Hey There!

People have been posting alot! I am so happy. I finally got Google Chrome working again, by hitting the computer quite hard (not recomended for people that are not happy to take a 50/50 chance with the survivle of their computer.) Was just watching the Simpsons. New episode. I just remembered why i stopped watching it. The new episodes suck, i don’t know about you, but the only bits that are funny, is re used material. And it’s completely gone from funy oone liners and politics, to a really bad version of slapstick, where everyone seems to die, and nothing happens. 90% of the jokes were the same jokes as it had been all episode. ‘Oh HAHA! look! cheif wiggum isn’t a good policeman! They havn’t done that one before!’

So i gave up. Switched to ABC. You should do th same. If any one listens to Hamish & Andy, then you are cool. I podcast it, and i think they are the lols of the radio. www.hamishandandy.com.

For this insult towards my only buddy and myself. Just like what she told me, I may not borned to be talented, at least I work hard for it. That alone, I believe surpasses the attitude you’ve shown.

Tell me. What’s so great about Christians? Aren’t they breathing through the same air as us? Aren’t they worshipping a god just like any other people in buddhism, islamic,hindu and etc. Aren’t they speaking the same language as us?

If Christianity has nothing ever to do with this issue, then, I questioned who causes this arrogance of yours. Was it not the one who created you? Or is it just you? Then again, if you believed that god created you, it meant that god made you in this way, hasn’t he?

Actions talks louder than words, don’t they ever?

Why? This dude plays his heart out every game and can still drop 25pts every night. Not to mention his assists are always in the 6+ range. So why are they dissing him?

As of now, he is not on a team. Team managers are not quick to jump on this guy and he is basically sitting around waiting for the phone to ring. Are people forgetting that Iverson is a hall of fame type of player, possibly the best scorer to ever play and has more heart than almost anyone in the league when he is on the court?

Yes he demands the ball and needs to be on the court to be effective, but teams want him to come off the bench. There has to be a fit for Iverson’s skills to contribute effectively.

Why are teams sleeping on him and practically dissing him?

This have been going on for awhile now. Eminem beefing with Mariah Carey.

Eminem has dissed Mariah Carey in a few of his songs, especially in Bagpipes from Baghdad. She basically responded with timid responses.

He talk about how they had a relationship, but she said they did not.

I believe they were friendly but it was not that serious.

Anyway, who really care what they had.

Awhile back, Nick Cannon went on a blog rant talking about how he didn’t like Eminem dissing his wife and bla bla bla…

Since then Mariah released a song and a remix of it, dissing Eminem back full blown.

I think the best part of the song is when she is singing, “Why you so obsessed with me, Boy I wanna know. Lying that you’re sexing me, When everybody knows, it’s clear that you’re upset with me…” or that part of the chorus.

The song is straight. She could have come with something a little more stronger. This wasn’t her best, to me.

Anyway, I like both Mariah Carey and Eminem. They are among my favorite artists and on my playlists.

I really have nothing bad to say about either of them.

Both are top-selling artists, making money off this so called publicity stunt.

Whether or not, this was a smart idea for Mariah to dissed Eminem back, trying to look like him and mock him, it remains to be seen.

In my opinion, I think so. When you are a popular and top selling artist, and people are going to buy your albums-then go for it.

We were asking for the witty Eminem with nice beats and positively hilarious lyrics, not the new let’s-introduce-a-piano-chorus-in-this-already-terrible-song-because-the-brainless-lyrics-aren’t-sufficiently-annoying Eminem. And yes, the piano chorus ticks me off, I simply cannot stand it. Not only that, but the irregular pauses he makes in between words or verses only contribute to ruining the already mediocre “rhythm”.

“Get ready to tackle any task that is at hand”, I might complete with “Like deal with hoards of unhappy fans”. Because yes, I am extremely unhappy. Is that all Eminem could come up with during an almost 5 year break ? Sheesh.

