I would give credit to whoever  the hell had the patience to collect all these and take a picture of them because it’s pretty awesome, but alas, the photos had no credit. Web 2.0 vs. Web 1.0 The tale of these two Webs is best told once we understand the meaning, importance and the differences between the following key words for each of the two versions of the web:

 * Communities * Content * Communication *Conversations

 Communities: Humans are social creature and associating with a ‘tribe’ is a very basic instinct for most of us. We identify ourselves by the places where we were born or live, schools we attended, religious beliefs we practice, professions organization we belong to, companies we work for and a whole slew of such groupings. The groups can be professional or personal and everything in between. Web 1.0 was very informational centric and did not include the community aspect. It did not foster any sense of community, the sense of belonging. So in a sense Web 1.0 did very little to address one of the very basic human nature

 Content: Content is king. However not all kings are created equals, there are emperors, kings and chiefs. Similarly all content is not created equal. In content world, one of the biggest differentiator is content creator. In the world of Web 1.0, because of the inherent cost related to content publishing and distribution, content was locked-up to the few. For example corporate marketing defined all out bound messaging. However, within any industry, groups or company there are leaders and experts, example company CTO or somebody who is an influencer in your group. Their voice and opinions are important to a more targeted group. The third type of content is the idle chat between friends, or a water cooler talk between co-workers, think Facebook. People have various personas, and there is place for all these types of conversation in each person’s life.

 Whereas Web 1.0 was mostly for the first persona of content creators, Web 2.0 covers all types of content. In the Web 2.0 world, Wikipedia replaced Encyclopedias, Corporate Wiki replaced the intranet and your LinkedIn post of “Tell your network what you are doing” and IM status replaced the Post-it notes of “Do not disturb” sign outside the cubicle.

 Communication: Communication is a two way dialog. In the real world it happens top down, bottom up, and sideways. The first version of the web was top down, talk only as it had no listen capability. In a sense it allowed for a very uninteresting monolog. Web 2.0 is about two way communication, it is about a dialog.

 It put people and their communities in the center of all the dialogs. In the first incarnation of the web, this interaction was left to the physical world. Communication is about collaboration and conversations. It is about linking, sharing and interacting. Web 2.0 provided a platform to do all of this.

 With so much content and so many conversations and no moderator, the problem of information overload became even more acute. Web 2.0 addressed this problem with a unique ‘wisdom of the crowds’ who provide the moderation by ‘following on twitter’, rating and ranking associated with both the content providers and their content. Comments, bookmarks, ‘..also bought’ (at Amazon), thumbs-up/ down, defined the features that link between relevant content to their communities and allowed them to have a meaningful conversation.

 What role has Web 2.0 played in giving rise to the era of blogging and to social networking?

 Some of the key Web 2.0 technologies include

 *Social Networking site

 *Wikis, Blogs & Micro blog

 *Mash-ups, Video and Podcast

 There are five specific business objectives of most communication — to listen, to talk, to energize, to support, and to embrace. Individuals and companies are using Web 2.0 technologies to communicate with their customers, business partners, employees and their industry groups. Blogging and Social networking are two of the more widely adopted Web 2.0 technologies.

 Often time, the users for these tools are viewed as outside of the company, but the audience can very likely be your employees too. Initial adoption of these technologies was done by companies trying to sell directly to the consumer, but companies that have traditionally sold to the Fortune 2000 or to SMB are also starting to adopt ways to bring these tools into their portfolio. The initial adopters of these tools were people who were in the front end of the sales and marketing, but now applications are being developed that are using these tools to support internal and backend processes. Imagine the CEO of a company who wants to engage in ‘chat dialog’ with thousands of employees. Think of the CTO who wants to communicate his product/ architecture vision to the engineers while including constructive feedback from his entire team. These tools are the enablers of these conversations.

 So how has the rise of Web 2.0 affected business and changed the way people work.

 Web 2.0 is still in its infancy within most organizations. However it has the prospect of changing how marketing departments engages with prospects and customers, how product managers interact with internal and external stake holders, how hiring and recruitment is done, how training is delivered, or how customer support performs their activities today. For example, it is not uncommon that marketing updates their websites once a quarter or every six months with messages that are very carefully crafted but that is totally gibberish to most. It does not have to happen that way. There is no reason why training departments should only conduct instructor led courses that are conducted at prescheduled times that are inconvenient to all and topics that are relevant to few.

 Where is the web 2.0 heading

 The future is hard to predict. However, some places where Web 2.0 is most like to go next could be..

