I picked up my copy of D Magazine yesterday to see the 10 “Style Setters” in the city and I got a big surprise! I don’t think anyone born after 1985 was on the list. Not that the list  had to be filled with the fashionable Dallas youth, but they could have included some stylish early 20 year old. Anyway, I did like four of the ten style setters on the list and think their looks were cool. Time Flannery creative director of advertising for Neiman Marcus (that’s what I want to be!) looked mad posh! I think it’s the Cole Haans that set the look off. Nicole Musselman Boykin designer and owner of Koch Clothing and Handbags was the best dressed of all the females on the list! She’s wearing he own shorts (Koch), American Apparel tee, paired with Fendi pumps and a kick ass Moss Mills belt. She so looks like a Dallas chic.

Donald Fowler is a buyer for Stanley Korshak’s Home Shop and he so looks like a Etro man! 

I’ve heard a lot about Geoffrey Henning, but I didn’t know he was the design director for JCPenny. I think his look is just plain cool.

Well, this is just disgusting.  The following is a video captured on a flight back from the DNC, of former DNC chairman Don Fowler and Representative John Spratt (D-SC) (transcript below):

The hurricane’s going to hit New Orleans about the time they start. [Chuckle] The timing is — at least it appears now that it’ll be there Monday. That just demonstrates that God’s on our side. [Laughter] … Everything’s cool.

That’s just disturbing.  I don’t care who you are – you shouldn’t want a hurricane to hit EVER, and to want to get political gain out of it is just disgusting.  If a Republican said that, I’d be posting the same thing right now.  It’s shameful and wrong!

Mr. Fowler and Ms. Germond,

I am going to set aside my suspicion that you are attempting to use reverse psychology to sabotage Obama’s (abhorrent) candidacy via the recently-leaked letter you originally sent to top Democratic Party donors. Instead, I write this reply to you based on the assumption that the thuggish, authoritarian assholery you displayed in your missive is genuine, and can sum-up my view of your behavior succinctly: “Go fuck yourselves. With a knife.”

Now to expand on that thought…

I don’t do business with companies that provide me with shoddy goods and/or services. Instead, I withhold my money and substitute it with unkind words (both spoken and written) about the vendor which I convey to family members, friends, co-workers, and employees of the offending company. And I often follow-up with punitive action against the company in question.

I devote a great deal of time haranguing my way upwards through corporate hierarchies in order to have my issue or issues addressed and resolved in a manner that meets my standards, not those of the business that has displeased me. And even when I’m eventually satisfied, I don’t enter into any future transactions with the corporation in question.

Consider yourself a member of Democrats, Inc. and consider me a disgruntled customer who has taken his business elsewhere.

The Democratic Party doesn’t have a monopoly on liberal voters; hell, it doesn’t even seem to have an interest in providing us with a decent product, just insulting us while pumping us for money and votes.

It won’t be getting either from me. Relay that to your company’s CEO, Barack Obama, its COO, Howard Dean, and the board of directors known as the DNC. Feel free to pass it along to the middle managers in Congress, too.

On a final note: When Republicans told me on September 11th, 2001 that whether I liked it or not, Bush was in the White House and we liberals needed to set aside our political views, shut up, and fall in line behind him and them, I told them to fuck off. Did you really think that I — and millions of like-minded others — would hesitate to say the same thing to you?
