Faltando apenas um dia para o lançamento (01/12/2.009)  do meu tão esperando DiRT2, a bendita Demo do jogo resolveu vazar em alguns sites da interwebz internet, e eu, obviamente, baixei testei o demo de tal.

Adeus a minha vida social...

Sério.
Acho que deve ter sido uma das melhores coisas que aconteceu no meu final de semana.
O jogo é simplesmente viciante. Eu, que já amomuitotudoisso gosto BASTANTE de GRID (inclusive, fiz questão de comprar na promoção do Steam por US$ 7,49) fiquei nada mais nada menos que três horas seguidas jogando as míseras duas corridas que estão disponíveis no demo.
Uma entitulada “Trailblazer” que consiste em um estagio de rally, mas em velocidade estupidamente alta.
Um mix de Pikes Peak com WRC e a outra (que gostei um pouco menos) intitulada “Land Rush”, onde pick-ups preparadas para rally e “Baja bugs” competem em um circuito fechado de terra.

Feio né? (NOT)

Desnecessário dizer que o jogo é lindo.
A Codemaster conseguiu elevar os gráficos do GRID a um outro nível estratosféricamente cósmico.
Os efeitos de iluminação, partículas (fumaça e etc) e até as bandeirinhas bonitinhas e balançantes foram feitas com o maior cuidado e atenção para proporcionar  maxima imersão e realismo possíveis.
E detalhe… Estou falando isso da versão DirectX 10.
Não consigo nem imaginar como o DirectX 11 pode deixar o jogo mais bonito do que já é.

Na minha opinião, esse com certeza vai ser o jogo de corrida que jogarei por um bom tempo.
Adoro um bom jogo de corrida, e este com certeza vai servir pra tirar a poeira do meu volante.

Hiatus <— It has happened.

Quite honestly I have no flippin’ clue what to post on here anymore, life is boring.  Got a haircut, rented DiRT 2, enjoying the second title update for Forza 3, went to see Fantastic Mr. Fox.  Yep, just average, boring life.

My ambition to create something interesting has not died, however.  I have many intentions of use for this blog, the challenge being picking the few that I’ll actually use.  News (or opinion on news)?  Reviews?  Media posts?  Hmmmmmmmmmm.

Had the greatest chicken noodle soup ever today.  What a great thing to have on an incredibly dreary day; a nice bowl of chicken noodle soup.  Quite fantastic to say the least.

Speaking of fantastic, Fantastic Mr. Fox is deserving of that name.  I’ve used this word to describe it already, but it was just brilliant.  Amazing animation, quite an interesting story and characters – oh, and funny!  Admittedly I’m somewhat biased toward the film, because I am furry.  Still, the movie was great and one of my favorites, definitely want to own it sometime.

There.  A whole bunch of random crap chucked into a heaping pile of failage blog.  It’s that awesome.

Bueno un juego mas de carritos, pero que tiene DIRT 2 que Forza 3, Need For Speed y muchos otros no tengan?

La respuesta se las daremos en este post donde la intención es informarles y asi ustedes tengan bases para rentarlo o comprarlo.

Dirt 2 es un juego desarrollado por CodeMaster el cual puede presumir que junto con Havok que es el software que muchos video juegos utilizan para SIMULAR la realidad de la gravedad y darle mayor realismo a las volcaduras o choques, Dirt 2 cuenta aparte de este Software especial de CodeMaster una gran cantidad de Experiencia con juegos de carreras y es aquí donde inicia el porque Dirt 2 te podría interesar.

Este juego cuenta con aproximadamente 15 pistas las cuales tendrán variaciones (son enormes) para los diferentes modelos de Autos en los cuales podrás cruzar la línea de META.

Pero no he mencionado lo mas importante que tiene este juego y es que aquí no se trata del clásico simulador de carreras tipo F1 o Gran Turismo, aquí es exclusivo para los amantes a la Tierra ya que el juego es tipo Rally que como ven en las imágenes y en el video tendrás tus diferentes retos ya sea en autos compactos o hasta camionetas todo terreno aquí los Rally tipo GT son los mas interesantes ya que obvio debes de ser el primero en hacer menor tiempo del punto A al punto B pero hay otros tipo de carreras donde debes hacer cierta cantidad de vueltas obvio dando los respectivos arrimones para avanzar.

