I’ve recently been converted to a fan of Dexter.  So far I’ve only made it through the first 2 episodes.

Dexter is a serial killer who only kills bad guys.  He’s careful and methodical about making sure that they really are evil people who have escaped justice.  He’s a sociopath who claims to have no feelings, to fake all of his emotional human interactions.  He dates a single mom.  They’re both terrified of being intimate.

And yes, I very much identify with the show.  All too often I find that I’ve missed some crucial bit of information and have to manage to fake my way through a situation.  And I am very much afraid of letting people into my life.  I show a startling lack of judgment at times.  Witness Psycho Stalker and Icks.

One of the things I love about Dexter is that he finds the single mom who’s been severely damaged by her past more attractive than the “normal” co-worker who’s after him.  There’s none of the usual BS about single mothers being desperate for a hook-up or un-able to meet their kids needs.  She might have a past but she’s a good mom and she’s not easy.  The difficulty of dating with kids in tow is tactfully but truthfully touched upon.  They finally get brave enough to kiss (although it is almost painfully obvious that both characters are still quite hesitant) when her son calls after getting sick at his friend’s house.

It’s a good show, good enough to earn a spot on my very meager TV viewing time.  Luckily I burrowed the DVD’s from a co-worker who understands that it might take me a while to get through the whole season.

Depois de uma semana muito intensa, dormindo muito e fazendo muita coisa, voltei. Todo ano é assim, por pelo menos uma semana eu esqueço todo o resto para me dedicar novamente a militância. Espero poder fazer mais do que isso no ano que vem. Mas não quero falar das eleições agora. Tampouco quero falar do meu último post, do meu trabalho ou das minhas confusões – acadêmicas e não acadêmicas. Quero apenas dizer que estou voltando… devagarinho, pq afinal, nunca tive pressa pra nada..

Minhas leituras estão mais ou menos em dia. Faltam apenas dois volumes para eu completar minha coleção de Sandman – justamente os dois primeiros (Prelúdios e Noturnos e Casa de Bonecas) -, tenho muitos filmes legais para assistir e estou acompanhando ansiosamente Dexter. Essa temporada está divina, no melhor sentido não bíblico que “divina” pode ter. No momento faltam dois livros na minha estante que eu não posso esquecer de buscar. Outros para estudar que vou precisar comprar (aliás, comprei Persépolis… definitivamente não terei como escolher minha melhor aquisição do ano…). Tenho só mais um mês com dois empregos (salários) e depois preciso muito descobrir algo que me dê uma grana extra. Fiquei mal acostumada…rs. Estou de olho em outros concursos… de preferência pro Rio.. quem sabe. E estou em um momento onde definir a minha vida, graças aos deuses, não é tão importante. Vou vivendo. Isso aí, apenas deixando o mundo acontecer.

Bem, organizei meu dia em casa. Cheguei, comi, cuidei das coisas da avon, escrevi no blog e agora vou trabalhar no projeto do mec. Quando ficar pronto posto os links pro pessoal ter acesso – afinal, essa é a ideia da coisa.

“Dexter” dá continuidade à sua surpreendente quarta temporada com mais um episódio sensacional. Outra vez, fui surpreendido com algo que deu um guinada total na história.

Após o ataque a Lundy e Debra, descobrimos que realmente o agente federal morreu e a pobre irmã de Dexter sobreviveu com mais um trauma para carregar nas costa. Já não bastasse o “Ice Truck Killer”, o primeiro abandono de Lundy e o retalhamento de Anton, Debra tem outra tragédia com relacionamentos amorosos. Aliás, gostaria de destacar a cena em que ela deixa tudo o que está sentindo aflorar, numa conversa com Dexter no estacionamento onde foi atacada. A atriz Jennifer Carpenter deu um show e mostrou que Michael C. Hall não é o único destaque em atuações na série. E falando em destaques nas atuações, John Litgow está muito assustador na pele do Trinity, um perfeito inimigo para Dexter.

