I don’t know if it’s just me, or is this the funniest youtube video ever? I like The Cranberries and I was checking out some footage from their new tour on youtube when I stumbled upon this golden nugget. I laughed so hard that I had to take a few hits from my asthma inhaler. The funny stuff is right in the beginning…

Aaah the Cranberries. These Irish rockers have had a piece of my heart since forever. Every few months I relapse into a Cranberries phase, listening to nothing but Cranberries for weeks on end. Screaming to the top of my lungs to “Promises”, “When You’re Gone” and the many other songs that Dolores O’Riordan flawlessly sings with her ridiculously lovable voice. It’s been seven years since they’ve done anything together. I love them. Love love love. I had to see them. One last time…

It sold out it minutes and alas I did not have a ticket. Craigslist and Kijiji tickets were going for three times the price! And people were buyin ‘em! Outside the venue, the normal scalpers (who I now know by name) sold all of theirs for $200 a piece! Shit! After being robbed of tickets because people who JUST ARRIVED decided to cut in line and gobble up the freed up tickets from the people who waited HOURS. People were crying, spirits were crushed, and emotions ran red because the management at L’Olympia ARE HORRIBLE. Saying it was sold out when it wasn’t. Releasing one ticket. Sold out. Then another. Sold out. Then two. Sold out. They sold them to people who WEREN’T EVEN IN LINE AND JUST GOT THERE. Finalement it was sold out. Calmez calmez…The show started and 15 minutes in, I tried my luck once more with a bouncer I recognize at most shows as being quite generous and hooooorah! He let us all in for free just in time for the start of “Dreaming Your Dreams”.

O’Riordan looked as beautiful as ever in her shining gold dress and silver shoes. Her voice was untouchable. It was so perfect, so immaculate and even better exposed than records or CDs ever could capture. Her Irish twang. So lovable. A true performer, strutting across the stage, doing mini dances, choreographed nonsense, it was all there! It felt like the coziest venue ever, as if she performed at Cabaret Juste Pour Rire instead of L’Olympia, a venue 4 time the size. She spoke French to us. I always love it when they try. Everyone there were HUGE FANS. We sang with full and open hearts. We cried (“When You’re Gone”, “Dreams”, “Ode…”), We protested with our fists in the air (“Free to Decide”, “Salvation”, “Zombie”). We stood in awe. We held our hearts on our sleeves.

I didn’t want it to end. Hit after hit was performed. The new solo material was pretty great as well, especially “Lunatic”. I wish she played “Analyse” and “Promises”. But I can’t complain. Two hours of solid solid Cranberries rock later we all left feeling nostalgic and happy. Nostalgic that we just got to see our heroes from our past performed for the first time in 7 years, singing to all the songs, remembering all the lyrics, and catching our tears with one hand while the other waves in the air. Happy knowing that we’ll feel exactly the same way in twenty years. Ugh it was such a great night. I well up just thinking about it.

I saw The Cranberries last night for their New York stop on their reunion tour. The tour marks the first time they’ve performed together in nearly seven years, which blows my mind. The Cranberries were such a large part of my childhood and adolescence. My parents regularly played their albums ever since Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We? was released in 1993. Then the movie Empire Records (which came out in 1995, but I didn’t discover until around 1998) was released, and The Cranberries became not only my parents’ music, but my own.

Their concert last night was amazing (for lack of a more expletive word), simply put. The band was tight as ever, and Dolores O’Riordan is one of the coolest people with one of most awesome voices I’ve ever heard. The energy in the sold-out show was great, and I couldn’t get enough of O’Riordan’s message to live for today, and not worry about tomorrow. I’m going to try to start.

Tal y como se anunción hace unas semanas, The Cranberries se presentará en México el próximo año, por lo que pronto estarán a la venta los boletos para este concierto.

La banda irlandesa lidereada por Dolores O’Riordan se ha vuelto a reunir después de cerca de 7 años de ausencia con el fin de realizar una gira mundial que comenzó en noviembre en Estados Unidos.

Esta gira de The Cranberries viene acompañada por el lanzamiento de segundo disco de Dolores O’Riordan, ‘No Baggage’. En el 2007 se lanzó como solista y editó el álbum ‘Are you Listening?’.

Por tal razón durante esta gira se podrán escuchar éxitos de la banda, así como canciones del proyecto como solista de la vocalista.

