Oh, the humiliation!

I really don’t know what happened the last time I tried to share a post from this blog. Maybe because of the domain change, I will have to forward those “shortlinks” provided by WordPress from now on. That seemed the only solution with the debacle that was supposed to be the inaugural post with the new domain! On the second try, I copy’n'pasted what they call a Permalink to resend the blog, but that link didn’t work either. From now on, I shall forward the shortlink to those of you who wish to remain on my mailing list. I’ve already gotten one hate email, just minutes after pressing that first Send button. People can be so cruel. Oh, the humiliation! Where’s that paper bag to put over my head?

Well now that I’ve finished excoriating myself for that blunder, I’ve collected some beautiful pics and videos for you. Let me first present you with a simple streetscape. It is at the northwest corner of Hollywood and Highland, on Hollywood Blvd facing West.

The drummer wasn’t drumming, and I could not help but compare him to my friend Trey who goes insane with those paint buckets. I don’t care how derisive racist jerks can be, Trey is an artist. With that percussion equipment, he could tear the stars right off that pavement! As for me, I just love the composistion of this pic. The foreground forces you to move your eyes from right to left to the bizarre drummer. Photography 101 A+, Russell! See the woman in the center makes this pic. Notice how she’s staring at the ground. Whose star is that, I wonder? She’s the anchor that  holds the photograph together. I have a second without her and it doesn’t have that umph, for lack of a better word.

I’ve held and petted the python. Oddly the owner doesn’t have a name for it. He laughed at my obvious shock when he told me that the snake was just called “snake.” I told him that if I owned it, I’d name. “What would you name it?” he asked with a smile. “I don’t know. I’d have to get to know it first.” He feeds it every two weeks. When it was younger, it ate mice. As it got older, rats had to fill the bill. Now he’s so big, he needs a bunny every two weeks. When I pet it or hold it, it doesn’t try to constrict me to death. It just gets a friendly purchase. Some might be freaked out by just holding it, but even more interesting to me is that it looks you right in the eyes, unflinching and unafraid. I asked the owner if it gets to know people. “Oh, sure! She likes you!” You know me, Mr. Questions. “Do you know if a boy or girl?” He shook his head “no.”

At long last I have done what I was supposed to do quite some time ago.

1. L driver’s license – Finally I was able to take the test after going to the centre a total of 5 times. Had to get my bank statement to prove my address…

2. Buy a new domain – My old domain had expired for a long time and I have chosen to use a European Union one this time. The links connecting with this blog are now updated to match http://andrewchau.eu. Nevertheless, I still need to update the actual site and fix some things.

3. Uploading pictures on Facebook… Will probably add to the collection as the year goes on.

Oracle Weblogic Simple Producer (Version 10.3)

Oracle Weblogic Simple producer is a light version of Oracle Weblogic Portal + Oracle Weblogic Federated resources. From here onwards simple producer will be used to indicate Oracle Weblogic Simple Producer. Remote portlets deployed on producer can be consumed by the consumer portal using WSRP protocol.

A simple producer can be created using the following steps:

Khi lên domain hoàn chỉnh ta cần thực hiện các bước sau:
1. Đổi tên pcname và đặt dns suffix, khởi động lại máy
2. Khai báo IP, DNS
3. Cài DNS
4. Cấu hình DNS
5. Lên domain

Tất cả các bước trên bạn cần khá nhiều thao tác và tốn nhiều thời gian.Bài viết này có thể lên domain được nhanh hơn và chỉ cần một lần doubleclick.
Để thực hiện được điều này ta cần phải tạo các file sau, khi cần lêndomain chỉ cần copy các file này vào máy double click là xong. Các bạnthử đi !!!

Tất cả các file bên dưới được tạo trong c:\unattend, và hệ điều hànhwindows 2003 server được cài trên ổ đĩa C: và CDROM là E:. Máy của cácbạn cài windows trên đĩa nào các bạn tự sửa lại nha. Tất cả các chữ inđậm là thông tin các bạn cần sửa đổi cho phù hợp.

Bước 1: Tạo file ChangePCname.vbs có nội dung sau: (phần in đậm là Pcname)

Sau khi tạo xong các file bạn double click vào file Start.bat, máy sẽtự động đặt Pcname, chỉnh sửa registry, và khởi động lại máy. Sau khikhởi động xong sẽ tự chạy file dc.bat, file này sẽ tự gán ip, dns, càiDNS tự động, cài support tool tự động, tự tạo zone và lên domain và saukhi lên domain xong máy tự động khởi động lại. Kết thúc quá trình lêndomain.