E o que falar das tramas paralelas? Quinn voltou a sair com a jornalista, o que provavelmente vai dar em mais merda. Batista e LaGuerta estão passando por maus bocados agora que foi exigida a transferência dele para longe do departamento de homicídios. As confusões amorosas da delegacia não param de aparecer. E nem vou falar do fato da Rita se tornar cada vez mais chata.

No final do episódio, temos uma grande revelação que faz com que o rumo da temporada mude totalmente. Dexter, ao seguir o Trinity para vingar-se do atentado à vida da sua irmã, faz uma descoberta que ninguém esperava. Trinity é como Dexter, tem mulher, filhos, vive uma vida de homem de família, ao mesmo tempo que procura satisfação ao matar pessoas. Assim, a curiosidade do nosso protagonista vai mover seus passos de agora em diante. Afinal, como Trinity conseguiu manter as aparências por tantos anos?

Meanwhile, back at Miami Metro, Debra refuses to let a technicality keep her off the Trinity case. She works through others to ensure her voice is heard – that is, until she realizes that her single-minded pursuit of the Trinity Killer may have blinded her to the truth.

“Road Kill”

I spent part of last week finishing up the fifth season of Six Feet Under, which has long been half finished after a lengthy marathon session of the entire series just proved dire last summer, resulting in “Depressive Melodrama Burnout” (DMB, for short). Returning to that show was a reminder of just how amazing Michael C. Hall can be, and how in some ways I wish that Dexter could feel as…progressive as Six Feet Under often did. Say what you will about Alan Ball’s incessant refusal to allow his characters to be happy, but the sense of growth in David as a character (and, not to spoil anything, a late series regression) helped to provide a sense that the collective weight of the show was actually having an impact on his psyche.

Dexter, as a series, is like a masochistic, homicidal version of “Will it float?” where the writers throw various circumstances at Dexter to see whether it will mix with his existing psychotic personality. The argument the fourth season has been making thus far is that Dexter is not aware of how much his personality has actually changed, and the Trinity Killer is a sign that perhaps there is some secret switch that will help reconcile his new life in the suburbs with his murderous impulses (and actions). And, now into the show’s fourth season, the psychological experiment at the centre of the show is downright uninteresting to the point where last week’s violation of Harry’s code is about a season and a half behind the times: we’ve been waiting for Dexter to realize that the code is flawed, and develop his own, since the start of the third season, but the show is formulaic to the point where that would disrupt the flow of the story.

“Road Kill” works as an episode because it completely sidelines Dexter’s predictable responses in favour of the unpredictability of the Trinity Killer. To do so, of course, the show has to admit that the actual impact of killing a mostly innocent man is entirely counterproductive to the show’s intentions, instead heading to Tampa in order to delve into the psyche of a character that, in being new and interesting, the writers actually seem interested by. The rest of the episode isn’t nearly as interesting, but letting Hall and Lithgow go on a road trip together is a recipe for success, if limited by the show’s current focus.

I want to be clear that this episode didn’t really tell us anything we didn’t know about Trinity, factually speaking. What it did was explain why his sister’s death, his mother’s suicide and his father’s eventual end are tied up in his own past. As Dexter points out, they are both born in blood, Dexter as an innocent toddler (scarring him to the point of corrupting his world view) and Trinity as an innocent pre-teen (who inadvertently causes his sister’s death, and who kills his father after he holds him accountable for his mother’s suicide). It’s the sort of connection that’s hokey if the storyline is actually about Dexter, but since I’m largely uninterested in what the show does with his character I thought it was a nice touch in terms of contextualizing Trinity.

The entire Tampa trip had this really interesting sense that Dexter, despite attempting to complete an ill-advised road kill (the only one we’ve seen, I think, outside of Lyla), wasn’t in control. It made for some really intriguing scenes where John Lithgow got to play Arthur as legitimately crazy, someone who we as the audience feel could go off the rails at any moment. We know that Dexter intends to kill Trinity, but we also know that Trinity could just as easily make a move to kill Dexter, as both are vulnerable in this situation. When we eventually learn that Arthur is far too messed up to be orchestrating a murder, having been driven to madness by both his return to his childhood environment and his sense that Dexter and his hunting accident offers a crutch of sorts, it creates that sort of uncertainty that used to be present on the show with Dexter, but has now become drowned out by his internal monologue and reserved for those orbiting our anti-hero.

