I made this into a full post, because I very firmly feel that whenever accusations of this kind come up, they must be addressed and set where they belong. A poster from the forum, found my blog posting, and left a comment. Now maybe the poster left it for good, as useful feedback, or maybe it’s just another informant, who is trying to make Gang Stalking sites look like they encourage delusions. As I have said before in dealing with now hundreds if not thousands of people who have come through the site, the long term feedback has been that they feel validated, most knew that something was happening, but did not know what. Some considered crazy as an option, but crazy did not match what they were seeing and most are people who kept looking for other answers to what was happening to them.

I don’t know what the situation was like in Russia when the state started saying that dissidents were crazy. I imagine that many tried to prove that they were not, and tried to also expose what was happening. I do know that in Russia part of what got the abuses exposed were target telling their stories, till there were enough that people started listening. I believe that targets must do similar if they are going to be heard and expose what our governments are now doing.

Gangstalking, stop spamming with your links. You seem to be here on a propaganda mission. We don’t allow those kinds of accounts.

Spamming, I was not, at least not intentionally and the links could have been removed. I was posting researched information, not a propaganda mission.

Just because she has been diagnosed as crazy, does not mean that she is. Gloria Naylor a famous target was diagnosed as crazy and is not.

Without knowing more about her case, it’s impossible to know if she really is crazy, or a target or both. The targeting can make you crazy. Just look at what happened in Russia. Targets of the state were consistently diagnosed as crazy.

In America today, the psychiatric reprisal is being used on more and more people who are not crazy.

Good sources of info about people who the state tried to put away as being crazy. It does happen.

Most people choose to believe that someone who talks about being followed around are crazy first and then they ask questions. I do the opposite, I choose to believe that people are sane first and then I ask the questions.

If posting articles about, Cointelpro, The Stasi, and our current surveillance society is going to encourage people to go crazy, or encourage paranoid delusions, then it’s unfortunate, because it’s reality. We live in a surveillance society. Innocent people are being stalked and monitored.

As evidence was presented, questions were asked. She said she knew who the anti-christ was and that she could speak to the dead. Lot’s of people think that, without necessarily being crazy. I did ask her why she felt that way in both cases.

The only thing that I did further was share with her information that myself and others have discovered about the multi generational aspect of Gang Stalking, which is also a fact.

I deeply feel sorry, and concerned about people who think that having good solid information will make people fall further into delusions. God forbid she go to sites about surveillance operations, or read books on such, or watch a tv show on such. God forbid, because I guess that those would be guilty of feeding her delusions as well.

This came up last year interestingly enough. God forbid people read the bible and it fuel their delusions of an omnipotent being that controls the world who they can’t see, but who they believe others have talked to. God further forbid such people to to Churches, Mosques, Synagogue and find others who further their delusions.

Providing a person with credible information about a problem that is happening to others is just that, it’s information that is available in books, on T.V., Youtube, and in other places. This information about Cointelpro, Mobbing, The Stasi, and other forms of harassment were available for years, as long as crazy people have thought that they were being stalked, which in cases like John Lennon turned out not to be paranoia.

The girl might be a real target, that possibility exists. She might also be crazy, that possibility exists. She might also be an agent who specifically is trying to link crazy and Gang Stalking. We had so much of that on Youtube, and on forums. There are agents of the state on most forums. This is a fact. Let me know if you need articles.

You could be here trying to be helpful, but you could also be here trying to link Gang Stalking with enhancing and encouraging the delusions of others. Eg. It’s not the first time this has happened, but as pointed out, these websites do not encourage delusions, anymore than watching tv shows, reading books, or visiting other sites on topic such as Cointelpro, or Stasi website.

If you are here with good intention’s then I thank you, but based on the original posting, and a discussion I had with the webmaster of the forum, that is not why I was banned. If your intentions are to try to link Gang Stalking sites with encouraging the delusions of the crazy, then we have been there done that, and you failed then a well.

Read the links that I posted. People are being set up to be declared as crazy, by our democratic countries. This is sick and wrong like it was in Russia. Because someone is declared crazy does not mean that they are. The girl was being teased and bullied. Crazy or sane that was not right and I stepped in because that is the human thing to do, and I will never regret doing the right and just human thing, in trying to stop her from being picked on. I told her that my first instinct is to believe her and you don’t know how needful that is, but then of course as I get to know her, I would look at the facts in her case and give feedback accordingly.

Even with real targets if I feel that they can not handle their targeting, I will always recommend they seek a support circle. Now I ask you what is being being believed and listened to, or being picked on and put down. She told her story, As I told the girl, I don’t know her and can not judge her crazy. I would rather take her word till more of her case is presented. Wither that is that she turns out to be yet another informant, crazy, target, or something else.

Autant le dire d’entrée de jeu, je préférerais de loin un monde sans armes à feu avec des humains assez évolués qui ont appris à vivre ensemble en paix. Mais il semble que l’humanité ne soit pas encore parvenue à ce niveau de conscience et à cette réalité. Nous pourrions faire en sorte d’éliminer toutes les armes à feu du monde, mais vous comprendrez que cela relève plus de l’utopie que de la réalité. Par contre, il serait beaucoup plus facile d’armer la population en général.

Ceci étant dit, j’aimerais soulever la question des armes à feu, de leur accessibilité, de leur contrôle, voir même leur interdiction, par le gouvernement. Il se trouve que j’ai longtemps pensé que les armes à feu étaient principalement utilisées dans les conflits armés et les guerres, pour la chasse et le tir, ainsi que pour l’autodéfense. L’image négative des armes est probablement causé par les images qui nous parviennent des guerres, mais plus certainement aussi des meurtres, crimes et tueries perpétrés à l’aide d’armes à feu, et avec raison. Pourtant, la plus grande cause de mort non naturelle du 20e siècle est les gouvernements. Ceci est malheureusement un fait historique.

Chaque fois que nous sommes témoins d’une tuerie dans une école ou ailleurs, commise par un dérangé armé d’un fusil, on se demande tout de suite pourquoi les armes à feu ne sont pas tout simplement bannies, interdites pour tous. Ce débat est particulièrement sensible aux États-Unis, alors que le droit à la possession et au port d’armes à feu arrive tout juste second en priorité, après la reconnaissance des droits et libertés qui constituent le premier Amendement de la Constitution des États-Unis d’Amérique.