 •Adoption of these tools within the enterprise. Companies shall start using these constructs to reduce the friction and increase the speed in how work is done. Some have labeled this as ‘Enterprise 2.0’. Today integration of the corporate tools such as email, documents etc. is missing. Addressing issues such as security, compliance, would be important before these tools get wider acceptance within enterprise.

 •Web 2.0 is very text oriented today. Video, animation, audio, mobile smart phones are some fairly unexplored areas in the web 2.0 world.

 •So far Web 2.0 is mostly about free to consumers. Rise of the private club, where members pay to participate or pay for premium services, B2B services is another area that is relatively unexplored.

Le Loup Garou

L’appuntamento è per sabato 7 novembre al Kingston di San Nicola La Strada. Ci saranno Le Loup Garou, storica e seminale band partenopea, sghemba ed indefinibile. Sarà la prima serata messa in piedi dal Mu.Ma, Music Management, nata dalle ceneri della Do Not Disturb.

Fino alla scorsa stagione, la Do Not Disturb portava tanta musica live a Caserta e provincia. Caffè del Centro, Kingston e tanti altri locali ospitavano i numerosi concerti organizzati (sempre qualitativamente alti) e la capacità di spaziare dal rock al folk a 360 gradi. Quest’anno si rinnova: nuovo nome e formazione con Fabio Cardone, Claudio Nasti e Serena Caraviglio e progetti fino all’anno prossimo.

Il concerto inaugurale sarà il prossimo 7 novembre al Kingston, numero 17 di via Appia. Ci saranno Le Loup Garou, “lupi mannari” che non smettono mai di stupire con le loro sonorità franco-rock. Ingresso a 5 euro, consumazione inclusa.

Last night I hung a sign on my door that said Napping….Shhhhhhh….

I got in bed at 6 PM, I got out at 6 AM. Of course I had to let Zeke in and out many times, etc…..but I did get some much needed rest.

Yesterday was dreary. All of us involved in the “excitement” here at the apartment were sick and depressed and sore and blah. All those chemical insults plus the emotional toll of being around bad stuff wore us out.

I woke up to my tongue so swollen it took up most of my mouth space, a very sore throat and my lungs full of crud. My chest and lungs hurt bad all day yesterday. If there was more last night, I slept through it. I was soooooooo mentally and physically tired! I still am.

While Beth and Luc were here in the afternoon, a very owie and weird thing happened to me. The veins at my left wrist popped out huge, hurt like heck and got HOT. Beth was surprised how hot. Then a few minutes later, the veins at my right temple popped out. Soon after I could feel the veins inside my throat on the right side do the same thing. Geeze! I’m not talking something minor. That was freaky and hurt like you cannot imagine! It was then gone as quickly as it came.

Now that it’s finally getting light out, I can see the snow better. Yesterday morning we had those bouncy round snowballs coming down. This morning it’s regular ol’ snow.  Hello winter!

Proseguimos nuestro repaso sobre qué series americanas de la temporada televisiva recién terminada se emiten en España y a través de qué canales. Hoy veremos la CBS, de la que nos han llegado ya casi todas sus series, sobre todo a través de laSexta y AXN, las cuales comparten con CBS el gusto por los procedimentales.

-CSI, CSI: Miami y CSI: NY. La franquicia de forenses más famosa sigue acaparando la noche de los lunes de Telecinco. La versión Nueva York va por la temporada 4 y la de Miami por la 7, pero la de Las Vegas no sabría decir hasta donde han emitido ya. Por pago puede verse en AXN, con un ritmo más cercano al americano.
- Sin rastro. Otra que lleva varias temporadas viéndose en nuestro país, en concreto en Antena 3, aunque con peores resultados que las sagas de ‘CSI’. Su séptima y última temporada se estrenó en prime time con discretos resultados, por lo que fue retirada. En cambio en el late night ha consechado mejores resultados. Al igual que CSI y otros procedimentales, el canal de pago que la emite es AXN.
- El mentalista. Ha sido el mejor estreno para CBS y también para laSexta, quien la emitió completa en abierto en nuestro país. Además, se vio en TNT por pago, cadena estrenará en proximamente la segunda temporada de la serie en VOSE.
- La hora 11. También laSexta compró esta serie, aunque no ha tenido el mismo éxito que la anterior. Ya se emitió toda la primera y única temporada. Por pago la emitió en FOX.
- Caso abierto. Otro procedimental más para laSexta. En sus inicios fue vista por TVE sin éxito, hasta que esta temporada la compró la otra cadena. Primero se repuso en las tardes y ahora se ve en prime time su sexta temporada. Curiosamente también se emite en Fox pero en este caso la emisión en abierto adelantó a la de pago.
- Numb3rs. Seguimos con laSexta. Al igual que ‘Caso abierto’, la cadena rescató a esta serie, en este caso de Antena 3, y tras reponerla por las tardes, ahora la emite en prime time con modestos resultados. Por pago la emite el canal Calle 13. Ambos canales emiten la 4ª temporada.
- Entre Fantasmas. Es una de las series más vistas de Cuatro y ya se ha hecho un hueco entre el público español. FOX ya emitió entera su cuarta temporada primero, y después Cuatro hizo lo propio, acabando el pasado jueves. Cuatro emitió la temporada en dos tandas, teniendo que parar por acercarse demasiado al ritmo de emisión de USA.
- Cómo conocía a vuestra madre. Otra de CBS en laSexta, aunque esta vez una sitcom. Emitida de madrugada como “serie de culto”, probó suerte con su cuarta temporada en un horario mejor, antes de ‘Sé lo que hicisteis…’, pero no enganchó a la audiencia. También es FOX quien la emite por pago.
- Worst week. Esta nueva comedia no consiguió mucho éxito, por lo que ya ha sido cancelada tras su primera temporada. En España se ha visto por pago en Paramount Comedy, y Telecinco ha anunciado que la emitirá, aunque aún no se sabe cuándo.
- Dos hombres y medio. La comedia más vista de EE.UU. no tiene, ni de lejos, el mismo éxito aquí. Se emite con pobres resultados en La2, y por pago en TNT quien emite su sexta temporada.
- The big bang theory. Esta sitcom, del creador de ‘Dos hombres y medio’ ya es un éxito consolidado en USA, aunque aquí tampoco despega. La primera temporada empezó emitiéndose en Neox y después dio el salto a Antena 3 con poco éxito. Por cable la emite TNT, que va por la segunda tanda.
- Flashpoint. Esta coproducción de la CBS con la canadiense CTV fue adquirida por Antena 3 para emitirla en su canal de TDT, Neox, donde ocupó el prime time de los martes. Recientemente ha dado el salto al canal principal, donde se emite los miércoles en horario de late night.
- Las aventuras de Christine. Esta comedia protagonizada por Julia Louis-Dreyfus pasa bastante desapercibida, en nuestro país no se ha visto en abierto, pero sí por pago mediante Canal+, quien sólo ofreció las dos primeras temporadas.
- The Unit. Otra serie de CBS cuyos derechos tiene laSexta. Comenzó a emitir esta temporada en prime time, pero después la pasó al late night ya que sus resultados no eran muy buenos. Por pago se vio en Fox, donde se emitió hasta la tercera temporada.
- Navy, investigación criminal. Y otra más para laSexta, aunque esta ha tenido mejor suerte que la anterior. Sus resultados en prime time son aceptables y las reposiciones por la tarde son de lo mejor del daytime de la cadena. En laSexta se está emitiendo la temporada número seis. En el cable, es la cadena AXN quien posee los derechos.
- Mentes criminales. Esta serie, una de las más exitosas de CBS se puede ver, al igual que CSI, en Telecinco y AXN. La cadena de pago ha llegado ya hasta la quinta temporada.
- Las reglas del compromiso. Aunque en abierto no se ha visto esta comedia, por pago Paramount Comedy ha emitido hasta la tercera temporada.
- Harper’s Island. Fue uno de los chascos de la temporada pasada tanto a nivel de expectativas como de audiencias. En España la está emitiendo LaSiete en prime time aunque el piloto se preestrenó en Telecinco.
- Todos mis novios. Aun habiendo sido un fracaso que se retiró de parrilla a los pocos capítulos, la serie ‘The Ex-List’ grabó una temporada completa de 13 episodios. Estos no se emitieron en CBS pero sí en España, a través del canal FOX.

Las que no han llegado. Pese a haber conseguido la renovación para una segunda temporada, la nueva sitcom ‘Gary Unmarried’ no ha interesado a ningún canal en abierto ni de pago. Tampoco ha sido comprada, aunque en su caso es más lógico, la fallida sitcom ‘Do not disturb’.

A rich business man ( Govinda) who is enjoying with his wife (Sushmita Sen)’s  money, falls for a super model Mistress (Lara Dutta). That super model’s ex boy friend (Sohail Khan) who is still in love with her asks her tries to break their relation.

When wife suspects her husband, she asks her child hood friend who is also a private detective (Ranvir Shorey) to notice her husbands activities. Mean while another character (Ritesh Deshmukh) enters into these people lives.

David Dhawan has filled the entire movie with laughs.  He is ready to entertain audience once again along with his favorite hero Govinda. This movie success is very important to Sushmita Sen.