The show looks like it could be heading in an exciting direction when we discover that Trinity is about to jump off a building to his death in his state of remorse, but of course that’s expecting too much. The episode played out almost like a short story of sorts, like an undercover cop spending time with a known serial killer and unknowingly appealing to the side of him that creates this sort of crazy adventure. Because of how good Lithgow is, and because Hall plays this role so well in this sort of supporting capacity, this storyline works as a standalone unit. However, because it does nothing to course correct a season that has me far more invested in a character who is doomed not to last the season, it’s not getting me any more excited about it being dragged out a bit longer.

As for the rest of the episode, I fast forwarded through all of the Batista/LaGuerta and Rita/Neighbour stuff – I presume that the two of them broke the table rekindling their forbidden romance, and that the latter flirted enough over wine to indicate that Rita has an escape strategy for her marriage with Dexter, but forgive me if I don’t care about any of it. I have similar feelings about Quinn’s reporter girlfriend, although I thought the Deb stuff was interesting in that it actually advanced the plot by informing us that Trinity did not, in fact, kill Lundy and Deb. This leaves a couple of theories circling around, which include Trinity’s son and Anton, theories which are about the only thing unpredictable about the season to this point. I think the show would be far more interesting, though, if it limited its number of terrible storylines and stuck to a combination of larger Dexter stories and linear secondary stories that could provide a sense of consistent achievement to make it feel as if they’re not just wasting time until something interesting happens.

Cultural Observations

• Dexter is currently at the point where I’m only watching episodes in their entirety when my Twitter followers indicate that it’s worth watching: I can’t take the boring placeholder episodes of the show right now, and if not for Lithgow/Hall I’m not sure I’d be watching at all. So, if I don’t review an episode here and there, don’t be shocked.
• Enjoyed the over-scientific explanation of the Meteorological Conference that got Dexter the excuse to go – Hall played the two scenes well, and I thought they had a nice levity to them.
• And I really don’t have anything left to say about this one.

The weekend is winding down.  Dexter is on in one hour, and I’ve spent the majority of the day in bed.  Yesterday was “interesting” to say the least as it ended with me in the hospital!!  I spent about 3 hours in the ER last night being monitored, poked for blood and given fluids.  I won’t go into details since they’re a little intense/embarassing for the blogosphere, but I will be seeing my GI doctor this week and will most likely be having another colonoscopy this week or next week.  Ick!!  I had my first colonoscopy in 2006 and am really not looking forward to going under the “Scope” again, but it’s always better to know what’s going on!!

The good news is that I’m actually feeling really well, the bad news is I’ll have to use some vacation time for the procedure since I used my last sick day last week and that I won’t be running until probably next weekend at the soonest.  But, that’s OK, health is the #1 priority – right?

After the weekend’s excitement I’ve been terrible about photographing my eats, or really doing anything worth blogging about.  So, I plan to check in again tomorrow morning!

Originally written as perhaps Dexter’s most sympathetic character, Rita Bennett Morgan- played by angelic blonde beauty Julie Benz- has slowly metastasized from a shrinking violet victim of domestic violence into a nagging control-freak who uses smothering domestic structure and constant disapproval to emotionally blackjack husband Dexter into matrimonial blackface. Rita has become such a relentless harpy in fact, recent Nielsen numbers indicate that Season Four Dexter is viewed roughly 26% more sympathetically than the previous season.  Although the Showtime series has grown steadily in popularity throughout its four seasons, producers can’t help but notice that male viewers have begun to desert the show in disgust at Rita usurping the Morgan family jewels.

“Julie had asked for Rita to be written much more assertively,” said Dexter producer and writer Daniel Cerone.  “Michael (actor Michael C. Hall, who plays Dexter’s titular character) agreed with Julie that a stronger Rita would allow interesting subtext as Dexter’s obliged to work around her growing demands that he have a more active familial presence.  We intended for Dexter to seem as asphyxiated as the proverbial baby in a plastic babe by Rita and the marriage.  I think fans will enjoy where this will take us in the season finale.”