C’est que depuis un certain temps, dans ce pays, on discute de retirer et interdire certaines ou toutes armes à feu. Certains états imposent déjà cette interdiction et proclament des « zone sans armes à feu ». Et depuis l’arrivée au pouvoir de Barack Obama, on parle davantage de bannir certaines armes à feu et les interdire à certains segments de la population, en pleine continuité de l’administration Bush. On discute aussi d’imposer de nouvelles mesures demandant de graver un numéro de série sur chaque balle produite aux États-Unis. Cela augmentera le prix des munitions et imposera un contrôle fédéral des armes à feu de façon indirecte, c’est-à-dire qu’au lieu de bannir directement les armes à feu, on va contrôler les munitions et restreindre leur accessibilité.

Ceci est un débat sensible pour les Américains qui eux, continuent de réagir en achetant des niveaux records d’armes à feu et de munitions depuis plus d’un an. Cela serait dû à la crainte que l’administration Obama commence à exiger l’enregistrement des armes à feu pour ensuite éventuellement les interdire et les retirer de la population; en plus d’être reliée à la dégradation de l’économie et de la condition générale de la population qui s’appauvrit rapidement. Des troubles civils sont à prévoir dans ce pays, ou du moins, plusieurs les appréhendent.

D’une part, on peut se demander si une prohibition ou l’enregistrement des armes à feu est souhaitable. Il faudrait voir historiquement ce qui s’est passé dans les pays qui ont pratiqué ou pratique encore une telle approche. Est-ce que le crime a diminué lorsqu’on a interdit les armes à feu? Il serait peut-être nécessaire de faire une réflexion sur la valeur d’une telle approche. Prenons par exemple un meurtre commis à l’aide d’un couteau ou d’un bat de baseball. Penserions-nous à bannir tous les couteaux et les bats de baseball dans la population? La voiture tue des dizaines de milliers de personnes à chaque année. Allons-nous interdire l’utilisation de la voiture? Si une arme à feu est utilisée pour commettre un crime, devons tous les interdire à la population?

Pour répondre à ces questions, rien de mieux que d’aller consulter quelques faits historiques, des études et des statistiques gouvernementales.

Or, il se trouve que le Second Amendement de la Constitution des États-Unis n’est pas relié à la chasse ou au tir sportif. La phrase « Security of a free state » indique clairement ce que les pères fondateurs avaient en tête. Les armes dont il est question dans la Constitution sont de nature militaire et il est question de la nécessité qu’elles soient d’égale puissance et efficacité que celles qui pourraient éventuellement être utilisées par un envahisseur; que ce dernier soit une nation étrangère ou un gouvernement central abusif. Il était excessivement clair pour les fondateurs des États-Unis que le besoin de se défendre ne provenait pas tant de son voisin que d’un gouvernement tyrannique:

“The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.” (Thomas Jefferson Papers p. 334, 1950)

James Madison a déclaré: « Pour préserver la liberté, il est essentiel que toute la population entière possède des armes en tout temps ».

Thomas Jefferson disait « qu’aucun homme libre ne devrait être désarmé », que « les lois qui interdisent le port d’arme…désarment seulement ceux qui ne sont pas enclins ni déterminés à commettre des crimes… De telles lois rendent les choses pires pour ceux qui sont assaillis et meilleurs pour les assaillants; elles servent plutôt à encourager les homicides que de les prévenir, parce qu’un homme désarmé peut être attaqué avec une plus grande certitude qu’un homme armé ».

Les chiffres parlent d’eux-mêmes. Là où les gens ont des armes à feu, les taux de criminalité sont bas. Là où ils sont interdits, le crime est endémique.

La Grande-Bretagne a adopté une interdiction totale des armes à feu au nom de la sécurité publique. La criminalité a augmentée, incluant les invasions de domiciles et les attaques sur les personnes âgées. Chaque année aux États-Unis, les propriétaires d’armes à feu préviennent des millions de crimes. La police ne prévient aucun crime. Ils arrivent toujours après que le crime soit commis, ont l’air officiel, nettoient les dégâts, encaissent leurs chèques de paye et retournent à la maison. Avec un policier par environ 2000 habitants, difficile de leur en vouloir. Il est simplement impossible d’arriver à prévenir autant de crimes potentiels.

En Australie, il y a plus d’un an que les autorités ont forcé les Australiens propriétaires d’armes à feu à s’en départir à l’aide d’une nouvelle loi. 640 381 armes à feu personnelles ont été ainsi détruites par leur gouvernement, un programme qui a couté plus de $500 millions de dollars aux Australiens. Les premiers résultats sont disponibles:

Sur tout le territoire australien, les homicides sont à la hausse de 3,2%, les assauts ont augmenté de 8,6% et les vols à main armée ont explosé d’un spectaculaire 44%. Dans l’état de Victoria seulement les homicides avec armes à feu ont augmenté de 300%. Il est à noter que les citoyens qui respectent la loi ont dû abandonner leurs armes, alors que les criminels les possèdent toujours. Ceci est exactement le problème avec ces types de loi. Le peuple se retrouve désarmé alors que les criminels conservent leurs armes, tout comme les autorités. Alors que les statistiques australiennes montraient une baisse continue depuis 25 ans des vols à main armée, cela a drastiquement changé à la hausse depuis les douze derniers mois, puisque les criminels savent maintenant avec garantie que leur proie est désarmée.

Nous savons que le programme d’enregistrement des armes à feu du Canada a été une véritable catastrophe qui a coûté une fortune.

Jetons un coup d’œil à l’Histoire du contrôle des armes à feu:

- En 1929, l’Union Soviétique a établie un contrôle des armes à feu. De 1929 à 1953, environ 20 millions de dissidents, incapables de se défendre par eux-mêmes, ont été mis en état d’arrestation et exterminés.

- En 1911, la Turquie met en place sa loi pour contrôler les armes à feu. De 1915 à 1917, c’est 1,5 million d’Arméniens, incapables de se défendre, qui seront interceptés et exterminés.

- L’Allemagne imposera un contrôle des armes à feu en 1938 de 1939 à 1945, des millions, incapables de se défendre seront enlevés et exterminés.

