Com a internet, P2P, torrentz, DC++, … cada internauta tem a sua disposição, quase em tempo real, as melhores produções de TV do mundo, o melhor do cinema, quadrinhos, música. Ou seja, ele possui um especrto de possibilidade muito maior do que tempo para consumir tudo que quer.

O novo consumidor cultural é obrigado a escolher oque quer assitite sua principal moeda é o seu tempo. o mesmo temp oque ele tem para trabalhar, dormir, fazer exercícios, namorar,… portanto cada minuto na frente da TV tem que ser muito bem gasto. Esse casoe agrava co mas séries de TV, pois se umn filme for ruim, o espectador só investiu 2 horas de sua vida, mas se asérie for ruim, o espectador terá investido 1 hora por semana nela. è muito mais tempo. portanto os seriados tem que entregar cada vez mais para oespectador nãose sinta desrespeitado no seu novo mais valioso bem, o tempo.

Já comentei aqui que o motivo pelo qual Dollhouse foi cancelada é que eles apresentaram n o13º episódio alucinante e na segunda temporada voltaram pruma história sopinha de bebê. Fringe é outra série que está fazendo o mesmo e sua audiêcnia está despencando. a Série apresenta universos paralelos, guerra dimensional e na temporada seguinte segue nos casos da semana contra o garoto -topeira, o garoto-mental, o observador que se apaixona, etc… Assim não dá, tem que avançar na história e não ter medo de tomar decisões ousadas.

The Mentalist consegue fazer isso. Cria-se um time inteiro de persoangens no CBI apenas para poder usá-los de maneira dramatica para avançar a história. Quem assitiu o destino do time do Bosco, sabe do que eu estou falando. Excelente.

Por esse motivo é que tenho preferido cada vez mais assistir séries inglesas. Elas são menores em tamanho, portanto não precisam de episódios tapa-buraco com tramas garoto-topeira. Fora isso, como não possuem orçamento grandes efeitos especiais, suas tramas tem que estar muito melhor calcadas no roteiro. Life on Mars, Ashes to Ashes, Being Human, Doctor Who, Torchwood, The Office, Skins, Primeval, Jeckyll, Mifits e Paradox São todos exemplos de séries recentes inglesas com uma qualidade média de roteiros muito maior do que as séries americanas. Dê uma chance as séries inglesas, você vai perceber que não é perda de tempo.

When I first saw this dollhouse on a buying trip six months ago I immediately fell in love with it. I have always been fascinated with dollhouses, the little miniatures, and the little dolls that live in them. I could easily be one of those adults who still play with dollhouses. Life seems simpler when rearranging the furniture and setting out the tiny little dishes.

This dollhouse has three levels and nine rooms. It is completely open and can be played in from all sides. The house and all the little furniture are made from bamboo. It comes completely furnished with a doll family. The most unusual part is the fully functional solar panel with wiring in the walls (just like in a real house) that power the LED lights that are in three rooms. Next year the company hopes to have a functional greenhouse attachment which can grow tiny plants. How amazing is that!

"Dollhouse" está oficialmente cancelada

Ya lo habíamos sospechado anteriormente y la historia es la misma para tanto Hank como Eastwick; estos han sido cancelados y se agrega la serie de televisión de FOX “Dollhouse” que todos escuchamos mientras hacíamos algo más importante (simplemente por falta de rating y de buena trama), así que aunque haya sido una pena para Joss Whedon, las cosas siguen su camino y estos son los planes para cerrar la serie:

Como han habido dos temporadas de 13 episodios van a ser recopilados en un DVD junto con un episodio especial , el Hollywood Reporter dice que Whedon tendrá algo especial (entiéndase de que van a editar las cosas) para el cierre de temporada este 22 de enero. Ya que en el momento en que se estrene este episodio, Whedon tendrá bien definido que va a hacer…a la mejor y nos sorprende con algo interesante: ¿Quizás la segunda parte del Dr. Horrible?

CHRISTMAS IS COMMING

I had to get the decorations out today. The box was in the loft and was a bit dusty. I forgot how much there was.

I will have to buy some new crackers, as these were last years. They will do for decorating the Christmas Tree.

The tree will be good for another year, and the wrapping paper will be very useful. Somewhere I think there are some Christmas cards left over from last year, I will have to dig down to the bottom of the box. The cards I received last year I have kept to make labels for parcels this year.

