Because of Alentus Europe Ltd, I had to employ a UK based Internet Solicitor to try and recover my Domain Name.

My story is shared below.  It is accurate and I have documents to back it up

In September 2012, Alentus Europe Ltd invoiced me for the renewal of my Domain Name to cover the period 2012 to 2014.  However, even though they had received my payment and had sent me a receipt for the transaction,  the Domain was dropped by Alentus Europe Ltd.  I had lost my Domain, which I had owned since 1999, to another registrant through no fault of my own.  It had been “snapped” by another registrant and was up for sale for more than $1500 (USD)

I was never informed that there were any problems with the renewal.  As far as I knew everything went ahead as it had done in previous years’ renewals.  However I discovered earlier this year, that Alentus Europe Ltd had not renewed my Domain Name even though they had received my renewal payment.  They had allowed it to expire without even so much as a notification!

When this came to my attention in February 2013, I contacted Alentus Europe Ltd  via their online website, ticketing Contact Us link on 21 February 2013.  I was informed by Darren Hauch from Billing at Alentus Europe on 25 February 2013, that as the domain name had not been registered through them, they could not renew it.  This was news to me as it had not been a problem for them to renew the domain in previous years.

For the record this meant that, in 2010, Alentus UK Ltd had been in charge of the renewal of my Domain Name.  On that occasion, I was sent an invoice in September 2010 to renew for the period 2010 to 2012 and received a receipt from Alentus UK Ltd for the renewal in October 2010.  My Domain was renewed until November 2012.

Back to the present and February 2013 and it was at this point, because I did not receive a satisfactory, nor, what I considered to be a professional response from Alentus Europe Ltd to my enquiry, I did what any person would do in my situation………I took legal advice.  Time was of the essence as my Domain was being advertised for sale on the internet.

I obtained the services of a UK based Solicitor specialising in Internet issues who sent an initial letter to Alentus Europe Ltd on 28 February 2013, explaining the facts and pointing out that Alentus Europe Ltd were in Breach of Contract.  After correspondence with Alentus Europe Ltd, my solicitor struck an Agreement with Alentus Europe Ltd and rightly retrieved my Domain back into my ownership on 18 March 2013.  As part of the Agreement, Alentus Europe Ltd had also agreed to pay a contribution (not even the full amount) to my legal expenses for their mistake, and an Agreement was signed to that effect by  John Macleod of Alentus Europe Ltd.

To date, Alentus Europe Ltd has failed to honour the financial part of the Agreement, and as a result, my legal costs currently stand at over £1200 (GBP).  My solicitor warned them on several occasions that I would share my experience online in the form of Blogging etc, unless they upheld their financial part of the Agreement.

Despite several attempts by my solicitor to communicate with them, there has been no response from Alentus Europe Ltd and the deadline given of 6 May 2013 has now passed.

This mis-management of my Domain by Alentus Europe Ltd,  has been extremely disruptive and has led to unnecessary legal costs for me.

After we saw the video, we looked at each other, and the first we said was this is such an amazing concept. The AMFI (AMSTERDAM FASHION INSTITUTE) is the school for young people who want to become a fashion designer and break through. You have three fields: Design, Branding and Management. iNDiViDUALS is a platform where the three fields are working together to make a new collection.

Twice a year the AMFI adds a new generation of students to their platform. Each season their collection is showed on a big event like FASHION WEEK and then they produce and sell it only in selected store in the Netherlands.

The video is truly inspiring. It shows the development of an iNDiViDUALS-collection made by students. All the students are there with the same dream. They are so motivated to reach there goal. You see all these people working so hard on their project, making it as perfect as possible for the final show.
