Din pacate o veste nu tocmai buna a sosit de la Blizzard pentru fanii jocului Diablo.

Cei care asteptau iesirea celui de-al treilea titlu, Diablo III, mai au de asteptat.
Rob Pardo, VP executiv al departamentului de game design din cadrul Bllizard, ne-a anuntat ca Diablo III nu va fi lansat prea curand si se aud zvonuri ca nici macar in 2010.

“Am invatat din greselile pe care le-am facut in trecut cand anuntam lansarea unui joc mult prea devreme. Si, desi promiteam de fiecare data ca nu se va mai intampla asta, mereu repetam aceesi greseala. Si as prefera sa fac mereu aceasta greseala decat sa lansez un joc slab. Asa ca, acum va pot spune ca Diablo III nu va fi lansat anul viitor.”

Nu ne ramane decat sa asteptam si sa speram ca atunci cand se va lansa va fi ceva cu adevarat colosal.

Diablo III won’t be coming out for at least another year. Now, I’m sad that this game of biblical proportions won’t be out in 2010(or possibly 2011), but nothing warms my sick, dark heart quite like the tears of fanboys everywhere.

Why does it warm my heart so? Fanboys of anything are borderline-bipolar when it comes to the things they love. They will defend their favorite products and companies from negative thoughts thrown from reviewers or friends as though they were defending their children from pedophiles. But, if the creator or developer of said products changes something about those products, the fanboys will turn on the developers so fast, unleashing a steaming vitriol in the form of a boycott or an angry email. So, it’s because of this hypocrisy they display that I revel in their despair.

Couple quick things: This game may very well ruin my life when it comes out. Finally, a giant cactuar for your viewing pleasure/horror. Enjoy.

Con estas cosas ¡NO SE JUEGA!

Al parecer circulan por la red unos links que dicen ser la demo jugable del Diablo III. Pues bién, mucho ojito porque hay algunos links que pueden ser virus, por ejemplo aquellos que os digan que la demo es tan sólo 1 archivo comprimido de unas 10 MB; y luego hay otros que os dan alrededor de 30-40 links (los que yo he visto eran de rapidshare) que si os descargais os llevareis una desilusión si lo que quereis es jugar vosotros mismos, ya que lo que contienen dichos links es un video de demostración, eso sí, en una calidad excelente.

Dragon Age: Origins đã đạt 1 triệu lượt tải về

Diablo III sẽ chính thức xuất hiện vào năm 2011

Final Fantasy XIII xác nhận ngày phát hành tại phương Tây

Theo thông báo mới nhất từ EA, C&C4: Tiberian Twilight sẽ xuất hiện trên các kệ đĩa vào ngày 16/03/2010 ở Bắc Mỹ, và 19/03/2010 ở Châu Âu. Nhà phát hành EA cũng thông báo về việc đặt mua trước trò chơi tại EA Store, GameStop, và Direct 2 Drive. Torchlight

I went and grabbed Torchlight from Direct2Drive on Wednesday night, letting the game download while I slept.

Not that it was a huge honking download. It was just convenient for me to do it that way. I prefer to let downloads that last more than a minute or two happen while I am away from my computer.

So the next evening I installed it to give it a try.

After about 10 minutes I realized I had been playing for an hour. It is one of those.

It is slick, smooth, and quite clearly acquired some of the greatness that the Diablo series showed in the past.

If you have played the Diablo games of the past, the learning curve will be very short indeed. There are some deviations from how things worked in Diablo II, but Diablo II first shipped over nine years ago, so it is quite possible that reflection over that time might have lead the developers to different choices.

The main departures from the Diablo series are in art style and story tone.

The art style is cartoon-y, in the same vein as Team Fortress 2 and Battlefield Heroes. To wit, my Destroyer:

Some people won’t be able to get past that I am sure, but it works for me.

And part of the reason that it works is that the tone of everything is a little lighter than it was in Diablo.

Diablo was very dark (though not without humor) while tone of Torchlight is more befitting its look.

If you can get past those two items, the game feels like Diablo II brought forward 9 years.

Click to move, click to attack, right-click for your secondary attack, click to loot, click to do just about anything.

The settings are stone simple for a modern game.

I’m not sure what “Netbook Mode” does, but I gather that Runic is shooting for a large audience by trying to support very low end systems.

You cannot even remap keys. Not that you need to, since there are not all that many keys to learn, and almost everything you need is clustered on the bar at the bottom of the page.

I am a little leary about having the hot keys split up the middle. I tend to memorize the few keys I use all the time and go click on everything else. On the other hand, having health and mana moved in from my peripheral vision seems to be quite effective. Many of my Diablo deaths could be attributed my no glancing down to the corner of my screen to check health during a hairy fight.

But most other things will be remarkably similar to Diablo fans.

There are also health potions, mana potions, identify scrolls, town portal scrolls, three skill point trees, and all the equipment in the world dropping in various forms. There is even a hardcore check box at character creation, which I am going to assume means perma-death.

Which is not to say that there is nothing new.

The simple fact that the game runs on my home system at 1600×1200 versus the 640×480 for Diablo and 800×600 for Diablo II is a big deal to me. And on my system, a two year old quad-core with an nVidia GTS-250 video card, it runs very well.

It also runs well on my soon-to-be five year old laptop, though the CPU usage is such that I wouldn’t count on doing anything else on the machine while I was playing.

You also get a pet, either a cat or a dog, which fights along side you, has its own inventory slots, and can run back to town and sell stuff for you, though I haven’t check to see if he is getting short changed.

And speaking of inventory, you not only get the usual chest in town to store your excess goodies, but you get a shared chest that your other character can access.

Then, finally, there is fishing.

I caught one!

