likes TweetDeck or Hootsuite. The Deutsche Welle site requires Bengali fonts to read and, as with the BBC site, offers the opportunity to listen to the news on a pop-out audio player.

Finally there’s NHK World – This is the Japanese broadcaster’s Bengali page, and again pop-out audio is also on offer. NHK World also do a daily 15 minute news podcast in Bengali, which I’ve previously written about here.

Das Top-Thema von 2.10 bei der Deutschen Welle hat mir sehr gefallen, ich finde es sehr aktuell. Nicht zum ersten Mal höre ich es, dass die Kinder im Alter von drei Jahren am besten die Fremdsprache aneignen.

Unsere Schule ist die spezialisierte Schule mit erweitertem Deutschunterricht seit der ersten Klasse. Die Kinder kommen in die erste Klasse mit 6 Jahren ( es gab Fälle auch mit 5). Und noch wir haben für die zukünftigen Erstklässler die Vorschule am Wochenende organisiert, wo man für sie sozusagen Probestunden in verschiedenen Fächer unterrichtet, auch in Deutsch ( und ich muss sagen, das war freiwilliger unbezahlter Start für die Lehrer ). Das motiviert sowohl die Schüler, als auch die Eltern, unsere Schule zu wählen. Die erste Sprache der Welt bleibt immer noch Englisch. Aber wenn die Eltern und ihre Kinder sehen, wie wir arbeiten und unterrichten, dann bleiben sie bei uns in der Schule und empfehlen sie auch den anderen Eltern. So lernen in unserer Schule die ganzen Familien – zum Beispiel ich unterrichte in verschiedenen Klassen den Geschwistern ( 6., 8. und 10. Klasse, ein Bruder und zwei seine Schwester). Sie haben Möglichkeit, einander zu helfen. So die älteren Kinder lehren ihre jüngere Geschwister Deutsch! Obwohl die noch keine Schule besuchen.

Und die Tochter von meinem Kollegen ( er und seine Frau unterrichten Deutsch) ist erst 19 Monate alt und sagt dem Vater zum Abschied “Tschüß!” auf Deutsch!  Weil sie es schon von ihren Eltern bei solchen Situationen gehört hat! Ist das nicht ein Wunder? Und das beweist das Einzige – die Fremdsprachen muss man lernen - je früher, desto besser!

I’ve been thinking a lot recently about how I should (re-)structure my Bengali study.

It’s the age old student trick of not studying for an exam until you have produced a colour-coded revision timetable, something that is usually completed the night before the first exam. But no matter.

Reading Bengali websites, and having the right fonts to allow me to do that, will eventually play a part in this. But I’m getting ahead of myself.

Have you ever visit a Bengali website and seen only rows and rows of the same strange character instead of Bengali script?

Thankfully there’s a simple solution – you need to install some additional fonts onto your computer.

Trivial Bytes has a good overview of this which, although from 2006,  still holds good. It includes links to Ekushey and two other alternative fonts, information on how install them and also information on how to type in Bengali once you have installed Bengali fonts. There are of course also instructions to be found on Wikipedia.

The fonts I finally got around to installing recently came from Ekushey and I use their Mac Bengali fonts (which can be found here). The Deutsche Welle site likes to two other Bengali fonts, with PC instructions, here.

Once that’s done you’ll be able to view sites produced in Bengali script, rather than an often clumsy transliterated version of the language. (For an example of clumsy transliteration just see one of my vocabulary lists.

Eu nu prea consider asta, avand in vedere ca eu niciodata nu am dat jos torrenti sau filme, ci doar am intrat pe cateva site-uri, si rareori mai ascult si un radio.Si intr-o zi am facut un giga si ceva, numai citind.

Fiecare cuvintel scris pe mess, fiecare poza incarcata pe site, fiecare filmulet flv de 2 minute de pe iutup(youtube)trebuie gestionate ca pe vremea lui raposatu.

De ce? Din cauza unor handicapati mintal care toata ziua downloadau filme, filme, filme(de categoria B–adica de tot cacatul) gen super tare comedie, fast and furious,,,…orice, dar sa fie cu masini, femei si impuscaturi, seriale de oameni ratati, tot felul de seriale, musai toate sezoanele, cu glume nici macar scabroase.Pe langa asta, aurolacii dadeau jos tot felul de filme porno si seturi de programe de zeci de giga, pe care apoi le tineau in seed in torrenti, ca sa faca ratie, cica…l00s3ri….pentru ca apoi sa mai poata downloada serialele lor de cacat si filmele lor de fecale la care sa stea sa se uita toata ziua si mai ales noaptea, comentand intre ei non-stop, din 3 in 3 secunde, pe marginea”capodoperelor” cinematografice si de televiziune, asa cum stiu ei mai bine, in limbaj academic, ca doar sunt studenti.

Ca sa nu mai vorbesc de cand era meci, ca blocati tot netul uitandu-va la meciul care parca va schimba viata in functie de deznodamant, la cum va manifestati.Cretinilor.Trogloditilor.

