Siempre auto-mentalízate de no te afectará, la información pasara sin causar ni dejar ningún tipo de efectos en tu inconsciente y si consideras que te conviene puedes incluso rechazar la información, al negarla le restas PODER.

Cuando el Oráculo le dijo a Yocasta que el niño que acababa de parir mataría su esposo el rey Laio y cometería incesto con ella misma, ésta sintió MIEDO y ordenó que lo mataran, el rey mismo estuvo de acuerdo con tan escandalosa decisión. FUE EL MIEDO A LO QUE SUPUESTAMENTE PASARÍA EN EL FUTURO lo que les motivó a dejar de sentir amor y compasión por un ser indefenso y fruto de sus cuerpos.

Sin embargo, el criado que recibe la orden de matar al bebé siente esa compasión y le deja vivo abandonándolo, luego un pastor le encuentra y lo lleva con sus amos los reyes de Corinto quienes le adoptan. Al crece Edipo oye un rumor sobre sus padres y lleno de curiosidad decide visitar al oráculo quien le dice lo mismo que a su verdadera madre, MATARÁS A TU PADRE Y TE ACOSTARÁS CON TU MADRE. Edipo sintió MIEDO y creyendo que sus verdaderos padre son los reyes de Corinto decide huir para evitar que se haga realidad la profecía del Oráculo. En el camino se encuentra con un hombre que le provoca y le agrede, Edipo se defiende y lo mata, el hombre era Laio, su padre.

Sigue su camino y sin saberlo regresa a su pueblo de origen que sufría una maldición, Edipo sintió compasión por esa gente y les salvó, la recompensa era la mano de la viuda reina Yocasta, con quien se casó y finalmente se acostó.

Fue el MIEDO ante las profecías del Oráculo lo que motivó a Yocasta y Laio tomar la decisión de matar a su hijo Edipo, y fue el mismo MIEDO de las mismas profecías del mismo Oráculo lo que provocó que Edipo huyera y terminará matando a su padre y acostandose con su madre SIN SABER QUIENES ERAN.

As time goes by,

I realised there are just too many things in this life that I need to handle. I need to know, I need to understand, I need to cope and I need to get over it if I want to survive.

I don’t understand what has happened in my life so far, but as I grow older, I found more hurtful phenomenon.

I found more obstacles, more discrimination, more tears, more who bleed…

This week, I learnt about two things:

1. World has changed just too much.

New viruses, outbreaks, H1N1, disasters, wars… lengthy yet ironically being overlooked by most of us. Does this show our world has changed to the extent that we could not even understand it anymore? Is it our fault? Or the world just simply changed?

I guess the world has indeed altered into something that I could not imagine what it would be in the next 10 years if these disastrous phenomenons keep happening.

2. Life-beings – humans, animals, plants – are just too ancient

Everyone perceived with the technological advances, we are labeled as modern society. Modern human-beings. But do you really believe that is the state we humans are currently hold?

I don’t see anything like that. We are just too old, too ancient, too long. We are worn out.

Life without technologies would leave us stupid. Life without competitions is not supposed to be in modern life.We are too ancient compared to all the technologies we’ve ourselves created for ourselves.

Within one month, can you imagine how many new gadgets being produced to accompany us in this country? But, have you ever wondered how many of them actually save our lives and make our lives to be better? Let me repeat myself, better! Convenient doesn’t mean it is Better.

Mobile phone, mp3 player, e-book, plasma tv, laptop, etc… All these do you really think it makes our life better? Everyday, they produced new design, new feature, new price etc.. but how much damage have these gadgets give to our ancient self?

phone – radiation caused cancer?

mp3player – blast out more to your ears and your ears capabilities to listen is gonna be like our old aunt.

e-book – eyes?

How about the waste of these products after they are thrown away every time we purchase a new cooler design product?

I am sure you who read this is mature enough to know what it ‘contribute’ to our environment.

When every month we have our new gadget being produced, does anyone even care with new disease being found or those long-history disease that have not received much focus by the government? We just don’t care, we care about what we’ll wear, what will be hanging on our body..

Take an example of “psoriasis”. How many of you know about this disease? How much have people done to research on  this disease? How much have been forked out by the government to take a look of this disease to find possible cure?

Others are too busy with politics, technologies, fashion, lifestyle, entertainment, education while ignoring the basic.

TO SURVIVE and LIVE ON…

To be cooperative and help our other fellows to survive. Create an environment where we can all live together. Support each other basic need in life. Physically – health, emotionally – love and religions.

Do you think 2012 is really a dooms day? It has been refuted by the authorities that the maya calendar does not say that it will be our doomsday.

A lot of people have watched the infamous 2010 movie by now I bet (though I have not). What do you guys think about doomsday?

I don’t know when, but I believe that our world and life-beings in this world are just too ‘chui’ (damaged) to continue living, running and surviving.

Shouldn’t there just be doomsday? when everyone is just being scrapped together with this world as He remake a new fresh one? I wonder…

Or should we find that silver lining and start to change ourselves. Change our focus of life not only as a “pursue higher and higher” but “pursue balance and harmony”?

Allow me to laugh for a minute ..(HAHAHAHAHAH).. Thank you, that was fun.

The idea that the world would end 2012 was always ridiculous, but the idea that some old mayan fuck has predicted it was even funnier, because they couldnt even predict their own demise. But a couple of weeks ago, real scientists interpreted the mayan calender that was predicting this “end of the world”. And found out that the actual date of this change(thats what it says) that was to occur was 2220, meaning a couple of hundred years from now.

Now, not only did they make a really expensive(albeit terribly bad) movie about it, these doomsday prophets actually made several(some really good) websites about it.

So what do we do now? The mayans are wrong, but the 2012 people can fall back on other “prophecies”. Me, I dont really know, or care what will happen in 2012. If we die, we die, if not, I’m not going to celebrate either way.

Ragnarok, also known as Gotterdammerung, will begin when the god Skoll devours the sun and plunges the world into darkness. The Midgard Serpent, Jormungand, will rise from the depths and bring waves crashing down across the land, while the Giants set sail for battle with Hymir as their lord. Loki will lead the warriors of hell from the underworld, followed by the Fire Giant Surt wielding his mighty blazing sword. Against these legions of darkness, Heimdall, the guardian of Bifrost, will sound the great horn Gjallar, calling Odin, the Gods of Asgard, and the Heroes of Valhalla to the final battle. And so it will be, at the End of Days.

