A big, strong and powerful voice makes the following classic disco tune unique ! There aren’t a lot of songs that are as powerful, deep and emotional as this one. It’s one of the best songs I ever heard my life yet ! FANTASTIC ! The Originals’ 1977 soulful disco-shaker “Down To Love Town (Dim’s Full Length Disco Citay Remix)”. Dimitri, who in my opinion, always comes with some of today’s most solid disco edits, does a nice big job here, building the track up and breaking it down a number of times to keep the song sounding fresh for it’s nine plus minute duration. This version was released on Dimitri From Paris’ 2006 In The House of Love mix LP.

PLEASE give this unique, brilliant, enornmous song a chance! There are so much soul and deep emotions in it !

Quite a while ago Tracey K. and Fish Go Deep released The Cure and The Cause, deep tunes, an unmistakable voice and a beautiful video. The following remix I’ve heard the first time on the mixtape Daydream, then I searched and found the name of this special edit. Dimitri is an icon of traditonal and original House-music, he has got the ability to lend a jazzy-touch to the music. This compilation is the successor of the, I call it, ‘Playboy Mansion’-series (2002-2003) and Dimitri’s return is great partly ‘loungy’ partly ’sexy’ sound, you shouldn’t miss !

On the other hand I’ve got some old stuff and it’s pure Jazz. It’s a 3 CD-Box, full of Jazz-music that isn’t only suitable for all Non-Jazz-Listeners, it’s a delight for everybody! It partly concerns songs, which one may hear gladly in a bar or on a cocktail party. Classical songs which one knows and songs those simply for the relaxation serve. It’s a CD-Box, which is meanwhile so reasonably that it is no bad idea to invest exactly there:

Las raíces del house emergen de la escena gay de mediados de los años 70, en los clubes de Nueva York y Chicago. Los dee jays de Manhattan Walter Gibbons y Larry Levan, y Frankie Knuckles en Chicago, construyen la plataforma de transición de la disco music al house, y antros como The Paradise Garage en Nueva York y The Warehouse en Chicago (se dice que de este legendario lugar surgió el nombre de esta música.

De esta primera camada de productores y dee jays fundadores se tienen pocos registros grabados, pues el origen de house se establece directamente en la remezcla de temas de disco music con elementos electrónicos. Walter Gibbons, Larry Levan, Frankie Knuckles, Jamie Principle (creador del primer éxito house), Jesse Saunders, Ron Hardy, Nicky Siano, Francois Kevorkian, Farley “Jackmaster” Funk, Tony Humphries, David Morales y Robert Owens, entre otros.

En esta fase de desarrollo, el house cuenta ya con una serie de productores y sellos disqueros preocupados en profesionalismo y talento de artistas y grupos en ascenso que dieron un sonido más distintivo al género. Marshall Jefferson, DJ Pierre, Larry Heard, Adonis, Steve “Silk” Hurley, Baby Ford, Phuture, Ce Ce Rodgers, Shep Pettibone, Mr. Lee, K Alexi, Tinny Regisford, Liz Torres, Keith Nunally, Boyd Jarvis y Jellybean Benitez, Dimitri From Paris, Blaze Little Louie Vega, Masters At Work, Armand Van Helden, y muchos más.

La Tercera generación-mediados de los 90

El house llega a Europa, principalmente a Inglaterra a finales de los años 80, extendiéndose a Ibiza, Alemania e Italia, donde tiene un impulso propio con la Italo-disco, y más tarde América Latina, Japón y otros países, produciéndose una fusión con la música de las culturas locales, como parte de la plena internacionalización del género.

Personajes clave en esta época como Paul Oakenfold y Danny Rampling, dieron una imagen cosmopolita, gran colorido y espiritualidad al estilo de vida relacionado con la música electrónica para bailar, junto con una pólvora llamada ecstasy.

Mike Pickering, Satoshi Tommie, Danny Tennaglia, Nicky Holloway, Johnny Walker, Green Velvet, Carl Cox, Danny Tenaglia, Deep Dish, Sasha, Digweed, entre otros, fueron las primeras grandes estrellas que llevaron la música house del guetto a los clubes de cinco estrellas.

El futuro

Las bases del house se han extendido más allá del siglo XX, sembrando de posibilidades asombrosas el estallido musical en el dancefloor, dando lugar a formas híbridas que colindan con otros géneros, renovando las variables de un género diseñado para ser disfrutado con el cuerpo. En el último tercio de la década de los 90, diversos exponentes han inyectado sangre nueva al house, con sonidos importados de la samba, el jazz, la rumba, el flamenco, así como préstamos de otras expresiones electrónicas, principalmente el techno, y la incorporación de estéticas y técnicas minimalistas, dando origen al minimal house y al micro house, con exponentes como Deadbeat y Luomo.
