Por considerar existir uma verdadeira praga de rendas não pagas e incobráveis, a Associação Nacional de Proprietários vai pedir à Comissão Nacional de Protecção de Dados autorização para compilar uma lista de inquilinos incumpridores. Segundo a associação, por ano ficam por cobrar 36 milhões de euros em rendas, com clara preponderância de incumprimentos nos contratos superiores a 400 euros mensais.

A ANP recorda que esta lista de incumpridores é em tudo semelhante às que já existem e versam sobre dívidas aos operadores de telemóveis, aos bancos [com referência aos cheques sem provisão e prestações de créditos não liquidadas], às seguradoras [em relação às apólices não pagas], e ao Estado com a publicação na Internet, no sítio da Direcção-Geral dos Impostos, do nome dos contribuintes faltosos. A ANP, numa primeira fase, pede para que a divulgação “dos inquilinos ‘caloteiros’ que sistematicamente vão arrendando casas e só pagam o primeiro mês” seja feita com acesso restrito aos associados.

“Trata-se de uma lista onde os inquilinos relapsos permanecerão cinco anos ou até solverem as rendas de casa em falta, para desta forma ajudar os potenciais alugadores a não serem abusados na sua boa-fé, já que há ‘inquilinos’ que andam sistematicamente a enganar os senhorios: pagam a caução e o primeiro mês e nunca mais pagam nada. São profissionais de usufruir de tecto a título gratuito!”, lê-se no comunicado enviado às redacções pela ANP.

Segundo o mesmo comunicado, as rendas faltosas são maioritariamente acima de 400 euros mensais [cerca de 86 por cento], havendo poucos casos de incumprimento nas rendas abaixo de 100 euros. Dos contratos com rendas superiores a 500 euros feitos nos últimos três anos 29 por cento entraram em incumprimento [cerca de 20.000], metade por situação de desemprego e outra metade “por profissionais de viver à borla na casa dos outros”.

Na lista dos incumpridores que a ANP pretende elencar, vai constar o local, as datas em que e a quem deixaram de pagar e o total das dívidas, que no seu conjunto representam mais de 36 milhões de euros anuais que deixam de ser cobrados.

Voilà, on s’y attendait presque tous ici, les avertissements de la FIFA il y a quelques jours à l’encontre de l’Égypte relativement au respect des conditions de sécurité qui devaient encadrer l’arrivée et le séjour des Verts au Caire dans de bonnes conditions nous laissaient présager le pire, surtout en connaissant la légendaire “hospitalité” égyptienne en matière footballistique envers les équipes étrangères qui viennent disputer des rencontres chez eux. Mais en réalité, quelque part, personne ne croyait vraiment à un tel scénario catastrophe et les algériens, bien que quelque peu méfiants, ont préféré faire de cette évènement une grande fête dans le plus pur esprit sportif, défilant dans les rues depuis des jours et jusqu’à des heures tardives, poussant des cries de joie et d’espoir, bardés de bananiers multicolores, agitant des drapeaux Algériens et scandant les innombrables chants de supporteurs aux rythmes endiablés pour soutenir les Fennec dans l’attente insoutenable de l’un des match les plus important de toute l’histoire du football Algérien avec, à la clé, une délivrance, un objectif pour ce collectif vert et rouge porté par tout un peuple, voir s’ouvrir les portes tant convoitées, tant attendues, de la coupe du monde de football, du Mondial 2010, cet été, en Afrique du sud.

Suivant comme jamais toute l’actualité de son équipe nationale, c’est à la fois la stupeur et la douche froide qui s’est abattue sur les Algériens ce jeudi soir quand ils apprirent qu’à son arrivée au Caire, tout le convois de l’équipe Algérienne a littéralement été conduit droit dans un traquenard, une embuscade en bonne et due forme, tendue lors de son trajet en bus entre l’aéroport et l’hôtel par une horde de supporteurs égyptiens comme possédés par le démon et sans que les forces de l’ordre n’interviennent. Se faisant caillasser par divers projectiles, insultés et injuriés comme les derniers des mal propre et avec une violence rarement observée. C’est une équipe nationale traumatisée et dénombrant plusieurs blessés (notamment à la tête) qui est arrivée tant bien que mal tard le soir à son hôtel dans un autocar complètement cabossé et aux vitres brisées qu’on aurait dit échappé d’une zone de guerre.

Als „unwissenschaftliche Meinungsäußerung“ kritisiert die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Implantologie e.V. (DGI) in einer aktuellen Stellungnahme den jetzt vorgelegten Abschlußbericht des Instituts für Qualität und Wirtschaftlichkeit im Gesundheitswesen (IQWiG) zum Thema „Implantat-getragene Suprakonstruktionen bei prothetischem Zahnersatz für verkürzte Zahnreihen“.

