Few weeks ago, I bought an iPhone from Dialog(One of the main Mobile Service Providers in SriLanka). It comes with one year warranty from Dialog. And surprisingly its unlocked.  So soon after that I realized that it could not have been backed by Apple. It costs really high exactly 89000 SLR (less than 900US$). And main reason that people go for Apple products I think is about Apple’s one to one replacement warranty. So I doubt whether my iPhone from Dialog has that warranty. And about the phone, its a genuine iPhone you could update iPhone OS with iTunes. Play with all cool Objective-C iPhone apps from the device.

Last week I was able to contact a lady from DMS, she has confirmed me that no one in SriLanka is officially allowed to sell iPhones yet. And DMS is currently the official Apple representatives in SriLanka. But for the moment I was told that they only sell Mac computer stuff only. So I am just writing this post to let you guys know about there are still NO official iPhone dealers in SriLanka. What I mean is you don’t need to go to Dialog to buy an iPhone since they are also not officially allowed to sell iPhones.

Ein Dokument will man wiederfinden. Also muss man für jedes Dokument zumindest die Indexdaten erfassen, nach denen man suchen will. Meist nimmt man noch ein paar Kerninformationen des Dokumentes hinzu, damit man sich in möglichst vielen Fällen gleich das Öffnen des Dokumentes erspart.
Das Indizieren ist ein nicht zu unterschätzender Aufwand. Ein Aufwand, der um so mehr schmerzt, als man ihn vor der Einführung des DMS gar nicht hatte. (Natürlich hatte man damals noch viel mehr Zeit im Archivkeller verbracht – aber Unangenehmes verdrängt man ja schnell!)
Da Indizieren definitiv nicht zur Kernkompetenz eines Unternehmens zählt, ist die Frage berechtigt: Soll man das Indizieren nicht außer Haus machen lassen?
Wer ausschließlich indiziert, hat mehr Übung und ist so schneller. Der Dienstleister zahlt womöglich Gehälter, bei denen man selbst rot werden würde – aber das muss man dann nicht vor dem eigenen Betriebsrat vertreten. Wenn meine Dokumente immer weitgehend gleich aussehen (Formulare, Rechnungen etc.) unterstützt den Dienstleister ein Capturing-System, das für meine Belege allein zu teuer wäre. Auch dadurch kann der Dienstleister günstiger sein, als die eigenen Angestellten.
Das klingt zumindest so gut, dass es lohnt entsprechende Angebote einzuholen. Dabei sollte man auch bei der örtlichen Behindertenwerkstätte nachfragen, die diese Dienstleistung evtl. in exzellenter Qualität anbietet.
Bei aller Euphorie muss man aber vorab einige organisatorische Entscheidungen treffen. Und da wird es schnell kompliziert. Zu klären ist: Wer scannt? Wer wird Dokumente mit Scanfehlern erneut scannen und wie lange dauert das dann? Bringt der Dienstleister Irrläufe-Briefe selbst zur Post? Wer prüft die Qualität der Indizierung? Inwieweit haftet der Dienstleister für Fehler? etc.
Man kann also durchaus extern indizieren lassen, wenn man nicht blauäugig vorgeht. Meist entscheiden sich DMS-Anwender aber nur bei Altakten für externe Dienstleister.

I have done a lot of writing about spam DMs or Direct Messages on Twitter recently and it may sound as if I don’t like to get DMs at all. Nothing could be further from the truth! I just adore DMs and prefer them to email, truth be told. Surprised? Don’t be!

The DM is a private conversation. It is ideal for people who have very little time and/or short attention span with its limited character set. A big “up side” to having limited characters is that it can force someone to get to the point, be concise and stay focused.

I used to write long, rambling emails. I used to enjoy reading them from others, too, but I simply do not have time for that luxury anymore. I spend most of my email time battling spam. It takes more time to sift email now and I do not enjoy sifting. It is my own fault since I should use a separate account for those purposes, but I digress.

TweetVisor makes me so happy, I could sing!

I always have TweetVisor up, so I can usually see DMs as they come in and reply instantly whenever I am online. TweetVisor shows everything all at once on one page, so I see my public @replies, too. This saves a TON of energy and effort, plus it allows me to be very speedy in my communications. Most of the time, an @reply on Twitter is great for both parties, lending exposure for both parties and the chance for new followers, but sometimes the conversation goes deeper or gets more involved or personal. How do I know when to take it to DM?

• When you send your email address or other private information, take it to DM.

• When you’re in an involved conversation and exchanged multiple messages that really concern no one else, take it to DM.

• When it would be impossible to follow or jump into the conversation, take it to DM.