Ok, here goes. There have been several recent newsgroups postings concerning why we require domain accounts to install PowerPivot for SharePoint. Why must the farm account and the various service accounts be domain accounts. This causes lots of heartache for users that want to install demo or evaluation servers because we don’t support a standalone server. Well, we do support standalone, but it a different kind of standalone. Let’s get right into it.

First, let’s compare and contrast this requirement with SharePoint. SharePoint has two types of installations: standalone (which they do NOT support in production) and complete/farm. The standalone installation is for demo and evaluation purposes only. It has uses NETWORK SERVICE as the service account for many of its internal processes. It is right up front that it is NOT expandable into a production system; it has security issues acting across servers; etc. However, it gives you a nice “toy” to play with. Let’s be right up front about it – PowerPivot does not install nor does it support a SharePoint standalone server installation. And, oh while we are on the subject, SharePoint does not support local machine accounts within a farm configuration. In the SharePoint world, once you go to domains – you go all of the way with domains.

Blog saya di wordpress ini sudah berumur 2 tahun lebih dengan jumlah pengunjung baru mencapai 65 ribuan. Terhitung dari pertama kalinya saya buat, themes blog ini baru berganti 2 kali hingga tulisan ini tayang. Dengan themes yang dipakai saat ini terlihat sangat sederhana, picture headernya juga belum sempat saya buat (karena sibuk & kadang malas..hehehe).

Belum lagi rampung dan belum dapat mengurus blog ini dengan baik….eh malah buat blog baru lagi di www.blogmalik.com. Sebenarnya blog ini saya buat, dilatarbelakangi karena adanya beberapa keterbatasan yang dimiliki oleh blog gratisan seperti blog www.pelbis.wordpress.com ini, akhirnya iseng nyewa hosting dan domain untuk nyoba-nyoba ngeblog di hosting berbayar. Sooo..buat teman-teman yang pengen liat blog baru saya silahkan jalan-jalan ke www.blogmalik.com , widgetnya masih sangat kurang…sedikit-sedikit akan ditambahi demikian juga dengan artikel-artikelnya.

ใช้ Linux ตระกูลต่าง ๆ แล้วก็พวกตระกูล *BSD เพราะส่วนใหญ่สามารถหามาใช้ได้ฟรี
ไม่ต้องเสียค่าลิขสิทธิ์ ส่วนที่เป็น Windows ก็จะนิยมใช้ Windows 2000 สำหรับในบ้านเรา
โฮสติ้ง ที่เป็น *BSD มีอยู่น้อยมาก ส่วนใหญ่มาใช้ในเว็บส่วนตัวไม่นิยมทำ hosting ให้เช่า

คราวนี้ก็เหลือระหว่าง Linux กับ Windows เลือกอะไรดี ?
- อันนี้ก็ขึ้นอยู่กับปัจจัยหลาย ๆ ด้านด้วยกันนะครับ ที่สำคัญที่สุดคือ เว็บที่คุณเขียน
ใช้อะไรเขียน application เช่น Perl, PHP, ASP ถ้าคุณใช้ ASP ก็จำเป็น
ที่จะต้องเลือก web hosting ที่เป็น Windows แต่ถ้าเป็น Perl, PHP คุณก็สามารถ
เลือกที่เป็น Linux ก็ได้ หรือจะเลือกที่ web host เป็น Windows ก็ได้.. ตามแต่คุณพอใจ
แต่เท่าที่ผมเห็นนะครับ web hosting ที่เป็น Windows ในบ้านเรามีให้เลือกน้อยกว่า
Linux น่าจะเป็นเพราะเรื่องลิขสิทธิ์ ซอฟแวร์ ราคาถูก  ไทยซอฟแวร์ อะไรแบบนี้แหละครับ..

แล้วตกลงถ้าใช้ Perl, PHP เขียนเว็บล่ะ เลือกอะไรดี ?
- ตามความคิดเห็นของผมนะครับ ถ้าคุณใช้ Perl, PHP หรือยิ่งถ้าใช้
MySQL เป็นฐานข้อมูล ผมแนะนำว่าบน Linux จะทำงานได้ดีครับ
แต่ก็ขึ้นอยู่กับปัจจัยอื่น ๆ อีกนั่นแหละครับ เช่น web hosting ของคุณทำการจูนดีเพียงใด
โปรแกรมที่คุณเขียน เขียนดีเพียงใด อันนี้ก็มีผลครับ ไม่ใช่ว่า OS เป็น Linux
แล้วจะต้องใช้ Perl, PHP, MySQL ได้ดีกว่าบน Windows เสมอไปครับ..

อันนี้เป็นเรื่องของ OS ในการเลือก host hosting แต่เราจะดูแค่นี้ไม่ได้ครับ ต้องดูปัจจัย เช่า โฮส อื่น ๆ
ประกอบด้วยอีกหลายอย่างด้วยกัน เช่น..