Die Forderung nach mehr Forschung in der Implantologie ist nie falsch. Ihr kann sich die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Implantologie e.V. (DGI) nur anschließen, steht sie doch für die wissenschaftlich basierte Fortentwicklung der Implantologie in der deutschen Zahn-, Mund- und Kieferheilkunde.

Bevor man allerdings den Ruf nach mehr Forschung erschallen läßt, sollte die bereits bestehende Datenlage vollständig und vor allem methodisch ausgewogen analysiert werden. Dies ist in dem jetzt veröffentlichten Abschlußbericht zum Thema „Implantatgetragene Suprakonstruktionen bei prothetischem Zahnersatz für verkürzte Zahnreihen“ des Instituts für Qualität und Wirtschaftlichkeit im Gesundheitswesen (IQWiG) unterblieben.

Vielmehr wurden einerseits wichtige Studien mit einem Hinweis auf methodische Unzulänglichkeiten ignoriert und andererseits Messgrößen wie die Ernährung einbezogen, obwohl diese bereits in der Einleitung als nicht sensitiver Parameter identifiziert worden war. Es drängt sich der Verdacht auf, dass hier ein Ergebnis mindestens billigend in Kauf genommen wurde, das nicht dem Herausarbeiten von Vor- und Nachteilen sondern dem Verwischen von Unterschieden dient.

Nach großzügigem Entrümpeln der Literaturlandschaft mit Hilfe eines scharfen Evidenzschwertes und dem Verspachteln noch verbleibender Konturen durch ungeeignete Ergebnisparameter zeigt sich dann beim besten Willen kein erkennbarer Unterschied mehr. Daher kann seitens unkritischer Leser leichten Herzens der Schluss gezogen werden, dass das Neue nicht besser sei als das Alte. Ein Schelm, wer Böses – oder gar Politisches – dabei denkt.

Die DGI weist deshalb die Position des IQWiG „dass es für den implantatgetragenen im Vergleich zum konventionellen Zahnersatz bei verkürzten Zahnreihen weder Hinweise noch Belege für einen Zusatznutzen gibt“ als unwissenschaftliche Meinungsäußerung zurück.

Die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Implantologie im Mund-, Kiefer- und Gesichtsbereich e.V. (DGI) ist mit ca. 7000 Mitgliedern die größte wissenschaftliche Fachgesellschaft im Bereich der Implantologie in Europa.

You have the masterpieces, you are overwhelmed with art and you want to share them all with the world.

But with money and space always a consideration, what is the best place to store them?

Think digital – build your gallery or museum in the ultimate space: cyberspace.

On the Internet, anyone can browse the pictures and learn about art with a click of a mouse. It is perhaps the future of art archiving – not really a replacement, and more than a supplement, but rather a complement to existing or planned physical museums and galleries.

Seasoned graphic designer Hanny Kardinata is one of the artists carrying this vision.

His dream of an Indonesian Graphic Design Museum (MGDI), for which he has already picked out a physical site in South Jakarta’s Ciganjur, had to be delayed as he gets together the means and resources.

In the meantime, he is building his museum online, on a website he set up in 2007 from his home in Tangerang’s Bintaro.

“I want to build a museum where young people can learn about the history of Indonesian graphic design. They have only ever been introduced to the international history of the subject,” Han explained.

“Choosing to go online helps provide access for a lot more people to gain information on what Indonesian graphic design is all about – its history and development,” said Han, adding that it was initially a form of temporary storage, which later grew to be a complement to the planned physical museum.

Unexpectedly – and rather unconventionally – the online archive is now practically a museum, hosting digitized graphic design works from Indonesia from the 1930s through to today. You enter by simply typing the address in your browser; you can then explore a wealth of graphic design works.

It makes it convenient too: There is no need to travel any distance to view an old stamp from the 1940s bearing the image of one of the earliest pieces of Indonesian graphic design work, or to take a look at the work of senior graphic artists such as A. D. Pirous or Prijanto Sunarto.

Anyone researching a specific subject can also browse a wealth of academic papers and theses open for all. And unlike researching in a library, it is possible to engage in an online discussion with fellow students, lecturers and even practitioners in the field.

Indeed, Han seems to be on track to putting Indonesian graphic design on the global map, as his virtual museum also getting plenty of hits from browsers abroad.

“One of the strategies is to include an archive on the history of international graphic design,” he added.

