]]> <![CDATA[CENTURY 21 Recap - Part 1]]> http://devoralibin.wordpress.com/2011/10/12/century-21-recap-part-1/ Wed, 12 Oct 2011 16:50:09 +0000 devoralibinjewels http://devoralibin.wordpress.com/2011/10/12/century-21-recap-part-1/ So yesterday I ventured over to the west side to check out the NEW Century 21, Broadway bt 66 & 67.  I walked out my door and stepped right onto the crosstown bus (so easy and part of the reason this was such an amazing experience).  I have to tell you about my bus ride first though – I swear it was like I was Carrie in an episode of SATC.  First, I have to mention my outfit.  I was wearing denim cut off shorts, Chaser LA t-shirt and DV booties – that my doorman calls “Timberlands” and obviously a wrist full of DLJ – so needless to say I was looking pretty cute ;) .

Anyway, I get on the bus put in my metro card only to find that I only have $.60.  I dont even know how much the bus is these days, its $2.25 if you were wondering, but the driver informs me I owe her more money and they only accept change!  The bus starts to move and I’m scrounging through my bag trying to find change.  Thank god I had it or I really don’t know what would have happened.  This might sound dramatic but it would have been more dramatic if she kicked me off the bus!  Mean while this whole time a boy (shall remain nameless) is texting me apologizing for literally scaring me away on our second date last night.

I get off the bus at 66 and Columbus (10 minutes later), cross the street and walk into heaven.  I literally said to the security chick “I am so excited to be here I will totally come back and show you what I got!” – She was actually really excited and didn’t look at me like I was crazy.   1st floor – handbags and other accessories, we will leave this for last.  Up to the second floor to women’s.  Wow!  I died.  I felt like I was a child in a candy store – I wanted to jump up and down (and in my head I did).  First stop – Halston Heritage – I died again.  It was at this point I called my best friend Allegra and was like you need to get over here now.  She couldn’t but she was totally jealous ;) .  So Halston Heritage, DVF, J Brand, Alice & Olivia, and that was just one section (obviously, I’m leaving so much out).

Factory by Erik Hart dress

Fitting room time.  I have 3 Heritage dresses, a Factory by Erik Hart dress and a Jill Stuart Collection wool coat (side note, apparently they don’t let you bring coats into the fitting room now).  Heritage dresses too big :( , Factory dress looked good (need it for wedding) but to me it was “just” a black dress – like I don’t know that I could actually see myself re-wearing it and would totally just be settling (PS – I got it just in case, I told you I’m indecisive and thank god for their ‘Devora friendly’ return policy).

Jill Stuart Coat

So, Jill Stuart coat – 100% wool (perfect) cinches beyond belief at waist – I have a really small one so I like to accentuate it ;) – it was sort of a no brainer that it was being purchased.

Did a second look around (you know, for shits and giggles in case I missed anything the first time around  in my state of euphoria) and this time really tried to focus on finding a dress for this wedding.  Found this Sretsis masterpiece and thought to myself now wouldn’t this be funny – it was actually sort of amazing though.

Also found this INCREDIBLE Religion leather jacket but it was a large, obviously.  It had studs and spikes and rhinestones (totally up my alley) and said ‘FAITH’ in spikes on the ass.  It was a pretty special piece.

]]> <![CDATA[RENT THE RUNWAY TO THE RESCUE]]> http://devoralibin.wordpress.com/2011/10/10/rent-the-runway-to-the-rescue/ Mon, 10 Oct 2011 14:55:19 +0000 devoralibinjewels http://devoralibin.wordpress.com/2011/10/10/rent-the-runway-to-the-rescue/ I have my cousin’s wedding in two weeks and I need to find a dress ASAP.  My best friend suggested I try using Rent The Runway.  I have heard about it but was always too hesitant to try it.  She has convinced me I should definitely try it.  I have to say it is actually a lot of fun.  You put in the dates you need the dress and your size and it shows you a bazillion dresses that you can borrow.  Amazing designers and current stuff also!  So because the wedding is not black tie it was a little harder for me to decide.  I think I have decided to go with this Tibi ‘High Tea Dress’.

I’m literally the most indecisive person (typical Libra) so making this decision was a little hard, especially since I wont get the dress until the day before I leave for the wedding.  I also LOVE the necklace she is wearing and am looking forward to putting my own DLJ spin on a piece to go with the dress.  Looking forward to taking pictures in the dress with new DEVORA LIBIN JEWELS (which will be for sale shortly after).  The only thing left to tackle is the perfect pair of +4″ heels ;)