- La Chine en fera autant en 1935 et de 1948 à 1952, 20 millions de dissidents politiques incapables de se défendre seront arrêtés et exterminés.

Le Guatemala a établi un contrôle des armes à feu en 1964. De 1964 à 1981, 100 000 indiens subiront le même sort.

- En Ouganda, établira une politique identique en 1970. De 1971 à 1079, 300 000 chrétiens, incapables de se défendre, seront enlevés et exterminés.

- Au Cambodge, un contrôle des armes à feu fut imposé dès 1956. De 1975 à 1977, un million de personnes « éduquées » incapables de se défendre, seront exterminées. Le tiers de la population cambodgienne.

Le nombre de personnes qui furent interceptées et exterminées durant le 20^e siècle à cause des lois sur le contrôle des armes à feu s’élève à environ 56 millions. (Source)

Ce fut la même chose avec des tyrans comme Staline, Hitler et Mao qui ont tous cherché à désarmer leurs citoyens pour mieux les contrôler et assurer leur propre pouvoir. Plusieurs victimes de génocides n’ont pas pu se défendre adéquatement avec les moyens nécessaires pour se défendre eux-mêmes.

Heinrich Himmler; Reichsfuhrer-SS, a déclaré un jour que: « les Allemands qui souhaitent utiliser des armes à feu devraient joindre les SS ou les SA – les citoyens ordinaires n’ont pas besoin de fusils, puisque leur possession de ceux-ci ne sert pas l’État ».

D’un autre côté, il y a la Suisse où les hommes de 20 à 42 ans sont requis par la loi de posséder une arme à feu. Les Suisses n’ont quasiment pas de meurtres et un taux très bas de criminalité.

Selon une étude de l’Académie nationale des sciences et du Département de la Justice américaine, le contrôle des armes à feu de réduit pas le crime, ni la violence et ne trouve aucun bénéfice à en restreindre la possession.

On craignait au Michigan que les choses se dégradent après avoir rendu plus facile d’obtenir une licence de port d’armes il y a six ans. Les habitants de cet état américain ont augmenté le nombre de licences octroyées de six fois, mais les sombres prédictions d’augmentation de la violence et d’effusion de sang ne se sont jamais vraiment matérialisées, selon les forces policières et les statistiques des crimes. Ces incidents sont plutôt à la baisse depuis ce temps.

Une facette de cela que les médias vont toujours ignorer est la pratique d’autodéfense. Par exemple, la plupart du monde ignore que les citoyens américains utilisent une arme à feu, sans nécessairement tirer un projectile, plus de 2,4 millions de fois par année, soit environ 6 500 fois par jour. Cela signifie que chaque année, les armes à feu sont utilisées soixante fois plus souvent pour se protéger de la part d’honnêtes citoyens que pour enlever la vie à quelqu’un. De ce chiffre, 192 000 sont des femmes qui se défendent d’un assaut sexuel. Seulement que 8% des 2,4 millions d’utilisations d’armes à feu résultent en un coup tiré, alors que dans 92% des cas, la seule présence d’une arme à feu suffit à arrêter le crime et repousser les assaillants.

Un autre fait ignoré par les médias est le lien entre les tueries et les zones sans armes à feu, comme dans le cas du massacre en Virginie, ainsi que la fréquence avec laquelle ont retrouve ces dangereux tueurs sur des médicaments comme des antidépresseurs. (Source: 1, 2, 3)

Il n’est pas difficile de démoniser les fusils, ils sont dangereux et peuvent causer de graves dommages. Il serait mieux de vivre dans un monde où ils n’existent pas. Mais ce n’est pas le cas. La Constitution des États-Unis donne donc aux Américains le droit de porter des armes pour que n’importe qui aurait l’idée d’imposer une tyrannie ferait mieux d’y penser deux fois.

Le peuple américain est le plus armé de l’Histoire et il y a une bien réelle peur dans les cercles de contre intelligence US, incluant le FBI et le DHS que les misères causées par la situation économique dégénèrent en résistance publique massive. C’est pourquoi le projet de loi H.R. 2159, the Denying Firearms and Explosives to Dangerous Terrorists Act of 2009 est né.

Obama a déjà sorti sa liste d’armes à interdire. Rahm Emanuel a déclaré que si quelqu’un était sur la « no-fly list », la liste d’interdiction de vol, sur laquelle on peut atterrir seulement pour être « soupçonné » d’être un potentiel terroriste ou d’y être relié d’une façon ou d’une autre par le gouvernement, il ne sera pas permis de posséder des armes à feu:

“If you are on that no-fly list, your acces to the right to bear arm is canceled, because you’re not part of the American family. You don’t deserve that right, there is no right for you if you are on that terrorist list.” - Rahm Emanuel (Source)

Le problème est que plus d’un million de personnes se retrouvent sur cette liste! N’importe qui se retrouvent sur cette liste, même des enfants. Nous savons tous que la majorité des gens qui se retrouvent sur ces listes le sont par erreur, et avec la définition du terrorisme qui ne cesse de s’élargir pour inclure jusqu’à des dissidents politiques, à peu près n’importe qui peut s’y retrouver sans avoir fait quoi que ce soit d’illégal. Encore une fois, il faut revoir les chartes qui montrent la relation entre le contrôle des armes à feu et les génocides. Tous les génocides du 20^e et 21^e siècle ont commencé avec une interdiction des armes à feu pour la population ciblée.

Lors du dernier siècle, les gouvernements ont tué quatre fois plus de civils que ce qui fut tué dans tous les conflits internationaux et nationaux combinés. Les gouvernements ont tué plus de gens que les criminels communs ont pu le faire. Comment cela est-il possible? Les gouvernements avaient le pouvoir, et le peuple, les victimes, n’étaient pas en mesure de résister. Les victimes étaient désarmées. La formule est la suivante: la haine, combinée à un gouvernement hors de contrôle et des civils désarmés = génocide. Une population désarmée est une population esclave. Lorsque le peuple a peur du gouvernement, il y a tyrannie; lorsque le gouvernement a peur du peuple, il y a liberté.

Il semble donc qu’on puisse dire que lorsque la population laisse au gouvernement le soin et pouvoir de contrôler les armes à feu, elle se tire une balle dans le pied…

Iran’s leadership seems frozen in time. Its rulers are still blaming the United States for their country’s many woes. But today, most Iranians no longer believe them. That’s why it’s tragic that the country’s brave reformers feel utterly abandoned by President Obama.