So far, the virtual museum has been built using the free blog service WordPress. Han’s initial resources were his own archive; the collection later expanded to contain more and more digitized old works, as well as extra material submitted by contributors.

The online archive also features a who’s who of the Indonesian graphic design world, through the personal pages of designers from the 1970s to today.

Han and his team are considering developing it into an independent website to be launched early next year at the latest, partly so it can host entries for next year’s Indonesian Graphic Design Award.

“Online submissions will be added to the blog while the physical item will be added to the collection of the future physical museum,” Han explained. “In the future, the expansion of the collection will be done more systematically and not rely solely on me.”

Despite the success of the online archive, the original dream of the physical gallery, to be built at painter Arifien Neif’s Chandari Creative Cluster, lives on. Once completed, MDGI will be the world’s second museum dedicated to graphic design; so far, the only other one is the Netherlands’ Breda.

While MDGI is striving to move from online to offline, the Indonesian Visual Art Archive (IVAA) is working in reverse.

A non-profit cultural organization that opened a documentation center and library for visual art in Yogyakarta since 1995, the institution recently launched its online archive through its Multimedia Data Exhibition at Central Jakarta’s National Gallery.

“We have been trying to digitalize our archive since 2008 in a bid to preserve the collection,” IVAA executive director Farah Wardani said.

The strong earthquake that hit Yogyakarta in 2006 sparked concerns over the fate of the IVAA collection and led to its managers thinking of building a new archiving platform system online.

Working with a grant from Hivos and the Ford Foundation, IVAA, which focuses on contemporary visual art, wants to do more than just digitalize its collection.

“As soon as the digitalization process of our own archive is completed next year, we will open ourselves to contributors – of course with extra editing and selecting on our part,” Farah explained, adding that it would probably develop into a Wiki-like platform.

Currently, with the help of 10 other full-time employees and some volunteers, Farah is classifying the current archive into multimedia, identity, creative industry, youth, public and alternative space.

The online collection ranges from scanned versions of old research reports and theses on contemporary visual art, images of artworks, recordings of past exhibitions, discussions and interviews with artists, as well as collections of video art.

“It is important to compile all the existing works and disseminate them to the public so more people can build more works based on them,” Farah said.

Another initiative worth mentioning is the Indonesian Virtual Museum. Rein in your imagination – it is not yet, as the name suggests, a website where you can actually have the experience of visiting a museum through fancy 3D videos and simulations. But it is just as informative nonetheless.

Compiling images and data from various sources, the initiative, also supported by Hivos, wants to introduce history through the online medium. Aside from a sort-of curated theme-based collection ranging from the story of legendary spy Matahari to national figures such as Mohammad Hatta and Ong Hok Ham, the site also hosts online exhibitions on local topics such as the history of Jakarta’s Jatinegara.

Managed by only three people, the virtual museum has yet to develop into a place people can visit for a full Indonesian history archive. Despite their present shortcomings, MDGI, IVAA and the Indonesian Virtual Museum are proof that maintaining existence in the virtual world helps preserve historical works in general, and in the art world in particular.

Such initiatives could well develop into something like the more advanced one already developed in Germany. No, there is no need to fly to Europe to browse the collection of the virtual museum of modernism nrw.

On entering the website, visitors are taken to a compilation of 392 works by 276 artists in 14 museums spread across 10 locations in Germany’s North-Rhine Westphalian.

The website aims to be more than just a virtual storage room of modern art from the museums’ collections. It takes visitors to its four rooms, where they can browse by artist or by works.

The virtual museum of modernism nrw invites its visitors to stroll through exhibition rooms, and the museum platform nrw allows visitors to explore and research the region’s collections of international modern art.

With a platform developed by NRW KULTURsekretariat, art historians, archivists, web developers and designers as well as photographers and graphic designers, the website allows art lovers to explore its rich collection in a unique way.

Browse as you will works by Magritte to Matisse, Baumeister to Basquiat. And as each page opens, you can add them to your own personal collection.

Well, of course, not to be hung on your wall or to decorate your home. But from there, one can build and organize specific texts and images of the selected works as digital files.

If you crave the real thing, the website provides further information on where the original work is kept, complete with information on how to plan your actual visit.

So, when time or money prevents you from experiencing art in the conventional way, just remember, some of it is accessible with just a click of your mouse.

BOVIS LEND LEASE, the construction group, has teamed up with the British architect behind London’s “erotic gherkin” office skyscraper on a $13 billion (£7.4 billion) plan to build 750,000 new homes in Saudi Arabia.