And what was up with the sempiternal name-dropping ? Why mention half of Hollywood ? Was he afraid he wouldn’t get enough attention if he hadn’t been dissing celebrities for 4 minutes and 47 painful seconds ?

Republican Donors – Your Dollars at Work

This photo was provided by McCain/Palin campaign for press use… and presumably for any and all uses.  Oh, all right then I don’t have to be told twice.  I have a few uses in mind.  Let’s just say that this one doesn’t leave much to the imagination, as the worst of Sarah Palin keeps showing up every time I open a newspaper.  This one photograph comes close to resembling the rabble-rousing Sarah in the stories that are emerging.

Out there is a part of America-loving America (Henderson, Nevada, I believe) where it’s apparently also easy to think of herself as smarter than a lot of people – she has gone full tilt boogie beehive in front of a lot of cheering, hooting folks driven by fear and uneasiness.  Their lives are falling apart.  They need someone to pick on, someone to unload their frustration upon, someone who has “chosen to be unsaved.”

Their fear of job loss and their misplaced anger at people only slightly different than themselves make them easy marks for being manipulated by demagogues. There are restless youth out there, looking for people to hate.  Just like in times past… times I would dearly love to not see repeated.

So – Lowest Common Denominator Sarah.  Pretending to be our “Everywoman” laundramat confidante, folding overalls next to the coin machine.  Ranting about “those people” who will supposedly bring down the neighborhood, or the country, if we let “them” take control.  Offering up fired-off little pumped up exaggerations and half-lies that feed on the very worst instincts in people – instincts to blame others, instincts to hurt, instincts to banish and isolate and attack that which is “foreign” and unfamiliar.

Hey, but we all do know you’re not one of us.  We know how much those clothes, those shoes, those eyeglasses, that makeup, that couture hair-streaking cost.  Your $26,000-plus monthly hairstylist bill exceeds all my annual household expenses.  You are not “Everywoman.”

Love America?  Is that what this hyperventilated dissing of half your fellow citizens is all about?  Feels like tear America apart to me.

More thoughts on Sarah Palin and “Responsibility”

For the last week I’ve been on a wilderness canoe trip without any phone or computer or cars or humans other than my partner. It was the first time I’ve been without contact to the rest of society in…as long as I can remember. It’s been a new attempt at finding balance in my life – something every organizer I know is desperately searching for, since organizing is a thankless endeavor that takes over your entire life, to the point where you eat, sleep, and breathe the work. The pressure of striving to do your best to have your work guided by deep accountability to the communities or folks you work with is a tremendous responsibility that doesn’t seem to be in the lexicon of our elected officials.

I just stepped into a canoe lodge on the Canadian/Minnesota border, and the first thing I hear about the outside world is a vice presidential candidate dissing community organizing (and Giuliani too!). I’ve heard a lot of really foul things come out of the mouths of politicians from both major parties. It’s expected. But this time I was just surprised. Community organizing, whether on the Left or the Right is the lifeblood of this country and the engine of change.

I realize someone posted about this on IGHIH earlier, (not sure about the blogging ettiquite of posting twice about the same subject, excuse the possible faux pas) but I wanted to share a couple insights from people I like.

Jay Smooth from Illdoctrine put it best:

When Sarah Palin demeaned community organizing, she didn’t attack another candidate. She attacked an American tradition —- one that has helped everyday Americans engage with the political process and make a difference in their lives and the lives of their neighbors.All across the country, in every state and every community, there are community organizers helping people find shared solutions to the shared problems they face. The candidates for President and Vice President should be working to solve our shared problems, too, rather than attack others who trying to do the same.

And as some other friends of mine pointed out, we just saw what the Republicans really think of community organizing and peaceful protest, after turning the Twin Cities into what resembled a warzone, with tazers, mace, teargas, concussion grenades, mass arrests of bystanders and even media, rubber bullets, and the national guard. After that, snarky comments about organizers not shouldering responsibility don’t seem so bad, eh?
