We live in an era of explosive change encoded in the heavens and foretold in the prophecies of spiritual traditions around the world. A wave of evolution touches all areas of our world and our lives, from climate change and economic freefall to politics, business, medicine, the arts, religion, education and science. This magical moment in Earth’s history is a turning point, a time of shifting consciousness filled with quantum possibilities for transforming our lives and our world.

In an earlier post I spoke about the Feminine Energy Shift currently taking place globally, heralding a transformation from the old patriarchal paradigm to the ‘new’ feminine consciousness.

As above, so below – what is happening at the human level of existence is mirrored at the geo-physical level where change is happening at a disquieting rate.

Scientists have been baffled by the expansion of ice in Antarctica (the South Pole), while the opposite is happening in the Arctic Circle (the North Pole) – ice is retracting fast.

A recent finding by the British Antarctic Survey and the US space agency NASA explains an apparent contradiction between the recent record thaw of ice in the Arctic and an increase in ice around Antarctica during the past 30 years.

The scientists say damage to the ozone layer, which shields the planet from ultraviolet rays, cooled the stratosphere and disrupted wind patterns around Antarctica.

They say that the shift meant winds blew off the continent more often, cooling the sea and creating more ice.

Sea ice around Antarctica has expanded at a rate of around 100,000 square kilometres per decade since the 1970s, and now covers an area of about 19 million square kilometres at its winter maximum, doubling the size of the continent.

By contrast, summer sea ice around the North Pole shrank in 2007 to the smallest since satellite records began in the 1970s.

Symbolically speaking, the South Pole, which classically relates to yin and the feminine polarity, is literally gaining ground, while the yang, male polarity is retracting.

The scientific reason being given is the hole in the ozone layer. While a hole in the protective layer around the planet cools the stratosphere creating new wind currents, it also means an increase in solar energy (sunlight) penetrating the stratosphere and affecting the globe.

In metaphysical terms, an increase in light represents an increase in consciousness coming in to the planet from higher dimensions, bringing change.

Wind, metaphysically, relates to change, and the world is currently experiencing a whirlwind of change on every level, especially change that is aligned with the feminine principle (cool winds coming off the Antarctic continent – the yin pole).

An increase in feminine energy around the globe heralds a radical change in the way that we have been thinking. This shift calls on both males and females to embrace a new world order to replace the old ways, which, clearly, are no longer serving humanity or the planet.

The feminine principle is more about:

nurturing others rather than focusing singularly on one’s own needs (e.g. questioning corporate high flyers taking the cream off the top and calling for equality in wealth-sharing),
connecting and networking with others rather than competing against others (NB. the power of the internet to connect people),
conserving resources rather than expending them (the environmental duty of care as opposed to mindless plundering of planetary resources)
a desire to move towards peaceful global co-existence rather than war and destruction instigated by wealthier nations flexing their power hungry muscles and territorial skirmishes.
“This new research helps us solve some of the puzzle of why sea ice is shrinking in some areas and growing in others,” says John Turner of BAS and lead author of the report, which appears in the journal Geophysical Research Letters.

So too, does a thoughtful recognition of how geo-physical changes are a distinct parallel with consciousness changes currently sweeping the planet.

Today is about celebrating the divine feminine energy. The mother energy. The energy of unconditional love and care.

The Deities that support us and gather today are Mother Mary, Mawu, Nungeena-tya, Freyja to list a couple and importantly Gaia.

My focus today is on the blessing of my own mother. My grandmothers who are now watching over us. Who led the way for our family of women. I spoke of them here and here. Immense gratitude for the gift of being a mother to my 3 beautiful children.

I also hold in the forefront of my mind prayers and thoughts for those whose mothers have passed over, whose mothers are not playing a mothering role in their lives, the mamas with empty arms who would give anything to have their angel babies in their tender care and finally those mamas whose spirit babies whisper to them but have not decided to incarnate.

