Back with the second episode of our exciting video series – backstage at Dolce&Gabbana’s Spring/Summer 2010 menswear campaign shoot. Designers Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce hit New York at the beginning of November to photograph the campaign with Steven Klein. See models Noah Mills, David Gandy, Sam Webb and Adam Senn at work and discover what really happens behind the scenes of a campaign shoot. To stay in theme with the collection the boys got all tough and manly; helping them give performances on par with the best of the A-list was flamboyant acting coach to the stars Susan Patson.

After two seasons as the face of Louis Vuitton, the Queen of Pop ,Madonna is ready to take on her next high-fashion challenge: modeling for Dolce & Gabbana! The Italian design duo announced on their online magazine, that Madonna will be the face of D&G Spring/Summer 2010 campaign.

The adverts will be Sicilian-themed and were shot in Brooklyn, New York, by renowned fashion photographer Stephen Klein.

“To have Madonna in our campaign is a dream come true,” Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana said in a statement.

While helping fashion director Lauren Goodman, employer, and dear friend with a trend report, I realized something that most fashion girls realize at some point in their awakening.  I should have been born in another time.  This feeling has creeping up on before at certain other points in my life.  While watching opera at La Scala in Milan, wandering the streets of Vienna w/ Katie, and especially in the Schonbrunn Palace, every time I look at a fashion editorial of St. Petersburg and now while reading Anna Karenina.  

I should have been born in another time!  

Beyonce is not my style icon.  Actually it’s empress Catherine the Great.  I’d rather be a Czarina than a pop star.  Elizabeth is pretty great too.  All these places have the insanely ornate baroque theme in common.  I love baroque, I love curly qs and brocades and lush velvets and jacquards.  Voluminous shapes!  When Amanda asked me if I’d marry Pierre if only to have my wedding at Versailles… it was a legitimate question.  

This all being said, I was having an impossible time this benefit holiday season finding things to wear.  If only I worked for D & G.  Stefano and Domenico seem to have a privy into my imagination.  For years now, most editorials I see that I point out, “I need that,” it turns out to be D&G — in a few cases Miu Miu… go Miuccia!  This Fall 2009 was no exception.  I wish I could drape myself in Dolce & Gabbana and I’d be set for life.

This Thursday, I had my Ballet Hispanico benefit coming up and could think of nothing to wear.  While shopping for fabric for Aliomi lining, store after store I saw awe-inspiring collections of brocades, especially in Elegant Fabrics.  My mother was with me, and all of a sudden she got inspired.  Quite the seamstress in her day, she offered to make something to wear for Ballet Hispanico.  Immediately I told her, I want D & G.  I want TeenVOGUE’s  Arthur Elgort St. Petersburg shoot, “russian dressing” Sept 2006 (who’s amazing daughter and dear friend from middle school, Sophie is doing the photography and publicity for Aliomi– she is a force).

While flipping through Dec/January 2009 looking for a Canon/ TeenVOGUE advertorial that I assisted Lauren Goodman in styling, I saw Dakota Fanning’s interview and there she was with some fabulous D & G skirts on.

I wish I dressed like that at her age.  I wish that Havana Laffitte, TeenVOGUE fashion editor and stylist, styled me then.  Instead I was terrified of the force that was Havana when she came bellowing down the halls of the office, editing racks in a second.  And instead, this is what I dressed like…  Oh dear…

Yikes this also made it into my college application to Amherst… How Elle Woods of me… I didn’t have tons of “academic” awards, what can I say!  If I become fabulously wealthy and important, Domenico, Stefano, Miuccia and Havana will all be on speed dial…

Dolce & Gabana introduced its newest collection to the members of the press and spectators during the Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2010 RTW in an array of black and white with a splattering of red and pink hues. The two known designers, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana cast a spell of the future most desirable feature of the hottest collection of RTW.

The collections are spectacular with light of glamor that ladies love most. Whoever wears this will definitely exude their simplicity and sexiness. They are tempting with the lingerie. Experience the comfy feeling of everyday life.

“Heritage,” is the name they gave to the show, laced with a piece of tango and sate with pride of Dolce & Gabbana’s signatures.

The collection mesmerized the audience for the true mannish arrogance styled suits, sexy intimate apparels, diaphanous laces, cafe-curtain macrame short dresses, and rose-patterned outfits in Chinese fashion, striped skinny tuxedos, lace Little black dresses with bras and long fringed margins.

The collections are definitely one of a kind for the red carpet moments, appropriate for a person’s character who wants a new look for their daily wear and needs. They will say that everything is in its proper place.

A luxurious period apartment in Paris is the set for a malicious mademoiselle who abandons herself to provocative games, ending in an upper-class ménage a trois. The risqué situation is interrupted by her rigorous mother, shocked at the sight of such an impudent display. Music by: “The Sparks”

MadonnaTribe has heard and can report more news about the new fashion campaign that Madonna will shoot with photographer Steven Klein next month for the new Dolce & Gabbana campaign.

The shooting date has now been set and it will take place on November 6th in New York City. Another fresh piece of news is about the campaign itself, because this now will be for the Women’s Collection of the Italian designer duo.

The most dazzling supermodels of all time, Claudia Schiffer, Eva Herzigova and Naomi Campbell, faces of the first D&G Fragrance Anthology, were greeted by hundreds of fans and onlookers at la Rinascente Piazza Duomo in Milan.

The supermodels were accompanied by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana and they posed for the photographers and TV’s cameramen who attended the event. They also signed autographs for fans within the wonderful venue dedicated to the D&G fragrances world by la Rinascente.

i check bryanboy’s blog as much i check my humble own. it’s usually tabs side by side… and i do this NOT to compare (big hello!) but because i admire him, so much that i quickly jump to open his after feeling bored with mine (blogs i mean, haha). i think hes very very “forward pinoy”, and he’s absolutely, undeniably successful. bryanboy is inspiring more than anything.

well i hope he stays in manila so the press will keep noting “…manila-based fashion blogger”. i think it’s very important that he carries the banner as he soar.