La gira abarcará Lationoamérica y Europa. Para México se tienen previstas tres fechas:

15 de febrero en Guadalajara (Auditorio Telmex)

16 de febrero en la ciudad de México (Auditorio Nacional)

17 de febreo en Monterrey (Arena Monterrey)

Los próximos 30 de noviembre y 1 de diciembre será la preventa Banamex para los conciertos a través del sistema Ticketmaster.

C’est ainsi que François m’appelle depuis quelques semaines.

Le constat est édifiant, comme si la beauté pouvait varier selon une coupe de cheveux. Je l’ai dit, je l’ai dit, je l’ai dit ! Juste ici ! Et, comme promis, je me suis fait plaisir en ayant, une fois dans ma vie, les cheveux longs… Voire, très longs !

La preuve en image :

Le regard des hommes a radicalement changé. Je n’ai jamais eu autant de sourires, de clin d’oeil, de “Bonjour”, en une heure de temps ! Je me trouve complètement transformée et, pour la première fois depuis longtemps, je me sens “belle” et j’ai envie que cela continue. J’ai envie de me mettre en valeur, de porter de jolies choses et de me foutre de ce que pourrait penser ma mère (qui, même en me voyant revenir blonde, ne verrait aucun changement).

Malheureusement, avoir les cheveux au 3/4 du dos, cela demande du temps et ce n’était pas exactement ce que je voulais au départ. Je les ai donc coupés il y a quelques jours seulement et je vous avoue que mes cheveux n’arrêtent pas de me dire que j’ai eu raison, car ils sont encore plus beaux qu’avant (oui je les bichonne comme s’ils faisaient réellement partie de moi et en même temps, je prends bien soin de mes “vrais” cheveux aussi ! Ces derniers pousseront encore plus beaux !).

Mon coiffeur les égalisera à la perfection lorsque je le reverrai prochainement (si je le pouvais, je l’embrasserais bien sur la joue, mais je l’embarrasserais à coup sûr !). En attendant, je suis heureuse d’avoir ENFIN des cheveux longs.

Les personnes qui ne le savent pas, n’y voient aucune différence (ma peur au début, malgré les mots rassurants de mon coiffeur). Un exemple : la maman d’une petite camarade de ma fille m’a dit jeudi matin : “Ca fait longtemps qu’on ne s’est pas croisées ! Dis donc, ils ont bien poussé tes cheveux ! Ca te va super bien !” “Merci” (je n’avais pas le temps de tout lui expliquer, mais je le ferai… Si elle me le demande !). Ma meilleure amie ne m’a vue qu’en photo et a trouvé que j’étais une “nouvelle femme, un canon” (fais-je bien d’ajouter qu’elle n’est pas tout à fait objective ?).

Comme quoi, la chanteuse des Cranberries a bien fait de se laisser pousser les cheveux :

C’est dingue, non ?

En tout cas, je ne regrette pas, le résultat est vraiment “bluffant” (le mot qui est sorti x fois après les trois heures de travail pour la pose des extensions). Evidemment, il faut tout réapprendre pour éviter de coincer sa crinière entre les dossiers de chaises, dans les boutons de mon manteau… Ainsi, je fais maintenant un geste qui est devenu petit à petit naturel, lorsque  je les mets en arrière avec un petit côté :

 “C’est parce que je le vaux bien”

Qui me fait bien sourire…

Va tomando fuerza la ola de bandas y cantantes que sacudirán Lima el próximo año. The Cranberries es uno de los grupos que veré de todas maneras (Metallica también y ya estoy preparando el post del caso) porque una serie de buenos recuerdos me unen a la agrupación liderada por Dolores O’Riordan, la irlandesa dueña de una de las voces más adorables y cautivantes de los últimos años.

Recuerdo que el sonido del mencionado cuarteto británico arribó a nuestro país a mediados de los noventa. El mundo vivía un fenómeno de cambio a nivel musical. Las cadenas, con MTV a la cabeza, se encargaban de clasificar y etiquetar todo lo que aparecía. El metal le había dado paso al “grunge” y al “rock alternativo”. Bandas como Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, entre otras, fueron marcadas bajo el signo del grunge; mientras que REM, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Live, Collective Soul, y más, debieron soportar el rótulo de alternativos. Entre ellas, apareció The Cranberries, con un estilo diferente, para refrescar la recargada escena.