The consensus on Dexter fansites is that towards the season finale, Rita realizes what an unmitigated thundercunt she’s become, she and Dexter reconcile their growing rift via some circus sex with strong hints of Rita giving up the butt.  If so, Dexter’s trademark intermittent titular character narration will bubble jubilantly for about five minutes of Dexter celebrating custody of his testicles.  Don’t be surprised if Rita is then abducted by Dexter’s arch-rival and sometime mentor serial killer Trinity, played by über-WASP veteran character actor John Lithgow.

Our guess is that the seeming certainty that Trinity either kills Rita or leaves her so emotionally scarred that she returns in Season Five as her former mousy self will bring male viewers back.  I don’t have a dog in this race per se, but either eventuality seems to trump Dexter continuing as a series about a  henpecked serial killer of serial killers.

Como en estados Unidos son muy aficionados a hacer listas con todo tipo de cuestiones, ahora no llega una en la que nos revelan los “10 mejores episodios pilotos” que ha habido en la historia de la pequeña pantalla. La fuente de dicho análisis es AOL (AOL televisión), una web bastante visitada en el continente americano.

El caso es que muchas han sido las series que se merecen estar en ese ranking y que lamentablemente se han olvidado de ellas. ¿Qué os parecen las candidaturas? ¿son justas o injustas la inclusión de algún piloto en esa lista? ¿echáis de menos a alguna serie que debería presentarse en este ranking?

1. Lost (Perdidos).
2. The Sopranos (Los Soprano).
3. ER (Urgencias).
4. Dallas.
5. Desperate Housewives (Mujeres desesperadas)
6. The Mary Tyler Moore Show.
7. The Cosby Show (El show de Billy Cosby).
8. Glee.
9. 24
10. The O.C.

A favor de la lista: que evidentemente hay series que merecen estar ahí como “24”, “Urgencias”, “Mujeres desesperadas”, “Los Soprano” o indudablemente “Perdidos”.

En contra de la lista: se han dejado grandes episodios piloto de series tan buenas como “Héroes”, “Anatomía de Grey”, “Sobrenatural”, “Veronica Mars”, “Embrujadas”, “Dexter”, “V”, “Castle”, “The Vampire Diaries”… y una infinidad más… A parte que por ejemplo “Dallas”, “Glee” o “The O.C.” no creo que tengan un episodio piloto demasiado bueno para pertenecer a este ranking tan distinguido.

In acest post am sa vorbesc putin despre filmele si serialele pe care  le-am  vazut sau pe care le vizionez in cazul serialelor.Deci ,un serial pe care il clasific in topul celor vizionate de mine este Dexter.Bazata pe nuvelele lui Jeff Lindsay, Showtime ne propune o interesanta poveste a unui criminal in serie. In timpul zilei, Dexter Morgan e un angajat model al laboratorului criminalistic al politiei din Miami, dar aceasta este doar o masca ce ascunde adevarata sa identitate. In relitate Dexter este un criminal meticulos ( un monstru precum si el admite) care isi satisface setea de sange in timpul noptii. La adapostul intunericului el urmareste si apoi omoara criminalii pe care legea nu-i poate atinge, totul cu grija si determinare. Dexter Morgan se confruntă cu probleme serioase, căci ies la iveală tot mai multe dovezi ale activităţii sale de după serviciu, iar astfel trecutul său extrem de întunecat este tot mai aproape de a fi dezvăluit.

In fine daca vreti sa vedeti despre ce e vorba luati si vedeti ca sa va da-ti seama ce fel de serial e.Alt serial tare ar mai fi Legend Of the Seeker ,care se bazeaza pe seria de romane intitulata “The Swrod of Truth” a celebrului scriitor Terry Goodkind. Richard Cypher a fost odata un simplu muntean, expert in cititul de urme, bucurandu-se de o libertate totala si ducand o viata linistita alaturi de tatal sau adoptiv si de fratele sau, Michael, Primul Consilier al Taramului de Vest. Toate acestea se schimba atunci cand o Profetie ingropata de mii de ani iese la iveala pentru a schimba radical vietile tuturor celor atinsi de catre ea. Seria prezinta aventura epica a tanarului erou, insotit de o misterioasa femeie pe nume Kahlan Amnell si excentricul vrajitor Zeddicus Zu’l Zorander, in incercarea de a-l impieduca pe magul razbunator Darken Rahl de la gestul nebunesc de a dezlantui asupra lumii o putere straveche si infioratoare.

