En esta ocasión su elección de vestuario es una de las piezas de Dolce & Gabbana Otoño-Invierno 2009-2010, que usó para un cócktail ofrecido or Swarovski en Londres.

The new D&G Time commercial features a threesome to advertise their new watches. D&G is always brilliant at presenting racy and controversial advertisements, all of which, successfully make me want a new D&G watch.

The watches featured in the new commercial are:

3. Ireland (Womens)

Damn, ShopNBC keeps surprising us with the premium goods it’s selling online.

First, it was Gucci and Tag Heuer watches. Now, it’s designer fragrances from luxury brands such as Gucci, Burberry, Bulgari, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Vera Wang and Versace, to just name a few.

These Web exclusive perfumes even include our fragrance of choice: Angel by Thierry Mugler.

We even got some information about the ingredients that make Angel so great: Bergamot, Hedione, Helional, Honey, Dewberry, Red Berries, Vanilla, Caramel, Patchouli, Chocolate and Coumarin.

We suspected food was part of Angel’s mix. How we love the amoma of vanilla, chocolate and caramel. It makes us good enough to eat.

“Angel, the first perfume by Thierry Mugler, evokes the emotion of tender childhood memories together with a sense of dreamlike infinity,” ShopNBC’s Web site says.

“Angel, which launched a new fragrance category called the ‘oriental gourmands,’ seduces us with angelic flavors found deep within the heart of our memories, as well as sensual and passionate notes. Style: Pure. Soft. Innocent.”

That’s us — pure, soft, innocent.

Yesterday in my Sociology 101 class, we did a class discussion on Gender, Sexuality, and Advertisements. And of course, if you remember Dolce & Gabbana was in the hot seat in 2007 for the ad which sources claim it depicts a “rape scene” or “rape”.

In my HONEST opinion, I do NOT see this advertisement depicting “rape” as everyone says.

Maybe I am blind but it doesn’t NOT depict RAPE!
Truthfully, look at the picture and tell me [in the comment box] everything you see.

MY OBSERVATIONS:
- the two models in the background; [the one fixing his collar and the guy wearing a white / black wifebeater], IS indirectly looking away from the action… so technically, they are NOT looking directly at the main two models where sources are claiming a “rape scene”…
- The male holding the wrists of the female…. I don’t see this “rape” concept…. Both her legs are leaning against the side of the guys hips. She is really displaying the shoes.

Truthfully, I am a FAN of Dolce & Gabbana and 80% of my wardrobe closet is Dolce & Gabbana. I adore their clothes and love their craftmanship. I don’t see anything wrong with this picture. And trust me, I’ve seen a lot of advertisements.

Honestly, I need your opinions.

Sex in Ads

Topshop came with a great idea: for just 40 pounds, you can be the lucky lady to hire a dress that has been worn by your favorite celeb. Bad news is, you can’t keep it, you hire it for just one day.

Topshop’s new initiative, Dress Me Up, will allow shoppers to hire dresses owned by celebs like Kate Moss, Scarlett Johansson, Erin O’Connor, Noami Campbell and Dita von Teese. The dresses will then be auctioned, giving you the chance to own your favourite dress forever with all proceeds from hire fee and the auction going to Topshop’s chosen charities Age Concern and Help the Aged.

Topshop makes your Christmas wishes come true this year: The high street giant’s latest venture, Dress Me Up, allows shoppers to steal a star’s style for a day by hiring dresses from their wardrobe.

Launching today, Dress Me Up will be in Topshop’s flagship Oxford Street store until December 6th for you to try things on for size before its official launch on 7th December, running through until the 23rd.

During the hire period, you can grab Kate Moss’ beaded Lanvin dress, Freida Pinto’s pale yellow Burberry Prorsum number, Scarlett Johansson’s Nanette Lepore animal print mini, Peaches Geldof’s floral floor-length Dolce & Gabbana gown, Dita Von Teese’s blue evening dress by Jayson Brundson, and one of Nicola Robert’s bespoke costumes from the latest Girls Aloud tour, among a rialfull of others. Names also signed up to the initiative include Naomi Campbell, Jourdan Dunn, Erin O’Connor, Sophie Dahl and ELLE’s very own Olivia Palermo.