Also, bear in mind that the Norse Gods really know how to party, so don’t be surprised if Thor drops by your Doomsday celebration to grab a cold one on his way to lay the hammer on Jormungand (and even if he doesn’t, be sure to set a 6-pack aside in his honor).

Well, I’m thinking that now would be the ideal time for me to start a poppin’ new blog seeing as how the world around me is topsy-turvy.   Thanksgiving Day is a two days away and then it’s all downhill to Christmastime again.  Where did my year go?  Where have my years gone?  I figure now’s a good time to stop and document what’s happening around me before it’s suddenly Christmas 2010 and I really won’t know what the hell happened to my life.  Two years closer to doomsday is also no bueno in my book.

The lovely ladies (and Tegan) located in the photograph on the upper right hand side are my friends.  Some could call them a posse, I like to think of them as my comrades.  Sometimes we meet up and have good times with a wide assortment of cheap and semi-cheap beers and other liquors.  Every other weekend I take a stand and tell myself that I’m going to stop drinking.  We’ll see when that actually happens (fingers crossed!).  I occupy my time 8 to 5, Monday through Friday sitting at a computer talking to real estate agents on the phone in Georgia.  Someday my eyes will be terrible but at least I’ll have browsed more blogs than the average man my age.  I like to think that 40% of my life is film, which is pretty much true, I just need to get busy.

That being said, this blog is here for you to read.  Time to get busy.

Basic science tells us that to every action there is an equal & opposing reaction. It follows with the natural law of phenomenon of cause & effect. So with solving any problem, consideration lies with the cause not the effect – treating the cause & not the effect is the only logical solution.

US Dollar Being Shot At! Greenspan?

Do you remember the 1970s era of the Pyramid Marketing Schemes as deviously ingeniously devised by the Americans, particularly from the home ground of Utah? There was this mushrooming of the “Get Rich Quick” concept with ‘Holiday Magic’ spearheading & exploding the marketplace. It adversely affected the pockets & lives of many a home & individual. It was banned in Singapore & became restricted, operating as a Multi-Level Marketing Scheme. There are still such Multi-Level Marketing companies around, and in reality all its productivities benefit largely the company itself – the distributors getting the crumbs & pittance. Calling a rose by any other name still makes it smell the same.

Unlike the conservative British, the Americans are undoubtedly the most innovative & progressive with propitious modern ideas of marketing. In a word, they are the greatest “wheelers-dealers”! They preach & practise this philosophy right to the extreme – with success objective at all costs. The underlying theory maybe sound, but in practice it’s invariably unsound, as individuals have differential capability & capacity.

The Americans are famous for their doomsday & catastrophic shows on the big screen. This time they really hit the real thing – from Wall Street to the Main Street. But it’s not confined or restricted just to the American scene – it’s so monumental that the global economy is reeling & hurting. The cause of the Pyramid practice has evolved & resulted into the Domino effect. Like in a masquerade ball, the Americans have been wearing those loose cloaks with masks to cover up their faces.

Who’s to be blamed? Bush then & now Obama administration would like to attribute the alleged root of this economic crisis to the market itself – speculators, hedge funds, greedy bankers & lax regulators. Passing the buck does not eradicate the fact that it’s one Monumental Policy Failure on the part of the US government.

We are witnessing history unfolding right before our eyes. Two monumental things are glaringly obvious:

1. A dangerous collapse or near breakdown of the capitalist             financial system.

2. A massive outpouring of Free Money by the US government in   bailing out the “Big Boys” who are the real culprits of this             economic calamity. Hundreds of billions are spent in bailing out   the key major players – not at all benefiting the average American & sending the budget deficits going through the roof.

This Monumental Policy Failure of expanding money supply & credit growth is fuelling the economy negatively. The economy is imploding within with the exploding of endless printing of paper money. These two colossal events of the past 24 months with the collapse of Wall Street in 2008 & the irrational response of Washington in the outpouring of free money & the Federal Reserve printing money without restraint.

What happened initially with the huge speculative real estate bubble, which not even Greenspan nor Bernanke would now deny, has triggered off the ramification of the banking problems & the recession.

Many of us to be sure must remember the worthlessness of the Japanese money during the Japanese Occupation in both Malaya & Singapore. The Japanese were also running their printing press overtime to finance their warfare & occupation. Now in the present era, just ask any Zimbabwean what a billion or million dollar note is worth in his country.

US dollar is not backed by anything, not gold or silver or any tangible commodities and with its paper money running off the press like crazy, what can you expect of its worthiness in the final analysis? The confidence of the world for its currency is at a critical point, and all it takes is 24 hours for all the other nations to drop its use as the currency reserve.

As said, US may well be destroyed from within & from without – the wrath & non-confidence of the world may be brought to bear down on US all within the hours before the wake of Wall Street.

One Nobel Prize winning economist predicts a run on the dollar as “Probably the kind of disorderly run that precipitates a global financial crisis . . . ” while other monetary experts now warn “We are in the terminal stages of the world’s most gigantic pyramid scheme.”

To be forewarned is to be forearmed.

woke up from a pretty vivid dream. Almost a nightmare, not quite sure of what it is. But it is kind of funny, if only to me. In my dreams I always have realizations that shake me from ever doing anything that I am afraid of. In this case it was something simple. It was something that I used to enjoy, Something I would do listening to music, and something that made my life alot more exciting, yet a little too exciting for even me.

My nightmares are like Kandinsky paintings

I am offered a little something green. I feel fine. I am hanging out with people from work, and some of mine and Lisa’s friends. Then all of a sudden I start….thinking. I tell this one overdramatic girl, that I usually don’t partake because I have a condition called thought broadcasting. She doesn’t believe me. So I say. watch this. This is so vivid, that I had to write it down. Yes, thats right it is 5:20 and I have just woken up from a stoner dream.

Alright back to the dream. So there I am, and there she is. And she doesn’t believe me that I can thought broadcast or whatever. I am still laughing in my head, when I think of some of the things here. O.K, So I let out a thought, and like a shot gun, it goes right into her head. And she starts immediately crying. Not a bullet, just a thought. She looks at me like I am some kind of freak, and runs off.