The pair are working with Saudi Construction Group, a new company backed by some of the Kingdom’s richest businessmen, to develop a huge site about three miles outside the capital, Riyadh. The backers plan to float the group — which could be worth about £1 billion — in London or Riyadh by the middle of next year.

BOVIS LEND LEASE, the construction group, has teamed up with the British architect behind London’s “erotic gherkin” office skyscraper on a $13 billion (£7.4 billion) plan to build 750,000 new homes in Saudi Arabia.

The pair are working with Saudi Construction Group, a new company backed by some of the Kingdom’s richest businessmen, to develop a huge site about three miles outside the capital, Riyadh. The backers plan to float the group — which could be worth about £1 billion — in London or Riyadh by the middle of next year.

Apesar de já termos visto vários posts em grupos de discussão, em blogs e em geocomunidade, já estava programada a inserção do post sobre links para baixar imagens de graça.

We will have some changes or further additions and deletions coming today from Russell for the highly awaited Russell rebalance and reconstitution taking place late this month.  What is interesting about the group’s additions and deletions is that there are many of the hot (and not so hot) companies which came public via an IPO that are in the Russell index changes.

Bridgepoint Education Inc. (NYSE: BPI) is being added to Russell 3000 and to the Russell Global.  DigitalGlobal Inc. (NYSE: DGI) is actually trading as a busted IPO and it is being added to Russell 3000 and to the Russell Global.  OpenTable (NASDAQ: OPEN) is being added to Russell 3000 and to the Russell Global.  Rosetta Stone Inc. (NYSE: RST) is being added to Russell 3000 and to the Russell Global.  RHI Entertainment (NASDAQ: RHIE) was a distant IPO but it is being added to Russell 3000 and to the Russell Global.  SolarWinds Inc. (NYSE: SWI) is a very fresh IPO and is being added to Russell 3000 and to the Russell Global.  There is also a list of other key IPOs which were not included for certain issues.

Changyou.com Limited (NASDAQ: CYOU) was not listed in the first preliminary list for the Russell 3000 but that could be from an ADR status, the percentage of the free float to total shares, and the recent spin-off.  Grand Canyon Education (NASDAQ: LOPE) was not listed on the preliminary list, and that may be a free float issue versus total shares.  Mead Johnson Nutrition Co. (NYSE: MJN) was also not on the Russell 3000 preliminary list, but that may be an issue over the total float and spin-off. RackSpace Hosting Inc. (NYSE: RAX) was not on the initial list.

As noted with the speculative energy stocks getting booted off the list, there will be changes and adjustments announced today and next Friday before the final-final lists are posted on Monday June 29, 2009.

Dabei werden in einer Übersicht auch 115 der am meisten empfohlenen implantologischen Praxen Deutschlands aufgelistet: „Dass 110 auf dieser Liste genannten Experten Mitglied bei uns in der DGI sind, macht uns schon auch stolz“, sagt dazu Prof. Dr. Günter Dhom, Präsident der DGI/Deutsche Gesellschaft für Implantologie. Diese hohe Quote belege auch, dass die Fachgesellschaft auf dem richtigen Weg ist, wenn sie Fortbildung einfordert und entsprechende Zertifizierungen mit hohem Anspruch verbindet. We have been keeping track of the 2009 IPOs that made it to market, and while one is barely broken, a portfolio of the IPOs from the pricing level gives a solid performance that might allow more and more IPOs to come to market.  For the 2009 IPOs we have only Changyou.com Limited (NASDAQ: CYOU), Rosetta Stone Inc. (NYSE: RST), Mead Johnson Nutrition Co. (NYSE: MJN), DigitalGlobal Inc. (NYSE: DGI), and Bridgepoint Education Inc. (NYSE: BPI).

Here is how each has done on a per-IPO basis, with the strongest performers first.

• Changyou.com Limited (NASDAQ: CYOU) priced at $16.00 and hit $29.00 today.
• Rosetta Stone Inc. (NYSE: RST) priced at $18.00 and hit $23.80 today.
• Mead Johnson Nutrition Co. (NYSE: MJN) priced at $24.00 and hit    $28.80 today.
• DigitalGlobal Inc. (NYSE: DGI) just last week priced at $19.00 and hit $19.75 today.
• Bridgepoint Education Inc. (NYSE: BPI) is only busted IPO that priced at $10.50    and is trading at $10.29 today.

We tallied up a $10,000 investment in each of these at the pricing to derive what a portfolio would look like from the pricing.  This is only 5 stocks, but this is all we have to work with from 2009 IPOs.  So a $50,000 investment in all of the 2009 IPO’s would be worth $63,541.00 today (pennies rounded down).  That is a gain of 27% on average.

