Welcome to my blog! My blog will be consisting of outfits that I find for $50 or less. I want to dispel the myth of fashion as expensive and since I’m a broke college student I’ve learned a few tips to stretch your money on an outfit. This week there will not be an outfit but rather I will give you some basics that will worked into any outfit and for any situation: black leggings/jeans, a blazer, a scarf and black boots. These four pieces are essentials in a girl’s closet and can be worn in many ways. By owning these you are already creating fashion on a budget because of the versatility you can get out of the items.

Another tip is to dress in what works for you. Legendary French fashion designer Coco Chanel once said ”The best color in the whole world, is the one that looks good, on you!” So wear what works for your body type, your style and your coloring; you don’t just let mainstream fashion dictate your closet. Experiment with classic fashion staples, like a blazer or classic pair of Levi jeans, these pieces never go out of style and come in many styles making it easy to find pieces that work for all body types.

The most important advice I’ve ever gotten in my life was from my Grandpa who always says “It’s about the clothes, it’s about what you put in them.” If you’re confident with yourself then you can make any outfit a success.

Start with the basics, dress for your type and style and have confidence. By doing that you can take any outfit from average to a hit!

I am really excited about this site. They have great brands: Romeo & Juliet Couture, Hot Kiss, Chinese Laundry, XOXO, and Kenneth Cole (among others) Think of this as your online Filene’s Basement!
