Je ne sais même pas par où commencer tant le concept est dingue. Parce que jusqu’à présent, Dieu régnait partout sauf sur Internet, Islam Online propose un pèlerinage numérique à tous ceux qui redoutent la grippe A, qui n’ont pas réussi à obtenir leur droit d’entrée sur cette Terre Sainte ou qui lisent le Coran sur leur netbook. Pèlerinage réalisé via Second Life, univers virtuel en 3D, et exemple même du buzz mort né et de la fausse révolution qui a affolé les publicitaires et les médias pendant une demie journée (en bref, le pendant technologique de la Tecktonik).

Il est donc désormais possible d’accomplir l’un des 5 piliers de l’Islam tout en restant confortablement assis devant son ordinateur (l’écran tourné vers l’Est quand même, faut pas abuser), le tout au rythme de “Just Be“, morceau techno de DJ Tiesto. De la djelabbah au bonnet blanc, en passant par le tapis de prière pixélisé, tout est fourni au pèlerin 2.0 pour son Hajj virtuel. Alright, at first, I was real skeptical of this song. But the more I listen to it, the more I like it.

What is the difference between a writer and someone who wants to write?

As the story goes (and you can find a version of this story in any writer’s blog and/or magazine), the would be writer has a great idea for a book, which has simmered in the back of his/hers mind for years but has never written it, while the true writer has written a boat load of them and is working on a new magnum opus even as we speak.

Or not.

You see, one thing that writers, especially the published ones….

Really don’t talk about is about that one book they always wanted to write but have yet written. Some how the moment you pen, (or type, stab, ink, whatever) a book, any book, the epic dream that was the One True Novel they were going to write gets tossed and locked inside the dusty trunk somewhere in the writer’s mental backspace, where in it becomes an impromptu tea table over which the imaginary versions of Freud and Jung discuss the writer’s troubled childhood dreams.

Why is that?

I think it has to do with the transition from aspiring writer to true writer/author. Real writers are defined by the books they have written (and authors by the ones the published) not the works they could have, should have or would have written. It seems childish, if not unprofessional (and impudent) to talk about the things you would want to do as opposed to the things you are doing now or have already done.

I mean, why hasn’t the writer written (the writ of words which we wrote….) I mean done it already?

Or is it that we, as writers, don’t want to admit that a part of us still retains the uncertainty of those days when we too thought about writing but never did? As if somehow we have exorcised that part of ourselves by actually doing what we wanted to do in the first place and there is no need (or want) to go back to the days of indecision and doubt.

I don’t know.

All I know is that I am a writer, and I still have a lot of stories stored in the back of my mind that someday I will write.

No shame in that.

Tenho que confessar a vocês, amigos (ou seja, estou no lugar certo), que esse nome: David Guetta significa “A FESTA”!

O local estava cheio de pessoas bonitas, uma perfeita estrutura de palco, som e iluminação, além de um ótimo atendimento de bar, com bebidas geladas e sem fila, equipe de atendimento médico, policiamento, evitando assim quaisquer inconveniências.

Foi uma grande confraternização, pois a idade foi um fator que não fez a diferença, sem contar que até “São Pedro” colaborou, pois ontem havia simplesmente um sol maravilho esperando o astro.

David, que na cabeça dos goianos tocaria apenas por 45 minutos, e que  ao chegar, já surpreendeu a todos com sua simpatia e permaneceu no palco, “pirem” por duas horas e meia com suas músicas de altíssima qualidade não deixando ninguém ficar parado.

A galera dançou, cantou, vibrou em um dia mágico para todos ali presentes.

Oakland Raiders Examiner Patrick Patterson

Former Oakland Raider tight end Teyo Johnson was stabbed during a DJ Tiesto concert yesterday. According to a report from Nationalpost.com, had the stab wound been a few centimeters higher, he likely would have been killed.  He has since rejoined the team, but will not be participating in their CFL Western Division playoff game tomorrow.

Johnson was originally drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the second round of the 2003 draft out of Stanford with the intention of being converted from a wide out to a tight end. He found himself in the doghouse early, and never did find a spot in Oakland, being released after his second season. In two years as a Raider he played in 24 games starting six. In those two years, he only had 23 catches and three touchdowns. After part of a season in Arizona, Johnson was out of the NFL. He is currently playing in Canada for the Calgary Stampeders.

Calgary fullback stabbed at concert

Service Calgary’s Teyo Johnson says he didn’t realize he had been stabbed until a police officer told him. He says despite the injury, he is not ruling out playing in tomorrow’s playoff game.

At first, Teyo Johnson did not realize just how close he’d been to losing his life.

The Calgary Stampeders fullback was in an altercation during the DJ Tiesto concert early yesterday morning in Calgary, and was speaking to police officers who had been called to the scene to break up the fight at about 1:30 a.m.

“I didn’t even know I got stabbed until the cops got there,” Johnson said yesterday afternoon. “One officer showed me my blood on his hand and said, ‘Hey, you’ve been stabbed.’

“[Medical staff at Foothills Hospital] told me another centimetre or two and I would be dead. Luckily it hit my hip bone and went up about eight centimetres instead of straight through into my intestine.”

Suffice to say, Johnson missed yesterday’s Stampeders practice, the final full workout in advance of tomorrow’s Canadian Football League West Division semi-final with the Edmonton Eskimos. Stampeders coach and general manager John Hufnagel said Johnson was “very doubtful” to play tomorrow. Rob Cote would get the start in his place.

“I did speak with Teyo this morning after I found out about it and we had a very quick conversation, basically pertaining to his health and well-being. He should be fine,” said Hufnagel.

Johnson, 27, spent the night in hospital before heading home to recuperate with a handful of stitches in his back keeping the wound closed.

“I feel fine, man, I really do,” he said. “I feel like I could play on Sunday; it’s going to be Huff’s decision, but I really feel like if I recover like I know I can recover, I wouldn’t rule myself out.”

Nearly 3,000 people were at the concert and after the altercation, the crowd scattered, revealing one man who was bleeding, said duty inspector Rob Williams.

“He didn’t even realize he was stabbed it happened so fast,” said Williams, adding police still are not certain what Johnson’s involvement was.

Police seized a folding knife at the scene.

The culprit has not been found.

“We have not arrested anybody at this point. We have no suspects still.”

In his second season with the Stampeders, Johnson has made 18 catches for 172 yards and three touchdowns, while providing key blocks for the CFL’s top-ranked rushing offence.

Johnson said the time spent in the Foothills Hospital emergency ward was sobering.

“I’m really thankful, first and foremost, to the paramedics and the Foothills Hospital staff for mending the wound so quickly and stopping the blood flow,” he said. “As far as football goes, yeah, it does put stuff in perspective. I had some time to sit there and think about stuff, and it’s definitely a very humbling experience.

“Everybody has been really good and showed a lot of concern, which was touching. Coach Huff called me right away, and it reminds you that you’re on a team of good people.”