Obviously, it is not fair to say that this portfolio would have netted out secondary market investors the same as many trad up from the IPO pricing.  But this is what drives IPO investors in their decision making, and this may be what gets the investment bankers and private companies off the fence to start issuing more and more IPO’s if the market remains strong or stable.

“Curriculum Implantatprothetik und Zahntechnik: Im Team zum Erfolg “

Binnen zwei Wochen haben die Teilnehmer der ersten beiden Kursserien des neuen DGI-APW-Curriculums Implantatprothetik und Zahntechnik am 21. Februar und am 7. März 2009 nach erfolgreich bestandener Abschlussprüfung ihr Zertifikat erhalten. ZTM Hans-Jürgen Stecher, Wiedergeltingen, machte den Absolventen Mut: „Bis zum Jahr 2020 wird der Behandlungsbedarf – trotz aller Erfolge der Prävention – nicht sinken.“ Angesichts der demographischen Entwicklung werde vielmehr die Zahl komplexer Versorgungen zunehmen.

Das Interesse war von Anfang an groß: Als DGI-Fortbildungsreferent Dr. Gerhard Iglhaut das neue Curriculum Implantatprothetik und Zahntechnik – die wissenschaftsbasierte und praxisorientierte Fortbildung für das Team aus Zahnarzt und Zahntechniker – Anfang 2008 auf den Weg gebracht hatte, waren die ersten Kursserien schnell ausgebucht. Inzwischen ist die 5. Kursserie angelaufen, in der 6. Serie, die im Juni dieses Jahres startet, sind nur noch wenige Plätze frei. „Hartnäckigkeit und Antrengung bei der Etablierung dieses Curriculums haben sich gelohnt“, freut sich Iglhaut.

Am 21. Februar und am 7. März gingen nun in München die ersten beiden Kursserien zu Ende. Verknüpft damit ist das 6. und letzte Modul. In diesem steht die Praxis der Zahntechnik im Mittelpunkt. Die Referenten, ZTM Udo Buhr aus München, ZTM Andreas Kimmel aus Koblenz und ZTM Hans-Jürgen Stecher aus Wiedergeltingen servierten den Teilnehmern nochmals ein strammes Programm.

Ein Bild sagt mehr als tausend Worte. Unter diesem Titel ging es beispielsweise um die Planung der Versorgung durch den Zahntechniker. Hierzu steht inzwischen eine Fülle von Computerprogrammen zur Verfügung, die ZTM Andreas Kimmel in einer Übersicht präsentierte. „Die Software kann zwar schöne Bilder malen“, warnte er, „doch die Planung setzt Fachkompetenz voraus, der Zahntechniker muss sich in Anatomie auskennen“. Eine genaue Planung ermöglicht beispielsweise nicht nur die Ein Bild sagt mehr als tausend Worte. Unter diesem Titel ging es beispielsweise um die Planung der Versorgung durch den Zahntechniker. Behandlungsbedarf wird nicht sinken. ZTM Hans-Jürgen Stecher präsentierte einen Parforce-Ritt zum Thema „Struktur-, Prozess- und Ergebnisqualität“. Seine Botschaft: „Wir werden uns auf neue Materialien und Technologien einstellen müssen.“ Diese Herausforderungen gelte es anzunehmen. Stecher machte den Teilnehmern Mut: „Es wird keine wesentliche Senkung des Behandlungsbedarfes geben“, sagt er, „dies zeigen zahlreiche Untersuchungen.“ Vielmehr würden aufgrund der demographischen Entwicklung der Gesellschaft komplexe Versorgungsfälle eher zunehmen. Ebenso zeigen Untersuchungen, dass sich der Anspruch der Patienten in den letzten Jahren verändert hat: „Die Zahl der Patienten steigt, die eine festsitzende Versorgung wünschen“, so Stecher.
Trotz globaler Wirtschafts- und Bankenkrise blickt der Referent optimistisch in die Zukunft: Die Kosten einer Versorgung sind zwar wichtig, aber sie stehen nicht auf Platz eins, wenn man Senioren fragt, was ihnen beim Zahnersatz wichtig sind. Rund 85 Prozent legen Wert auf eine gute und langlebige Qualität, 82 Prozent ist die gute Funktion beim Essen und Kauen wichtig. Die Hälfte legt vor allem Wert auf die Ästhetik. Demgegenüber spielen Kosten nur bei einem Drittel der Befragten eine wichtige Rolle.

Hoch ist auch die Zuzahlungsbereitschaft wie Stecher ausführte: 68 Prozent der 65 bis 74-Jährigen seien bereit, 3000 Euro für die Wiederherstellung eines schönen Lächelns auszugeben.

