Oooh…my son is dying to get his hands on one of the coins that I found in the last few weeks. See, I won’t let them take any of the money until I tally it up for all you fine folks out there who care about such things as this like I do…so I leave it sitting on top of  the microwave, torturing them every day, until I can get here. So finally right??

PLUS, one fake quarter. It’s plastic and it has “COPY” written across both sides. It’s not even the right size. But I am so good at finding money on the ground I can find money that is not even real!

It’s a skill.

So before Genetics today I was sitting in the classroom with Mariah chatting about whatever random things we felt like talking about. Dr. Wild then asked if anyone would like to give a dime to this girl who needed to make a copy. I told them I would and gave the girl a dime. She then thanked me and went off to make her copy.

After Genetics I was walking over to pick up my goodie bag that we get from the Mom’s Club. As I made my way through the cold, windy campus, I looked down and spotted something shiny. It was a dime! I picked it up and continued on my way.

The point of this story? I think it’s really cool that I gave someone a dime and got one back.

Physics test tomorrow!

Just a quick money check after these few days…Damn Facebook BeJeweled game! I curse the creator! School, study, Care Plans, Laundry, Dishes, Bills, the Outdoors….all forgotten for a computer game that I can’t win.

Anyway here’s the total from the street:

39¢ that we have found in various locations around town. I need to go on some kind of coin website to see if any of these really old ones we find are worth any real money. The wheat pennies and the dimes that are made of actual silver….it would be hilariously ironic if all the loose change I find and am happy about is sitting in a jar when it could be earning me real cash.

My main criteria for Random Raptors Moments: Obscurity. I wanna find stuff that I didn’t even know happened. For example, did you know Mark Jackson moved into fifth in all-time assists in his half season in Toronto and even grabbed a standing ovation from the ACC crowd? Could’ve fooled me…

And it’s a good one.

I’ve been saving the pennies, nickels and dimes we’ve been finding all over the place, for one big post when I had time to do it.

Keep in mind, we pretty much find money everyday now, but with my schedule it’s too hard to put a few cents in here on a daily basis. But based on last night’s little post and the fact that I am hooked on some stupid internet game thru the facebook…i can take some extra time on Sunday to share this exciting money total! School prob won’t suffer any more than it did with my two martini study group if I wait a few more minutes today…let the fog clear and the headache subside…

Anymoney…here is the top news first (everything else after is anti-climatic, but it is still money!):

Approx. one month ago: In a pizza restaurant parking lot, as we were leaving, just laying on the ground folded up: Twenty dollars! Yes, 20! Twenty. It was dark too. I spotted it and picked it up. I figured it was some bill, but twenty was a surprise!

Oh, and I think Mason found a penny as we were going in!

Then I made notes on a scrap paper like this:

Bowling: M= 1¢ S=$1.27

M+S weekend, 12¢

Penny at clinical.

1¢ at school.

10¢ Stevie school.

More school money, 47¢ with a date, 10/12/09

And then I have a bunch of loose change that we found and put on the microwave just waiting for this special day: 21¢

Grand total for the last month or so…$22.23!

Dimes – The Antonio EP

Voici Dimes un artiste que j’ai découvert de liens en liens sur la plateforme myspace.  The Antonio est son premier EP, et pour une première je trouve que ça sonne plutot bien. Il regroupe 6 tracks psychédéliques qui au final, je trouve, sont assez hétérogènes et variées. On passe d’une ambiance glock à une ambiance plutôt funky. Dimes ne fait pas dans la dentelle et c’est ça qui m’a plu chez lui. Je vous propose d’écouter “A“. Son EP est paru début septembre sur les ondes et ce dernier est toujours en free download sur son myspace.

my bro lost his hamster for like the 3rd time this month! i mean how amny times can ya lose a hamster! COME ON! lol! well today he has soccer practise and i have this baseball practise thing so ya im busy but  I JUST FOUND A TON OF QUARTERS! thjere going in my quarter collection LOL (i collect coins and are a coin freak) lol

Enjoy these silly postings because they will be few and far between soon. Few and far between soon. Say that five times fast. That’s alot of description words or conjunctions or something…anyway…I’m losing the steam for being able to do all I want when I want. The time is short. Even shorter than I realized a week ago. But this is not about that. This is about money. On the street. So here’s the count. Today and yesterday.

Found my lucky penny yesterday before school, but it was only half lucky.

And today was a nickel and dime day. Nickel on the street. Dime at the Walgreen’s. It was on the outside under a mat in a crack. (If you read this post kind of sing-songy it sounds like Dr. Suess)

So the total for now is 16¢

More Money! The BF found three cents today! AND he picked it up! It counts! That brings us to 19¢! Oh my!

It gives me luck and fills me with hope.

That is asking alot of some loose change I find on the ground. Which I did. Saturday and today. One cent and one cent.

We found money. I have managed to keep it in neat rows for posting so I wouldn’t get confused about how much and what day and where. But, it has been, like a week, and even though I am pretty anal, I’m just not that good at keeping track of the coins when I had more important career-building school studies to worry about. So here it is, all in one big clump:

Six cents. Somewhere. I found it, but the memory is gone. Maybe walking the kids to school…

Four cents. Most likely found on the way to school based on the ratty nature of the coins.

Six cents. Mason found, riding his bike around at the end of our block.

Eleven cents. Somewhere over the weekend, I think. Most likely in a parking lot.

Twenty-two cents! At the laundromat! Washing the bed comforter. Exciting weekends. I wonder what I would do on Saturday and Sunday if I was rich?? What would I do on any of the week days?? Doesn’t matter.

The kids went camping all Labor Day weekend and Stevie said she found a quarter! But, she spent it on candy. It doesn’t count if it doesn’t come home.