El primer tema que escuché, como la mayoría seguramente, fue “Zombie”: elegancia y agresividad en dosis justas. Aquella canción fue suficiente para comprarme en Disco Centro el “No Need to Argue” (ver la foto de arriba). Luego me enteré que existía una placa previa, “Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can´t We?” cuyo hit “Dreams”, también se metió en mi lista de preferidas de aquel entonces. Sin duda, la voz y la presencia de O’Riordan fueron cruciales para querer a la banda. Pero había otros elementos importantes que componía una agrupación sólida.

En esos años, Uranio 15 era el canal musical peruano de moda. Con el tiempo la idea inicial degeneró para convertirse en una señal para el olvido. Un verdadero desastre. Pero tuvo su momento y para quien no tenía nada que hacer, como yo, mirar U15 no era desagradable. Al contrario. The Cranberries sonaba mañana, tarde y noche durante en esa buena época yo me soplaba los videos con devoción. Por ello, los acordes de la banda integrada por Dolores O’Riordan, Noel Hogan, Mike Hogan y Fergal Lawler, hoy en día me permiten viajar hacia tiempos de ocio, cuando ver televisión no era mi pasatiempo, sino mi vida. Será un placer tener a los Cranberries por acá.

A banda irlandesa Cranberries anunciou que vem ao Brasil pela primeira em janeiro de 2010. O grupo se apresenta no Rio de Janeiro em 28/01 no Citibank Hall, no dia 30/01 em São Paulo no Credicard Hall, dia 31/01 em Belo Horizonte no Chverolet Hall e termina a turnê em Porto Alegre no Pepsi On Stage no dia 03/02.

A banda liderada pela musa dos anos 90, Dolores O’Riordan, terminou em 2003, mas retornaram esse ano. O grupo fez muito sucesso na década passada, com hits como “Zombie”,”Dreams” e “Just My Imagination”.

Cansei de escutar a música “Zombie” na minha adolescência, mas a banda acabou  marcada pelo enorme sucesso do começo da sua carreira e nunca mais conseguiram fazer o mesmo sucesso.

A pré-venda dos ingressos começam no dia 18, somente para clientes do Citibank, não foi divulgado quando começam as vendas para o resto do público e muito menos os valores.

Vimos no Twitter hoje esse boato e fomos ver de qualé que é dessa história.

Dizem que a banda Cranberries vai fazer show no Brasil no começo do ano que vem e vai passar sim em Belo Horizonte. O boato é que os irlandeses estarão no país entre a última semana de janeiro e a primeira de fevereiro para shows também em São Paulo, Porto Alegre e Rio de Janeiro.

Para a apresentação em Belo Horizonte, até foi criado um evento no Last.fm, dizendo que o show será no Chevrolet Hall dia 31 de janeiro e, inclusive, que as vendas de ingresso começam já no dia 25 de novembro. Mas eu desisti de perguntar sobre o assunto pro criador da página ao ver a foto do perfil dele.

No site oficial não tem nada na agenda, mas as datas de show nos EUA terminam dia 7 de dezembro e só recomeçam na Europa em março, deixando uma janela boa para uma passadinha aqui.

Se for verdade, será a primeira vez que o Cranberries vem ao Brasil – mas a vocalista, Dolores O’Riordan, já fez shows em carreira solo por aqui em 2007, lembra? Aliás, o retorno do quarteto aos palcos coincide com o lançamento de “No Baggage”, novo CD solo dela em parceria com Dan Brodbeck.

Quem viver, verá (ou não).

UPDATE: Confirmado! Os shows vão mesmo rolar. Quem, teoricamente, deixou escapulir foi o Citibank, que patrocina a vinda do quarteto. Na página do banco, clique em “Programação dos Shows” e veja com seus próprios olhos. Clientes do banco podem comprar os ingressos já no dia 18 de novembro. O restante da galera (ou seja, os não-burguesinhos), podem comprar dia 25. Comemorem!

Brani come “Linger” o “Ridicoulous Thoughts”, eseguiti dall’inconfondibile e stupenda voce di Dolores O’Riordan, fanno ormai parte del patrimonio musicale collettivo.