At this point, I realize that I can’t partake in this american past time around people, so I get back to my little place. By myself, I sit down, and turn on the radio, I hear some lousy local radio station playing some shit hip-hop. I feel the beat, and I start to begin to free style. At this point I begin my free style, and the DJ tells me “to shut the fuck up”. I say outloud to him, “just play the music little monkey man” He starts talking on the radio, and begins to threaten me. It’s almost like the Warriors, when they are accused of killing the “can you dig it guy”, and that lipsticked woman, keeps giving clues to where the Warriors live, and how to find them, and to take care of them. So the DJ says he is going to find me, or other people will hunt me down, like a goddamn witch hunt. So like my head tends to do, like a nervous tick, in my head, I start yelling my street address, and where to find me. All of a sudden, I am back to where I was when that girl caught a thought broadcast. She and everyone of my friends ditches me leaving only, a bullet proof vest, and my bag. And I say “hey can I atleast get a ride?” I begin to walk, and I see, a friend of mine, and another girl, with a tennis racket and a headband on. And they are out for blood. So, my friends start chasing me to this like hotel pool area, and we begin fighting. This one mercenary guy comes after me, someone who is after me, and I begin to do all this weird martial arts stuff on him. I nearly drown him in the water, and break his hand. He asks “wow, what is that move, that really hurts” and I say “I don’t know, I just know how to do it.” We both contemplate on how awesome these moves are for a second then after I break his hand… I am back at my little place.
My place is a room that reoccurs in my dreams, it looks like an office, with a pool table. Everything is wood, there is that cold feeling when I get in this room. Anyway, I walk into the room, and put the TV on, and there is a town meeting on. Or more like a live news address. I start talking to the TV. Everyone flips out. All of a sudden, everyone starts panicking screaming “he’s back, he’s back”. And I say out loud to the TV, something to the effect of “what the f? chill out”, or something to this one guy who points in the air like he is seeing Godzilla. In my dreams I am amazed at how idiotic all these people are. All of a sudden, this ridiculous dooms day bell starts ringing, syncopated like on the news. Anyway this bell is ringing, and its on every local news channel, and people start selling anything I have ever owned, or burning it i like it is cursed.
And all because I took a toke. I had a few tokes. and all of a sudden, people are afraid of me, DJ’s are after me, sending mercenaries after me that I fight off with sweet incredible kung fu skills, people are afraid of me and the dooms day bell starts ringing. So basically my brain is telling me if I smoke ever again, I will bring about a doomsday like scenario, where I do have sweet free styles, and sweet moves, yet also bring about the destruction of the planet, according to the home shopping network and channel 5.

that ladies and gentleman is why I don’t smoke weed. I woke up exactly at 5:20 and had to laugh. I guess, it is because I am over everything 4:20…and if you don’t understand this dream, and it sounds a little crazy, remember I dreamed it, and tried to recall everything as best as I could so (middle finger in the air) I am going back to bed.

However in real life, an update about me, I am healthier and more sound then I have ever been…My dreams are just a little effed up.

Throughout history, there have been those who have predicted the Coming of the End, the Consummation of All Things, the Return of Christ, Armageddon, Ragnarok, what-have-you. The majority of these seers and prognosticators were wise enough to leave the date unspecified, presumably to avoid embarrassment when the expected event failed to materialize. Others, such as Nostradamus and Bishop Ussher, put the date far into the future, long after their corporeal bodies had returned to dust.

There are those few brave souls, however, who are willing to stick their necks out, and give us a date in the near future, when they themselves will presumably still be around to either bask in the glow of glory, or suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, should the cosmic plan go awry. It is to these, the few, the brave and most importantly, the Web-enabled that this list is dedicated.

Sebelum Terjadinya Kiamat, Akan Muncul Tanda-Tanda Terlebih Dahulu

Ketika menjelaskan tentang hadits Jibril yang datang dengan penambilan Arab Badui dan bertanya pada Nabi shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam tentang kapan terjadinya hari kiamat, Syaikhul Islam Ibnu Taimiyah mengatakan,

“Nabi shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam telah mengabarkan bahwa beliau sendiri tidak mengetahui tentang kapan terjadinya kiamat dibanding dengan yang bertanya. Orang yang bertanya tersebut nampak seperti orang Arab Badui dan Nabi shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam baru mengetahui bahwa dia adalah Jibril setelah dia pergi. Ketika menjawab pertanyaan kapankah kiamat terjadi, Nabi shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam menyangka bahwa bahwa orang itu adalah Arab Badui. Apabila Nabi shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam saja mengatakan tentang dirinya bahwa beliau tidak mengetahui kapan terjadinya hari kiamat dibanding Arab Badui tadi, maka lebih-lebih lagi dengan orang-orang selain beliau tidak pantas untuk mengetahui hal itu. Anehnya lagi, Al Qur’an dan hadits Nabi menyatakan bahwa kiamat itu memiliki tanda-tanda sebelumnya dan itu amatlah banyak yang datang satu demi satu. Namun ketika waktu sesuai dengan prediksi mereka datang, anehnya tidak ada satu pun tanda-tanda kiamat yang muncul.”[3] Itulah anehnya. Padahal Nabi shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam menjelaskan bahwa kiamat itu akan datang setelah muncul beberapa tanda sebagaimana disebutkan dalam hadits Hudzaifah bin Asid Al Ghifariy,

“Nabi shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam memperhatikan kami ketika berbincang-bincang. Beliau berkata, ‘Apa yang sedang kalian perbincangkan?’ Kami menjawab, ‘Kami sedang berbincang-bincang tentang hari kiamat.’ Beliau berkata, ‘Tidak akan terjadi hari kiamat hingga kalian melihat sepuluh tanda.’ Beliau menyebutkan, ’[1] Dukhan (asap), [2] Dajjal, [3] Daabah, [4] terbitnya matahari dari barat, [5] turunnya Isa ‘alaihis salam, [6] keluarnya Ya’juj dan Ma’juj, [7,8,9] terjadinya tiga gerhana yaitu di timur, barat dan di jazirah Arab, yang terakhir adalah [10] keluarnya api dari Yaman yang menggiring manusia ke tempat berkumpulnya mereka’.”[4]

Nabi ‘Isa sendiri turun kembali ke muka bumi dan beliau tinggal selama 40 tahun lamanya. Dari Abu Hurairah, Nabi shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam bercerita mengenai Nabi ‘Isa.