Have you seen this craziness? For those who’ve never heard of DigZine: it’s a “hacker” zine similar to Phrack. This is what puzzles me. Phrack.org hasn’t been closed down. So why DigZine?

This ought to be a freedom of speech/free press issue. 2600 Hacker Quarterly has survived as long as it has largely because it’s a printed magazine – the printed press is afforded protection by the Constitution. But the US authorities are comfortable about persecuting webzines. It’s clear to me that this is wrong. There’s no real difference between a regular, printed-on-paper magazine and a webzine. So they should both be protected from over-zealous cops. Unfortunately, that isn’t how the world works. And if a website is on servers located in the USA, that website has virtually no protection from the evil morons in power.

Incidentally, if you scroll down to the bottom of that web page, you’ll see your ip address and some rubbish about how the Dept Homeland Security will log your ip and investigate you. Then, at the end it says:

Be aware that disguising or concealing IP information shall be considered a criminal violation of section 814 of the USA PATRIOT Act. Should you suspect that your IP address and host have been improperly recorded, contact a DHS representative immediately.

This is a blatant violation of the right to privacy. Using an anonymous proxy or some other anonymiser to protect your privacy is illegal? The US government has got right into the role of Big Brother. You don’t need a tin foil hat to realiize this.

But what tips this over into absurdity is the fact that any idiot with a web browser can view Digizine.com and its archive of seditious literature. All you need to do is go to the Wayback Machine. This is an archive of the internet: snapshots of what the internet used to look like. You go to the Wayback page and type in the URL of the site you’re interested in – say, Digizine.com – then click the button marked “Take Me Back!” This brings you to a list of dates when snapshots of the site in question were taken. In the case of Digizine.com, you can see that snapshots were taken most recently in 2007. So, you choose a date from the list and click it. In this case 8 Jan 2007. And this takes you to an archived copy of the website on that date.

So, we can visit this evil site despite the DHS’s best efforts to censor it. We can view the archive of the DigiZine e-zine and read all that treacherous content that the US govt wants to protect us from! (There’s a link to the magazine archive here.)

But if you take the time to view the e-zine, you’re gonna wonder why in hell the DHS wants to block this site! The last issue was released in 2006. And the content is, on the whole, a lot tamer than what you can find elsewhere. This censorship makes no sense. Then again, when do any of the DHS’s actions make any sense?

Thing is, the content of Digizine.com is irrelevant. The point is, just about any website that the DHS want to “protect” us from can be accessed via the Wayback Machine. The US govt wants to keep us ignorant? No sweat, information always finds a way out of bondage. The internet is based on the idea that information wants to be free. And archive.org is a shining example of that freedom!

Ottawa author Denise Chong tried to look inconspicuous as she stood at the pre-arranged rendezvous point on a busy street in the Chinese city of Liuyang.

Before arriving, Chong had used a map to memorize the layout of the city and the locations of her clandestine destinations. She did not want to arouse suspicion or provoke queries from helpful strangers by looking lost or in search of something forbidden to foreigners.

Chong is of Chinese ancestry, lived in Beijing for a few years and has travelled to the country frequently, so she has learned how to blend in as much as possible. In her younger days, her glamorous, western-style hairdo and clothes would have instantly betrayed her as a foreigner gliding through a sea of dull Mao suits and stern haircuts.

These days, Chong jokes, she runs the risk of being the dowdy one, the only woman in China, it seems, without a dyed orange streak in her hair.

Amid the traffic of Liuyang, Chong pulled out a faded pink baseball cap and put it on her head. That was the signal. A stranger approached. The two walked towards the Liuyang River. The secrets of Liuyang were about to be revealed.

Those secrets can be found in the newly published book, Egg on Mao: The Story of An Ordinary Man Who Defaced An Icon And Unmasked A Dictatorship. This is Chong’s astounding story of Lu Decheng, a young bus mechanic from Liuyang imprisoned for nine years after he and two friends threw 30 paint-filled eggs on the giant portrait of Mao Tse-tung (often spelled Zedong) permanently displayed in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square.

The incident happened just after 2 p.m. on May 23, 1989, amid the pro-democracy student protests that ended so brutally when tanks bulldozed their way into the crowds, killing hundreds, if not thousands.

Chong’s book opens with the egg-throwing. The three men are quickly betrayed by the student demonstrators, turned over to the police and sentenced to long years in prison.

Interspersed with these events are alternating chapters on Decheng’s childhood and youth, showing how he came to despise Mao and the communist regime.

This was a regime that disciplined Decheng, while a young schoolboy, for failing to cry at a memorial for Mao, shortly after the death of the communist leader. (This transgression came back to haunt Decheng, the adult, when the authorities were investigating his egg-throwing.)

This was also a regime that tried to prevent Decheng and his girlfriend, Qiuping, both 17 at the time, from living together or getting married. And then when Qiuping became pregnant, the authorities tried to force her to have an abortion because she lacked a birth permit.

This was also a regime that tried to exploit the great love between Decheng, the prisoner, and Qiuping, the dutiful wife, for political purposes. In the end, the regime crushed that love.

By the time Decheng was released from jail, he and Qiuping were divorced. He soon remarried and later fled to Burma, then Thailand and, in 2006, he came to Canada.

Now, in poor health, he lives in Calgary with his second wife and their two sons. Decheng’s daughter from his first marriage has also come to Canada.

The other two egg-throwers served even longer prison sentences than Decheng. They have both recently left China to settle in Indiana. The three men have considerable star power within the West’s Chinese pro-democracy movement……. (more details from The Ottawa Citizen)

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev says he would like to meet with “dissidents” when he visits the U.S. next week.

Russian news agencies quote him as telling a group of visiting foreign experts that “I believe there are dissidents in the United States.”

ITAR-Tass quotes him as saying: “Let them tell me what problems the United States has. That won’t be bad, considering the Soviet experience.”

It wasn’t immediately clear if the comment Tuesday was a subtle dig at the U.S., which has frequently criticized Russia for backsliding on democracy.

Medvedev has retained the Kremlin-dominated political system developed under former President Vladimir Putin. But he’s also shown some signs of positioning himself as less of a hard-liner.