But that’s not the best part: Hiring a dress costs a mere £40. And, if after wearing your favourite dress you can’t bare to see it go, you’ve got the chance to own it forever as it falls into auction, with proceeds going to Age Concern and Help the Aged.

“Having worked with Topshop for so long, we didn’t think twice about donating our dress. It’s such a great cause, especially at this time of year,” Emma Cook told Vogue UK. “The combination of being able to help support Age Concern and Help the Aged and the chance for someone to wear our dress that wouldn’t ordinarily be able to afford to, is such a fantastic concept.”

Glam Alexa

What has the States done to our very own TV presenter/rock wag Alexa Chung? She’s gone all glamour.

The Chung was in that pack of annoyingly stylish ladies before she went. Jameela Jamil, Daisy Lowe and Henry Holland.

She rocked the preppy shirts, denim shorts and brogues. Putting her former model figure and glowing skin to good use. But it screamed more sixth-former, than style icon.

But now she’s all Brit meets Hollywood glamour-puss. She wears dresses. Real cocktail dresses. By the best of the best.

The States are clambering over each other to invite her to high-profile events, then seeing what designer collection she graces. From Dolce & Gabbana to personal favourite Chanel.

The preppy Alexa of old

Although she’s not that American luxe. Alexa still manages to throw a cute vintage lace dress into the mix. Good lass.

And the mash-up doesn’t end there. Not one to conform, Alexa is more than happy to team a gorgeous red Jason Wu tulip dress with ill-fitting black patent pumps. And for that, us Brits salute her. Who wants to look too American? Too happy? Too pre-packaged? Too fake?

Keep it real Alexa.

Creazioni di Dolce & Gabbana

L’altro ieri Corriere.tv ha pubblicato una video-intervista a Dolce & Gabbana. Gli stilisti hanno parlato della nuova linea che stanno dando alle loro collezioni, che per loro vuol dire un ritorno alle origini. Non tutti sanno o ricordano gli inizi del duo, quando il neorealismo e il nero Sicilia erano la loro fonte di ispirazione. Quando le loro collezioni erano bellissime. Non erano solo più economiche, erano multistrato, semplici, personali ma non volgari. Poi secondo me il marchio è declinato nel lusso leopardato e ha perso il suo fascino.

Non so se questo ritorno alle origini sia un segno di crisi per mancanza di vendite o un’ispirazione ritrovata. Ma sarebbe bello rivedere quello stile fasciato che le top model dell’epoca e Monica Bellucci hanno reso celebre. Intanto a livello di borse, la tanto pubblicizzata Miss Sicily, nel modello nero puntato, è bella. Stile più classico da anni ‘50 che neorealista da dopoguerra, ma è la tendenza di quest’inverno. In quanto alle collane…siamo ancora lontani dalle origini.

Ya hemos visto a la muy sexy Scarlett Johanson en varios anuncios de Dolce & Gabbana. Este es su más reciente comercial de tv realizado por Jean-Baptiste Mondino para la nueva fragancia de D&G,  l’eau the one.

En el comercial Scarlette se muestra sentada en una mesa jugando con una naranja de una manera muy pícara, mientras hace reflexiones sobre la verdadera belleza.

In these past few weeks I have become somewhat enamored with all things lace. There is something so tastefully dainty and yet slightly sultry about a peek of lace that adds such a necessary dimension to any outfit. No novo comercial da D&G Time tudo comeca com um casal nos amacos, mas logo chega o terceiro para entrar na farra, claaro que tudo com muita classe e riqueza unica, ate porque estamos falando da linha de relogios de Dolce & Gabbana.

Adorei o video, a ideia e a falta de hipocrisia da campanha, vou ate comprar um watch da D&G, rs.