Ar mai fi Merlin ,povesta tanarului vrajitor,House Md,Heroes ,The Mentalist care vi le recomand cu placere deoarece sunt niste productii foarte tari .Mai nou am vazut White Collar un serial extrem de calumea care pare sa aiba un vitor maret in fata.

Seriale mai proaste ar fi Chuck,un serial care pur si simplu il detest mi se pare ceva de cacat ,un prost de om Chuck mare hacker ajutat de o pizda ,asta e oricum chuck e un serial in care merita sa-ti bagi pula.

La categoria filme nu prea sunt la curent cu toate noutatile ,prefer mai mult filmele istorice in ultima perioada dar la mare cautare is de filmele americane gangsta,cu raperi clanuri bang stii futeala de asta.

The most important part of this picture? The cup.

The film is rich enough and so multi-faceted that you can watch it over and over again and find new aspects of its storytelling and filmmaking to admire each time. Revisiting it tonight, the thing I was most into wasn’t how perfectly edited it is, or the way Hitchcock used wardrobe color to such simple, powerful effect. No, tonight I was amused, because this movie casts Carey Grant in a less-common light.

In the movie, Ingrid Bergman plays a high-profile playgirl whose father was just convicted of being a German spy. Carey Grant plays a federal agent assigned to recruit her to gather intelligence on some of her father’s friends. She falls in love with Carey Grant, and though he’s too cold to admit it, he loves her, too. Then he finds out her assignment is to seduce a man who used to be in love with her.

That’s where Carey Grant goes from being cold to flat-out cruel. He sneers his way through his scenes with Bergman, accosting her in Hays-approved innuendo for going through with the plan, while she grows to resent the fact that he didn’t ask her not to. This is not the dashing, charming Carey Grant or even the funny and accessible Carey Grant that producer David O. Selznick wanted to hire as a way of ensuring that the film would turn a profit. No, to us today, this is more like tuning in to watch this show Dexter you’ve heard so much about because that father from 3rd Rock From The Sun is in it and being treated to John Lithgow’s tortured, horrifying performance as the so-called “Trinity Killer.”

People knew the range Grant was capable of, but I think we can all agree he’s primarily known as a dreamy leading man. Selznick sent notes throughout the re-writing process asking that Hitchcock and his collaborators be sure that Grant’s character be charming enough, but Grant and Hitchcock took his character in a slightly different direction. From the moment Bergman meets him, we as the audience trust him. This is partly because Cary Grant carries certain cultural baggage nowadays, but mostly it’s because he does bring the charm. (His response when she tells him her car is outside is easy to miss, but something few other actors could have pulled off quite so well.) We don’t know what his angle is, but we decide that Bergman should trust him.

And then, five minutes later, he decides to just up and knock her out.

The American serial-killer TV show, Dexter, is promoting its fourth season via an interactive YouTube experience: In order to view the Season 4 trailer, users are teased through four levels of a ‘Where’s Wally’ style game.

The video loads with an invitation to find Dexter in crowd of people. As a user successfully identifies Dexter in a series of city-scape scenarios akin to the programmes scenes, they progress to the next level and, at the final stage, are rewarded with an extended trailer.

The TV series is screened in the UK on the Sky “FX” channel, which has a heritage in promoting the show via online video. This time the ‘deep-linking’ feature of YouTube is used to transition from video to video. Those who remember the ‘Choose a different ending’ anti-knife campaign, reported on previously, will have seen this at play already.

Although the challenge and fluidity of the interactive game leaves little to be desired, this does capture the investigatory and discerning essence of the show. Given the average 200K views per clip, for fans, it’s clearly tapping into mindset that keeps them coming back to the brand.

Como um homem cujo trabalho é ajudar a solucionar os piores crimes de Miami durante o dia comete os mesmos atos brutais durante à noite? O que acontece numa cidade onde serial killers são perseguidos por um deles? Onde começa e termina a linha que separa um serial killer de um herói incomum?