1. เสปคของเครื่อง server ที่ใช้ทำ web hosting ตามความคิดเห็นของผมแล้วเรื่องเครื่อง server นี่ผมว่าเป็นส่วนสำคัญมาก ๆ เวลาที่เราจะเลือก web host เพราะบางที่เครื่องไม่แรงพอ พอมีลูกค้าเยอะ ๆ ก็ทำให้
มีปัญหาเกิดขึ้นได้ เช่นช้าลง ล่มบ้าง ติด ๆ ดับ ๆ อะไรแบบนี้
เสปคขั้นต่ำที่เหมาะสม กับการทำเครื่อง server
- CPU PIII 733 MHz
- RAM 512 MB
- H/D 40 GB
ถ้าเลือกได้ผมอยากให้เปรียบเทียบกันหลาย ๆ ที่ในเรื่องของเสปคเครื่อง server
แต่ไม่ใช่ว่าเสปคสูงกว่า host แรง กว่าเสมอไป ก็ขึ้นอยู่กับจำนวนลูกค้าที่มีบนเครื่องนั้นด้วย
ขึ้นอยู่กับ service ที่เปิดให้บริการ ขึ้นอยู่กับ Sys Admin ในการจูนเครื่อง
ขึ้นอยู่กับความเข้ากันได้ของ hardware และ software ฯลฯ

2. Bandwidth และ Data Transfer ที่อนุญาตให้เราใช้งาน
ตรงส่วนนี้ก็สำคัญ ถ้าเว็บของคุณเป็นที่นิยม วันนึงมีผู้เข้าชมมาก ๆ
ส่วนใหญ่พวก – hosting ถูก  – ที่เปิดให้เช่า hosting จะบอกว่า unlimited แต่ในความเป็นจริงแล้ว
ถ้าคุณใช้เยอะเกินไป เขาจะค่อย ๆ บีบคุณออกจากเขาได้.. ทางที่ดีก่อนตกลง เช่า host ราคาถูก ควรจะสอบถามตรงส่วนนี้ให้ละเอียดรอบคอบก่อน.. ถ้าเขาจะบีบเรา เราจะได้บอกได้ว่า
ก็ตอนที่ตกลงกัน มัน unlimited นี่นา..

Die Domain dieser Seite lautet “mal7ehen.wordpress.com”. Also ich hatte eigentlich den Titel meines Blogs “mal sehen” als Domain gedacht, aber natürlich war diese Domain schon vergeben. Deshalb entschied ich mich für die “7″ statt des “s”. Sieben beginnt mit einem Ess und ich dachte, das wäre besser, als einen ganz anderen Titel zu wählen. Naja.

Und jetzt erst ist mir aufgefallen, dass die Domain ja “mal 7 Ehen” gesprochen wird. Ich war aber weder sieben Mal verheiratet, noch kenne ich so viele Ehepaare persönlich! In meinem Bekanntenkreis gibt es zwar unheimlich viele Paare mit Kindern, aber ans Heiraten denken die wenigsten. Zumindest noch nicht. Ich zweifle aber nicht daran, dass in den meisten der konservative Wunsch nach einer Hochzeit lauert.

Übrigens fand ich Frau Paulis Vorschlag von der zeitlich begrenzten Ehe sehr gut und realistisch. Dadurch würde viel Zeit und Geld für Anwälte und Gerichte gespart. Ein geringer bürolratischer Aufwand zur Aufrechterhaltung der Ehe, durch eine enfache Einverständniserklärung würde ja vollkommen genügen. Die weiteren Zeitabschnitte vor erneuter Verlängerung könnten dann individuell angepasst werden. Nun ja, die Debatte ist wohl dank den Herren der CSU auf lange Zeit aus der Welt. Schade Frau Pauli.

Endlich habe ich mich zu einem Umzug von WordPress aufgerafft. Momentan läuft der Blog webgestützt über WordPress.com, aber in Zukunft soll WP extern auf einem Server installiert sein.

Es ergeben sich völlig neue Möglichkeiten bei den Updates und Plugins. Ausschlaggebend ist die Nutzung von Twitter im Blog, da es bei den webbasierenden Blogs fast keine Erweiterungen gibt.

Natürlich ist solch ein Umzug mit Arbeit verbunden. Es gibt zwar die Möglichkeit Seiten, Artikel, Kommentare usw. zu exportieren, aber ob das so 100% funktioniert bleibt abzuwarten. Separat muss ich mich aber um die Bilder kümmern. Diese liegen leider auf dem WordPress.com Server und müssen gesondert auf den neuen Server hochgeladen werden. Separat dazu müssen natürlich auch die ganzen Pfade geändert werden…uiuiui