E’ nel 1994 che il gruppo esplode e ottiene un successo mondiale grazie al singolo “Zombie” estratto dall’album “No need to argue”. Potenti chitarre , ritmo incalzante e una voce penetrante, “Zombie”, canzone dal testo impegnato, denuncia le nefandezze della Guerra nell’Irlanda del Nord e diventa rapidamente un vero e proprio inno.
Nel corso del loro successo i Cranberries hanno alternato dolci ballate ( « Ode to My Family », « Linger »…) a pezzi pop rock (« Salvation », « I Can’t Be With You » ). Nel settembre 2003 il gruppo annuncia, con grande dispiacere dei fans, lo scioglimento.

Last night Fred and I made our way to Lower Greenville in Dallas to catch the Sea Wolf and Port O’Brien show at The Cavern. This was the first show that I had been to in longer than I am willing to admit. But what a great show to get back into the rhythm of things again and to just get rejuvenated and refreshed as a person. I had forgotten how amazing a small club show can be. And when I say small, I mean small. The maximum occupancy sign read 49 (if the Fire Marshall had shown up they would have been shut down) and the stage was so small that Sara Lov couldn’t bring her band with her at all. So it goes without saying that Port O’Brien and Sea Wolf barely fit with their five piece bands.

Sara Lov opened the night for us sans the band, as mentioned above. In its place she had a turn table with all the parts recorded except for vocals and guitar. If she hadn’t said that she had a backup band before hand I still would have thought that the turn table angle was a great and original idea. It added an element of nostalgia to the show, I mean who doesn’t like the sound that a record adds to a song let alone an entire concert? Lov, who’s biography is unbelievable, has a full bodied voice with a twinge of voice inflection reminiscent of Dolores O’Riordan of The Cranberries (this is more prominent live than on recording). I’m sure that most of the audience at the show last night had no idea who Sara Lov was before last night but I guarantee you that they’re looking her up this morning. She left the audience in awe as she made her way through her set and Fred and I were both blown away by her cover of Arcade Fire’s “My Body Is A Cage”, even saying that we actually preferred Lov’s version over the original. You can flog us for that one later.

Port O’Brien took the stage next and hit it out of the park. I went into the show looking forward more to hearing Sea Wolf with Port O’Brien as an extra perk to the show but left a much bigger Port O’Brien fan than when I had entered. By sheer circumstance Port O’Brien’s track “Sour Milk / Salt Water” is NPR’s track of the day. NPR describes them as “ethereal folk”, which is not the band we saw last night. The group I saw was rowdy and passionate and as far from ethereal and shoegaze as you could possibly get. Not to discount NPR’s music squad, their first impression is spot on with what you would hear on the new album Threadbare but unfortunately the album doesn’t do the live show any justice. Perfect example was with Port O’Brien’s set closing song “I Woke Up Today” off their previous release All We Could Do Was Sing, where an audience member in the front row was instructed to open the box in front of him and pass out the contents. The box was full of pots, pans, lids and spoons for the audience to participate in the percussion of the track and help with “screaming parts”. Out of the park I tell you.

Sea Wolf was the final act of the night. By the time Alex Church and crew took the stage it was already well past midnight. I don’t know about anyone else but I was starting to drag, the rest of the audience was showing no signs of wavering and Sea Wolf ate up the still rarin’ to go crowd with a set featuring tracks from all their albums. The audience was definitely a factor with Sara Lov and Port O’Brien but seemed to perk up a bit more when Sea Wolf took the stage. Church was calm and calculated during their entire set, rarely breaking form to crack a joke. Some might see this as being austere but I can promise you that was not the case. This is a man that takes his music serious and that was easy to see as we listened to the seemingly countless layering that went into each song. Oft time with musicians playing multiple instruments to achieve the sound Church was looking for.

This was a show that left you wondering if the upcoming act was really going to be able to up the ante on the previous. I can’t say that I think one act out performed any other. Each brought their own flair to the stage, building on the previous acts performance which made for one of the better beginning to end concerts that I have ever been to.

Jag är lite smått förälskad i Piroth. Stockholmssystrarna, med Österikiskt-Finskt, ursprung som med Dolores o’Riordan-osande röster skapar drömsk folk-pop av bästa sort.

Sedan tidigare finns EP:n Alternative Tour och debutskivan Prima Ballerina från 2004 respektive 2007. I dagarna (den 21 okt) släpptes så uppföljaren Safe Haven som bland annat innehåller vackra Fog Dancers.