Dirt 2 es para el Fan a morir del derrape que claro este también como opción en carreras mas rápidas y de mucha acción.

Dirt cuenta con una variedad amplia de autos pero no se emocionen ya que no son muchos pero están las clásicas marcas como Nissan y MitsuBichi y por supuesto muy bien diseñados.

Gráficamente hablando y espero el video ayude en algo este juego se hizo para ser disfrutado por los amantes de la velocidad y los paisajes ya que al ser un juego tipo Rally los ambientes con polvo, tierra, bosques, montañas etc,etc hacen que visualmente hablando se vea estupendo.

Sobre la durabilidad que este juego pueda darles con decirles que yo ya llevo fácil mas de 20 horas y aun no lo termino ya que son mas de 60 pruebas todas ellas alrededor del mundo como Japon, E.U.A. , China, Medio Oriente y todas ellas con sus respectivas carrera que son:

Mi calificación como buen Fan del genero es un 9, ya que tiene mucha calidad visual, buena música y los efectos de los menús y de los diferentes modos de juegos son muy originales. Y se pierde del mega 10 solo por que no cuenta con mas licencias para automóviles.

Now that Windows 7 has officially been launched, Direct X 11 games aren’t far behind. In fact there are already a few DX 11 compliant games available in the market today and the coming months will see many more. Today we’ll check out some of the more interesting upcoming DX11 games :

S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was all about immersion and whether you were roaming the Zone searching for loot in broad daylight or exploring some creepy old military base at night not knowing what lurked around the next corner, the feeling of dread was palpable. And now with the power of DX11 backing them developer GSC Gameworld can dial up the intensity to 11 to deliver an even more immersive experience for the sequel. The game’s already been released in Russia with the English version slated for a worldwide release this month.

Crysis 2

Not much is known about Crysis 2 at this point but if you’ve seen what the CryEngine 3 is capable of in some of the Tech demos floating around the net you know you’re in for one insanely good looking game. Since Crysis pushed the boundaries of PC gaming back in the day, I can only imagine the kind of hardware required to play this game in all its graphical glory.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2

The boys from B Company are back and this time they’re really gonna tear things down as DICE has promised even more destruction courtesy of a heavily modified Frostbite engine. While details regarding the single player are still scarce I am mighty impressed with the way the game’s online component’s turning out. PS3 owners will get a chance to sample the action via a beta that’ll be available by the end of this month while PC gamers sadly have to wait till December for a piece of the pie.

Lost Planet 2

Now this is pure speculation on my part since the game’s not even been “officially” announced for the PC but since Lost Planet came out for the PC a few months later, I’m guessing Capcom will dish out similar treatment to Lost Planet 2. And since Lost Planet was launched as a DX10 title, I think it’s fair to assume that Lost Planet 2 will ship with DX11 compatibility.

Alan Wake

Yes I know the PC version of the game is nowhere on the horizon but developer Remedy has always been faithful to PC gamers and I know (and seriously hope) that sometime in the future they will release this game on the PC. And when they do, you know it’s going to be DX11 all the way.

Aliens vs. Predator

When two iconic characters cross each other’s paths you know it’s gonna hit the fan. Throw in highly armed testosterone charged marines and you’re looking at some awesome three way action. The game’s being developed by Rebellion games, creators of the very first AVP game and will allow players to play as all three races through the course of the single and multiplayer campaign.

DIRT2

Dirt 2 released for the Xbox360 and the PS3 in September but the PC version was pushed back to December so that the game could take advantage of DX11 allowing Codemasters to present us with ‘the best-looking racing game that has ever existed.