OK, so let’s add to our glossary of theological terms.  Essentially, “theodicy” refers to the problem of suffering in a God-created world and asks questions about God’s complicity – tacit, passive, or active – in the evil that humans experience in the created order.

Gentle reader, if you look to the right-hand column of this blog, you’ll find two books I’ve read recently that have to do with theodicy in one way or another.  The first, Bart Ehrman’s God’s Problem:  How the Bible Fails to Answer Our Most Important Question – Why We Suffer, is a philosophical account of Ehrman’s journey from believer to agnostic/atheist, a journey for which the puzzles of theodicy were the primary vehicle.  The account is credible; Ehrman is a professor of theology at a prominent university in North Carolina, and he is married to a believer.

One can quibble with whether or not theodicy is our most important question, but it clearly must be numbered among the top few, inasmuch as we devote massive amounts of local, state, and federal taxes to suppress evil in its various forms and to remediate its various effects.  (Just pondering the magnitude of those expenditures can drive a person insane.  The cost of keeping evil at bay is truly unfathomable.)

And one could also quarrel with Ehrman’s reasoning as the book unfolds.  qb did just that at a number of points; Ehrman’s logic is not air-tight.  But one thing that cannot be disputed is that theodicy played the primary role in at least this one man’s decision to reject the God he had once willingly and piously served.

The second book is a shorter but more personal, and therefore more harrowing, narrative of looking at evil first-hand and up close, Elie Wiesel’s Night.  Do not read it unless you are prepared for nightmares and prepared to follow along with Wiesel as he questions, and then abandons, his own deeply internalized Jewish faith in YHWH, the god of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

The setting:  Hungary and Poland, 1940s.  Separated from his mother and sister when the Third Reich sweeps into Hungary, Wiesel accompanies his father into the unconscionable suffering of Auschwitz and beyond, and they survive nearly all of it, until finally his beloved father succumbs to dysentery just before the Russian army liberates the camp.  The tragic ending reminds me so much of Erich Maria Remarque’s All Quiet on the Western Front, which I read in Bob McCannon’s 10th-grade history class in Albuquerque…the injustice of dying at all is compounded by how tantalizingly close the two Wiesel men came to surviving together.

qb’s difficulty with all of this stems from his own experience of evil as a father, albeit a relatively mild form by comparison.  But the questions of theodicy are fundamentally the same at all scales of inquiry, from the social evils of suburban-American middle-school life to the systemic evils of Ghana, 9/11, and South Africa.  What sort of loving God would advocate the slaughter of innocents in Jericho and Ai, would give free rein to the likes of Pol Pot and Stalin, would stand idly by as mere children threaten to take their own lives to escape the quotidien torment of adolescent biochemistry and social orders?  It is enough, qb concludes, when considered at length, to drive a Christian believer to run away from the bloodthirsty God of the Old Testament and away from the criminally silent god of the present age.

Oddly, as I ponder these things, though I find myself running from God, yet I find myself running toward Jesus.  (Is this what C. S. Lewis really meant by “the hound of heaven?”)

So qb is toying with a solution.  What if, for example, the accounts of God’s slaughter-commands in the Hebrew Bible (the OT) are just so much literary propaganda by royal apologist-historians?  Egad.

Yes, gentle reader, qb is wandering far afield, toying with the theological equivalent of heroin.  The dangers here are no secret.  Still, it makes little sense to pretend the journey’s not going on when it clearly is.  As I told my Bible study group a couple of months ago:  if my sons are going to reject God, I want them to reject the real God, not some sanitized, absurd, incoherent caricature dreamed up by positivistic, irrational, two-bit evangelicals bent on building impressive religious empires on premillennial fantasies and self-help pabulum worthy of Dr. Phil.  (“But how do you really feel about them, qb?”)

And don’t miss this from nine lines up:  qb’s running toward Jesus.  qb can no more contemplate giving up on Jesus the Anointed than our Golden Retriever could contemplate life as a duck-billed platypus.  Whatever danger there is in this theological journey is the same sort of danger that Job courted in daring to question YHWH’s character…and for much the same reason.  But the active belief – the one that actually animates qb’s choices as a father and a husband and a boss and an employee – is the Dallas Willard- and N. T. Wright-inspired belief that the resurrected Jesus knew what he was talking about because of who he was.

Human Rights and Democracy Activist Xie Changfa Receives Harsh Sentence:

After over a year of detention, Xie Changfa (谢长发), a China Democracy Party organizer turned human rights activist, was convicted of “subversion of state power” and sentenced to 13 years in prison by Changsha City’s Intermediate Court on September 1.  This harsh verdict echoes the original prison terms handed down to the banned Democracy Party’s founders over a decade ago, indicating that the government has not become any more tolerant of dissent or efforts by citizens to exercise their political rights or their right to defend other citizens’ rights in the intervening years.

Nation-wide Clampdown on Activists and Petitioners in Anticipation of 60th Anniversary of Founding of the People’s Republic:

As with other major events during which the eyes of the nation and world fall on Beijing, such as this past June’s anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre or last year’s Olympic Games, police and officials are sparing no effort to ensure that any “unharmonious” voices are kept silent.  To that end, officials from Tianjin City, Hebei Province, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning Province, Shanxi Province and Shandong Province have agreed to work together with Beijing police to  tighten up security around the capital in the buildup to the 60th anniversary celebrations of the founding of the People’s Republic of China on October 1, including establishing checkpoints on all roadways leading towards the capital and working to “solve problems locally”, preventing petitioners from travelling to Beijing.  On the afternoon of August 29, a group of 15 Shanghai petitioners in Beijing were seized and forcibly returned home after they travelled to Tiananmen Square to watch rehearsals for the National Day celebrations.

