Last-fm per me è una fottuta droga…c’è poco da fare!Scrobblare tutta la musica che ascolto e vedere le statistiche del mio profilo mi fà sentire super felice.Forse perchè sono sempre stato un monomaniaco per la musica,i gruppi e le discografie dei gruppi anche quelli che non cago e non mi piacciono.La musica per me è una droga,una cosa di cui non posso fare a meno e tutti quelli che mi conoscono lo sanno bene.Quindi di conseguenza anche il profilo di Last-fm per me è una mania ma penso di averlo detto numerose volte.Ogni giorno accedo al mio profilo e dò un occhiata alle mie classifiche a quali gruppi salgono o scendono come ascolti.Poi debbo dire che a livello visivo è fatto molto bene anche se diverse modifiche mi avevano fatto storcere il naso all’inizio.Ora mi sono abituato e lo considero quasi perfetto.Ci sono tantissime applicazioni create dai diversi utenti ed è possibile implementare le proprio classifiche all’interno del proprio blog.Insomma una malattia totale che cerco di diffondere a tutti.

* Though the verb isn’t specified here, inferring from the parallel with the sentence above, I think you could interpret this line as “(I turn) the evidence called living (into a voice..).”.

So this is our first live report, and Kowezhi and Aoliwa are doing it together! From start to finish we’ll jam pack as many details as we can remember.

Aoliwa: On Monday, November 16, 2009, Kowezhi and I set off for Chicago. This was our second Dir en grey show and we had a lot of high expectations. It would be a three hour drive to the Metro, the venue of the show.

KWZ: Yup, I drove the whole three hours. We ended up arriving there with another three hours of waiting ahead of us. We pulled into a public parking lot (the very one next to that hotdog place) across from the Metro, and walked across the street to see that some crazy people had camped outside and there was already a decently long line. It wasn’t too cold at first, but with wind chill it was freezing! I eventually walked over to a nearby McDonald’s and bought some warm things to consume.

ALW: Ok! So we met up with our friend Kelly, and it was finally time to enter the Metro. It took a little bit to get through security, but eventually we made it in. Willis and I found our way to the concert hall and meandered our way through the mosh pit. Through various pushing and shoving (not by us though… by people in the waaay back), we ended up being in the second or third row of people in the mosh pit. Yay for us!

KWZ: Yeah!! It was great that we were that close. Anyway, the opening act was this weird band called “Digital Mindy”. I will give them this, they were better than last year’s opener, “The Human Abstract”. They had a sort of dark school uniform theme going on and they were all kind of on the fat side, but at least they did something…. Last year, all you could hear of the opening act was the bass drums. Absolutely NOTHING else. This time you could hear everything pretty decently balanced except for the bass guitar, which was inaudible. Oh right…. This being an all ages concert makes this funny: they had strippers come out and do some dancing for a couple of their songs. Aoliwa laughed about how when they came out, all the guys in the room would turn to watch them lol. They were really nothing special to look at… On with the music: I had no idea what the vocalist was saying in almost any of the songs, except i did manage to pick out some of their lyrics. I won’t bother mentioning what they were because they were just repetitive and bad. Overall, the opening act was… meh. All their songs sounded pretty much the same. Don’t bother checking them out. Please. We were at the Metro for DIR EN GREY!

ALW: Ok so now it’s time for Diru!!! As soon as they came on the entire mosh pit lurched forward (this was how we got so close to the front!) As to be expected they entered the stage with Sa Bir in the background. The first official song they played was Vinushka. Not the short version either… the full 9+ minutes of epicness. I couldn’t believe the intensity of the song… Vinushka was flawless.

Next up? Red Soil. We all know this is the third track from Uroboros. Kowezhi and I were right in between Kyo and Die, so we got to see a lot of Die’s technique here. He played with such great accuracy.

Now we have REPETITION OF HATRED, the first track from their previous album, Marrow of the Bone. This song is a personal favorite of mine. This track is one of their heavier tracks and it’s great for lives. I couldn’t help but scream “dead passion!” along with everyone else.

KWZ: Ahh yes, continuing on with the epicness…. Stuck Man was next on the set list. I have to say, I love the bass lines in this song. Being much more complicated, they also show Toshiya’s skill. And as Aoliwa mentioned we were close to Die. It was really cool to see his technique up close! He makes it all look so easy…

A favorite of both the crowd and Dir en grey, Agitated Screams of Maggots definitely had every one riled up. It got pretty crazy once this song started. I love hearing this song live because you can see that Diru really gets into it.