Perilisan game racing Colin McRae: Dirt 2 versi PC memang agak terlambat dibandingkan dengan versi Xbox 360 dab PS3. yeah, the last title I worked on before I left Codemasters…DiRT 2.  the game’s awesome! visuals were stunning, the cars were beautiful. everything was perfect! I managed to work on a few cars for DiRT2…and some hi-res interiors which I forgot which. But I do remember that my favourite car that I worked on was the BMW Z4 MCoupe. Loved it! gonna try and grab a few screenies to put here, and hopefully if I do have the mesh photos of it, It would be nice too…

Coincidiendo con el lanzamiento de Windows 7, Codemasters ha desvelado nuevos datos y ha publicado los primeros vídeos de la versión PC de Colin McRae DiRT 2, que será el segundo o tercer juego en ser compatible con las nuevas librerías gráficas DirectX 11. El primero fue BattleForge y el segundo quizá sea Stalker: Call of Pripyat, aunque no sabemos si en España llegará antes que DiRT 2, del cual algunas fuentes hablan del 4 de diciembre y otras del 11.

En techPowerUp! podemos decargarnos dos vídeos en HD: Dirt 2 DirectX 11 Gameplay Trailer HD (66.3 MB) y Dirt 2 DirectX 11 TechDemo Trailer HD (98.8 MB). Ahí podréis ver, punto por punto, las principales diferencias entre la versión del juego corriendo en DirectX 9 o en las ya citadas DirectX 11.

También podemos acceder a los dos vídeos por streaming a 360p y 720p a través de HardGame 2.

Com as placas que suportam DirectX 11 brotando pelos cantos, seria legal ter uma demonstração prática e em movimento do mesmo.
Então… Não é que a ATI e a Codemasters atenderam ao pedido?!
Finalmente liberaram um videozinho maroto demonstrando alguma das firulas gráficas que estarão disponíveis no novo DiRT 2.

Então, vamos ao que interessa nesse video, mas antes, quero adicionar um pequeno “porém”. DiRT 2 não utiliza todas as funções do DX11. A própria Codemasters confirmou que a maioria das funções disponiveis no DiRT2 são as mais faceis de serem notadas, mas parte das novas funções foram deixadas de lado. Creio eu que para “amadurecerem” um pouco mais e serem utilizadas futuramente no GRID 2 que está previsto para o ano que vem.

O foco deste video é a utilização do “Hardware Tessellator” que proporciona uma ampla lista de possibilidades de aplicação, como vocês podem ver nas fotos abaixo.

Simulação de física em tecidos (bandeiras) dando mais detalhes as bandeiras.

Simulação da platéia com mais detalhes.

Contagem de polígonos mais elevada proporcionando mais detalhamento.

Simulação de física de fluidos - detalhe para as ondas no canto direito da imagem.

Tessellator também é utilizado para simular a água.

Efeitos de luz e "post-processing" também recebem um "boost" através do tessellator.

Detalhes para os reflexos no carro e para o efeito de "Depth-of-field" mais ao fundo.

Pois é… Video curto, mas revelador na minha opinião.
A unica coisa que me deixa realmente triste é ver a lista de jogos que vão sair utilizando DX11 e o fato de eu ainda não ter uma HD5870 ainda.
Pra que não sabe quais jogos já estão quase prontos para serem lançados e vão utilizar DX11, aqui vai alguns:

A Codemasters anunciou que a versão PC de Colin McRae: DiRT 2 chega no dia 4 de Dezembro de 2009.

A produtora referiu que o jogo foi adiado para suportar a nova arquitetura da tecnologia DirectX 11. Segundo a mesma, “Tirando partido das funcionalidades do DirectX 11 incluídas no Windows 7, a inclusão de hardware tessellation, multi-threading e Shader Model 5.0, vão proporcionar uma experiência off-road mais imersiva e realista até à data e ser a referência técnica no género.”

Será que valeu mesmo a pena a espera?

A rant of mine, originally inspired by Dirt 2’s recent DLC releases, however, whilst the idea was there, it turned into a little bit based around Dirt 2!

With so many games coming out each month, its hard for developers to ensure that thier bestselling game stays in your disk tray, and it can be hard to do so, so after launch, what is the best way to keep us glued to these games? Downloadable Content.

Downloadable Content or (DLC) is the best way to update and add content and features to our games; it brings new life to your old games, more possibilities and sometimes more choices in gameplay. But is any of it really worth it?

Some games feature a great array of DLC waiting for you after your purchase of the game, an example would be Fallout 3, with 5 giant content additions, each is well thought out, and a great way to add onto your game, to not only improve its lifetime, but also your opinion on the game

However some batches of DLC just don’t quite fit the line-up of stellar additions to my games, one, which is mainly built the inspiration for this article, would be the very newly released ‘Access All Areas’ pack for Codemasters Dirt 2.