“DEXTER”

Uma história cheia de reviravoltas sobre um especialista em medicina forense da polícia que passa parte de seu tempo perseguindo assassinos que ultrapassaram os limites da justiça. Mas será esse um caminho possível para um serial killer?

Interpretado por Michael C. Hall (“Six Feet Under”), Dexter é um personagem complexo cujo código moral e ações talvez sejam chocantes para alguns  — e totalmente injustificáveis para outros. Na superfície, Dexter é um homem bom e charmoso. Durante o dia, ele é um especialista em sangue que trabalha ao lado da equipe da divisão de homicídios do departamento de polícia de Miami e vai além do seu trabalho para solucionar os assassinatos. Seu trabalho na verdade serve para ocultar sua verdadeira ocupação, a de serial killer, que consiste em matar aqueles que conseguiram escapar da polícia.

Logo se descobre as origens do seu comportamento: após ficar órfão aos 4 anos e guardar um traumático segredo, Dexter é adotado por Harry Morgan (James Remar, “North Shore”, “Sex and the City”), um policial que reconhece as tendências homicidas dele e guia seu filho para mudar sua terrível paixão em dissecar humanos para algo mais construtivo.

Como todos os serial killers, o lado obscuro de Dexter é escondido das pessoas com quem ele passa mais tempo, principalmente daqueles que ele ama. Sua irmã Debra (Jennifer Carpenter, “O Exorcismo de Emily Rose”), que não desconfia de nada, é uma policial determinada, que sempre pede conselhos pessoais e profissionais para ele — desde sobre novos namorados até sobre uma série de mortes de prostitutas. A paixão por sua adorável namorada Rita (Julie Benz, “Buffy, a Caça Vampiros”, “Angel”), uma mãe solteira, faz com que ele enfrente a normalidade da vida diária.

Durante o horário comercial, o Dexter “normal” se empenha enquanto trabalha ao lado do durão sargento Doakes (Erik King, “Oz”), que não faz questão de esconder seu desprezo por ele, da tenente Maria LaGuerta (Lauren Velez, “New York Undercover”), a chefe da divisão de homicídios da polícia, e do detetive Angel Batista (David Zayas, “Oz”), que ele praticamente considera o seu parceiro e que tem um faro especial pelos detalhes dos crimes.

Primeira temporada

A primeira temporada indica um Dexter shakesperiano, indeciso entre sua personalidade assassina e a relação afetuosa que mantém com sua carente namorada e os filhos desta. A trama é completada com os conflitos e afetuosidade existentes entre o protagonista e sua irmã de criação, filha do policial que adotou Dexter quando criança e lhe incutiu um rígido código de conduta para conter seus impulsos homicidas.

Segunda temporada

A segunda temporada centrou seu foco na tênue linha que protege o lado negro de Dexter da punição da Justiça.

A série, enfim, aborda um ângulo diferente do arquétipo de justiceiro, porque o personagem principal, Dexter, é um serial killer que mata com requintes de crueldade e oscila entre ser insensível e ser afetuoso e caridoso com aquelas pessoas que dependem dele. Digna de menção, também, é a trilha sonora da série, que é bastante empolgante.

No Brasil, passou a ser exibida pela FX a partir de Outubro de 2008. O site Você Agüenta? foi criado como divulgação da temporada no país.

Terceira temporada

A terceira temporada foi anunciada logo no último capítulo da segunda e foi exibida nos EUA pela rede de televisão Showtime. Está mostrando o lado de Dexter que sente a falta de um amigo verdadeiro, com quem possa compartilhar o seu segredo, porém, com receio de por toda sua vida em risco por este ato.

Quarta temporada

Um novo serial killer denominado de Trinity está em Miami para uma série de assassinatos, o que traz Lundy de volta à cidade. Nesta temporada, Dexter terá que se dividir entre marido, pai, analista de sangue e serial killer.