Obscure, another of their well known songs was played after. Nice heavy song. It’s amazing to watch Kyo putting so much effort into screaming and just pushing himself to the limit. Damn good performance! I really wish I could see them more..

ALW: What I loved about this concert was the variety in both the members’ behavior and the setlist. We had songs from Uroboros all the way back to Vulgar. The members also did some unique things as well. Kaoru and Die shifted between 5 different guitars each; it just shows how specific they are about their sound.

Along with water and towels, the stage crew also provided the band with beer. Toshiya opened his about two songs in xD.  The crowd got excited and he waved back in acknowledgment.

Alright, back to the show! The next few songs are all from Uroboros. Bugaboo has an interesting title… but it is one kickass song. You could tell Kyo was really in control of his vocals here.

Now we have Toguro, one of my favorite songs from Uroboros. I love the guitar harmonies especially. Before the song, Die and Kaoru switched guitars again. On the album this song opens with some of Kyo’s soft vocals layered over one another in a very spiritual way. Throughout the show Kyo had been doing these Buddhist-like chants (recall the live version of Agitated Screams of Maggots on the Dozing Green single). That’s how Kyo lead into this song; it created an almost ethereal atmosphere.

Yay now we have Glass Skin, the last single before Uroboros was released. Glass Skin is definitely on the softer side, as it opens up with a simple piano melody. This song moved the audience, and things slowed down for a bit.

Glass Skin was the perfect lead in to the best ballad on Uroboros, Inconvenient Ideal. I was sooooo excited when they performed this song. Almost instantly everyone had their eyes on Kyo.. he began with very soothing vocals before he completely opened up with his raw and passionate vocals. Listening to this song was simply amazing. I almost cried here ._.

KWZ: Dozing Green was next on the set list. This has been one of my favorite songs since I first heard it. Kyo’s vocals were perfect. And I watched Die’s guitar technique again. It was actually really nice to be on his side because you get to hear all of the harmonies their songs. Whenever I listen to this song I am always anxious for near the ending where Kyo does a series of piercing screams. Best part of the song! However… Rather than hearing Kyo, I heard a bunch of fan girls -_-

Another song from an earlier era, Merciless Cult came right after. I love this song and I guess part of that is because Diru pretty much has their own cult haha…. Anyway, it was perfect! They are so consistent and keep together so well, it’s amazing. This is a really catchy song too… I couldn’t help but sing the chorus with the crowd. If I remember correctly… it sounded a lot like the album recording tone wise. They must have used the same guitars/effects…

Their last song before the encores, Reiketsu Nariseba, was awesome. I really think that Kyo is a pro at chanting. During the middle of the song there is a section that he does so before bringing back the rest of the band. Pure sexiness. And it was a perfect choice because it left everyone asking for more Dir en grey! (Of course they would anyway… but really, it was great)

ALW: Yay encore time! We only got 3 encores, but I think that was due to the fact that we got some really long songs in the setlist (props to Kaoru). The crowd was ecstatic when they started playing The Final, one of their best known songs. This song made me cry… again. It’s a very emotional song for both Kyo and the fans.

Also… I thought I’d like to point this out. At one point during the show while most people were looking at Kyo I’m pretty sure Die and I made eye contact. Just saying xD

KWZ: Their second encore was Kodou. This song is overall a bit softer than the other songs. It was great to hear Kyo singing for a bit. Also, it was a sort of break for the audience too. No need to jump around and scream lots. Towards the end though, when Kyo started the screams, the crowd followed suit. Gah, I swear that the fan girls hurt my ears more than their sound system!

“Last song!!  LAST SONG!” shouted Kyo. Dir en grey ended this concert with Gaika, Chinmoku ga Nemuru Koro. This fast-paced song was a great way to bring the show to a close. After our break with Kodou, we got to use up more energy with this. Frickin’ awesome! All of the band was going wild with this one.

On a side note: At some point during the concert, Toshiya came over to our side and did his crowd provoking. We got to see him up pretty close too!

ALW: So here we have it, the glorious end to an amazing show. Afterward Kowezhi and I waited in line forever to get merchandise. We finally made it and got a shirt and DVD. Shinya and Die signed our DVD. They eventually came downstairs into the store to sign stuff and Kowezhi and I turned around and right there was Die *___* We said “arigatou” and bowed… they smile=]

DEG / Blog 7 (Shinya) Category: Blogging We are in Chicago today and I ate hot dog for lunch.   I am always bored before Soundcheck. So, I decided to do some ab exercise today too. It is difficult and hard to do it without touching my knees to the floor. It is colder than New York outside. And the fans in line look cold too. We’re working on a joint live review of the concert so get excited xD

We’d like to make it as comprehensive as possible, therefore it will take a couple days to complete. It will be worth it though!

P.S. I’d like to take this opportunity to fully endorse Diru’s most recent album, Uroboros. In my opinion it’s their best album to date, and many of the songs from the setlist were taken from it. Give it a listen =]

Our HallyuHoneys readers have been asking why has there been such a gap in our blog postings lately and we feel it’s time we answer that question for you all. Currently, Tiffny and I have embarked on a new endeavor for our involvement in the entertainment industry. We are no longer just bloggers or reporters but organizers of rare and exclusive events, let us tell you about it…

Our first test event was  held at Kinokuniya. We  invited local J-rock bands Uzuhi, Noircuer, and Geist, to participate in a live interview and panel hosted by The Lady Miz Diva Velez.  Our Miz Diva runs her very own pop-culture hub over at the Diva Review. Her amazing personality, super cool looks and cultured poise made her the perfect host! With that day being a smashing success, we have now climbed up the ladder and our most recent event for which we again teamed up with the lovely Lady Miz Diva was also held at Kinokuniya.  This time our featured guests were none other than DIR EN GREY.

Yes, you read correct, Dir En Grey the most successful Japanese rock export to hit the States, were brought to fans in part by us for this exclusive event. We’ve transformed into a non-for-profit-arts company called 2gNY and with our sister company La-umi,  came together under The Diva Review to become The Diva Crew.

You can imagine our excitement as our 6 foot banner featuring artwork and logo’s that Tiffny designed graced the second floor windows of Kinokuniya, overlooking Bryant Park at the Ave of the Americas. More so our collectable posters that again, Tiffny designed, were given out toVIP, Press and contest winners. These items were then signed by Dir En Grey for fans at the event. The band and their team was truly impressed at the end of the evening, and hearing directly from the band of their gratitude was so worth it.

So now you know why… and yes we are working with so many more amazing export Asian artists very soon. Meet & Greets, Live Panels, Unplugged and Exclusive performances are going to be coming your way. All brought to you by your Hallyu Honeys Mia and Tiffny aka 2gNY!

Okay, to start off my camera is officially dead. Which means that even though you can find two blurry cameraphone pictures that I tweeted last night over on my TwitPic, I’m not going to bother you with them here. I tried to turn it on at the show last night though and it beeped at me a lot and then just kind of … stopped functioning entirely. If someone wants to buy me a really late or really early Christmas present, that would be wonderful.

Last night was the first Dir en grey show I’ve been to in two years. I honestly haven’t been feeling their newer music (MARROW OF A BONE and UROBOROS were less than thrilling in my own opinion), so I’ve skipped out on their last few U.S. tours. However, they were doing three gigs in New York and people that I’ve known through the Internet for years, but still had never met in person were flying in for the week, so I decided to go to their last show down at The Gramercy Theatre last night.

The opening act for Dir en grey was a band called Suicide City. They were pretty cool, actually. They added me on MySpace a while back, but I had never seen them live before. Most of the other hardcore Dir en grey live show attendees seemed to know them too, so I take it they’re regular New York Dir en grey openers. They had great energy, and did a great job warming up the crowd for Dir en grey.

Dir en grey though – their concerts are still amazing. Even though I didn’t know any of their new music, I still had a great time at the show. To be honest I feel as though they were missing something that they used to have a few years ago, but they still just put so much into every song, and seem to have such a great time up there! They were smiling for most of the show, which was just great to see.

I was in a minidress and high-heeled boots, so I didn’t venture too far into the pit, but I left my usual concert post by the bar and went in for a bit to headbang and rock out with some of my friends.  It’s almost impossible not to just let go and kiss a stranger or headbang or just let loose a little at one of their concerts. I think that may be why their shows appeal to so many young people.

They also did a signing and meet & greet after the show – after all of the shows, actually – which I think is really great. I didn’t stick around, since to be honest it’s not really my “thing,” but such a level of accessibility from a band that sells out so many of their shows, and from a group of guys that are really so private, is wonderful to see.

Para a maioria dos presentes era só um show estranho, como a MTV porcamente classificou, uma mistura de trash metal com new metal hiper saturado. Uma impressão compreensível de qualquer pessoa alheia ao movimento cultural em que estava inserida a apresentação da banda Dir en grey no Maquinaria Festival, no dia 8 de novembro.

Para uma minoria daquela audiência, que se apertava entre os fãs que acampavam por dias na espera do Evanascense ou do Panic at the Disco, a apresentação da banda japonesa, que se tornou popular (como todas as outras do gênero) através da internet, representava muito mais do que um show por si só, era a realização de um sonho que até poucos anos atrás cogitava-se absurdo.

O Dir en grey sempre foi uma banda de extremos e por isso sempre se manteve viva na cena, desde seus primeiros anos como uma das mais ‘chocantes’ e populares bandas de visual kei, até ser uma das primeiras a tentar se livrar por completo do estigma do gênero, sempre foi uma banda polêmica, e, seja para uma parcela saudosista da fanbase, ou para os novos adeptos, sempre havia conteúdo para agradar a todos. Este ano a banda colocou no mercado seu último álbum, Uroboros, muito mais coerente que os últimos lançamentos, é agressivo e com uma ambientação muitíssimo bem resolvida, que para muitos adeptos reposicionou a banda no topo dos shows mais desejados no ocidente.

Foi nesse clima que centenas de fãs apareceram no festival, entre caras velhas no cenário e a garotada que começa a dar as caras agora, todos sem saber ao certo o que esperar, mas no fundo muito ansiosos pelo que iria acontecer, e como seria a repercussão daquele show no meio de um festival desse porte, pra uma audiência tão distinta.

Logo após o show da banda Duff Mckagan’s Loaded, o público fiel já gritava o nome da banda, de maneira ainda receosa, ainda digerindo a idéia de que eles iriam mesmo aparecer ali. No finalzinho da tarde, com o sol prestes a cair, começou a tocar Sa Bir, a música intro do Uroboros, e foi o suficiente para o público enfim entrar em frenesi. Estava fotografando do pit em frente ao palco, quando me virei para procurar por caras conhecidas vi uma platéia bem mista, com diversas pessoas já aos prantos, algumas aos berros, de mãos dadas, com os punhos no ar…

Em seguida foi a minha vez de começar a tremer. Acredito que pela metade da intro a ficha começou a cair de verdade. E quando vi o Shinya (baterista) subir pelo canto esquerdo do palco a adrenalina subiu aos céus. Era pra valer, em alguns minutos começaria a pancadaria.

A banda se posicionou, e após a entrada do Kyo (vo), a intro parou. Um momento de tensão e já conhecíamos todos o grito agudo que viria após o riff da guitarra de Kaoru, mudando por completo a impressão que aqueles músicos até bastante arrumadinhos davam de primeira. E veio rasgando com Shokubeni. A música já deixava claro o estilo da banda, melodias intercaladas com berros vezes agudos vezes graves, uma música agressiva e com refrão emocionante.

Sem dar tempo pra se recuperar veio Repetition of Hatred, também bastante forte e agressiva, como seria todo o show. A banda parecia aos poucos ficar mais a vontade no palco, e o baixista Toshiya começou a mostrar a empolgação que faria toda a imprensa local destacar sua participação. Agitated Screams of Maggots veio então para provar que aquele setlist seria para bater a cabeça até não sobrar absolutamente nada da coluna. Uma faixa mais rápida e que mostrou a intensidade da presença da banda ao vivo.

Após veio a (um pouco) inesperada The Final, música antiga mas muitíssimo querida dos fãs da banda. Esta fez todos ali se empolgarem ao máximo, cantando junto e surpreendendo os fãs das outras bandas que não esperavam por uma audiência tão fervorosa para uma banda desconhecida, quanto mais que fossem acompanhar as músicas aos berros e em um alfabeto estranho. Era minha última música no pit fotografando, e eu já não aguentava mais segurar a adrenalina. Era a hora de procurar alguma roda pra me enfiar.

Em seguida veio a realmente surpreendente Vinushka, música nova porém com quase 10 minutos de duração. E que foi tocada na íntegra. 10 minutos MUITO bem equilabrados, com partes melódica muito emotiva, trilhas de guitarra lindas e partes berradas realmente convincentes, uma música que cresce e cresce até explodir em pancadaria. E, graças aos céus, eu cheguei de volta na pista a tempo de largar a camera e bater cabeça até a alma sair pela nuca. O surpreendente é que uma parcela boa das pessoas que, ao meu redor, se empolgavam com a banda não faziam idéia da existência dela até alguns minutos. Ainda em Vinushka notei a primeira roda convincente, não foi lá uma das mais bonitas desse mundo, mas foi bom saber que os bons costumes ainda estavam sendo mantidos!

Em seguida veio Obscure. O pouco da intro foi o suficiente pra reconhecer a música, mas quando as guitarras e a batera entraram, bem, daí em diante as impressões que eu tenho do show são meio confusas. Eu lembro de umas fãs que vieram do Japão que batiam a cabeça que nem as fãs japonesas batem a cabeça em show, daquela maneira meio forjada e estranha, mas até, hmmm, fofa. Eu lembro de ter entrado na roda que nem um viking gritando qualquer coisa incompreensível como o próprio Kyo, e de ter machucado alguém, meio que sem querer querendo. Reiketsu Nariseba passou pra mim ainda na sombra de Obscure, eu não tinha saído do frenesi de ouvir uma das minhas músicas preferidas. Parei pra reparar na música só quando ela diminui de ritmo, pra depois voltar pro frenesi junto com ela.

A bateria no início de Dozing Green me fez parar um pouco pra apreciar o show. A perfeição com que a música era executada ao vivo era impressionante, apesar de ser toda quebrada ela estava lá, exatamente como todo mundo conhecia. Nota a nota, berro a berro. Inconvenient Ideal, linda, bem executada, uma música mais lenta e angustiante, que veio junto com o comecinho da noite, revelando o belíssimo set de luzes do palco do Maquinaria.

Por fim, Kyo anuncia a última música com a única coisa dita para a audiência durante todo o show: “Rasutoooo!” (last). Gaika, Chinmoku Ga Nemuru Koro, fechando um show que pareceu muito maior do que realmente foi, e muito menor do que a audiência gostaria que fosse. Aplausos vindo de todos os lados, de fãs e de até então desconhecidos, todos certamente surpresos com a força da banda que representa muitíssimo bem o que a indústria fonográfica do Japão tem de melhor para oferecer, por toda sua história, sua inegável individualidade e principalmente sua presença e força!

Seriously. I don’t have a little black dress…WHY!? What the hell is wrong with me? I never think to get one until it’s too late. Tomorrow I have this event to do at Kinokuniya concerning Dir En Grey…and I’m freaking out because I don’t have anything to wear that’s suitable. I was planning on wearing  just jeans, a tee, and maybe some boots….but then my cohort reminded me..um there’s going to be press…which means press photos and even though this event has nothing to do with me per say, I don’t want to be frozen forever in photographs looking crazy. And by no means is this a formal event, but an LBD is so perfect one could dress it up to be appropriate for any event. So now, here I am at the 11th hour tearing my room apart for something to wear. FUCK. Ideally I’d wear something like I polyvored up there, but seeing as I own nothing of the sort, and have no money to buy something of the sort, I’m probably going to wear my original outfit concept…and dodge the cameras all night.

Muchos, muchas veces nos hemos sentido identificados con esta, esta y la otra banda…no ? o.o pues bien, muchas veces desatamos la locura loco* disque* por verlos y nos miran feo e_e pero al final nos vale zi* brazo* y hacemos lo que se nos de la gana con tal de poder verlos un momento, de estar cerca de ellos, de sentir sus babas mojando nuestras caras cuando estamos en primera fila leng* baba* y somos felices con eso n_n. Ahora bien…¿hasta que punto seríamos capaces de llegar?.

Sé que muchos han llegado enfermos a los conciertos, otros se han mojado, algunos trabajan a full para conseguir dinero y así…compramos sus discos originales o.o ¿qué podría ser más extremo? ¿Pensaste que habías hecho de todo por tus ídolos? Entonces dinos que te parece la locura que desataron estos fanaticos de Dir En Grey durante esta semana a la espera del concierto del grupo japonés en Chile:

What do you have in mind when you draw?

What you seek when you try to improve?

How do you drive yourself to draw and improve?

I’m an attention seeker. For all these time I’ve been drawing, I really put effort to improve my work.
Most probably to gain people’s attention and recognition.

No matter how much I improve, I don’t feel appreciated in anyway.

Is it just exactly because of such feelings I can’t create works people like?
Or do I just not know how to sell/promote my works.

Everytime I work on something I always thought with every little improvement I will be rewarded with faves and whats not.

Is that the wrong thinking? Are faves just merely a statistic of how exposed your work is on dA?

Lately I’ve been wondering if such mindset of so eagerly wanting people’s recognition is wrong or not.
I’ve been trying to understand my feelings and putting it into my work.

Maybe I need time to let my works go through people?

No matter what, I’ll continue to improve on my skills.
And understand how to touch people’s heart through my work.

Ecco…che dire?Il problema è il deviant?Il problema è questo tipetto (che non è affatto male a livello artistico intendo *___*)?O ci sono altre cose dietro.Secondo me è qui lo scrivo e sottoscrivo..Deviant Art è solamente un punto di partenza.Nel senso che è un confronto è un ottimo mezzo di promozione ma fondamentalmente bisogna applicarsi.Bisogna scendere alla realtà delle cose.Noi non siamo nessuno…nel senso che il mondo è molto vasto e questa società contemporanea purtroppo o forse no ci ha dato la possiblità di applicarci in una miriade infinità di sogni e cose anche di natura artistica che forse un tempo avremmo solamente sognato.Deviant=Myspace per quanto concerne la musica.Non si può pretendere di aprire una pagina nel marasma del web,caricare due disegni o due file di musica se pur validi e poi avere un super successo.Bisogna sbattersi,promuoversi e qualche volta anche vendersi perchè il marasma dell’ “arte” prodotta ogni minuto è così tanta che non possiamo credere sempre di emergere.L’ho visto con la mia band gli “an Handful of Dust”.Bisogna crederci,migliorarsi e sbattersi.A volte anche per niente,non si può solamente piangere.Io credo nella mia band sino al midollo e sono pronto a dare il tutto per tutto anche se sarò destinato a restare nell’underground.E’ difficile,lo sò..ci si scazza …lo sò.. a volte ci si sente inutili ma bisogna provarci e coltivare questa passione o qualsiasi voglia passione anche solo per stare bene con se stessi..senza grandi pretese.Se invece della nostra passione vogliamo farci un lavoro prendete carta e penna e vendete l’anima al diavolo.Nel senso che quello che si ha davanti è solo merda,sangue e sudore.Non basta avere il talento..bisogna sbattersi a livello promozionale.E’ quello che in America chiamano Virus Marketing ovvero rompere i coglioni a più persone possibili se si vuole emergere sennò si rimane come prima o come sopra..inutili.Si possono iniziare miriadi di discorsi a proposito.Io e il pat abbiamo affrontato diverse volte questo discorso e precisamente un anno fa l’abbiamo fatto anche con il Gian.Io credo che il cambiamento sociale che abbiamo subito nell’arco di vent’anni ha fatto in modo che le persone a causa della mancanza di un identità precisa tentino in qualunque modo di crearne una.Per questo motivo ci sono tantissimi “artisti”,chiunque si sente in diritto di dire qualcosa ma è veramente così?Abbiamo tutti questo diritto?E’ una domanda complessa anche perchè è talmente facile essere cinici a riguardo di questo argomento.La prima cosa che ti passa per la mente quando guardi o senti qualcuno che non è capace e di dire…ma va a zappà la terra ma è veramente così?Cosa determina chi merita e chi non merita di esprimersi?E’ sempre lo stesso discorso anche se è così complesso….ci hanno dato tutto e forse non ci hanno dato niente.Al deviant in  questione ho scritto questo:”

The events/meetings of Visual Kei fans in Thailand are always at MBK Center (Mahboonkrong or มาบุญครอง) every month. MBK is a famous shopping center which has a big space for meeting at the corner of the street. It is near Siam Center, just across the street. You can just imagine of Thai girls dress as Harajuku people. People around the world know that Thai girls are very pretty, so what they will look like, … the prettiest one you saw in Japanese. No lie.

Some Visual Kei bands are so famous in groups of rich teenagers in Thailand, and a lot of Japanese animas do, too. These fans pay a lot of money for their costumes which they wear only in one day. Dir en Grey, Gazette, Miyavi (ex- Dué le Quartz) and D’espairs Ray are very famous currently. Although Malice Mizer is something old, but people always love to dress like them. Mana’s lip is very attractive and unique.

Nongnut is one of classmates in high school. She got asked to dress with a white-fur costumn, because it was not fit in her friend’s body. Her group liked Hyde, L’Arc~en~Ciel so much. She gave me her drawing of Hyde, and I still keep it. Hyde is considered as the best guy in L’Arc en Ciel. He is who you should talk with and have as a friend.

Right now, let’s cross the street to Siam Center. Several buildings have small rooms for rent. Most of those rooms are for rent. Many teachers rent them and their students have to pay a lot of money to take extra classes. It sounds mean that those teachers do not teach everything they know in the school, because they need more money. Visual Kei fans also rent the rooms, too. They use it for the meeting within their own group for each band. X Japan fans liked to eat some spicy things together. Some big fans of Visual Kei also buy many CD and DVD from Japan and sale them in this place. Most of the discs are second hand, because they already watched them. I walked up and looked around in the latest time I visited Siam Center. A group of teenatures with dark-eyes-make-up watched Yoshiki played his piano.

I know an event that X Japan fans usually do in May 2nd of every year. They will meet at MBK or Siam Center and have some party. They will take a bus or train to Hua Lamphong Temple, which is one of the best place to do Coffin-Offerings. They donate money for the corpses who do not have coffin. They hope all merit to go for Hideto Matsumoto (Hide or 秀人松本), their hero.

I do not usually dress as Visual Kei, but I do dress for Halloween. I had got a reward for the scariest dress. Sometimes, I dressed not for the contest. My close friend and I painted ourselves and walk around our high school. Halloween is my most favorite day of the year. So now, let’s go to class!

WARNING: DISTURBING CONTENT In the anime Yu Yu Hakusho, former spirit detective Sensui was shown a never ending videotape detailing all the crimes and wars of humanity.  I’m pretty sure these clips were taken from that video.  Nothing but 6 minutes of archival footage of murder, stabbing, strangling, throat slitting, jumping out windows, jumping off buildings, and just plain death.  World’s end girlfriends’s music was creepy enough but this video just put him over the edge.  At least it’s in black and white. seguimos con la intención de mostraros algunas de las cosas que hicimos durante los viajes a Japón que finalmente han desembocado en la elaboración del proyecto Crónicas desde Cipango, que poco a poco va llegando a su forma final. En esta ocasión, y siguiendo la veda abierta por el concierto de MUCC al que asistimos hace poco, hoy os hablamos también de música nipona y lo hacemos con algo muy especial. En 2008 tuvimos la oportunidad de asistir a un festival de esos que quitarían el hipo a cualquier fan del Rock japonés, el hide memorial summit, el homenaje a hide, guitarrista de X Japan, en el décimo aniversario de su muerte. No solo era especial por el hecho de asistir al homenaje del guitarrista de una de nuestras bandas favoritas, si no que además el cartel que se congregó fue de auténtico lujo: destacamos MUCC, Dir En Grey, Despairs Ray, Luna Sea y los propios X Japan entre otros. Un auténtico delirio, mucho más cuando todas las bandas se unieron para un épico tema final de X Japan, “X”.

El memorial duró un par de días, nosotros asistimos al segundo por razones obvias.

Os dejamos con el vídeo que hicimos hace tiempo, que es un poco largo, pero os aseguramos que vale la pena (buscadme en la fila 10, delante del escenario pequeño de la derecha ^_^).  Al final aparece una buena amiga opinando sobre el concierto y un servidor (pero en su momento no pensé en subtitularlo, así que haremos un poco de “escucha catalán” pepino-style).

Gracias a Yuri por comprar las entradas y acompañarme, por casualidad hoy es su cumpleaños お誕生日おめでとう