I haven’t actually fed a fish yet to my pet, nor eaten one myself (I’ve been too busy simply smacking stuff), but various fish are supposed to endow you with special benefits. Something to look into.

Sound great so far?

Now the killer. No multiplayer.

I know, what do I want for just $20?

But seriously, if the game had multiplayer, I could tell you what the instance group would be doing for the next few weeks.

Without multiplayer however, I get to decide if I go play with my friends or play Torchlight.

So that is a let down.

But, since the plan seems to be to move to a Torchlight based MMO of some sort, we may get multiplayer in some form in the future.

And since the game was designed with MODs in mind, I expect that the game will take on a life of its own if it achieves large scale success.

In the end, for $20, the game delivers enough sheer Diablo-esque joy for me to not fret too much about the missing multiplayer aspect. I am not that far into the game, but I can already tell I will get my money’s worth out of it. And there is something to be said for keeping things simple. I hope it finds enough success to finance the follow-on plans.

If you miss Diablo, you will probably be able to find a home in Torchlight until Diablo III ships.

But if you didn’t care for Diablo, this probably isn’t the game for you.

Diablo III is more. More action, more death, more skills, more color, more history, more beauty, more top-down, click-hungry, loot-happy, quick on – the cover, randomly-generated, killing the fantasy-horror. Beneath the waves of enthusiasm generated by its return in the form of twenty minutes of impressive amount of the game, there is the slightest undertow of anti-climax.

The game takes place in the sanctuary, a world of dark fantasy. Unknown to most of its inhabitants, Sanctuary was saved some twenty years ago of the demonic forces of the world by some earthly heroes that were brave and powerful. Most of those warriors who directly faced the armies of fiery hell were lucky enough to survive; went mad from their experiences. And most of the others have buried their memories and have frequently pushed the horrors from their thoughts. In Diablo III, the players will return to the sanctuary to confront evil in its many forms once again.
The same exciting look continues on to the real game play. The characters were great and rich detail but climbed pleasant environments. The characters are great, but can still be easily dwarfed by some of the largest creatures in the game. While at first thought that this was a boss, due to its rugged package and the complexity of their attacks, was later confirmed this was hardly a crowd crushed the likes of which you expect to see on a fairly regular basis. The enemies during the game will also demonstrate a variety of behaviors.

In Diablo III, potions still play a part in the action, but downplayed by its importance. Health globes, falling off defeated enemies and will boost the health of your character and those around you if you are playing cooperatively. So developers put it, the idea of enemies dropping health is one that will keep the player moving the game forward in comparison to try to avoid combat. In addition, a new toolbar on the skill, similar in location to the old potion belt in Diablo II, will make your skills that much more accessible, allowing you to easily switch between the skills in place. You can even share the skills quickly using the mouse roller for further ease of use. The result is a game you can probably play almost entirely with your mouse, no more hunting skills for using the F key on your keyboard. Here is most important addition with respect to a cooperative game: When a character picks up a health globe, any surrounding allies also benefit from the world of health, which looks like it will encourage players to stick together when cutting and slashing your way through the game. To your ears, it also sounds like almost any kind, but will have to see how it is done while the game comes.

Diablo III will use a new system by hand, but that is currently in development. The only thing which is known for sure is that it does not involve anything as filler items in a Horadric cube. Other mysterious detail, or lack of it, is included in the game’s story and the identity of the new threat as the first three evils were overcome.

08:34 | Det blev en timmes sovmorgon idag, jag kände att behövdes efter den intensiva gårdagen. Chicago Bears vann ännu en gång en match mot 49:ers i går kväll ett tag såg det ut att bli en kort match då 49:ers ledde matchen med 14-0 i första quartern. Efter första halvlek stod det 14-7 till 49:ers men matchen slutade 28-21 till Chicago Bears.

Jag blev sugen på att shoppa lite nya spel idag, men jag tycker att det svårt att veta vad jag ska prioritera. Army of Two har jag faktiskt spelat igenom en gång på PS3 på den svåraste svårighetsgraden och därmed låst upp alla de häftiga vapnen. Där känns inte just det spelet som någon prioritet trotts att det skulle vara ruskigt kul att spela det ihop med Los Victor.

Gears 2 står alltid på önskelistan och det har stått där som första alternativet väldigt länge men problemet är att om jag köper Gears så kommer det inte hinnas med så mycket mer framöver. Gears 2 är dyrt fortfarande och jag känner mig lite osäker inför att lägga ut så mycket pengar på någonting som kommer att beröva mig tid.

Min slutsats av allt detta är att jag ska boka Diablo III, ett spel som jag bara MÅSTE spela. Som kommer att gå att spela online och som kommer att släppas lite senare i år då det är mörkare och då det finns tid för att sitta och spela sönder sig. Jag tror att jag har fått lite avsmak för xbox 360 consolen därför att den låter så himla mycket och för att det kostar att spela online. Och mitt lilla minne håller på att ta slut vilket leder mig in på tankar om att köpa en hårddisk… Frustration!!

Los pasados días 21 y 22 de agosto de 2009 se celebró la BlizzCon 2009. Para los que no lo sepan, este es un evento que celebra Blizzard en el que se realizan actividades varias, mesas redondas con los desarrolladores de Blizzard Entertainment, e incluso algunos anuncios relacionados con los juegos de esta empresa.

La gran novedad para los amantes de la saga Diablo, entre los que me incluyo, es la presentación de un nuevo personaje Diablo 3: el monje. Este es un personaje de lucha y de combos. A título personal creo que una clase que tiene bastantes similitudes con la asesina de Diablo 2. A continuación os adjunto, respectivamente, el trailer oficial del susodicho y un gameplay del mismo:
