Megavideo

Innanzitutto installiamo l’addon illimutux. Poi installiamo l’addon DownloadHelper. Fatto ciò siamo a metà dell’opera!

MOVstreaming

Megavideo Movies and TV Shows

Watch Free Movies Online

Streaming Bross

Watch New Film

WATCH Megavideo

Delhi Fun

Open Subtitles

Subtitles Source

SubtitleSeeker

All Subs

My Subtitles

Rapid Subs

Supponiamo che vogliamo rivedere il film “Tears of the Sun“.

Qualche appunto:

Ho utilizzato Totem perché altri (MPlayer, Gnome Player, VLC) mi davano qualche problema.

Buona visione a tutti!

Yesterday I had a doctor’s appointment and this one heifer/nurse got on my very last nerve. N

Yesterday I had a doctor’s appointment and this one heifer/nurse got on my very last nerve. Normally silly things like mispronouncing my name don’t bother me at all. I get it! My name may be difficult for anglophones to say, but yesterday was just absolutely grating. Going to the doctor’s office is never fun, and the decor didn’t help. Pale squash yellow walls, lavender and forest green trim, cheap and drab floral prints! Who in their right mind would ever put those together.

So you know the deal, you wait in the waiting room until some nurse calls you to the back. Well when my turn came it of course had to be the nurse that I dislike the most. Her tongue is just absolutely lazy. My name was too much trouble for this woman that it felt like she gave up half-way. “HAVE-YAR HERNDEEZ!” It was as if she had a meatball lodged in her throat, hell a whole loaf maybe. She did sound kinda winded.

Now it seems to me that if you are unsure of how to pronounce someone’s name, but have no choice but to say it, the courteous thing to do is to ask the person if it was pronounced correctly when he or she comes up. Nope she didn’t ask, as far as she knew she had said it correctly and probably felt proud of herself. I would have bothered to correct her but I have dealt with these kinds of people before. It’s futile. In fact I’m pretty sure I have corrected her once before (I have been coming to the doctor’s for like 8 months now). Those type of people don’t really give a damn and therefore any corrections would just go in one ear and out the other.

Again, normally I’m not bothered by such trivial things, it has happened many times before and will happen again. Like I said, it wasn’t my first visit there and I have encountered this heifer before and clearly spoken to her. We go to get my blood pressure and weight checked and she asks “Do you speak English?“. Strike 3…million for this heifer. Coupled with the mispronunciation of my name and now this seemingly idiotic question! Do you NOT remember the many many times I have spoken in the past 8 months COW! I wanted to say. Instead I let out a clearly annoyed and sharp response “Yes, quite fluently in fact.” These things shouldn’t bother me, but they did that day. I’ve been asked that question a million times but I was not in the mood yesterday.

I’m just reminded of the times when I was in elementary school when simple things such as name and ethnic appearance were enough to place me in ESL (English as a Second Language). By the time I started elementary school I was well versed in English even though it wasn’t spoken at my house. All thanks to wonderful television. But because of my name and because I was Hispanic I was placed in ESL, classes for people who didn’t speak a lick of English. After it was immediately apparent I didn’t belong there (I spoke good english and was passing all the tests with ease) I was correctly placed in the appropriate classes. Perhaps they didn’t place me there out of malicious intent, and I understand that, but it still left a bad taste in my mouth. How dare they underestimate me!

Things like that happened all the time in elementary school. One time in 5th grade, we had to memorize all the states and capitals and then have a test on them. I was the only one who got 100% on the test. A teacher’s aide lavished praise on my accomplishment but at the same time was racially insensitive. She said, “Wow you got them all right! And how long have you been in this country?” Was she surprised that I got them all correct because I shouldn’t have since I was a foreigner? Even though I was a United States Citizen. I remember quite well what I did after that. I simply said “I was born here.“, snatched the paper out of her hands and went to sit at my desk.

That’s what I should have told that portly nurse. “I was born here!”. But I let it slide. Why? Because I feel sorry for her. I feel sorry because she is like an obese gerbil that keeps running face first into a wall in it’s cage. That wall is ignorance. Eventually she will run into it hard enough that she will knock herself out. They always do.

And with this I release all the negative energy I felt yesterday in relation to the events at the doctor’s office. May it never bother me again. Good thing I was given a clean bill of health and no longer have to return!

Release.
