50 Cent’s sales for his latest studio LP Before I Self Destruct were disappointing to say the least.

50 Cent’s sales for his latest studio LP Before I Self Destruct were disappointing to say the least. The G-Unit President only managed to sell 161,000 copies of the project despite his tireless promotion and ongoing rap beefs. Now as news of his poor sales hits the net, his main rival is declaring victory over him. As previously reported, 50 took disrespect to new heights when he flew Ross’s baby mother and child to Las Vegas to parlay with himself and Floyd Mayweather. In retaliation to that and several other shots Ross spoke out against 50 at a recent concert.

Rick Ross took the stage with DJ Khaled for the 305 DJ’s birthday celebration. Before performing his hit “This Is the Life” from Trilla, he spoke on his nemesis’s poor sales week stating,

“So we celebrating my nigga birthday, but we’re also celebrating the demise of a pussy. R.I.P. to the donkey, we buried him. It feel good, nigga. Don’t look surprised, you knew we was gonna do it. There’s only one record that can describe the feeling.”

50 Cent has yet to respond but we all know it won’t be long before he does.

These are McDonalds commercials by DJ Khaled that are done locally for 99 Jamz (Miami) Well, here’s the most recent one and it features a passionate ode to the “McCafe”. Too hilarious. Khaled honestly needs to do some skits on his album because this is pure gold…or just kill himself…I still can’t stand Dj Khaled…but this s hilarious..

MTV goes behind the scences with DJ Khaled during the filming of his music video for “Fed Up” which is the first single off his upcoming LP Victory dropping early 2010. The video has appearances from featured artists Usher, Young Jeezy, Drake & Officer Ricky.

“Denzel, watch out,” DJ Khaled laughed. “I’m coming!”

Khaled not only got a chance to say lines, but he also was involved in action scenes during the recent filming of his video for “Fed Up.” Usher, Drake, Young Jeezy and Rick Ross all came to Miami for another of the DJ’s now-signature mammoth posse cuts.

The chaos starts when Khaled brings a briefcase — with special contents — to a meeting with some underworld bosses.

Here’s the new (I say new, but it’s just like the original) cover for Eminem’s re-released album Relapse: Refill, which features 7 new songs. This new double-disc, replaces the previously announced Relapse 2 LP, which the Eminem promised would hit stores by the end of the year. This new release drops a few days before xmas (Dec 22nd).

As for Usher, his new album Raymond vs Raymond, has been pushed back once again, despite being scheduled for release on December 21st. As it stands, there is no current release, but a rep for Usher tries to reassure fans that the album will be released real soon. Via MTV:

“We believe that the album is so strong that we want to give it the opportunity to have the proper setup before coming out.”

“So strong” yeah? Let’s hope so. In the meantime, I leave you with pics of Usher on set of DJ Khaled’s new video Fed Up (also featuring Drake, Rick Ross & Young Jeezy)…

After Jay-Z stepped down at Def Jam, things changed at the label. In the summer of 2008, Shakir Stew

After Jay-Z stepped down at Def Jam, things changed at the label. In the summer of 2008, Shakir Stewart took over at the label and things appeared to be headed back in the right direction. As a shock to many, Stewart committed suicide before the end of the year. Def Jam’s parent company, Universal Music Group, has spent all of this year searching for a replacement.

There has been some speculation on what would happen. Rumors have said that meetings have taken place with such label heads as Irv Gotti, Sean Combs, and Dame Dash. None of these meetings were ever confirmed as true. During the height of his feud with Rick Ross, 50 Cent said that he would move his G-Unit label to Def Jam and he would take over.

Back in September, Nas said that he had been offered the position of CEO at Def Jam. Nas has been known more for simply being a rapper, as opposed to being an executive. Outside of Nas, no one else has mentioned the possibility of him becoming the next leader at the label. It would be odd that the label would overlook someone like DJ Clue or Ludacris to choose Nas.

In 2008, DJ Khaled was named the president of Def Jam South. In the time since he was named to be the president of the label, he has had Southern hip hop being the only thing keeping the label alive. Imagine if Khaled had permission to venture out and work with other artists in bringing them to the Def Jam label, overall.

One would think that Def Jam would hire someone within the label to be promoted to the label head. If that is the case, the most qualified person and the person with the best track record is DJ Khaled. Will Khaled take over as CEO of Def Jam?

In a recent interview with rollingout.com, Rick Ross’ group Triple C’s, also known as Carol City Cartel, called out KRS-One and whether or not Hip Hop is dead.