Activists and lawyers in Beijing have been visited by police and told to leave town, subjected to enforced “tourism” with policemen, or placed under house arrest.  They are being told not to return until one week after the celebration.  On August 31, Zhang Hui (张辉), the director of the Mr. Democracy Research Institute (德先生研究所) in Beijing, was forced to leave the capital and return to his hometown in Shanxi.  This sort of harassment will only increase over the next few weeks as National Day draws nearer. …… (more details from Chinese Human Rights Defender)

I was only 18 years old in 1985 when they came out with the first HIV test. I had just dropped out of the engineering program at Purdue University in my freshman year when I tested positive in January of ‘86 on a military placement exam in Indianapolis. I was subsequently denied entrance to the navy, given up to five years to live, and told that I needed counseling for my homosexuality. Due to my promiscuity in my teen years, by the time I tested positive I had already accepted that I was likely “HIV+” and previously exposed to the “gay cancer” which was thought to be sexually transmitted for several years prior. I didn’t get depressed and I wasn’t even afraid when I found out. I was young, free-spirited, and invincible — I didn’t even cry.

I was raised agnostic by my parents and first became a Christian in the winter of  ‘87/’88 when I was 20 years old. I remember believing it was very logical to be agnostic, after all I couldn’t deny that there was a God nor could I believe that those who professed faith really believed in a God of love when their actions typically didn’t demonstrate such a belief.  At the time, I was the navigator for my significant other, Robert Sexson Jr., who drove a semi tractor-trailer across country for Com-Trans (North American Van Lines), which permitted me to visit through almost every state in the country. One day we were driving across Ohio on I-70, near Columbus, and I was switching channels on the radio specifically looking for Paula Abdul when I suddenly stopped on a talk-show arguing the existence of God. For the first time, I believed in God; shortly thereafter, I became a Christian.

I first did crystal meth when I was just 16 years old, in the summer of ‘83. Although my father had always dealt drugs like marijuana and LSD to support his habit throughout my childhood, he never drank alcohol and didn’t start dealing meth until I was 18. He later died of a cerebral hemorrhage in ‘88, which I learned was probably caused by his amphetamine use.  Although he was severely abused as a child, by a sadistic foster father, and had his share of character defects, he worked hard, loved animals, abhorred gossip, was loyal to his friends, and loved me unconditionally. Even though my father and mother were both “functional” addicts, patients of the diet doctors and pharmaceutical grade meth in the ’70s, they had a good work ethic and demonstrated many good virtues. My mother was very successful and kept a nice and tidy home. She taught me not to judge “condemn” other people and has been an excellent example of those values throughout her life. My parents even went dancing in gay bars occasionally because they played better dance music.

When I was 17 years old, I learned of a recreational drug in the gay community called MDA. It is related to the currently popular drug MDMA, also known as ecstasy.

Also know as DOM, MDA was introduced into the San Francisco drug scene in the late 1960s and was nicknamed STP, an acronym for Serenity, Tranquility, and Peace. Doses of 1-3 milligrams generally produce mood alterations and minor perceptual alterations, while larger doses can produce pronounced hallucinations that last from 8-10 hours. Because they are produced in clandestine laboratories, these drugs are seldom pure, and the amount of active ingredient in a capsule or tablet is likely to vary considerably.”

Wikipedia states, “Methylenedioxyamphetamine aka MDA or Tenamfetamine is a psychedelic hallucinogenic drug and empathogen/entactogen of the phenethylamine family. It is mainly used as a recreational drug, an entheogen, and a tool in use to supplement various types of practices for transcendence, including in meditation, psychonautics, and illegal psychedelic psychotherapy. MDA also differs from its methylated cousin MDMA in its acute toxicity, in that it is clearly more toxic, with toxicity indicative of over-stimulation of the central nervous system. MDA is also considered less predictable than MDMA and thus its effects can vary greatly from person to person… However, no properly controlled experiments have compared these drugs in people.”

Cecil Adams states in his article, What was in MDA, the hot drug of the 1970s?, “Dope lore had it that MDA induced a sense of confidence and a feeling of warmth and empathy toward other people (hence the appellation ‘the love drug’)”. He also stated that it produced “a tolerance in the body with use, so that it took progressively larger doses to produce the desired effect each time. A rather simple mistake in the MDA drug synthesizing process could produce a toxic drug called PMA (paramethoxy-amphetamine), which made deadly poisoning a serious possibility.”

I only did MDA on a few occasions, and it always produced an overwhelmingly intense sexual high with hallucinations and severe body muscle tension and cramping. It was the most intense and toxic recreational drug I have ever taken; which took me four days to physically recuperate after using it just one night with vomiting and severe physical fatigue.

It is interesting to note that MDA was used on the west and east coasts in the gay “kink” scene of the ’70s and early ’80s, at the same time people began dying of the mysterious illness now known as AIDS. From my own experience with stimulants such as MDA, MDMA, and methamphetamines, I know that they are often used compulsively and for prolonged periods. This compulsive use, along with preoccupation with sex, leads to malnutrition due to loss of appetite and dehydration due to lack of fluid intake. So the immune system is damaged directly by the drugs and indirectly by the lack of basic nutrition and hydration of the body. For studies that show immune suppression by the drugs themselves, see:

I believe that there is a strong correlation between MDA use of the affected gay community in the ’70s and ’80s and the subsequent immune collapse seen in so many gay men, especially on the west coast where AIDS began. MDA rarely trickled into the mid-west gay community from those who had connections on the coast. From my vantage point as a teen within that community, I couldn’t see it clearly, but I eventually connected the dots and realized the obvious. Later, I watched as MDA disappeared from the gay scene shortly after the introduction of the AIDS inducing drug AZT as a treatment for AIDS. It is the only illicit drug I have ever known to disappear entirely from the scene and never return. All that remains is its weaker cousin MDMA; this raises serious questions in my mind about where all the MDA was coming from back then. Even at the peak of its popularity, MDA was not something I ever saw discussed publicly by drug enforcement agencies or in the media. And then it simply disappeared. MDA is virtually unknown to those in the younger gay community today.

Although I’m a Christian and a friend of spiritual recovery programs, I believe that there are infinite individual paths to recovery, enlightenment, and a higher power that are constantly being forged by God so that we can find our way of our own free will, which was given to us with infinite wisdom and love. Thanks to my higher power, whom I choose to call “God”, I am finally recovering from my co-dependency, alcoholism, and drug abuse. And quitting cigarettes in October 2008 after 32 years of smoking a pack a day was easy! Although, I had a one day relapse last August and picked up the cigarettes again, which I plan to put back down again soon.