Besser und effizienter durch gute Kommunikation. Referenten und Teilnehmer, Zahnärzte und Zahntechniker, waren sich in einem Punkt einig: Die Kommunikation zwischen den beiden Berufsgruppen des Teams ist von entscheidender Wichtigkeit für den Erfolg. Die gemeinsame Fortbildung erleichtert dies – und sie dient der Qualitätssicherung. Darum sind vor allem jene Teilnehmer besonders zufrieden, die als Team das Curriculum absolvieren. „Wir sprechen die selbe Sprache und können so schneller und erfolgreicher arbeiten“, sagen etwa ZTM Gerrit Ehlert und Dr. Dirk Mankow. Gut eingespielte Teams können also noch besser und effizienter werden. Dies hat auch mit der gegenseitigen Wertschätzung und Achtung zu tun, wenn das Curriculum den beiden Berufsgruppen jeweils den Blick in den anderen Garten eröffnet.

„Wir haben hier viel gelernt“, sagt die Oralchirurgin Sylvia Vanderborght aus Fürth, die zur erste Studiengruppe gehörte. Wichtig sei auch die Diskussion in der Gruppe, der kollegiale Austausch und vor allem die Offenheit auch über Probleme zu sprechen. Vanderborght : „Dies wurde von Treffen zu Treffen intensiver.“ ZTM Oliver Fackler aus Viernheim hat, wie er sagt, sehr intensiv vom kollegialen Austausch profitiert: „Es gibt wenig Plattformen, wo dieses möglich ist.“
Dies bestätigen im Gespräch alle Absolventen des Curriculums. Man lernt nicht nur von den Referenten, sondern auch voneinander. „Es ist interessant zu sehen“, erklärt Dr. Antonis Alexakis aus Riel-Worblingen, „wie die Kollegen ein Problem angehen. So erhält man auch Informationen, wo man selbst steht.“
Zahnarzt Dr. Gerhard Pfeiffer aus Ludwigshafen wird noch besser dokumentieren, noch klarer formulieren und die Mitarbeiter noch besser schulen, um die Zusammenarbeit zu verbessern. Dies hat er im Currlculum gelernt.

Das DGI-Curriculum ist ein Treffpunkt der kreativen Köpfe, denen ihre berufliche Weiterentwicklung wichtig ist. Und so mancher berichtet auch über vorbildliche Initiativen, wie Frank Löring aus Witten. Der Zahntechniker hat eine speziell geschulte Zahnarzt-Helferin eingestellt, die – wenn dieses gewünscht wird – das Team der Praxen unterstützt, mit denen Löring zusammenarbeitet. „Die Beraterin geht in die Praxen und schult das Team“, sagt Löring. „Wenn es gewünscht wird, ist diese Mitarbeiterin auch in der Lage, Patienten über die verschiedenen, insbesondere implantatprothetischen Versorgungsformen kompetent zu beraten.“ Und nicht ohne Stolz fügt Löring hinzu: „Das Angebot ist bei den Praxen auf großes Interesse gestoßen.“

Auch die Dozenten sind am Ende des Curriculums zufrieden. „Man merkt, dass die Botschaften ankommen“, freut sich Stecher. Und er wird eine wichtige Botschaft der Teilnehmer an die DGI übermitteln: Sie wollen weitermachen – gewünscht wird ein Continuum.

This was a week of profit taking and a probable realization that a move of 30% and more from the lows in March was probably a bit much in the face of only consistent “less-bad” economic data.  But as every optimist says, “There is always a bull market somewhere.”  We saw a drop of  about -3.6% to 8,268.64, while the S&P 500 Index slid by -4.% to 882.88.  The NASDAQ was the ‘better’ of the losers with a drop of -3.4% to 1,680.14.  But there are many standout stocks, and some of the key big movers and winners this week were American Dairy Inc. (NYSE: ADY), Biocryst Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: BCRX), Diedrich Coffee Inc. (NASDAQ: DDRX), DigitalGlobe, Inc. (NYSE: DGI), Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (NYSE: FAZ), Loral Space & Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: LORL), Red Hat Inc. (NYSE: RHT) and WuXi PharmaTech Inc. (NYSE: WX).

Believe it or not, some of these are up exponentially off of the lows.  One is up 30-fold from the end of March, and amazingly the best winners were not in tech or biotech.  We have provided a weekly synopsis and the reason for their from the lows.

