This year was Thebe’s first year performing at SXSW and he ran threw a couple sets during the weekend. Above clip is 15 minutes and below is him and Vince Staples performing “Hives” which is also produced by Thebe. Earl, Domo and Vince also made an appearance at Action Bronson’s set to perform “Elimination Chamber”. Enjoy.

The biggest takeaway from this year’s SXSW reaffirmed what we have been hoping for some time: New York hip-hop is not dead. Not even close.

Vice Media’s Viceland–one of SXSW’s larger official venues–was proof positive of that point. On Friday night, the venue hosted a who’s who of New York’s past and present: Flatbush Zombies, A$AP Ferg, Action Bronson, Juelz Santana and Ghostface Killah. The only non-New Yorker on the bill was Detroit’s Danny Brown, but he fit in well with the others.

Flatbush Zombies kicked things off and set the precedent for the rest of the evening. The Brooklynites ripped through their set and ended up spending some quality time rapping from the audience. Not to be outdone, A$AP Ferg and his crew took the stage and immediately launched into the audience to stir up the crowd.

To call Danny Brown’s set a downer would be unfair, but there was a noticeable difference in energy between Brown and the first two acts. With that said, Brown did his thing and kept the crowd with him throughout his set.

After Brown, Action Bronson took the stage and tore that motherfucker down. All the way down. Bronson is a force all by himself (we have been over this), but he brought a whole gang friends that took his show to a whole other level. Roc Marciano, Earl Sweatshirt, Vince Staples, Domo Genesis, Schoolboy Q, RiFF RaFF and several others joined Bronson on stage throughout the set.

In what has become a staple at Bronson’s live shows, the Queens MC strolled all through the venue while performing, “Strictly 4 My Jeep.” After rocking a new Alchemist-produced track with the Odd Future boys, Bronson pulled out a plastic grocery bag full of dime bags and began tossing them into the crowd. Have you ever seen when they throw chum to great whites during Shark Week? Yeah, it looked like that.

Proving yet again that he is focused on being a part of hip-hop’s future, Bronson called Chance the Rapper and several other young-guns to the stage for a cypher that concluded the set.

Juelz Santana had the dubious task of following Action Bronson’s tour de force, which may explain why he took his sweet ass time before getting on stage. Despite a deflating wait between sets, Santana eventually showed up and took us back to high school with tracks like, “Hey Ma,” and “Oh Boy.” After peppering the crowd with some Dip-Set classics and his solo hits, Juelz closed out the set with a new track that gives us hope for his new album.

Finally, the evening’s headliner took the stage. Our only gripe is that Vice should’ve billed it as Wu-Block instead of Ghostface Killah. With Sheek Louch in tow, the New York super group covered material from both the Lox/D-Block and Wu-Tang Clan in addition to a few Ghostface solo tracks.

Despite growing up on Wu-Tang Clan and banging Dip-Set anthems through high-school, it was the new, younger acts that we were really stoked on.

For all those who have waited patiently like me for the next album from Odd Future frontman Tyler The Creator the wait seems to be just a wee bit less today as a German site leaked the list and artwork to the fans. Check it out everyone on this one from fam bam Frank Ocean to Erykah Badu. The wait is coming to an end…and it seems like it will be well worth it!

Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All – yes, you read that correctly – are skaters fromLadera, CA who have taken to rapping. Their style is swag, their trajectory is steep. Buckle up.

The OFWGTA shuttle-bandwagon to planet Rapetune is filling up fast. Rap Genius has handcuffed itself to the control panel and we’re awaiting lift-off.

OFWGKTA is simply the most talented new rap group to come along in years. Hip hop’s avant-garde just got 10 more members.

OFWGKTA started with Tyler (hence, “The Creator”) and Jasper Dolphin, just skating around and making videos for youtube. Another frontliner, Casey Veggies, does his own thing nowadays.

Somewhere in between they picked up Left Brain (and of course Tyler’s brother Earl) as well as Domo Genesis (who released “Rolling Papers” last year).

The clique boasts not only rappers, but producers, photographers, skaters, visual artists, rebels, misfits, cyberthugs, potty-mouths, mopery enthusiasts and attention-whores.

Comparisons to other rap groups do more harm than good. Goodie Mobb? The Pharcyde? The Roots? Those groups do their own thing.

The only valid philosophical precursor is Wu Tang Clan — who supported Odd Future early on..

Mark our words: OFWG is bound to have millions of clones running around just like them in the next several years. By 2015, their streak of teenagerism will seem more played out than a Martin Lawrence movie. You’ve been warned.

Here’s 4 Odd Future trends to keep a bloodshot eye on.

Odd Future Number 4: No more silly dances or skinny jeans

If you’re like me, then you’re not a fan of the Cali jerk dancing,’ skinny-jeans craze (for men). I mean, only a few can pull them off, and even that gets the side-eye from me more than half of the time. OFWG’s Tyler the Creator has spoken disparagingly about this effeminate meme on several different occasions..