In spite of the death sentence that I received from the navy over 23 years ago, and my personal life-long struggle with drug and alcohol abuse, I have survived and even thrived at times. I owned a successful business from ‘92 to ‘97 with Robert, whom I was with until he died of valley fever, aka cocci pneumonia, in my presence on January 4, 1997, surrounded by friends and family. I have completed 4 years of college since his death — two years of semiconductor manufacturing technology with a 4.0 GPA and two years of business administration including calculus, composition, Western civilization, sociology, and a passion for American studies with an overall GPA of 3.28.

I was living in downtown Milwaukee about 4 years ago and using the dirty city water in my coffee pot, which didn’t get the water hot enough to disinfect it. The city of Milwaukee, especially downtown, has notoriously dirty water from sewage backing up from the deep tunnel sewage system and Lake Michigan during storms into the water supply. It’s notorious for cryptosporidium and God knows what other septic organisms. They often put out alerts to boil the water after rain storms. In Milwaukee, I suffered a year-long bout with diarrhea and my health dramatically declined for the first time in 19 years of being “HIV+.” I was struggling in a new co-dependent relationship and in and out of alcohol and drug abuse. Needless to say, I wasn’t thinking clearly. Out of fear, I started HAART in 2005; afterward, tests indicated that my health VERY SLOWING started to improve, but the diarrhea persisted.

I didn’t start figuring it all out until I moved away from Milwaukee to Minneapolis. The diarrhea disappeared quickly and completely, and my health improved dramatically in the summer of 2008 even though I wasn’t taking any HIV medication at all. Suffering from occasional nagging fears, I took the meds off and on for almost 4 years. Then I found out about Christine Maggiore’s death, and something happened inside me that I cannot explain other that it was a spiritual experience which began to re-awaken me to the truth. I will never again take another ridiculous toxic pill.

I received a Medicare statement from Humana last December on what had been paid through the end of November for my “medication” alone in 2008: $13,349.23 by Humana, $4,665.37 by Medicare, and $39.45 by me for a total of $18,054.05 for just 11 months — $1,781.44 for November alone. That’s over $21,000 a year for one toxic pill per person per day. This is an insane example of the fleecing of America and the world. I also believe that it is both fraud and a criminal conspiracy by the pharmaceutical companies resulting in crimes against humanity and genocide.

I’m attaching my senior picture that was taken in 1985, 1 year before I tested HIV+, and the recent portrait taken in October, 2008.  Not bad for being told I had AIDS and handed a death sentence with only 5 years to live when I was just 18 years old, huh?

(Chinese Human Rights Defenders, September 1, 2009) – On August 31, detained Beijing writer and intellectual Liu Xiaobo (刘晓波) met with his lawyers Ding Xihui (丁锡奎) and Shang Baojun (尚宝军) for the third time since his detention began last December. The lawyers revealed to CHRD that the police have extended the period of investigation of Liu’s case for an additional month, through September 23. Liu appears to be in good spirits.

On August 31, Liu and his lawyers met for thirty minutes at Beijing No.1 Detention Center. The police were present throughout the meeting despite requests from the lawyers to meet with Liu without monitoring.  Liu told his lawyers that he is being interrogated once a week. He is allowed to leave his cell for thirty minutes every day, but must remain in the corridors of the detention center and is not allowed out into the open air; he is permitted to watch TV and read a restricted selection of books.

On August 24, Liu’s lawyers were told by the Beijing police that they had extended the investigation period of Liu’s case for another month. According to the Criminal Procedural Law (CPL), after a suspect is formally arrested, the police have a maximum of two months to investigate the case. After that, the period can be extended three times. Altogether, the investigation period can last for a maximum of seven months (CPL Articles 124, 126 and 127). Zan Aizong is a well-known Chinese blogger who’s sometimes critical of the Communist Party. In 2006, he was arrested and fired from his job as the Zhejiang bureau chief of the Chinese Ocean News for writing an article that exposed the forced demolition of a Christian church building.

Well now the regime has labeled him a dissident— adding him to a secret media blacklist and shutting down his blog.

The blacklist was created by Chinas Propaganda Ministry. It contains the names of 247 so-called dissidents that Chinese media are now forbidden to interview or write about.

Chinese news service Boxun.net reports that the media have been ordered to copy the blacklist by hand—making sure there’s no electronic record.

Zan Aizong says these kinds of orders are common around politically sensitive dates. On October 1, the Communist regime will celebrate the 60th anniversary of its takeover of China.

In an interview with Sound of Hope Radio, Zan says the blacklist may actually draw more attention to the very people the regime is trying to suppress.

[Zan Aizong, Writer and Dissident]:
“Before, people didn’t care about what [dissidents] wrote, because there are hundreds of thousands of people in the media business. The more the media is asked to ignore them, the more the media will pay attention. The media may find alternative ways [to get input from the dissidents].”

Zan hasn’t personally seen a copy of the blacklist, but he says it’s a violation of the Chinese constitution.

“Handing out this document is equivalent to violating citizens rights to their names and reputations. If you dont allow them to be published, its like saying theres something wrong with the person or he’s made mistakes or broken the law. Their reputation would be tarnished. The [Propaganda Ministry] can be sued through civil laws.”

Other dissidents on the blacklist include democracy activist Liu Xiaobo, his wife Liu Xia, and an outspoken former associate professor at Peking University, Jiao Guobiao.

The dissident got up and said, “what, how terrible! “ The mortals of humanity— the radical anarchists of today; the dispossessed, the marginalized— the ‘ones’ who are writing for democracies all over the world— dissidents are the wounded soldiers of humanity. The prize should not be filtered away. It should be given honor and representation to a writer in whose country every cognition is interpreted externally as the voice of the repressed. Dissidents are political prisoners and the literature, beyond the asylum is a gulag which needs your royal patronage.”
     

The Queer think -tank got up and started circling hands in very puzzling but sincere symbolic conundrum much to the consternation of the panel. “Queerism in literature is going through nascence of a cult. Why? Even today, it is negated to the peripheries of marginal literature. The evolution of Queerism to the main street acceptance and the schisms of imagistic renaissance within its apocrypha have plenty of talent. Circulate the globe— if by any chance or mishap it falls in an emerging anti-queer country, award a prize, if there’s any of the of the samizdat queer – texts there”.
     

