This album, released in the UK in May 2008, is a collection of electronic dance music, different to what many would expect from Moby.

Even though a lot more uptempo from what music fans are used to from this artist I would still describe this as a ‘chill out’ album.

A number of guest vocalists are featured on ‘Last Night’ including Wendy Starland and Grandmaster Caz. I found all of the tracks to be really catchy but some became too repetitive as they went on.

From listening to this album I could definitely see Moby’s influence from New York, where the clubs there inspired him to write it and where it was recorded.

My favourite track is track 9, ‘Disco Lies’, which is a catchy dance song that you can’t help but sing a long to.

The first half of the album is quite upbeat where as the second half is a lot more relaxed. Some tracks such as ’Sweetest’, ‘Land Of”, and ‘Mothers of the Night’ contain no vocals and are perfect for chilling out.

It’s thursday night but it feels like a saturday. I feel like getting absolutely trashed and shitfaced but fuck it. I’ll stay home and study for my exams tomorrow and just for coming to my blaaag i’ll give you these two tracks, just for kicks. 

They will make you want to get down and dirty and lose whatever shit you have and then you will want to kick it in the dirt.

Hydra (Koen Groenveld Remix) starts off slow but when it winds up it cuts loose with brute force.

Disco Lies (Dusty Kid Remix) is just an all around great song, once it kicks in it’s the most catchiest shit ever.

Re-discovered Disco Lies by Moby from his latest album Last Night.  I really like it.  Very catchy.  There are some good remix out there too.  Found one on Vimeo called Disco Lies (Freemasons Remix).  More remix’s can be found here on youtube.

Finally, categorically stepping out of the shadow of 1999’s wildly successful ‘Play’, ‘Last Night’ finds Moby eschewing the gospel-sampling, crossover work of recent years in favor of a return to his clubland roots. On the other hand, anyone who jumped on board during Moby’s popular resurgence a few years back will likely find it to be jarring, forgettable stuff. Nevertheless, kudos to the man for realizing that trying to please everybody isn’t the way to go.

Moby está de volta com o seu sexto álbum. Inteiramente gravado no seu próprio estúdio, o álbum contém 15 temas misturados por Dan Grech-Maguerat que trabalhou recentemente com Radiohead e Scissor Sisters.

O álbum conta ainda com participações de MC Grandmaster Caz, Sylvia (Kudu), Mc Aynzli, Smokey e S.O. Simple do grupo nigeriano de Hip Hop, 419.

Um trabalho muito orientado para as sonoridades da dança electrónica e que decerto vai ocupar lugar de destaque nas pistas de dança e clubes de todo o Mundo.

Bueno pues aquí otra canción del día, hoy toca Moby, yo creo que por todos conocidos. La ví esta mañana en la MTV y dije…. que carajo hoy toca actualizar Musikitar. La verdad es que el video esta curradísimo, encima de ser buena canción me he echado buenas risas viéndolo. Bueno sin más dilación una breve reseña sacada de wikipedia o last.fm (para no perder costumbre) y el video.

Moby (nacido el 11 de septiembre de 1965 en Harlem, Nueva York) es un compositor pop de música electrónica estadounidense. Su verdadero nombre es Richard Melville Hall. Tomó su nombre artístico de su conocido antepasado, Herman Melville, autor de Moby Dick.

Después de colocar 8 de sus sencillos en el UK Top 40 en los años 90 haciendo música techno, su mayor éxito fue Play lanzado en 1999, del cual vendió 10 millones de copias en todo el mundo.

Ha tenido conflictos dialécticos con los cantantes Marilyn Manson y Eminem.

Disco Lies es el segundo single del nuevo disco de Moby, Last Night. La épica de un pollo en plan vengador a lo Tarantino (o La Caja Vengadora), ese ritmo tan de Moby (con todo eso que le pone atrás), la negra que canta (se llama Shayna Steele), para mí son más que suficientes para decir que es un temazo. Es también soudtrack de la peli Cloverfield. Se me hace que a los DJs se frotan las manos cuando sale un tema así.