American Dairy Inc. (NYSE: ADY) is one that many have not even heard of as a stock for the annals of winners.  Yet Friday’s 54% gain to $28.48 made it the biggest winner of the day of all listed stocks, and the shares finished up 62% for the week.  On a year-over-year basis, sales rose a sharp 191%, income from operations rose by 523%, and net income rose by 282%.  The company is a producer and distributor of premium infant formula, milk powder and soybean, rice and walnut products in China.  That is a new 52-week high, and up about 250% from its lows of the year.

Biocryst Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: BCRX) rose 31% to $3.19 on heavy volume of more than 2.6 million shares on news of an ASCO pre-presentation abstract showing positive Phase II results from its clinical trial for forodesine in the treatment of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma.  Because of heavy selling on Monday after disappointing flu drug news, BioCryst was ‘only’ up 8% for the week from the $2.95 close the prior Friday and this essentially took the stock back to last week’s highs.  As a reminder, this was one of the speculative swine flu stocks, and its stock has come way off of the levels after the Swine Flu hit Mexico and then the U.S.

Diedrich Coffee Inc. (NASDAQ: DDRX) is coming back from the dead.  Shares were only up 2.7% to $12.91 Friday, but this was up 30% from the prior Friday.  You better be  sitting down when we tell you this.  Diedrich was a $0.42 stock at the end of March.  The company has completed its transition to a premier coffee roaster and wholesaler that recently sold its Gloria Jean’s franchise operations.  This is enough to make a man cry, but this stock is up over 30-fold since the end of March.

DigitalGlobe, Inc. (NYSE: DGI) completed its IPO this week.  The first early huge gains did not hold, but the IPO did close the week up in positive territory.  The IPO priced at $19.00, which is over 10% above the mid-point of the expected $16 to $18 expected price range.  At $20.50 after a 4% drop, and even after seeing some initial prints at $25.00, we are welcoming this one as one of the week’s key winners.  Digital imaging from satellites that powers defense agencies, oil and mining, and even Google, that is good enough considering how few IPO’s we have had in the last six months.

Maybe it takes a ‘triple-leverage inverse ETF’ to win when the banks and financials spend the week doing massive amounts of secondary offerings after huge recoveries from the March lows.  The Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (NYSE: FAZ) was the winner for that move, and it had the volume to prove it.  This gained less than 6% on Friday to close at $5.90 for the week, but that is up over 30% for the week from a prior Friday close of $4.49.

Loral Space & Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: LORL) hit a new 52-week high on Friday after closing up only 3%, yet shares finished up over 22% for the week and shares are up some 150%  over the last two months.  The company’s earnings this week were no major standout, but as the company CEO said, “We are buoyed by the steady overall industry demand, despite the economic climate… The strong backlogs at both Telesat and SS/L will continue to support our progress toward creating long term shareholder value.”  Space, the Final Frontier.

Red Hat Inc. (NYSE: RHT) was almost a stealth stock.  On Friday, its shares rose by a sharp 9.6% to $19.86 after Jefferies reiterated a the stock with a Buy rating and lifted the target to $21.00.  There has been speculation that IBM or Oracle or another player may want to buy the Linux software suite seller.  After a $17.60 close the week before, Red Hat was up almost 13% for the week and is up almost 200% from its 52-week lows.

WuXi Pharma Tec (NYSE: WX) was a total screamer.  You might even be able to say that the Chinese dug, biotech, and medical outsourcing company is coming back from the grave based on its performance.  Earnings were good enough despite a drop, yet two analysts upgrades exacerbated the move.  Shares rose over 40% Friday to end at $7.98, making this one up roughly 33% for the week.

DigitalGlobe is set to  open for trading this morning in another highly anticipated initial public offering.  The satellite imagery company will trade on the NYSE with the ticker “DGI.”  The IPO was priced at $19.00 for some 14.7 million shares.  Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS), Och-Ziff Capital Management (NYSE: OZM), Orbital Sciences Corporation (NYSE: ORB) are among the public companies which are all listed as shareholders of DigitalGlobe.

The lead underwriters are listed as Morgan Stanley and J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., and co-managers are listed as Citigroup, Merrill Lynch, and Jefferies.

The pricing is technically above the $16 to $18 per share price range we had previously indicated.  The company has two high-resolution satellites for detailed mapping and plans to launch a third satellite later this year. If you want a direct comparison, the company competes head to head with GeoEye, Inc. (NASDAQ: GEOY).

Revenues were $106.8 million in 2006, $151.7 million in 2007, and $275.2 million in 2008.  Be advised that about 70% of the revenues were from the US government.  Two other customers are Google, Microsoft, and Garmin.