I made these baubles from beads the largest one is 10mm, and the smallest is 5mm. The detail on them is amazing.

I bought this Nativity in Frace a few years ago, I have not seen one since, the largest figure is 3/4 inch.

Fox is projected to win November sweeps. If it does it’ll be the first time in network history, and if it does win, it’ll do so with the largest victory margin in five years.

And the good news keeps on coming.

Fox is also up 20% from its November sweeps period last year in the advertiser-coveted adult demographic and is the only network to post a gain. ABC is in second place with 3.1. CBS is a close third with a 3.0. NBC is fourth with 2.6 and the CW has a 1.2.

Fox pretty much owes its win to baseball, their Sunday night animation block, House and the one-two punch of So You Think You Can Dance and Glee.

Pulling Dollhouse is looking like a better and better business decision.

Revisiting Dollhouse

“Belonging,” the episode of Dollhouse originally aired October 23, 2009, in the US, both gratified and disappointed me as a Dollhouse viewer (and someone who loves and appreciates Joss Whedon). It was fantastic to have my faith in Whedon justified and to finally get what I expected of the series from the very beginning: an episode that was not only dynamically well-written and incredibly entertaining, but full of dark layers and surprises and the reminder that nothing in the Whedonverse is ever truly what it seems.

And therein lies the rub: I had to wait 16 episodes* to see it.

From the beginning, I have been pretty consistently disappointed in the series. It was almost never what I have come to expect from a Whedon project. Sure, there were moments of brightness – the Espenson/Tancharoen/Jed Whedon-penned 10th episode, Espenson’s “Briar Rose” (#11), and this season’s premier episode, penned by Joss. All were solidly written and furthered the story excellently. And I know every episode can’t be full of OMG moments, or those revelations will lose impact. But I was hungry for depth and wit, and most weeks, my plate came up pretty empty…or containing very tiny servings of nouveau cuisine. Most episodes had moments of brilliance, but their sum totals were pretty meh. Frankly, I only kept watching because I have faith in Joss and because for at least the first half of Season 1, the greasy little handprints of FOX executives were all over every single episode, so I figured if they ever left the show alone, Joss would be free to do what Joss does, and my faith would be rewarded.

So far, Season 2 has led me to feel that belief might be justified. Joss’ first episode of the season, “Vows,” set the stage for a promising second act, and I have since been fairly content with every episode. It still wasn’t where I hoped it would be, but it was solidly moving in that direction…so it figures that immediately following the best episode of the series, FOX suspended the show for a month while promising the suspension did not herald cancellation – and then 2 weeks later, announced the network will air 2 episodes a week for the month of December and then cancel the series (despite copious comments to the contrary). I wish I could say I’m shocked and dismayed, but frankly, I’ve been waiting for the announcement since before the show even aired. FOX really seems to have it in for Whedon, and 25 episodes is about 23 more than I thought we’d get. So there’s really no surprise here, at all.

It just sucks that FOX waited until it finally hit its stride to pull the plug.

In dieser Rubrik wird es, ähnlich wie im letzten Jahr, wieder meine Eindrücke zu den Serien geben, die ich in den letzten rund 12-15 Monaten gesehen habe. Meine Einschätzungen sind subjektiv, aber unumstößlich und können sich auch durchaus mal auf Serienstaffeln beziehen, die schon etwas älter sind. In alphabetischer Reihenfolge wird es hier nach und nach kurze Kommentare zu jeder dieser Serien geben.

Dollhouse

Joss Whedon zählt in meiner “Peer Group” ja schon zu so etwas wie den popkulturellen Göttern – für mich nicht ganz so, dennoch respektiere ich sein Werk und habe Firefly wirklich beeindruckend gefunden, sowie Dr. Horrible geliebt (und ja, Buffy habe ich nie wirklich gesehen).
Mit seinem neuesten Projekt “Dollhouse” hat er im vergangenen Jahr dann bei FOX wieder eine Serie an den Start gebracht, dass bei vielen Fans vorab für feuchte Höschen gesorgt hat – bei der Ausstrahlung aber doch auch für einige Enttäuschungen. Dass die Geschichte über eine Organisation, die programmierbare Menschen für gefährliche Missionen (oder auch sexuelle Aktivitäten) “verleiht”, zudem quotentechnisch für FOX kein richtig großer Erfolg werden würde, war dabei allerdings keine so richtig große Überraschung.
Für meinen Geschmack ist Dollhouse eine sehr ordentliche Serie gewesen, doch wenngleich sie einige vielversprechende Ansätze zeigte, hatte sie doch eben auch oftmals Leerlauf und war etwas mühselig anzuschauen.