For those unfamiliar, Dirt 2 is a fantastic racing game, both online and offline, with a massive single player experience and again more fun to take to the online side of it, there’s plenty to do, but the only way to expand on that and keep things going, is more content.

Access All Areas and Trust Fund DLC, is a ‘key to the city’ so to speak of the game itself. When purchased you unlock everything the game had to offer you from playing it normally, that’s right, so the 40+ hours of gameplay you COULD have got and been rewarded for actually getting your £40 pounds worth of enjoyment from the game is now taken away by adding an tenner on it.

My disappointment behind this dlc is mainly because of a fear Codies may fall down EA’s way of thinking, again if you’re unfamiliar. EA’s Need For Speed Franchise, from Carbon to Undercover, the option on the day of launch was there on the Marketplace, allowing you to unlock the entire games content or even upgrade and get the Collectors edition stuff for just a little bit more money, money which could be saved buy just playing the damn thing.

Anyway, along with that, i fear Dirt 2 will suffer that of its racing compadre GRID, which, was also a fantastic game, but lacked longetivity because of the DLC. Dlc for GRID was a mere car pack, which is great for fans of those cars, but once you’ve finished the game anyway when the DLC was released, there was little to no real enticement to use any cars, let alone the new ones.

Ideally, Dirt 2 could be expanded in many ways, more single player races/tracks/tournaments/world tours which would add more to the actual lifetime of the game, as well as more achievements, unlockable features (cars/liveries/dash and accessories) and even the bumping up the mission’s to earn more XP for your Player rank. Whilst I’m hoping Codemasters will have more in store (preferably something along what i suggested, maybe all!) What HAS been just released on the Marketplace/Network is very disappointing, after all, you wouldn’t pay for a book just to pay an extra fiver to be told how it ends, would you?

Either way, without making this to based around Dirt 2, a lot of DLC a year or two back were quite large and definitely game content worth adding, Crackdowns both Free and Paid DLC was a brilliant piece, yet with a more recent DLC pack being L4D’s additional campaign for 540MS points only to have a 2 piece campaign level, seems to leave a few gamers with less than what they admittedly paid for, not to mention the Resident Evil 5 Versus hoo haa, not long after RE5’s launch, we remain skeptical on whether Resident Evil 5 will redeem itself with its new announcement of more DLC.

But what it boils down to is whether some DLC is really worth it? Some add more guns, some add more race tracks or cars, but wouldn’t you rather something that really ADDS to the game, not just stick ons that have no real affect?

In tutto sbloccherete 41 tracciati , 100 eventi del gioco , 25 veicoli per il Tour Mondiale , 10 veicoli segreti e 93 livree.

After getting hold of the full PS3 version of Dirt 2 (reviewed here) playing through the PSP version, sadly, doesn’t hold much allure.

Graphically the game isn’t too bad for a PSP title but pales in comparison to something like Gran Turismo PSP. The backgrounds and tracks are well done though and you get a varied mix of locations to keep things interesting.

The game is made up of challenge modes and a World Tour, similar to the full mode in the PS3 version just on a smaller scale and without the personality.

You have the chance the customise your vehicle but not as often as I’d have liked. Sadly almost all the vehicles use the same whiny engine noise, which is a shame.

Having no damage and no real penalty for hitting anything means that you can bash and smash your way through races willy nilly.

My main problem with the PSP version is that it’s a little too easy. The AI drives like a maniac for 20/30 seconds then stops to a near crawl for 20/30 seconds. It doesn’t seem to matter whether you’re behind them or in front of them.

It means you can never rest on your laurels but it also means that you can be miles out in front and have the others catch you up without making any errors. Just seems a little unfair.

But as I said even with this happening the need to retry races was few and far between. Which leaves the World Tour mode as almost a series of single races tied together for no reason.

Why not have you level up like in the PS3 version? At least to just have something to work towards and keep you playing.

Overall then a playable driving game but one that leaves you longing for a cohesive single player mode.