Torch, one third of the Florida based group stated “You notice it’s the people that always say ‘Hip Hop is dead,’ that ain’t got no [money].”

“To top it all off, it’s like, Hip Hop is dead but when they had their run, the same people that say these things, they be in pictures with AK’s, they forget all that now. You need your track record, do your homework and the same record that people are pointing their fingers, you gotta realize, every time you point your finger, the other four are pointing right back at you,” he added.

While Torch was explaining this during the interview, Gunplay interrupted, calling out KRS-One’s most esteemed album. “Criminal Minded,” he laughed while sarcastically coughing.

“You gotta understand what’s going on. So at the end of the day, I ain’t with the finger pointing and the other four pointing back at you, but at the end of the day, music is music. You stay in your genre of music,” Torch continued.

Earlier this year, KRS-One targeted Triple C’s label for the destruction of Hip Hop music. “Def Jam is the dopest label in Hip Hop, in the culture of Hip Hop,” he explained in an interview with XXL. “There really would be no Hip Hop as we know it today if it wasn’t for Def Jam. But you don’t get that respect without also being the label that single-handedly destroyed Hip Hop… Every time you think of what’s wrong with Hip Hop, the lyrics, the commercialized music, one artist being played on the radio all day, things like that, that’s all Def Jam,” he asserted.

Triple C’s released their first studio album, titled Custom Cars & Cycles earlier this year on Maybach Music Group/Def Jam. The fifteen track album features appearance by Gucci Mane, Bun B, Game, Birdman and more. Custom Cars & Cycles sold 12,100 units in the opening week

These three tracks tend in completely different directions, but have one thing in common: an incredible vibe !

In one corner, we have the block / trap banger Fed Up by Dj Khaled, Usher, Drake, Young Jeezy, Rick Ross and Lil Wanye. In the other corner we have that future / retro soul banger Blockin’ by Usher and in the third corner we have a jazzy blues tune by Alicia Keys, called Dreaming.

Let’s start with Fed Up: Dj Khaled is known for bringing together artists you wouldn’t think of – but he is a guarantee for hot bangers !

Mr. Khaled Khaled (yes, that’s his real name !) is the Dj for the group Terror Squad and hosts his own radio show on WEDR.

He is mostly know for the hit singles “I’m so hood“, “Taking Over” and “Out Here Grindin“. He has released 3 albums yet: Listennn…the album (2006), We the best (2007),We global (2008) and he is about to bring his next one Vicotry in 2010.

Dj Khaled Featuring Usher, Drake, Young Jeezy, Rick Ross & Lil Wayne – Fed Up

The next one is Dreaming by Ms. Keys.

She is the girlfriend of Swizz Beats and was discovered by an appearance on the Cosby Show at the age of 4 !

See what Wikipedia writes about the young artist:

Keys has a vocal range of a contralto, which spans three octaves. Critics have called her voice strong, raw and impassioned; others feel that her voice is “emotionally manufactured”.

So let’s not talk for ages but get into the mood of that sweet voice:

Alicia Keys – Dreaming

The final stage is Mr. Usher Raymond IV with his new track Blockin’.

You know him from one of the 21.5 million albums he sold or one of his hit singles, like Confessions Part 2, Burn, Caught Up etc.

He will release his next album Raymond vs. Raymond on December 8th 2009.

Check this track, produced by Tricky Steward & Jazze Pha !

It has been ten years since Southern rappers first took over the game. The South has had a strangle

It has been ten years since Southern rappers first took over the game. The South has had a strangle hold on hip hop for some time. But, without DJ Khaled, the South would have fallen off five years ago. DJ Khaled has a lot of connections with Southern rappers and Southern producers. He is partnered with Fat Joe, so he has exposure.

DJ Khaled has been instrumental in the careers of Flo Rida, Plies, and Rick Ross. Of all of the Southern rappers, these three are getting the most airplay. Before they hooked up with DJ Khaled, though, they were nothing more than regular men trying to make it as rappers.

Ever since the demise of Death Row Records, the West Coast has been in trouble. There are plenty of aspiring rappers on the West Coast, but there is not a person that can unite them all together for a big album and it receive mainstream attention. What West Coast hip hop lacks is someone able and willing to help the genre grow.

There is not a person like DJ Khaled out there, helping to create posse cuts for the West Coast’s up-and-coming. If someone would take the time, the West Coast would take over. The West Coast needs a DJ Khaled.
