等了十一週，在唱片公司巧妙的策略下，Don’t Forget About Us終於封王，成為Mariah Carey第17首冠軍單曲。果然沒讓大家失望，這張”解放咪咪”重新發行的的白金加值盤也更有價值了。事實上當初Mariah錄完這首歌之後，有意打算要放在他的下一張專輯裡，但是唱片公司老闆認為這是一首hot & fresh的單曲，絕對不能等到下一張，於是決定”重新解放咪咪”(騙肖喔…想賺錢就說啊！)。

這種策略在去年Usher的Confessions專輯也被採用。去年當Usher這張超級冠軍專輯推出三首冠軍單曲 (Yeah!、Burn、以及Confessions II) 之後，唱片公司發行慶功加值版，裡面加收錄了與傳聞中女友Alicia Keys深情對唱的My Boo，由於話題十足造勢成功以及歌曲本身好聽到爆，這首新單曲也順勢登上Hot 100的冠軍寶座，成為這張專輯的第四首No. 1。

而此次Island唱片公司推出Don’t Forget About Us時採取先點撥後銷售的策略，因此前十週的成績都是只有靠點撥率苦撐(十週苦撐到第二名真的很苦)；接著在12/13當天，同時在網路上發行五種混音版的數位下載，結果將銷售數字完全累計到這個禮拜，也一口氣將這首歌推上冠軍寶座。由於先靠點撥苦撐的緣故，這首Don’t Forget About Us也成為咪咪最慢奪冠的單曲。

特別的是這首歌請來了許多知名的DJ跨刀混音，放眼咪咪過去的混音史 (Mariah比較多嘻哈混音，電音版真的比較少，也比較不嗨～)，這次的Don’t Forget About Us算是Mimi單曲混音版中陣容最堅強的一次吧。被唱片公司正式發行的電音版本有Tony Moran & Warren Rigg的Dance Floor Anthem、Ralphi & Craig Martini的Vocal Remix、Quentin Shelter的Anthem Mix，另外還有咪咪擅長的嘻哈版本Juelz Santana & Bone Thugs-N-Hormony Remix、以及繼We Belong Together之後再度攜手合作的DJ Clue的Remix Part 2。

老實說真的不敢奢望DFAU會平了We Belong Together的十四週，畢竟要造就WBT這樣的經典真的是要天時地利人和。而目前Mariah已經與貓王Elvis並列為擁有冠軍單曲最多的個人藝人，不過由於Elvis於1956年的冠軍雙單曲Don’t Be Cruel/Hound Dog被支持貓王的死忠歌迷認為是兩首單曲，因此許多人堅稱Elvis有18首冠軍。但是Billboard官方宣佈雙單曲應該以一首來計算，所以認定Mimi已經平了Elvis保持的記錄。而經典團體Beatles保持的的20首冠軍單曲的最高記錄，就在眼前了；眾多咪咪的歌迷，讓我們一起期待吧!!!

另外值得一提的是，在Don’t Forget About Us的MV中，Mariah還特地模仿了偶像Marilyn Monroe在電影Something’s Got To Give裡泳池出浴的畫面；加上咪咪使出渾身解數的搔首弄姿，這首Don’t Forget About Us的音樂錄影帶還真的是給她三八到極點。我想問的是，為什麼MV都可以拍的那麼瘦!?
