A dog incredibly managed to save his own life by dialing 911. George is a two-year-old Basset Hound in England and became tangled in the cord after knocking his family’s phone to the ground. As the pup panicked, he somehow managed to call for help — dialing the British equivalent of 911 — as he frantically tried to free himself. The emergency operator alerted police, who rushed to the residence. While it sure seems like a remarkable coincidence that George dialed the right digits….

I personally think that dogs are much smarter than we may really think. My dogs seem to truly understand what I say to them. I love how my oldest female Yorkie Priscilla ‘cocks her head’ as I speak to her, like she is acknowledging what I am saying, and that she understands! When I leave for work, I always tell my dogs, “I’ll be home soon…OK?” and all 3 dogs seem to nod their heads and remain chilled out!