A Série se mostrou muito boa, e foi renovada; 5ª temporada – com 60 episódios

Comecei assistir, mas confesso, não sou muito de assassinatos e tals, e tenho as 3 temporadas completas e os episódios que já saíram da qrta…

Neste ano, ao acompanhar simultaneamente “Dexter” e “Flash Forward”, percebo o quanto a série do assassino serial se destaca pela produção, texto e elenco impecáveis. E comparar isso tudo com o desleixo que a série estreante da ABC apresenta em todos esses aspectos, só torna tudo mais brilhante. É um prazer acompanhar séries como “Dexter”.

Neste episódio, Dexter tem a chance de tirar uma folga das atribuições de pai e marido que já o puseram em maus bocados, e nada melhor para desestressar do que matar alguém, não é mesmo? A escolhida da vez foi o maior desafio que Dexter teve até hoje, se trata de uma policial que matou o marido e a filha e conseguiu escapar ao plantar pistas falsas na cena do crime. Ao peitar uma policial, Dexter arriscou bastante e teve que fazer várias adaptações ao seu modo de agir para poder pegar sua presa. Por fim, ao confrontar a policial, ele se dá conta que a sua família significa bem mais pra ele do que imaginava, mais até do que o sagrado código de Harry. E esse momento de epifania pode modificar os rumos da série.

Enquanto isso tudo ocorria, mais um episódio de “Aventuras Amorosas na Delegacia” estava rolando. Quinn deu um fora na repórter que estava usando a sua boca solta como fonte. Batista e LaGuerta passaram por uma crise de identidade, já que ela quer definir o que eles têm e ele parece inseguro. Já Debra não resistiu aos sentimentos por Lundy e acabou colocando um belo par de chifres no Anton. Os hormônios estão bombando no Miami Metro e mais corações podem ser atingidos nesse furacão de emoções.

E, voltando à parte séria, houve um gancho chocante no fim do episódio. Após uma noite juntos, Debra e Lundy são alvejados por balas disparadas por alguém não revelado. Ambos são deixados agonizando no chão, enquanto a tela escurece e ficamos ansiosos querendo saber qual o destino dos dois. Destino que só saberemos no episódio que dará sequência ao ótimo que acabamos de assistir.

Dexter salutes Veterans everywhere

If you’re like me, when you hear the word “Vet” you think of being poked and prodded, lifted up on a cold table, getting shots… but did I just found out that there’s a whole other kind of Vet, as in Veteran, and they even have a special day for them.  If you’ve been too busy chasing balls to pay attention, don’t feel too badly… my BF says that a lot of humans don’t pay enough attention, either.  I didn’t see another flag out when we went for a walk.

I also heard him say we’re honoring a brother-in-law in something called the Marines (from the way he describes it, it sounds very special), and he’s been to Iraq and Afganistan and lots of other dangerous places. But I take it we’re also honoring all those pictures on the wall… the four brothers from something called WWII… and lots of other people we don’t even know, but who sound like they’re very dedicated.

I don’t get it when I hear humans talk about people fighting and wars and what not.  I do understand when they talk about dedication and loyalty and giving your all for the pack.  And I think that’s what they’re honoring…

Essa temporada assim como a anterior ainda não me empolgou, apesar de terem tido bons momentos, ainda fico com a segunda, que foi a melhor na minha opinião.

Ainda continuamos vendo um Dexter com sua vida pessoal extremamente bagunçada, com um casamento cercado de mentiras, que poderia chegar ao final a qualquer momento. E pra isso, ele e Rita até fazem terapia na tentativa, mais dela, já que ele quer manter sua vida como a de uma pessoa normal.

Nesse episódio somos apresentados à vida de Arthur Mitchell, o Trinity Killer, e vemos que aparentemente ele é uma pessoa normal e descobrimos o porquê dele ser um serial killer, e como ele opera, já que teve três pessoas na família mortas de forma chocante e desde então ele recria essas mortes, conforme viaja para construir casas.

Jennifer Carpenter está me surpreendendo cada vez mais, pelo menos nessa temporada, já que sua cena com a suposta assassina de Lundy foi excelente.

LaGuerta e Batista acredito eu que estavam mentindo quando contaram que terminaram seu caso e isso deve refletir em algo bem sério mais pra frente.