This year is interesting as although I am a mama my attention is being drawn to people without their mamas or people who are mama’s with empty arms.

I feel I’m connecting to the energy of these beautiful souls for one reason or another who will feel loss today whether they want to or not.

I know in the past I never truly understood those people in my life whose mothers had passed away. Of course I knew that they were sad but I thought they celebrated their beautiful mother anyway and used the day as a day of remembrance. It only registered when I lost my grandma 4 years ago. Although not my mama I felt the loss of her prescence. It was then I understood albeit a tiny sliver what it was like for those without their mama’s physically or emotionally present. This day is a sad reminder of their loss.

For those who I am aware of who for some horrible often unexplainable reason do not have their children in their arms and by their side or those who continue to dream of those little people in their lives I can only imagine what it is like and send my heartfelt love and thoughts today, again a reminder of your loss or dreams unfulfilled. If only there was something I could honestly do.

Today, as I reiterate when I hold space during blessingways, the African Proverb is what I draw strength from and hope our society can re-establish with momentum

“It takes a village to raise a child”

Whether you are the biological mother or not it is the mother energy that is what is most important for our soul and higher consciousness and in the best interest of humanity in my humble opinion. Somewhere, somehow it has been lost and truly to our and our children, the next generations detriment. I know this may be cold comfort but truly know that you are appreciated and I for one am grateful as are many others I am sure for the role you play and energy you emit.

May today be filled with peace, love and beautiful memories. Blessed be.

The energy on our planet is unbalanced and the scale is tipped towards masculine energy.   The old patriarchal ways are not serving today’s children to the fullest, whether in the school systems, or at home. The systems we have in place in many aspects of our society are no longer working and as we grow closer to the re-distribution of power on our planet, it becomes more obvious.  Just check the current news stories to see evidence of the push of transformation.  These systems are obsolete and change is being fought by the old order every step of the way.

The feminine energy is coming forth to bring us back into a much-needed balance.  As I was interacting with my guides, they were quick to point out that we should not think of this emerging feminine energy to be gender specific.  More and more of the feminine energy is being seen in the males being born into our world now.  Creative, sensitive, right-brained males are here.  The mothers are the first to notice.  Unfortunately, many of these children are being persecuted and bullied. 

The rest of us are shifting and changing too.  More and more men and women are seeking out ways to center and re-balance.  There is a spiritual hunger, a very natural need to be whole again. 

Both men and women ultimately need to allow their male aspects as well as their feminine ones to blossom to become complete.

We are moving and change is good.  One of my favorite principles comes from my Personal Trainer/Gym experience “without resistance there can be little or no growth”.

I realized yesterday that I am falling fowl of the great overmothering syndrome. My awareness was brought to it, due to not only my exhaustion, but also how the male energy around me was rebelling. Some were rebelling passively by ignoring me and others by refusing to do anything I asked. My 7 & 9 year olds were turning into teenagers.

So as I analyzed this, the Angels guided me to a place of deep awareness. They told me that on the planet right now the feminine energy is changing. This does not pertain to just women as men also have an aspect of feminine within their beings. The feminine has felt unappreciated, unseen and ignored for a long long time. However now this beautiful divine energy that is within each of us wants to be rebalance and acknowledged.

Some of the symptoms that you maybe a little unbalanced is if you overmother – your kids, your partner, your clients, your friends, your pets. How this can manifest in your life if that you may be feeling unappreciated, or even unseen for your worth. If you overmother then you do not self-care for yourself enough as you are spending all your energy mothering all else around you. Of course the result is exhaustion, frustration, anger and perhaps even sadness.

Self-care is the only answer here. The Angels told me to look after myself. To see who I have been overmothering and to gently send them love and support them so their independence can unfolding. Of course the biggest blessing in this is not just the return of our energy but  also that those around us learn how to self-care for themselves.  As we model for them how it is done we encourage them to do the same for themselves.