Meine Wertung: 6 von 10 Gabeln [für Season 1]

Drop Dead Diva

Wenn man ein Serienjunkie ist, wie ich es bin, dann kommt es manchmal durchaus vor, dass man auch über Serien stolpert, die einem nicht so hundertprozentig zusagen, aber dennoch hängen bleibt. Entweder aus Gründen des Fantums, oder aus Gründen, weil man bestimmte Darsteller(innen) großartig findet – oder einfach weil grade Sommerpause ist und sowieso nicht viel anderes in dem Bereich gerade läuft. So verhält es sich dann auch in diesem Fall, bei der Serie “Drop Dead Diva”, die auf dem kleinen Frauensender Lifetime während dieses Sommers (und Frühherbstes) ausgestrahlt wurde. Drop Dead Diva startet im Piloten mit dem bloden Model Deb Dobson, die einen schweren Autounfall erleidet und stirbt. Nachdem sie in ihrem Leben eher oberflächlich war und weder gute noch schlechte Taten vollbracht hat, wird sie an der Himmelspforte als “Null” eingestuft, was ihr nicht so richtig gefällt, so dass sie am Computer des zuständigen Himmelsbeamten auf den “Return”-Knopf drückt – und prompt wieder auf die Erde zurückgeschickt wird. Aber selbstverständlich nicht in ihren eigenen Körper, sondern in den einer übergewichtigen, aber intelligenten Anwältin namens Jane Bingum, die sich gerade kurz zuvor in einen Pistolenschuss geschmissen hatte und tödlich verwunden worden war. So muss sich die oberflächliche Deb nun einerseits gegen die (auch eigenen) Vorurteile gegenüber ihrer Figur zu Wehr setzen und gleichzeitig den ungewohnten Job als Anwältin meistern.
Nicht leichter wird das natürlich dadurch, dass der neue Angestellte der Kanzlei Grayson Kent ausgerechnet Debs Ex-Freund ist, dem sie sich als Jane aber selbstverständlich nicht wirklich nähern kann.
Diese klassische Bodyswitch-Geschichte ist in ihren besten Momenten durchaus gewitzt und manchmal clever inszeniert, aber die Produzenten machen es sich und ihrer Protagonistin doch gerne auch mal sehr einfach und viele Fälle wirken doch etwas an den Haaren herbeigezogen in ihren direkten Verbindungen zum Leben von Jane und/oder Deb. Leichte Kost für zwischendurch halt und in den USA hatte die Serie für den Kanal Lifetime sogar ausserordentlich großen Erfolg, auch dank einiger Gastauftritte bekannterer Stars, wie beispielsweise Paula Abdul.

Meine Wertung: 5 von 10 weiblichen Gabeln [für Season 1]

LA PROGRAMACION FOX DE ENERO DEL 2010

Aunque la cadena esta disfrutando de una de las mejores temporadas de su historia, como sucede todos los años, Fox realiza grandes cambios en la segunda parte de la temporada, por lo que tenemos la programación de Fox para los próximos meses.

Sin dudas las novedades más importantes para los primeros meses del 2010 son los regresos de 24 y American Idol, dos de los programas más importantes de la televisión y en los que la cadena se ha apoyado en los últimos tiempos.

Junto a estos regresos, los próximos meses servirán para presentar algunas nuevas series de la cadena, incluyendo la serie de acción Human Target, la serie de investigación Past Life y la comedia Sons of Tucson.

Como pueden ver, la programación presentará una gran cantidad de programas nuevos, lo que significa la partida temporada de algunos actuales, como sucederá con Glee y Fringe, que regresarán con nuevos episodios en abril.

Es claro que la cadena esta determinada a quedarse con el año, por lo que ha decidido repetir uno de los mejores combos de la televisión en la noche de los lunes, situando a House junto a 24.

Además utilizará el poder de American Idol para asegurar el éxito de varias series, incluyendo a Glee y Human Target.

Finalmente tenemos que destacar que Lie To Me no se encuentra en la programación pero seguramente regresará con episodios nuevos en abril o mayo.