Early indications are said to be north of $20.00, although that may rise or fall into the opening of this IPO.

Junto a su esposo de aquel entonces, Norman Brisky, formó parte en 1974 de la Junta Coordinadora Revolucionaria (JCR). Esta organización estaba auspiciada y ccordinada por los servicis de inteligencia cubanos (DGI) y aglutinaba a los más importantes grupos terroristas en America Latina.   Entre otros la integraban el Movimiento de Liberación Nacional (Tupamaros) de Uruguay,  el Movimiento de Izquierda Revolucionario (MIR) de Chile, el Ejercito de Liberación Nacional (ELN) de Bolivia y el Ejercito Revolucionario del Pueblo (ERP) de Argentina.

DigitalGlobe, Inc. may be the next high tech initial public offering, and it looks like several public companies will stand to benefit from it.  This is a high-resolution satellite image operation that will trade under the “DGI” ticker on the New York Stock Exchange.  We have a tentative launch indication of mid-May.  Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS), Och-Ziff Capital Management (NYSE: OZM), Orbital Sciences Corporation (NYSE: ORB) are the public companies which are all listed as shareholders of DigitalGlobe, although these are just a few among the lot of other listed owners and insiders.

A price range of $16.00 to $18.00 has been established, and this would yield approximately $250 million in gross proceeds before fees and commissions.  The lead underwriters are listed as Morgan Stanley and J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., and co-managers are listed as Citigroup, Merrill Lynch, and Jefferies.

The listed shares are noted 43,464,751 shares of common stock outstanding on April 15, 2009 and 44,871,007 shares of common stock outstanding after the completion of this offering.

Approximately 14.7 million shares are in the offering.  The company will be offering 1,366,256 shares of its common stock and the selling stockholders are offering 13,333,744 shares.

DigitalGlobe’s satellite images are used by the defense sector, energy sector, mining sector, and more. The company’s revenue was roughly $275 million in 2008.

Die Konsensuskonferenz Implantologie hat zum Referentenentwurf der Gebührenordnung für Zahnärzte (GOZ) die Stellungnahme des Bundesverbandes der implantologisch tätigen Zahnärzte (BDIZ EDI) übernommen, die bereits an das zuständige Referat im Bundesgesundheitsministerium (BMG) übermittelt ist und den Referentenentwurf in toto ablehnt.

Anlässlich ihrer Sitzung am 3. Dezember in Frankfurt/Main entschieden die Berufsverbände und Fachgesellschaften unter dem Dach der Konsensuskonferenz Implantologie, gemeinsam eine Stellungnahme zum Entwurf einer Verordnung zur Änderung der GOZ abzugeben. Auslöser und Grundlage dieser Entscheidung war die bereits vorliegende Stellungnahme des BDIZ EDI, die der Justiziar des Verbandes, der Medizinrechtsexperte Dr. Thomas Ratajczak (Sindelfingen), für den BDIZ EDI nach intensiver Prüfung des Referenten-Entwurfs formuliert hat.

Der BDIZ EDI greift darin drei Kernpunkte besonders an:

die Anhebung des Punktwertes um lediglich 0,46 Prozent,

die Öffnungsklausel, die Selektivverträge nach § 2a GOZ ermöglicht,

die Missachtung der Handlungs- und Vertragsfreiheit der Patienten durch § 2 GOZ.

In der nächsten Ausgabe seiner Mitgliederzeitschrift BDIZ EDI konkret, die Mitte Dezember erscheinen wird, vergleicht der BDIZ EDI in einer Synopse den allgemeinen Teil des GOZ-Entwurf 2009 mit der GOZ 1988. Auch die Erläuterungen des BMG zum Referenten-Entwurf werden kommentiert.

„Bei der GOZ ziehen wir endlich an einem Strang“, sagte BDIZ EDI-Präsident Christian Berger. Leider nicht übernommen hat die Konsensuskonferenz die Neubeschreibung der Indikationsklassen des BDIZ EDI. Die vier weiteren Fachgesellschaften/Berufsverbände – der Berufsverband Deutscher Oralchirurgen (BDO), die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Implantologie im Zahn-, Mund- und Kieferbereich e.V. (DGI), die Deutsche Gesellschaft für zahnärztliche Implantologie e.V. (DGZI) und die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Mund-, Kiefer- und Gesichtschirurgie e.V. (DGMKG) – haben die Vorschläge des BDIZ EDI abgeändert und eine deutlich restriktivere Einteilung formuliert.Besonderer Dank gilt der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Orale Implantologie (DGOI) von der die wesentlichen Impulse für diese Stellungnahme ausgegangen sind.