This blogging/reviewing caper does throw up some surprises. I didn’t know we had any Cranberries CDs on the shelf (let alone the two I found).

Fear not, this isn’t a case of early-onset Alzheimer’s. I’m just unobservant. These recordings are presumably further gems from my missus’ enormous dowry of musical wonder.

Until now I had been pretty oblivious to the Cranberries phenomenon. Their various hits had never grabbed me, and I had dismissed them as some mongrel hybrid of Sinead O’Connor, Enya and The Corrs. The wavering vocals and grandiosity of it all were the drivers of that perception.

Well, this CD has cycled through a startling eleven times of the past couple of days (I’m a masochist).

There is nothing fundamentally annoying or aggravating about this collection. But nor is there anything that delights and engages me. The lead vocals from Dolores (has there ever been a less rock-n-roll frontperson moniker? Well, maybe Alice Cooper I guess), are the only thing that differentiates this from a million other wannabee U2s. And unfortunately they do eventually grate. The scale exploration is more distracting than enamouring. If I’m chasing breathy and ethereal, I’ll head for the Cocteau Twins‘ Liz Fraser (hmmm, another “C” I’m lacking).

Dopo sette anni di silenzio ritornano con un tour mondiale i The Cranberries. Il 12 novembre il “Reunion Tour” partirà dagli Stati Uniti per poi sbarcare in Europa.

L’unica tappa italiana di questo tour sarà quella del 16 marzo 2010 al Mediolanum Forum di Milano.

Escrita por Dolores el día que cumplió 21 años, una canción triste, dura pero bella que marca lo que, excepto la siguiente canción, va a ser el resto del disco. Las guitarras de Noel en esta canción son las más cristalinas de toda su carrera.
04. ZOMBIE
El primer single del disco fue el que se comió el mundo en 1994.
Tengo que recococer que no es, ni de lejos, mi canción preferida de los Cranberries, pero una vez me puso los pelos de punta escuchándola en el walkman durante un viaje en coche. ¿Qué podía hacer que una chica de la edad que tenía Dolores por entonces cantase con todo ese dolor?

05. EMPTY
Otra de las canciones de mi vida, la que ha descrito casi a la perfección como me he sentido durante años y años. Cada frase de esta canción se ha podido aplicar a mi vida. Y la manera en que ella repite “vacío” una y otra vez, y una y otra vez, sacaba a mi familia de quicio… pero yo sólo podía escucharla intentando llenar el vacío con la voz mientras veía como se volvía a vaciar, y volver a intentar llenarlo y ver que una vez más…….

06. EVERYTHING I SAID
Una de las canciones menos llamativas del disco, pero no por ello menos emotiva. La ruptura que está presente en la mayoría del disco llega a su punto más amargo en dos momentos, y este es el primero de ellos.

07. THE ICICLE MELTS
Aunque la mayoría de las canciones tratan lo personal, a modo de diario, Dolores en esta época se mostraba bastante tocada por todo aquello que concernía a los niños. En esta canción aborda el asesinato de niños a mano de niños desde el punto de vista de aquellos que no entendemos que se les puede pasar por la cabeza a determinadas personas en determinadas circunstancias.

08. DISAPPOINTMENT
El segundo “momento más amargo” de la ruptura llega en forma de desilusión. Una de las canciones más olvidadas del grupo que a mi sigue poniéndome los pelillos como escarpias con esos momentos folk medio escondidos.
09. RIDICULOUS THOUGHTS
El cuarto y último single extraido de No Need to Argue sigue formando parte de la ruptura casi monotemática. Pero ya ha llegado el momento de aceptación. Así son las cosas.

Y ahora vas a tener que aguantarte. Vas a tener que aguantarte. Vas a tener que aguantarte.

Éste es, junto con Zombie y I Can’t Be with You, el momento más rockero del disco. Y todo el mundo flipa cuando ve a Frodo (Elijah Wood) tan canijo en el videoclip.

10. DREAMING MY DREAMS
Y después de la ruptura llegó la felicidad, un nuevo amor. De gira con Duran Duran, Dolores se enamoró del tour manager de Simon LeBon y compañía. Se casaron y, de repente, es la mujer más feliz del mundo.