“Nabi ‘Isa tinggal di muka bumi selama 40 tahun kemudian meninggal dan dishalatkan oleh kaum muslimin.”[5] Dari sini, mungkinkah kiamat terjadi tahun 2012?!

Perlu diketahui bahwa berdasarkan berbagai dalil dari Al Qur’an dan As Sunnah, para ulama membagi tanda hari kiamat menjadi dua macam yaitu tanda shughro (kecil) dan tanda kubro (besar). Tanda kiamat shughro sendiri ada yang telah terjadi dan ada yang belum terjadi, ada pula yang berlangsung bukan sekali bahkan terus menerus dan lama kelamaan tanda tersebut lebih banyak terjadi dari waktu-waktu sebelumnya.

Secara lebih lengkap, tanda-tanda kiamat dapat dibagi menjadi empat macam:

Pertama, tanda shughro yang pernah terjadi dan telah berakhir. Contohnya adalah diutusnya Nabi shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam dan terbelahnya bulan.

Kedua, tanda shughro yang terus menerus terjadi dan berulang. Contohnya adalah menyerahkan amanah kepada orang yang bukan ahlinya, muncul para pendusta yang mengaku sebagai nabi, muncul wanita-wanita yang berpakaian namun hakekatnya telanjang dan merebaknya perzinaan.

Ketiga, tanda shughro yang belum terjadi. Contohnya adalah tanah Arab akan menjadi subur dan penuh pengairan.

Keempat, tanda kubro, artinya bila tanda-tanda ini muncul, maka kiamat sebentar lagi akan tiba. Di antara tanda tersebut adalah munculnya Dajjal. Akhirnya Dajjal pun dibunuh oleh Nabi ‘Isa. Kemudian muncul pula Ya’juj dan Ma’juj di zaman Nabi ‘Isa. Ya’juj dan Ma’juj juga dimusnahkan oleh Nabi ‘Isa.

Pengetahuan Kiamat dalam pandangan islam…

Beberapa kelompok dari seluruh dunia sedang berkumpul dan mulai menghitung mundur tanggal misterius yang telah dinanti-nanti ratusan tahun: 21 Desember 2012. Berbagai kelompok dari Amerika, Kanada dan Eropa, para pengikut sekte apokaliptis (kiamat) dan beberapa individu mengatakan bahwa hari tersebut adalah hari terakhir dunia ini.

Mereka yang percaya bahwa kiamat akan terjadi pada 21 Desember 2012, mendasarkan kepercayaan mereka pada kalender yang dibuat oleh suku Maya, yang ditemukan di reruntuhan di Meksiko. Masyarakat Maya Kuno, yang dikenal maju ilmu matematika dan astronominya, mengikuti “perhitungan panjang” kalender yang mencapai 5126 tahun. Ketika peta astronomi mereka dipindahkan ke kalender Gregorian, yang digunakan secara standar sekarang, waktu perhitungan bangsa Maya berhenti pada 21 Desember 2012. Mereka yang percaya juga mengatakan adanya hubungan lain selain antara kalender maya dan kehancuran yang akan datang. Matahari akan terhubung lurus dengan pusat Tata Surya pertama kalinya semenjak 26000 tahun yang lalu, yang menandai puncak musim dingin. Beberapa orang mengatakan hal ini akan mempengaruhi aliran energi ke bumi, atau karena adanya sunspot dan sunflare yang jumlahnya membengkak, menyebabkan adanya efek terhadap medan magnet bumi.

Tukang ramal Indonesia, Mama Lauren pun sempat angkat bicara di transTV bahwa paranormal tidak bisa menembus tahun 2013 (hanya mentok di 2012).

Apakah betul prediksi kiamat 2012? Semoga ajaran Islam yang haq bisa mengungkapkannya. Hanya Allah yang memberi kemudahan dan taufik.

Tidak Ada yang Mengetahui Kapan Datangnya Hari Kiamat

Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam pernah ditanya oleh malaikat Jibril yang datang dalam wujud seorang Arab Badui, beliau ditanya mengenai kapan hari kiamat terjadi. Lantas beliau menjawab,

مَا الْمَسْئُولُ عَنْهَا بِأَعْلَمَ مِنَ السَّائِلِ

“Orang yang ditanya tidak lebih tahu dari yang bertanya.”[1]

Sungguh sangat mengherankan yang terjadi saat ini. Beberapa kelompok atau tukang ramal yang sudah pasti suka berdusta, ada yang mengetahui kapan terjadinya kiamat. Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam sendiri tidak mengetahui terjadinya hari kiamat, padahal beliau adalah orang yang paling dekat dengan Allah. Begitu pula malaikat Jibril selaku penyampai wahyu dari Allah juga tidak mengetahui kapan terjadinya hari kiamat. Jika Nabi yang paling mulia dan malaikat yang mulia saja tidak mengetahui tanggal, bulan atau tahun terjadinya hari kiamat, sudah sepantasnya orang selain keduanya tidak mengetahui hal tersebut.

Perlu ditegaskan pula bahwa waktu terjadinya hari kiamat termasuk perkara ghoib dan menjadi kekhususan Allah yang mengetahuinya. Sehingga sungguh sangat dusta jika beberapa paranormal (yang sebenarnya tidak normal) bisa menentukan waktu tersebut, baik Mama Laurent, suku Maya di Meksiko atau pun yang lainnya. Ingatlah, hanya Allah yang mengetahui terjadinya kiamat.

يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَاهَا قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِنْدَ رَبِّي لا يُجَلِّيهَا لِوَقْتِهَا إِلا هُوَ ثَقُلَتْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأرْضِ لا تَأْتِيكُمْ إِلا بَغْتَةً يَسْأَلُونَكَ كَأَنَّكَ حَفِيٌّ عَنْهَا قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لا يَعْلَمُونَ

“Mereka menanyakan kepadamu tentang kiamat: “Kapan terjadinya?” Katakanlah: “Sesungguhnya pengetahuan tentang kiamat itu adalah pada sisi Rabbku; tidak seorang pun yang dapat menjelaskan waktu kedatangannya selain Dia. Kiamat itu amat berat (huru-haranya bagi makhluk) yang di langit dan di bumi. Kiamat itu tidak akan datang kepadamu melainkan dengan tiba-tiba”. Mereka bertanya kepadamu seakan-akan kamu benar-benar mengetahuinya. Katakanlah: “Sesungguhnya pengetahuan tentang hari kiamat itu adalah di sisi Allah, tetapi kebanyakan manusia tidak mengetahui”.” (QS. Al A’raf: 187)

يَسْأَلُكَ النَّاسُ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّ السَّاعَةَ تَكُونُ قَرِيبًا

“Manusia bertanya kepadamu tentang hari berbangkit. Katakanlah: “Sesungguhnya pengetahuan tentang hari berbangkit itu hanya di sisi Allah”. Dan tahukah kamu (hai Muhammad), boleh jadi hari berbangkit itu sudah dekat waktunya.” (QS. Al Ahzab: 63)

يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَاهَا, فِيمَ أَنْتَ مِنْ ذِكْرَاهَا, إِلَى رَبِّكَ مُنْتَهَاهَا

“(Orang-orang kafir) bertanya kepadamu (Muhammad) tentang hari berbangkit, kapankah terjadinya?. Siapakah kamu (sehingga) dapat menyebutkan (waktunya). Kepada Rabbmulah dikembalikan kesudahannya (ketentuan waktunya).” (QS. An Naazi’at: 42-44)

Ayat-ayat di atas dengan sangat jelas menunjukkan bahwa tidak satu pun makhluk yang mengetahui kapan terjadinya hari kiamat, tidak ada yang mengetahui waktunya selain Allah Ta’ala. Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam pun tidak mengetahui karena waktu tersebut termasuk di antara mafaatihul ghoib (kunci-kunci ilmu ghoib) yang hanya Allah saja yang mengetahuinya. Mengenai mafaatihul ghoib yang dimaksudkan dapat dilihat pada firman Allah,

إِنَّ اللَّهَ عِنْدَهُ عِلْمُ السَّاعَةِ وَيُنَزِّلُ الْغَيْثَ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِي الأرْحَامِ وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ مَاذَا تَكْسِبُ غَدًا وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ بِأَيِّ أَرْضٍ تَمُوتُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌ

“Sesungguhnya Allah, hanya pada sisi-Nya sajalah pengetahuan tentang Hari Kiamat; dan Dia-lah Yang menurunkan hujan, dan mengetahui apa yang ada dalam rahim. Dan tiada seorang pun yang dapat mengetahui (dengan pasti) apa yang akan diusahakannya besok. Dan tiada seorang pun yang dapat mengetahui di bumi mana dia akan mati. Sesungguhnya Allah Maha Mengetahui lagi Maha Mengenal.” (QS. Luqman: 34)

Disebutkan pula dalam kitab Shahih Al Bukhari dari Ibnu ‘Umar radhiyallahu ‘anhuma dari Nabi shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam, beliau bersabda,

مَفَاتِحُ الْغَيْبِ خَمْسٌ

“Kunci ilmu ghoib itu ada lima.”[2] Kemudian beliau pun membaca firman Allah (yang artinya), “Sesungguhnya Allah, hanya pada sisi-Nya sajalah pengetahuan tentang Hari Kiamat, … dst”.

(not too concerned with spoilers in this review, I must warn)

In a certain moment of “2012″, in the Himalayas, a surprisingly advanced onboard computer claims they are in a collision course with something that is 8.840 km high. To which a character actually asks “What could be 8.840km high?”. Because there are so many 9 km high things to choose from, and in the Himalayas. Then another character says what it is ominously (I will not “reveal” it because I don’t want to insult your intelligence). This is how Roland Emmerich builds suspense. And this is why I am absolutely convinced “2012″ is a comedy that, if directed by Emmerich with the help of Jerry Zucker, would have achieved its full comedic potential. It’s a shame that in the moment the president played by Danny Glover adresses the nation, he does not start screaming, “We are all gonna DIIIIIEEEEEE!”, even though what he says is hilarious in a less hysterical way. Paraphrasing slightly because I can’t remember the exact words: “I believe what I will say next is true for every religion: the Lord is my shepherd…“

“2012″ is the result of an entire career’s worth of warming up with films like “Independence Day” and “The Day After Tomorrow”. This is the film Roland Emmerich always wanted to make, and I hope his apparent grudge against planet Earth has now ended, otherwise Emmerich’s next film will be about the destruction of the Milky Way (and consequently Earth, again) because of a collision with Andromeda, happening “much earlier than we thought it would!”, a specialist possibly played by Dennis Quaid would say.

The plot of “2012″ is, well… it’s 2012. According to the film (and worryingly, millions of real people who actually believe this), the Mayan calendar doesn’t stop because the Mayans just kinda got bored with it or something, but because the world will end then. The film depicts that the planets will align causing the sun to emit too many neutrinos (or vice-versa, don’t ask me to understand physics the way Emmerich does), but the point is that the center of the Earth rises in temperature dramatically, causing the tectonic plates to shift position, which causes earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanos, pretty much everything short of zombies and dinosaurs, which finally causes a broken family to come together again, and a boy who calls his father by his name to start calling him “dad” once again because that kind of emotional arc is so original.

“2012″ doesn’t take itself seriously. It plays like a drama but has several moments that reveal its true farcical nature, like the change of magnetic poles that results in the new South Pole being located “somewhere in Wisconsin”. Not to mention how blatantly the film uses convenient character traits to make its unbelievably stupid disaster scenes seem even mildly believable, like the protagonist being a “writer and a limousine driver” and the boyfriend of his ex-wife being a “plastic surgeon and a plane pilot”. Sure, the latter constantly says he only took a few plane lessons, but mate, if you can take a plane off the ground as that very ground breaks open beneath you, then dodge falling buildings, debris and fireballs — you’re a fucking pilot. Shut the fuck up.