Transforming Cancer into Culture

In chapter 3 of “The Rise of Cultural Bodies”, Metal and flesh: the evolution of man : technology takes over, by Ollivier Dyens, the idea of the body as a living mesh is explored, that when transformed — naturally or artificially — can no longer exist as it did before. It becomes a new being “creating in life’s outer-limits, their own body, their own system, their own territory, harvesting, as a consequence, both their liberation and their imprisonment.” (p.63) Only with a marriage of the cultural and the organic can these transformations be understood. Some good examples are used from Kafka’s The Metamorphosis and H. G. Wells‘ The Island of Dr. Moreau, to illustrate the transformative power of biology “grinding” against culture.

As the Deleuze-Guattari book Mille Plateaux indicates a “non-linear mutant and ‘cancerous’ transformation caused by the grinding.” (p.57, Dyens) They point to the formation of ‘plastic bodies’ born from the unsure binary: biology/culture.

Our bodies are “like eggs immersed in soft fluid representations whose organs are both everywhere and nowhere … without limits, borders, evolution … lifeforms turned into signs … that have become alive — plastic bodies.” (p.57, Dyens) Clones are an example of this plastic body as explored in the Joss Whedon tv series Dollhouse (2009). The idea that technology is changing us and causing us to be unable to reconcile our dual nature — human/animal, human/machine or skin/culture — resolves to find answers, as Dyens puts it, in the transformation process itself. A moving target with a porous quality to it, that can on the one hand escape social repressiveness and, on the other, become a social pariah. Kafka’s work frames the situation well, herein the power of patriarchal domination can assert itself and push us into the defeated beatnik position, however we can also be that moving target and use the same tools of production to keep transforming. “Only the coupling between culture and the organic can respond … the framework of a new evolution” (p.62, Dyens). Our body imprisons us while our culture liberates us. The threat, as visited in Dollhouse, comes from Patriarchal conformity and mind erasures. Culture is memory, which reveals to us the history of manipulation, and yet also points the way to reconciliation of our transgressions. Also, culture helps us remember, with narrative, so we don’t get caught in Patriarchy’s repetitive normalizing. The dollhouse itself, in Dollhouse, serves as an anchor, for newly ‘brain-wiped’ people, to something familiar yet void of substance or culture. Their resting area acts like a transparent grave or ghost tomb which reinforces the idea that without a memory, they are only plastic people — like bodies without organs, without culture. However, the mind-erasures don’t clear all atavistic memory since it occurs at a structural level.

Embryo

Our psyche may have been transformed, by technology, into “soft fluid representations…turned into ‘living’ signs”, but reconciliation can take place. Our structural building blocks do imprison us, just like the technological mediums impose a framework of interaction, however we choose the content or rather our level of engagement with that content — depending on our ability to deconstruct our ‘imprisonment’, like the ‘Echo’ character in Dollhouse. We become “non-linear mutants” that either, proactively face the “‘cancerous transformation caused by the grinding” of our biology with our culture, or reactively engage and are more susceptible to patriarchal-normative manipulation. We ‘harvest’ our own ‘liberation’ and reconciliation with our ‘imprisonment’. Failure to arrive at a reconciliation allows the ‘cancer’ to grow and dwarf, or even kill, our sense of culture.

Heis back… Alan Tudyk vuelve a encarnar el papel de Alpha en Dollhouse.No sé si abré hablado ya de Alan Tudyk,me devoción por él y mi devación por Alpha.Me encanta.Me encanta el actor,me encnata el personaje…todo.Y lo bueno esque está de vuelta ^^.Así es en el 2º capítulo del día 11 de Noviembre,volveremos a ver a Alpha en pantalla.Según parece en el capítulo ocho de la segunda temporada,todos los compromisos románticos de Echo aparecen asesinados,todo el mundo apunta a que el culpable es Alpha.Como ya vimos en la primera temporada,él está obsesionado con Echo.La secuestró y todo eso para convertirla en alguien como él,habrá que esperar unas semanas para ver lo que se trae entre manos Alpha.

El actor está ahora mismo ocupado en la serie “V” y sólo podías participar en la serie en unos pocos capítulos (como Amy Acker) pero todavía no sabemos cuanto tiempo podrá estar en Dollhouse.Esperemos que en más de un capítulo ^^