11. YEATS’ GRAVE
Y lo que nadie se esperaba. En su día Dolores afirmó que no era muy “de libros. Prefiero no desarrollar mis filosofías a través de los escritos de otros”. Y sin embargo, ahí está ella, dedicándole una canción al poeta WB Yeats, y hasta recitando.
12. DAFFODIL LAMENT
Mi favorita de todos los tiempos. He de reconocer que cuando los Cranberries preguntaron qué canción que no fue single merecía estar en Stars (el disco de grandes éxitos) yo voté por Pretty. Pero sólo por una cuestión práctica, ya que en un cd no iba a caber todo e iban a tener que recortar las canciones -como al final ocurrió-. Pero lo que yo votase daba igual, porque esta es la mejor canción de lejos, y la gran mayoría votó por esta peazo de canción.
Daffodil Lament se divide en varias partes, comienza bastante oscura y pesimista. Más adelante un toque optimista breve da paso a la ironía y la resignación, para terminar con unos cantos que, al mismo tiempo que terminan el tema, adelantan lo que va a ser la úlima canción del disco.

13. NO NEED TO ARGUE
El broche final, una tormentosa relación resumida en emoción vocal y un órgano de iglesia. Y nada más.
En este vídeo, es el mismo Jools Holland el que toca el órgano. Además añaden un violín.

E adesso mi ritrovo qui…distante 8 km dal tuo corpo e non so quanto dal tuo cuore…scopro di non conoscerti affatto…scopro che non so assolutamente decifrare cosa sarà di noi due…ora che c’è una casa, una famiglia intorno che sa di noi, una presa di responsabilità che riesce a farmi dire: questo è il mio uomo, senza avere timore dei giudizi…

scopro che non c’è più noi, perchè agito la tua vita, la rendo nervosa, ti rendo ciò che non desideri essere…

La strada del mio ritorno, il ritorno a ciò che sono senza te, è una strada fatta di una valigia carica di vestiti mai indossati, un moleskine con tante pagine bianche chè tanta era la voglia di viverti che non trovavo il tempo di riempirla, sogni parcheggiati in attesa di poter dire NOI e paura di aver perso il più grande: riuscire a realizzarli tutti con te accanto….la strada del mio ritorno sarà una via polverosa, una via di periferia, non di certo asfaltata e in qualche punto desolata, che cammini per ore, giorni, senza incontrare nessuno, che qualche volta le strade così ti fanno paura e qualche volta no…

e sulla strada del mio ritorno so già che ci sarà qualcosa di delicato che dovrò affrontare senza di te – il prossimo intervento di papà – e qualcosa di bello che non potrò raccontarti – il mondo visto con gli occhi grandi e blu del mio piccolo bimbo, ma puoi star certo che sarò forte, in questi momenti e in tutti gli altri che ora non conosco, e non te lo dico per sottolineare la tua assenza, nè per mortificarti, nè per sollecitare i tuoi sensi di colpa (il vero amore non usa questi mezzi, questi sono i mezzi non di chi ama, ma di chi cova rancore e coltiva rabbia….ed io invece ti amo) te lo dico perchè tu possa trovare la stessa forza e la stessa serenità per affrontare i giorni belli e quelli brutti…

Se un giorno tornerai vorrei ti fidassi ciecamente di me, della mia capacità di amarti e volerti bene, della mia bontà e del mio desiderio di vederti felice…al punto di lasciarti andare…come ieri sera, quando mi hai detto che pur di salvarti sei disposto a lasciar andare tutto…

finchè non tornerai, ti guarderò da qui, distante abbastanza perchè non ti accorga del mio esserci, ti seguirò mentre ritroverai la tua felicità e quando sorridendo racconterai a qualcuno dei tuoi nuovi passi…e allora sorriderò anche io, perchè nei tuoi occhi vivi ritroverò la mia gioia…

e se non dovessi tornare mai sarà certo che in tante cose avrò sbagliato, che ho fallito ancora una volta, anche questa volta che non avevo mai creduto così tanto in NOI, e cercherò di fare di me una persona migliore, una persona di cui tu potessi essere fiero…una persona di cui, se non l’avessi mai conosciuta, avresti potuto innamorarti…