Another sign of the film’s sense of humor are the characters that clearly represent real people, like the rich blonde girl with a dog that reminded me of Paris Hilton. And it’s especially hilarious how the film kills all of its supporting cast in increasingly over-the-top ways, and how blatantly the film provides catharsis with the gratuitous death of particularly unlikeable characters.

Therefore, complaining about cliches, inconsistences and coincidences in a movie like this is pretty much missing the point: it’s just plain fun. Unlike Sam Raimi in “Drag Me To Hell”, which couldn’t decide between comedy and horror, Roland Emmerich opts for comedy disguised as drama and shares the fun with us, not only indulging himself but the audience with his amazing ability to find the best possible way of filming something’s destruction. And Emmerich adds to the hilarity by always destroying a famous thing with another famous thing. I gasped from laughter when a character sees a large object riding a tsunami towards them and says, “Sir, that’s the Air Force One.”

Even better, Emmerich spares no-one. After extracting humor from painfully obvious symbolism (the Sistine Chapel’s ceiling being cracked apart right where the hands of Man and God almost touch), he proceeds to destroy the Vatican right when the Pope is giving a speech. Leaders of other religions and countries suffer the same fate.

And this is good, because a movie trying to take the Mayan calendar bullshit seriously would just be sad to see. Emmerich satirizes it constantly with Woody Harrelson’s character, a crazy radio broadcaster who turns out to be right despite being clearly insane, in an irony so improbable I just had to laugh. Speaking of the talented Harrelson, he’s fortunately not the only one to know he’s in a comedy, since the also talented John Cusack doesn’t hesitate to be histrionic and shouty during action scenes. The rest of the cast seems to take the movie more seriously though, but this ends up being even funnier.

So, is “2012″ good? Well, if I’m right and Emmerich’s intention was to make a comedy about the world’s destruction in 2012 and disguise it as a drama, then yes, it’s excellent and delivers. And if his intention was to deliver a serious, emotional drama, then “2012″ is a wonderful mistake. Either way, it’s an entirely forgettable, but very fun time. And really, I can’t actually believe this film is serious: on one of the final scenes, with inspiring “everything worked out okay” music, people leave their arks (yes, there are arks) to be met by the wonderful sight of… a destroyed world covered in water. But look at that beautiful sunset!

But now that he’s had his fun, Roland Emmerich should start a new part of his career where he dedicates himself to more serious films, because maybe if he actually tries, he can make a movie that’s not only fun but also memorable.

Which, okay, sounds less likely than the world ending in 2012, but still.

Kiamat 2012 mengguncang dunia, demikian headline di beberapa media massa akhir-akhir ini, ternyata isi beritanya tentang sambutan gegap gempita dari masyarakat dunia terhadap sebuah film yang bercerita tentang terjadinya kiamat pada tahun 2012. Film ini diangkat dari ramalan bangsa Maya kuno paganis yang berasal dari Meksiko, bahwa kiamat akan terjadi pada 21 Desember 2012.

Berbicara tentang ramalan kiamat sebenarnya bukan hal baru, banyak sekali paranormal dan tukang ramal sejak dulu telah menyesatkan masyarakat dengan ramalan waktu terjadinya kiamat, namun satu yang pasti: semua ramalan tersebut tidak pernah terbukti sama sekali. Anehnya masih banyak juga yang mau percaya, bahkan rela merogoh kocek hanya demi menonton film tersebut.

Meski kami tahu, alhamdulillah kaum muslimin pada umumnya tidak mudah terpengaruh untuk percaya dengan ramalan-ramalan tersebut, bahkan ada seorang muslim yang sangat awam mengatakan, “kiamat di tangan Allah bukan di tangan orang-orang Hollywood”.

Akan tetapi kewajiban kita sebagai muslim untuk saling menasihati, mengingatkan saudara-saudara kita, ternyata ada bahaya besar di balik film tersebut, yaitu bahaya atas aqidah seorang muslim.

Ilmu ghaib hanya milik Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala

Apa yang akan terjadi di masa depan temasuk perkara ghaib, tidak ada yang memiliki ilmunya, baik malaikat, manusia maupun jin, kecuali Allah Ta’ala. Ini adalah salah satu pokok keimanan yang harus diyakini oleh setiap hamba.

Maka termasuk kesyirikan:
1. Apabila seorang mengaku mengetahui ilmu ghaib,
2. Apabila seorang mempercayai ada selain Allah yang mengetahui ilmu ghaib.
Karena pengetahuan tentang ilmu ghaib merupakan kekhususan bagi Allah Tabaraka wa Ta’ala. Sebagaimana yang Allah Ta’ala tegaskan dalam banyak ayat, diantaranya:

قُلْ لَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ الْغَيْبَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ أَيَّانَ يُبْعَثُونَ

“Katakanlah, “Tidak ada seorangpun di langit dan di bumi yang mengetahui hal ghaib, kecuali Allah Ta’ala” Dan mereka tidak mengetahui bilakah mereka akan dibangkitkan.” (QS. An-Naml: 65)

وَعِنْدَهُ مَفَاتِحُ الْغَيْبِ لَا يَعْلَمُهَا إِلَّا هُوَ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِي الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ وَمَا تَسْقُطُ مِنْ وَرَقَةٍ إِلَّا يَعْلَمُهَا وَلَا حَبَّةٍ فِي ظُلُمَاتِ الْأَرْضِ وَلَا رَطْبٍ وَلَا يَابِسٍ إِلَّا فِي كِتَابٍ مُبِينٍ

“Dan pada sisi Allah-lah kunci-kunci semua yang ghaib, tak ada yang mengetahuinya melainkan Dia sendiri, dan Dia mengetahui apa yang di daratan dan di lautan dan tidak sehelai daun pun yang gugur melainkan Dia mengetahui, dan tidak jatuh sebutir biji pun dalam kegelapan bumi dan tidak sesuatu yang basah atau yang kering, melainkan tertulis dalam kitab yang nyata (lauhul mahfudz)” (QS. Al-An`am: 59)

Kapan terjadi kiamat termasuk ilmu ghaib, hanya Allah Tabaraka wa Ta’ala yang memiliki ilmunya

Tidak diragukan lagi bahwa pengetahuan tentang waktu terjadinya kiamat adalah termasuk perkara ghaib, hanya Allah Ta’ala saja yang tahu kapan terjadinya kiamat, tidak ditampakkan kepada makhluk-Nya karena suatu hikmah. Allah Ta’ala berfirman:

يَسْأَلُكَ النَّاسُ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّ السَّاعَةَ تَكُونُ قَرِيبًا

“Mereka bertanya kepadamu tentang (kapan datangnya) hari kiamat. Katakanlah, “Sesungguhnya pengetahuan tentang kapan datangnya hari kiamat itu hanyalah di sisi Allah.” Dan tahukah kamu (wahai Muhammad) boleh jadi hari kiamat itu sudah dekat waktunya.” (QS. Al-Ahzab: 63)

Kiamat itu amat berat (huru haranya bagi makhluk) yang di langit dan di bumi. Kiamat itu tidak akan datang kepadamu melainkan secara tiba-tiba.” Mereka bertanya kepadamu seakan-akan kamu benar-benar mengetahuinya. Katakanlah: “Sesungguhnya pengetahuan tentang hari kiamat itu adalah di sisi Allah, tetapi kebanyakan manusia tidak mengetahui”.” (QS Al-A’raf: 187)

Bahkan malaikat yang paling mulia sekalipun, yaitu Jibril ‘alaihissalam dan Rasul yang paling mulia, yaitu Nabi Muhammad shallallahu’alaihi wa sallam juga tidak mengetahui kapan terjadinya kiamat.

Sehingga ketika Jibril datang dalam bentuk seorang laki-laki dan bertanya kepada Rasulullah shallallahu’alaihi wa sallam, “kapan terjadinya kiamat”, sebuah pertanyaan untuk mengajarkan kepada para sahabat bahwa tidak ada yang mengetahui kapan terjadinya kiamat kecuali Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla, maka dijawab oleh Rasulullah shallallahu’alaihi wa sallam: “tidaklah orang yang ditanya lebih tahu dari yang bertanya.” (sebagaimana dalam hadits yang panjang, yang dikenal dengan istilah hadits Jibril, diriwayatkan oleh al-Imam Muslim, lihat hadits Arba’in ke-2).

Bentuk Kekafiran dari sisi lain: Mendustakan hadits-hadits tentang tanda-tanda kiamat

Termasuk bagian dari rukun iman yang kelima, yaitu beriman dengan hari kiamat adalah mengimani terjadinya tanda-tanda kiamat. Hal tersebut telah dijelaskan dalam banyak ayat dan hadits yang shahih, bahkan sebagiannya mutawatir. Diantaranya dalam hadits Hudzaifah bin Asid al-Ghifari radhiyallahu’anhu:

اطَّلَعَ النَّبِىُّ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- عَلَيْنَا وَنَحْنُ نَتَذَاكَرُ فَقَالَ مَا تَذَاكَرُونَ. قَالُوا نَذْكُرُ السَّاعَةَ. قَالَ إِنَّهَا لَنْ تَقُومَ حَتَّى تَرَوْنَ قَبْلَهَا عَشْرَ آيَاتٍ. فَذَكَرَ الدُّخَانَ وَالدَّجَّالَ وَالدَّابَّةَ وَطُلُوعَ الشَّمْسِ مِنْ مَغْرِبِهَا وَنُزُولَ عِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- وَيَأْجُوجَ وَمَأْجُوجَ وَثَلاَثَةَ خُسُوفٍ خَسْفٌ بِالْمَشْرِقِ وَخَسْفٌ بِالْمَغْرِبِ وَخَسْفٌ بِجَزِيرَةِ الْعَرَبِ وَآخِرُ ذَلِكَ نَارٌ تَخْرُجُ مِنَ الْيَمَنِ تَطْرُدُ النَّاسَ إِلَى مَحْشَرِهِمْ.

“Nabi shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam memperhatikan kami ketika sedang berbincang-bincang. Beliau berkata, “Apa yang sedang kalian perbincangkan?” Kami menjawab, “Kami sedang berbincang-bincang tentang hari kiamat.” Beliau bersabda:

“Tidak akan terjadi hari kiamat hingga kalian melihat sepuluh tanda.” Lalu beliau menyebutkan, “[1] Dukhan (asap yang meliputi manusia), [2] Keluarnya Dajjal, [3] Daabah (binatang yang bisa berbicara), [4] terbitnya matahari dari barat, [5] turunnya ‘Isa bin Maryam ‘alaihimassalam, [6] keluarnya Ya’juj dan Ma’juj, [7,8,9] terjadinya tiga longsor besar yaitu di timur, di barat dan di jazirah Arab, yang terakhir adalah [10] keluarnya api dari Yaman yang menggiring manusia ke tempat berkumpulnya mereka”.” (HR. Muslim no. 7467)

Dari kesepuluh tanda-tanda kubro ini yang paling jelas pengingkarannya pada tanda yang kelima, yaitu tentang turunnya Nabi ‘Isa ‘alaihissalam, karena dalam hadits yang shahih diterangkan bahwa lama tinggal Nabi ‘Isa ‘alaihissalam di bumi adalah selama 40 tahun, kemudian beliau meninggal dunia dan disholati oleh kaum muslimin (sebagaimana dalam hadits yang diriwayatkan Al-Imam Ahmad, Abu Dawud dan dishahihkan oleh Asy-Syaikh Al-Albani dalam Ash-Shahihah no. 2182).

Sedangkan ramalan kiamat bangsa Maya akan terjadi pada 21 Desember 2012, berarti jaraknya tinggal 3 tahun lebih sedikit, padahal Nabi ‘Isa ‘alaihissalam akan tinggal di bumi selama 40 tahun. Ini jelas penyesatan dan pendustaan secara tidak langsung terhadap hadits Nabi shallallahu’alaihi wa sallam yang mulia, satu dari dua wahyu Allah (al-Qur’an dan al-Hadits).

Demikian pula, termasuk tanda kubro sebelum turunnya Nabi Isa ‘alaihissalam, adalah diangkatnya Imam Mahdi sebagai pemimpin tunggal kaum muslimin dan beliau akan berkuasa selama 7 atau 8 tahun (dan Nabi ‘Isa ‘alaihissalam turun pada masa kepemimpinan beliau) (sebagaimana dalam hadits yang diriwayatkan oleh Al-Imam Al-Hakim dan dishahihkan oleh Asy-Syaikh Al-Albani dalam Ash-Shahihah no. 711).