Nu ca voi, care veniti de la moldova aici, in octombrie, si mai plecati in vara.Hai sa va vad eu cum o sa mai faceti fata cu 14 Gb pe luna….Poate in felul asta o sa puneti in p00la mea mana pe o carte, jegosilor, sau spinarea la munca, si o sa renuntati la jocuri de cacat si filme de oligofreni…mars la munca, nu la cersit…

Dupa cum stiti, de la inceputul lunii iulie ne-au fost restrictionate aproape toate porturile, motiv pentru care nu mai pot fi accesate multe servicii (mai ales daca functioneaza pe porturi non-standard). Motivul pentru care am fost restrictionati este simplu: traficul exagerat facut de unii utilizatori ai retelei pe torenti si nu numai (trafic de ordinul sutelor de giga pana la cativa tera). Statistic vorbind 9% din utilizatori au facut peste 60% din traficul total, aspect care nu este deloc placut pentru ca din cauza lor au avut de suferit toti ceilalti.
- Incepand din anul universitar 2009-2010 se va pune limitare pe traficul facut, pe scurt, depasesti limita, nu mai ai acces la internet (nu se mai conecteaza PPPoE-ul). Limitarea va fi super de bun simt (va fi cu aproximativ 35% mai mare decat media din 2009-2010 (aprox. 14.7GB/luna/utilizator) facuta de toti utilizatorii (inclusiv de cei care au facut trafic exagerat)); adica pe aproape toti utilizatorii nu ii va afecta aceasta limitare, in schimb pe cei care obisnuiau sa faca trafic exagerat, sigur ii va afecta.
- La inceputul anului (pana se termina ‘febra’ activarilor) vor ramane tot limitarile de porturi care sunt deja. Dupa va fi activat sistemul de limitari de trafic si ni se vor scoate limitarile de porturi (am discutat deja de acest lucru cu cei din Politehnica si au fost de acord).
- Din calculele facute, limitarile de trafic vor fi de 5 GB/7 zile, respectiv 20GB/30 zile.
- Prin trafic se intelege Upload si Download adunat.
- Pe site-ul eRegie, in contul fiecarui utilizator, va fi adaugata o noua pagina cu statisticile de conectare/deconectare si trafic pentru ca sa stiti clar ce trafic ati facut si cat mai puteti face pentru a nu avea probleme cu conexiunea.
- V-am transmis acest lucru pentru ca, chiar daca la inceputul lunii va functiona limitarea de porturi, SE VA LUA IN CALCUL TRAFICUL FACUT DE FIECARE UTILIZATOR DE LA INCEPUTUL ANULUI UNIVERSITAR (practic de la prima conectare), deci, ATENTIE LA CAT TRAFIC FACETI!
- Cei care depasesc traficul respectiv NU vor avea conexiune la internet pana nu scade valoarea traficului facut per unitatea calculata (7 zile sau 30 zile) sub limita specificata. TRAFICUL ESTE PER n ZILE NU PER SAPTAMANA SAU LUNA pentru a se evita variatiile mari de trafic!
- Atentie: NU MAI FACETI TRAFIC EXAGERAT (in primul rand utilizand torentii si alte programe de acest gen) !
- Mai multe detalii despre limitari vor fi postate pe site dupa data de 15 octombrie.

INUMAN:

Limitarea va fi pusa la 10GB/30 zile si va intra in calcul incepand de luni, 19 octombrie 2009.

Ca parte buna la toata povestea asta este faptul ca vor fi scoase limitarile de porturi (ni s-a transmis ca se va face acest lucru tot luni, in jurul pranzului).

Modul de functionare al limitarii de trafic:
- Motorul de activat/dezactivat conturi (pe motiv de trafic) va rula in fiecare zi intre orele 5 si 6 dimineata.
- Traficul per 30 zile este calculat foarte simplu: azi (data n) se face suma traficului facut in ultimele 30 zile (adica de la n-30 pana la n) si, daca s-a depasit limita, contul este dezactivat (in mod automat).
- In acelasi timp, daca un cont, era dezactivat pe motiv de depasire a traficului, si motorul observa ca suma traficului facut in ultimele 30 de zile a revenit sub limita respectiva, este reactivat (tot in mod automat).
Exemple:
- faci azi un trafic care depaseste limita, incepand de maine, timp de 30 de zile nu ti se mai conecteaza PPPoE-ul.
- faci in primele 20 de zile un trafic care depaseste limita, incepand din ziua 21 nu ti se mai conecteaza PPPoE-ul; pana cand ? pana cand traficul pe ultimele 30 de zile scade sub limita (variaza in functie de cat trafic ai facut in primele 20 de zile).
Pe scurt: Daca ati depasit limita, contul de internet (PPPoE) va este dezactivat (automat) pana cand traficul scade sub limita respectiva pentru ultimele 30 de zile (indiferent daca va este dezactivat pentru 1 zi sau pentru 30 zile).

Va rugam frumos sa nu veniti la noi (eRegie) cu cereri / explicatii / etc. (indiferent de motiv) pentru a fi scoasa limitarea, pentru ca nu o vom putea solutiona (nu tine de noi solutionarea acestei probleme).
Va rugam sa ne intelegeti ca nici noua nu ne place aceasta limitare dar nu avem ce sa facem legat de ea. Cei care ne cunosc, mai mult sau mai putin, stiu foarte bine cat de mult ne-am batut capu’ pentru ca sa va oferim o conexiune la internet cat mai buna si cat mai putin limitata.
Daca aveti cereri pentru scoaterea limitarii va rugam sa va adresati direct la facultate (pentru ca sa ia legatura la rectorat) sau la rectorat (la serviciul de informatizare).

Dupa cele zise , citate si copiate de pe site ul eregie…nu m-ar mira sa apara asa, cam peste o luna, o luna si jumatate,cand se mai linistesc lucrurile(sau cand de abia se incing!?!) o firma, care, ca prin minune, sa ofere net nelimitat prin campusul regie.Ori prin Leu.Caci e o realitate ca aici e cea mai mare concentratie de utilizatori de internet(vorba aia…infrasctructura minima, randament, si, implicit , profit maximal).