Illuminati on poetics got up and cautioned: “I am ashamed and puzzled by your mediocre and burlesque quest for the survival of anything remote to World Literature.  I am no proponent of poetics, and for that matter I am hardly able to read anything of prose either. I propose to give the 2010 Nobel Prize for Literature to a work I read:  called the “Death of the Language”. It has a few blank pages, and then a chapter called confusion where the writer says: “the experiment is to make the letters – the smallest, and then they will hardly be legible. Then there are two pages blank. And a page embossed in medieval manuscript form with the title called: ‘Order beyond the Hegemony of Anarchy’. All the letters of the language are arrayed like stars in a galaxy. Then there’s a chapter called ‘Renaissance within the Association of Metaphors’. Two images shown are that of weeds growing out of tongues, and eyes growing out of brains. Within the periphery called – ‘End of the Book’ there’s the title written in hieroglyphic and translated into English as:  ‘Organic museum’.  Here nudes are displayed through various stages of expressionism; there’s also an advertisement logo of curative organic food with aphrodisiac intensity for sale.
   

 The last page of the book ends with the denouement called synthesis of fiction. Here a miniature doll called ‘Magic and Myth’ hangs on a branch in contemplation. As soon as the reader touches the page, an enabled audio script proclaims hysterically….  “I killed the tarot.”
     

This poly-magical-lateral -poetical-mythical-post-post-post-modern work has the Universe within in it as every conceivable form; it is a simulated chorus of many texts. It is a book which will displace and bewilder the semiology of the arcane world of the trans-generic— where the sect, the order and the worshippers, secretly assume and proliferate the world into every imaginable fictions of recognition. In the world of decadence, no doubt, beyond art, it is a literature!

generations of literature. How ever I feel Mr. Schmitt Lewinsky Gardner’s work as   ‘Orientalism within the West’ and Ms. Spivak Chandra Sullivan’s Occidentalism as the East’ are possible inclusions for the Nobel Prize list.

The cerebrated literary theorist jumped up like a pole vault and shouted, “you hardly read the great theories of language called: ‘meanings of representation within every symbol’; infinity like Shakpeaspre is: blind Homer within every representation. The blind eyes of Homer deceive speech or substitute it as the intention.  Today the Babel -cipher-cyber can generate any combination of literature, and it has the possibility to make and evolve anything and every thing as literature. It can adulterate the soul of the language and the freedom of human expression and make all literatures –a simulation. I feel the Nobel Prize should go to the machine.

As the committee started quarrelling and disagreeing on everything– the military dictator pointed his Beretta 92 F and said, “Order, order or I fire; since all literature is the semblance for imagination and mere creation,  there’s no universal literature  called: world within humanity and humanity  within every experience; therefore we short list none for a Nobel prize.”

The circus buffoon laughed so loudly that all eyes were cast on him; the Beretta 92 F started changing his position with the muzzle closing in– “please, let this year’s prize be given to the circus of readers”. His last words before being martyred were: this ceases to be the writer’s prize as none except you have read it.

August 2, 2009 (CSN) — Leading Chinese dissident Tang Baiqiao doesn’t take misbehavior from the Chinese government sitting down. Recently, violence was directed against him with a suspicious attack in Flushing, New York.

The attack came after threats of violence that Tang received last year while Chinese pro-democracy campaigners were opposing the Beijing Olympics and CCP violence then directed against Falun Gong practitioners in Flushing, New York.

Tang was a leader in the student uprising of 1989 that led to the Tiananmen massacre. Tang escaped from China into exile in the 1990s, and now lives in the United States. As a Chinese dissident, his resume is lengthy and distinguished. Previously, he was known for his organizations including the China Peace and Democracy Federation–formerly called ‘China Peace’–and the All China People’s Autonomous Federation.

It is true to note that Tang’s group and the China Support Network have cooperated in the Global Coalition to Bring Jiang to Justice; the Tuidang campaign; the Freedom First Olympics Second Coalition; and the Human Rights Torch Relay. At the beginning of 2008, Tang became an officer and spokesman for the China Interim Government. As previously reported by CSN, Tang explains that–

“The goal of the Chinese Transitional Government is to overthrow the Chinese Communist dictatorship; to establish a democratic society. Because only the overthrow of the Chinese Communist tyranny can solve all the problems in China.”

It was July 6 when Tang was assaulted at the Hollywood Karaoke Bar on College Point Boulevard in Flushing, Queens of New York City. The attack was unprovoked, and caused injuries for which Tang was hospitalized, but the incident did not include robbery. Since nothing was stolen, that reinforces suspicions that the attack was politically motivated.

Last year on May 17, there began to be organized and orchestrated violence directed against Falun Gong practitioners in Flushing, New York. Investigation revealed that “diplomats” at the Chinese Consulate were involved, as the Consul General Peng Keyu was caught on a tape recording, bragging about his leadership to instigate the attacks. (See this link) Multiple Falun Gong practitioners were assaulted, and according to Wenyi Wang of the Tuidang campaign, 22 arrests were made. In June, Falun Gong practitioners living in Ireland reported recieving death threats and physical intimidation.

At roughly the same time, Tang Baiqiao was investigating the CCP violence in Flushing, and working for the China Interim Government, and campaigning against the then-upcoming Beijing Olympics. Reporters Without Borders regrets that the release of Urumqi-based cyber-dissident Tao Haidong on 8 July on completing a seven-year jail sentence has been overshadowed by the custodial sentences passed on two other cyber-dissidents and human rights activists, Zhang Qi and Zhang Peng, for criticising the government online.

Zhang Qi, an independent blogger based in the southwestern city of Chongqing, was sentenced on 7 July to four years in prison and two years without civic rights for “inciting subversion of state authorities” in his blog. Zhang Peng, a blogger based in Shenyang, the capital of northeastern Liaoning province, was sentenced without a trial on 27 June to 18 months in a reeducation camp on the same charge for referring to the 1989 pro-democracy movement.

“Tao Haidong was only freed because he had completed his sentence, while two other cyber-dissidents, Zhang Qi and Zhang Peng, have been convicted because of their opinions,” Reporters Without Borders said.

“The repression never lets up, regardless of the reassuring comments by the Chinese leaders,” the press freedom organisation added. “We firmly condemn these sentences, which yet again highlight the severity with which the regime punishes those who express views at variance with those of the ruling Communist Party.”…… (more details from Reporters Without Borders)