Ora solo qualche parola, tutta d’un fiato, per te: cerca di stare bene e mangia, non trascurarti, e quando la sera rientrando in casa non avrai voglia di nutrire il tuo cuore e la tua anima ricordati che il mondo gioisce del tuo sorriso e del tuo esistere…prova a ritrovare la voglia di fare e di vivere, continua a lavorare duro, perchè questo è ancora un grande anno e anche i prossimi lo saranno, perchè è arrivato il tuo momento ed è arrivato il momento di cominciare a raccogliere, prova a chiudere gli occhi e a pregare, chè la preghiera è un modo per ritrovarsi nell’amore che fa pulsare il mondo e impara ad agire senza essere impulsivo, che qualche volta la risposta giusta non è quella più scontata, qualche volta…ricordati di me, che lo so che non siamo stati insieme 20 anni, ma ti ho amato più in questi due anni di quando potrò amare nel resto della mia vita…ricordati di tutte quelle volte che ti sei sentito in capo al mondo ed ero lì con te, quando aspettavi sotto casa che mi addormentassi, o piangendo mi urlavi di credere nel miracolo del nostro amore, ricordati dei momenti in cui ti vibrava l’anima e di tutti quelli che, come me, tieni tatuati sotto la pelle, che non si possono vedere da fuori si sa, ma si possono sentire e si possono toccare e si possono vedere quando le lacrime invadono i tuoi occhi belli nel ricordo dell’amore più forte e meraviglioso e grandioso e SPETTACOLARE che tu abbia mai provato…e anche io.

Ma una giornata (ieri) iniziata con la sveglia che mi desta alle 6.30 per andare al lavoro (dopo 3 ore e qualcosa di sonno, facendo un rapido calcolo: ho scritto all’amore mio l’sms della buonanotte alle 3.07, quindi direi 3 ore e 22 minuti di sonno, sì, ecco), proseguita con l’apertura della cassa e la scoperta, lì dentro, di una banconota da 5 euro con su scritto a penna nera “LA VITA E’ UN DONO” (da quanto tempo non mi capitava di leggere qualcosa scritto sulle banconote… c’era un periodo, quand’ero piccola, che non ce n’era una immacolata, e io pure contribuii a metterne in giro alcune da me vergate, poi il fenomeno è scomparso [fra l'altro è illegale, vero?], mi ha fatto uno strano effetto, un po’ come quando rivedi certe puntate di Drive-in o trovi in giro per casa foto tue di 20 anni fa, o un bigliettino scritto a scuola per la festa della mamma), con il rovesciamento della mia tazza di tè sulla mia scrivania/dentro al cestino/per terra/sulla sedia della mia collega/ma quanto cazzzzzzzo è sto tèèèè!!!, con un panino divorato per fame più che per gusto al McDonald’s sulla statale (giuro che non c’andrò più per lungo tempo, persino l’acqua m’ha fatto schifo stavolta, sapeva da kebab e non voglio indagare perché) dove nella fila accanto alla mia per ordinare c’è un capellone che per un attimo penso abbia una parrucca, poi mi rendo conto che è Giovanni Allevi, e terminata infine con tre-corse-tre avanti e indietro da casa alla Conad perché mi dimenticavo le cose da comprare a metà strada (se io fossi un proverbio, sarei “Chi non ha testa ha gambe”)…

… ecco, una giornata così, come la posso definire?

(Vi piace Allevi? Io non lo sopporto, se po’ di’? Preferisco Dolores O’Riordan, anche se era meglio coi Cranberries.)

A presença feminina de hoje é de Dolores O’Riordan, vocalista/guitarrista da banda The Cranberries. A banda fez enorme sucesso nos anos 90, separou em 2003 e este ano está voltando à ativa.

Dolores toca sua ES-335, uma bela Cherry Dot Reissue,  em diversas músicas nos shows.

Dolores O’Riordan – No Baggage
Everything that is wrong and sucked-dry about popular music from the last two decades is contained within: over-stimulated guitars, echoed sequenced histrionic shrill vocals, lyrics that bask in the grey light of cliche and shared (i.e. mundane) existence, production that will haunt me for years to come. Makes U2 sound deep yet still oddly and horribly fascinating, like going to see Hanging On for a fifth time.

Tiny Vipers – Life Of Earth
Much reverb. Much silence. Much emotion. Many drapes being swirled around in the golden light of the morn. Even more reverb. For ‘proper’ appreciation of music, make sure you retire before 10pm with a babysitter.