I try my best not to judge those boys who do choose to wear skinny jeans because now that I have OFWG to do that for me, in songs like “Seven”, no love is lost:

Maybe I should buy some hundreds, wear some fuckin’ skinny jeans
And follow in your footsteps like a motherfuckin’ millipede
Centipede, make songs about Gucci and cigaweed
Jerk with my friends like it’s some mother fuckin’ little league

Odd Future Number 3: Infatuated with the effect of shock-value

Swastikas, constant black/white references, murder and rape are the tactics the most-publicized members of the group (Earl Sweatshirt and Tyler the Creator) use to provide their audience with possibly the greatest modern-day shock-value in hip-hop history. Their humor is dry, their style is raunchy and their demeanor is unpredictable. You never know what the next line may be, as demonstrated in Earl Sweatshirt’s “Kill”:

Rippin’ out braids with bare hands amazes
The crowd, go crazy, hands raised, I’m laced with
Swag by the eighth in case you wanna taste it
Faggots wear Prada, Satan wears Aryn K shit
Hell’s angel, crack Christ ‘cross the face
With erasers and use Based God as his replacement
Super Saiyan with ruthless slayin’s
Eat puss, sweet puss got my tooth decayin’

Odd Future Number 2: “How to Be a Cyberthug”

OFWG’s engagement in cyber-feuds with the popular hip-hop blogs NahRight and2DopeBoyz has gotten OFWG some attention. Supposedly, it all began when OFWG began making their rounds to hip-hop blogs, and 2Dopzboyz/NahRight refused to post any of their records.

From there, OFWG took this disheartening news to wax — and they are keeping the barrage in operation:

Happily, Rap Genius is on extremely good terms with Odd Future..

Odd Future Number 1: Know where your kids are

No one knows where the hell Earl is. That is, except for the members of OFWG. It’s been hypothesized that he’s either in jail, bootcamp, or on house arrest. Either way, the crew of OFWG has not forgotten about their boy and constantly post photos and art declaring their wounded loss.

Once Earl returns from outer-space or his sex change operation or wherever he went, it is only a matter of time before OFWG swags out the entire globe. The music is psychotic; the lyrics bionic; the future looks odd.

Certain lame media reps have already payed homage to the oddness that is OFWG but these fake indie fairies fill their OFWG analysis with numerous comparisons to ICP of all the fucking things. The fumbling inadequacy of established media caused us to fantasize about shoving an ungreased pitchfork into Sean Fennessy’s anus while choking him out with the cord from his Mac Book. Only then, we decided that Sean might like that.

Deconstructing OFWG the group in 2011 is like trying to deconstruct N.W.A in 1988 or the Beastie Boys in 1986. It can’t be done to anyone’s (including the group’s) satisfaction.

Tickets for the 8 P.M. were offered on a firs-come first serve basis and the line grew unruly around 6 P.M., roughly three hours after the line began to form.

A manager of a nearby Jimmy John’s claims he was assaulted by an intoxicated fan, as he attempted to clear a way for customers to enter his establishment.

Despite this isolated incident,Boulder police spokeswoman Kim Kobel claims no one else was assaulted.

In the midst of the crowd unruliness, Tyler attempted to ease the tensions through his Twitter account with an equalizing proposition:

Monday’s free show was the first free show Fox Theatre has put out in five years.

“This is the reason we normally don’t do free shows,” Operational Manager of Fox Theatre Brian Carp said.

The eccentric MC is prepping his 3rd solo album, Wolf to be released on April 2nd. The new season of Odd Future’s Loiter Squad sketch comedey show returned this past Sunday (March 10th).

What did we get up to this week? We tried to keep it danceable yet deep, switching between the ones and twos. There are some great life lessons to be had from this show so listen close my dears.

This song is such a relaxing song to listen to. Unlike a lot of Tyler, The Creator’s music, which is relaxed but still not this relaxed, this one is nice and laid back. The lyrics, yet again, are genius throughout. But really, you can’t expect anything less from Odd Future. They’re madmen on the mics with how fluid their lyrics are. (For example, give “Everything That’s Yours by Mike G a listen). It’s ridiculous just how good they are. Really, I recommend anything by them. Especially their CD “Radical,” which is where the Mike G song and this song are from. “Orange Juice” is also from this CD. This CD is loaded with great music. This is one of the best ones out there from three of the best rappers out there.

Full of OF cameos and super fun antics, Tyler’s new track comes just in time for Valentines Day.

Odd Future videos are always a trip, and the video for “Domo 23″, a new cut from Tyler, the Creator is no exception.

To help him cause his mayhem, Mister Creator enlists his raucous posse for a good ol’-fashioned WWE smackdown, trailer-trash style.

Here’s just a few of the things you’ll see in this thing:

• An announcer talking in an indecipherable mumble.
• Tyler getting stomped by a rather overweight gentleman.
• Tyler spitting in said gentleman’s face.
• Domo Genesis breaking up some weed in the ring.
• Odd Future manager Christian Clancy giving you the middle finger.
• Earl Sweatshirt doing a little dance in full referee regalia.

At 3:37, the video cuts from “Domo 23″ to Tyler’s skater/couple love track Bimmer, which sports a Frank Ocean assist.

“Domo 23″ is the first single off Tyler’s sophomore album, Wolf, which will be released on April 2nd. There’s no tracklist yet, but we do have three different sets of cover art; two for the store releases, and one limited-edition cover done by Los Angeles artist Mark Ryden (who’s cover art resume includes such prestigious line items as Michael Jackson’s Dangerous).

Odd Future ringleader Tyler, The Creator has released a new video for his song, “Domo 23,” and, as usual, it’s entertaining and creative. Tyler stars as a zany-haired wrestler taking on Domo Genesis, with Earl Sweatshirt as the referee. The song is off his upcoming third solo album, Wolf. On Twitter, Tyler name-checked Missy Elliott and Busta Rhymes as people he wants to see this video. It does look he’s got their wacky, awesome swag going on in this one. [tc-mark]

In the wake of labelmate Frank Ocean‘s success at the 55th annual Grammy Award ceremony, the Odd Future boss gives us a peek into his upcoming WOLF album with the release of a song and video starring, shot and scored by…Wolf Haley himself. In typical OF fashion, the crew gets rowdy, this time at a wrestling match in “Domo 23“.