Last week was like hell for me. I was hoping for some attention from my friends or from anyone who really do care. Then got bored and look for something to put my attention to. And I ended up looking at my Wishlist page, and decided to buy something from the list. Since I got some spare money that I saved just in case my so called friends would like me to treat them for a dinner or something, but oh well, I  guess they’re just too busy or not that really interested. So last Friday Oct 9, 09, I decided to buy the racing wheel for my PS3/PC well, its compatible to the PS3 and PC. It is the new Logitech G27 Racing Wheel. It cost me 13,000 PHP or about 280$, which has a MSRP of 300$. You can view the features and specification at Logitech’s webiste here: Logitech G27. and here are the unboxing pics after the jump.

The steering wheel has a good feel, it has a real leather on it, it also has a paddle shifting and. I think it is quiet and smooth while you turn the wheel. The shifter is also good. nothing much new since the G25 they just remove the squential part of the shifter. and about the pedals, hmmm it is heavy. well but that is a good thing. and it also feels like the real thing. you need to apply more force though to the break and clutch than of the accelerator.

I tested it on the Ps3 with the game DiRT 2 and it works perfectly except for the rev lights at the steering wheel. You just need to really get used to it at first and a couple of tweaking on the options and you’re good to go. You can easily make the car drift at the game using this racing wheel. I also tested on the NFS Shift for the PS3 and it also worked like on the DiRT 2, but you don’t need tweaking at the options. it is much easier to drive cars at NFS Shift than DiRT 2.

this is not really a review. this is just the things i noticed and what i think about the G27 racing wheel. and there are also lots of reviews out there about this racing wheel.

I think it is time for a DiRT 2 review.  About two days I finished all the races in the “story” mode.  Every one of them was a blast.  This game is much better than the first one and the first one was awesome.  They improved on every thing.  It looks better, there is more to do, more options and the online is a 1000 times better.  This is my new favourite racing game.  The plan now is to buy every car and upgrade just  like the first game.

You can’t go wrong buy this game.  This is one of the best rally/offroad races ever.  So much better than the first game.

5 out of 5 GT (GT = Good Times)

As someone who thoroughly enjoyed Race Driver: Grid and the original Dirt game, I was looking forward to Dirt 2, which seems to be a mix of the two game styles.

Dirt was always the slightly more serious, rally based racer, while Grid was all about high speed, fun races.

The mix certainly works here as Codemasters prove themselves to be the current kings of the driving genre.

I wasn’t sure whether they could improve on the graphics from Grid but they certainly have and both the cars and the tracks are superbly rendered, giving a real sense of speed as you hurtle down the track.

Thankfully the rewind function from Grid returns and is a real lifesaver. The crashes are spectacular but losing a race through one bad decision would be as annoying as hell so I’m glad they brought this back.

The main game is called Tour mode and sees you entering various different race disciplines in lots of different locations. Everything you could want is all under one roof, with Rally, Rallycross, Raid and several other race types included.

You can even impress, and eventually ‘buddy’, the real life racers like Ken Block.

The levelling system adds depth and you get plenty of unlockables. The game certainly seems to have as deep a main mode as Grid, which is great.

Codemasters have done a great job on the sound front with all the cars sounding different, which is great.

On the music front it seems a little indulgent to comment on something I worked on but the tracklisting is varied and has some real gems on it. The best thing I can say about it is that lots of people (both journalists and gamers themselves) have complimented the soundtrack so it must be doing something right

Online the game is as sharp as the single player and it’s fairly quick to get a match set up. The ability to race over up to five rounds, with points dished out per race and totted up as you go along, is a godsend and really helps to build some tension online.

Overall Dirt 2 had a lot of expectation from me to live up to, especially after the excellent Grid. Thankfully it lives up to the hype and has proven itself to be my driving game of choice, for both single and multiplayer action.

Da er vi klare til å presentere to nye spill. «Mini Ninjas» er kjøpt inn til Playstation 3 og er et morsomt og temmelig karikert ninjaspill.  Du spiller som helten Hiro, den siste ninjaen som kan redde verden (hørt den før?). Rid gjennom et eventyrlandskap, kjemp mot slemminger og bruk alt du kan om ninjateknikk for å bekjempe fienden en gang for alle!