• When you want to flirt for real, take it to DM. (Caution, you may get blocked! But that’s the same as real life, isn’t it?)

• When the information you’d like to impart is very specifically for that one person, take it to DM.

• When the subject is private information, take it to DM.

• When sending a link someone requests that you have already tweeted within the past 4 hours, send it via DM to avoid being thrown out of search. (see my article about search for more information)

• When you feel the need to use off-color language, in general, take it to DM.

• If you feel the need to say something negative, keep it out of your stream and take it to DM. (Avoid)

• When contacting customer support or Twitter support about a sensitive subject or complaint, don’t be rude and embarrass the company in an @reply, take it to DM.

DMs are like whispers...

Basically, an @reply or tweet is a shout out and a DM is a whisper. Whatever is said in DM is not general knowledge and should never be shared with someone else. You should never post the contents of a DM or tell someone else the contents of a DM. That is a trust violator that is not easily, if ever, overcome. Don’t overuse the DM, either, or your important messages may not be seen due to an onslaught of automatic DMs, frivolous flirtations and True Twit DM messages clogging the column. Master the art of the DM and it will simplify many areas of your electronic life!

Mañana por fín será el gran día de la celebración de la caída de unos de los muros de la vergüenza que el ser humano ha construído a lo largo de la historia (aún queda algú que otro por el mundo).  ¡Felicidades a Alemania y a todo el mundo!

Ahora es el momento de mirar hacia el este y ver cuán maravilloso puede ser ese país; es hora de que empecemos a poner en la balanza a Mozart, Beethoven, Goethe, Schiller,…y tantos  que “pesan” mucho más que otros que sólo estuvieron unos años.

Even i had the same doubt, I googled it to know that its Discrete Mathematics (technology maga ) believed to be one of the toughest subject (but our teacher made us realize its just a myth )
Its handled by Mr.Mallikarjun(popularly known as Bingo sir), a 21st century Gandhian (i wish to see him in the currency notes soon ).He deserves a Noble prize for the peace and love he is spreading in our College.
This guy is so nervous during the lecture that he starts sweating continuously (even if its Antarctica he will start sweating ).

I was taken back when i came to know that he is our Maths HOD.HOD’s are meant to be strict but this dude is completely different.He is very very veryyyyy sweet,calm cool and composed.He doesn’t lose his cool often,but at times he does but we don’t take him seriously
He is probably the only teacher who uses “Please(Flease actually ) don’t talk”.
He understands why we attend class ATTENDANCE! but  we don’t feel like bunking his class because no matter you sit in canteen or in class its the same!(the only difference being you wait for samosas in the former and you wait for solutions in the latter ).

Apart from DMS he has helped us to improve our multitasking skills! If one could complete lab records,listen songs,message friends and at the same time take down all those problems+diagrams credit goes to him!
Its surprising that now a days all the students are very much into DMS class.
And the worst thing many have doubts(how on earth could they listen to DMS class?? Its a shame!).

We sometimes are moved by his patience and peaceful nature and decide to keep ourselves silent thinking “Impossible is nothing” that’s when we play some songs from our cell phones (mostly linkin park songs) to spread peace and make everyone happy . He knows that we are playing songs, but still pretends to be sweet. While playing songs, I can see him singing in his mind ‘Easier to run’ song which goes like this,
“It’s easier to run
Replacing this pain with something numb
It’s so much easier to go
Than face all this pain here all alone” .
Despite of all these he still has hopes on us that we will change and says he will handle our class even the next sem and we wish for the same .

We have solid fun in his class and that’s one of the reason why we attend DMS class regularly!

Desiccators are sealable enclosures containing desiccants used for preserving moisture-sensitive items. A common use for desiccators is to protect chemicals or materials which are hygroscopic or which react with water from humidity.

El 9 de noviembre se cumplirán 20 años de la caída del Muro de Berlín…¡20 años!  Cómo pasa el tiempo, ¿verdad?  Aquel acontecimiento supuso una bocanada de aire puro para muchos alemanes y para los que, por aquella época, empezábamos a sumergirnos en la cultura germana.  Yo lo recuerdo de una manera muy especial:  estaba en la Facultad de Filología, en el aula 103, creo, esperando a la profesora de Historia, Bettina se llamaba.  Empezamos a preocuparnos cuando pasaba el tiempo y veíamos que no llegaba.  De repente, la vimos a lo lejos por los pasillos de la Fábrica de Tabaco, corriendo y gritando ¡EL MURO HA CAIDO!  Nos imaginamos que algún muro de alguna clase se había caído y por eso ella corría desesperada, pero no, era algo mejor: la libertad había llegado por fin a Europa…o eso creíamos.