Juga tidak akan terjadi kiamat sebelum kaum muslimin mengalahkan kaum penjajah dan teroris sejati: yahudi. Nabi shallallahu’alaihi wa sallam bersabda:

لاَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يُقَاتِلَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ الْيَهُودَ فَيَقْتُلُهُمُ الْمُسْلِمُونَ حَتَّى يَخْتَبِئَ الْيَهُودِىُّ مِنْ وَرَاءِ الْحَجَرِ وَالشَّجَرِ فَيَقُولُ الْحَجَرُ أَوِ الشَّجَرُ يَا مُسْلِمُ يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ هَذَا يَهُودِىٌّ خَلْفِى فَتَعَالَ فَاقْتُلْهُ. إِلاَّ الْغَرْقَدَ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ شَجَرِ الْيَهُودِ

“Tidak akan terjadi kiamat sebelum kaum muslimin memerangi orang Yahudi. Maka kaum muslimin membunuh mereka sampai orang Yahudi bersembunyi di belakang batu dan pohon; maka batu dan pohon itu berkata, “Wahai Muslim, wahai hamba Allah, inilah orang Yahudi di belakangku, kemarilah dan bunuhlah,” kecuali pohon gharqad, karena sesungguhnya ia adalah pohonnya Yahudi.” (HR. Sebagaimana kaum muslimin pada akhir zaman akan menundukkan semua kekuatan orang-orang kafir di muka bumi ini. Dan sudah dimaklumi bahwa pembuat film ini adalah seorang Yahudi, sehingga tidak berlebihan kalau kita bertanya-tanya, apakah ini gambaran ketakutan mereka kepada kaum muslimin, sekaligus ingin memadamkan semangat jihad plus mengkaburkan aqidah kaum muslimin!?

Dan masih banyak hadits lain tentang tanda-tanda kiamat yang mungkin didustakan dalam ramalan tersebut.

Sejatinya, ketika terjadi kiamat tidak ada lagi orang beriman di muka bumi ini, karena Allah Ta’ala telah mewafatkan semua orang yang beriman sebelum terjadinya kiamat. Sehingga yang menyaksikan terjadinya kiamat hanyalah orang-orang kafir, bahkan mereka adalah seburuk-buruknya manusia yang tersisa di muka bumi ini. Nabi shallallahu’alaihi wa sallam bersabda:

إِنَّ مِنْ شِرَارِ النَّاسِ مَنْ تُدْرِكُهُ السَّاعَةُ وَهُمْ أَحْيَاءٌ وَمَنْ يَتَّخِذُ الْقُبُورَ مَسَاجِدَ

“Sesungguhnya diantara makhluk yang paling buruk (di sisi Allah) adalah orang yang masih hidup ketika terjadinya kiamat dan orang yang menjadikan kuburan sebagai masjid.” (HR. Ahmad, dihasankan oleh Asy-Syaikh Al-Albani dalam Ahkamul Janaiz hlm. 216)

Faidah: Yang dimaksud dengan menjadikan kuburan sebagai masjid mencakup dua makna, pertama: shalat di pekuburan, kedua: membangun masjid di pekuburan (lihat I’anatul Mustafid bi Syarhi Kitabit Tauhid, Asy-Syaikh Sholih al-Fauzan hafizhahullah 1/298).

Kesimpulan

Mempercayai ramalan terjadinya kiamat pada tahun 2012 termasuk kesyirikan dan kekafiran kepada Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. Lalu bagaimana mungkin seorang mukmin bisa terhibur dengan film, maupun acara-acara perdukunan seperti The Master dan lainnya yang berdasarkan pada sesuatu yang sangat dimurkai Allah!?

Padahal setiap mukmin tidak saja dituntut untuk menjauhi kekafiran, tapi juga dituntut untuk membenci kekafiran tersebut dan pelaku-pelakunya. Inilah satu permasalahan penting dalam aqidah seorang muslim yang dikenal dengan istilah al-wala’ wal bara’, kecintaan dan permusuhan. Bahwa cinta seorang mukmin kepada iman dan orang-orang yang beriman dan kebenciannya kepada kekafiran dan orang-orang kafir. Nabi Ibrahim ‘alaihissalam telah memberikan teladan yang baik dalam hal ini:

قَدْ كَانَتْ لَكُمْ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ فِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ إِذْ قَالُوا لِقَوْمِهِمْ إِنَّا بُرَآءُ مِنْكُمْ وَمِمَّا تَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ كَفَرْنَا بِكُمْ وَبَدَا بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمُ الْعَدَاوَةُ وَالْبَغْضَاءُ أَبَدًا حَتَّى تُؤْمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَحْدَهُ

“Sesungguhnya telah ada suri teladan yang baik bagi kalian pada Ibrahim dan orang-orang yang bersamanya; ketika mereka berkata kepada kaumnya: ‘Sesungguhnya kami berlepas diri dari kalian dan apa yang kalian sembah selain Allah, kami ingkari (kekafiran) kalian serta telah nyata antara kami dan kalian permusuhan dan kebencian untuk selama-lamanya, sampai kalian beriman kepada Allah saja.” (QS. Al-Mumtahanah: 4)

Sehingga termasuk kekafiran:
1. Apabila seorang mencintai atau meridhoi kekafiran meskipun ia tidak melakukannya,
2. Apabila seorang mencintai orang kafir karena kekafirannya.
Adapun seorang yang mencintai orang kafir bukan karena kekafirannya, seperti karena dunia dan lainnya, maka tidak termasuk kekafiran, namun termasuk dosa besar (lihat Syarah Tsalatsatul Ushul, Asy-Syaikh Sholih Alu Syaikh hafizhahullah, hlm. 27)

Maka sangat dikhawatirkan, hadirnya kita untuk menonton dan mencari hiburan dari acara-acara kekafiran termasuk dalam bentuk meridhoi kekafiran tersebut.

Di sisi lain, menonton film tersebut minimalnya termasuk perbuatan sia-sia dan membelanjakan harta untuk kesia-siaan, padahal masih banyak hal-hal positif yang bisa kita lakukan untuk kebaikan dunia dan akhirat kita. Demikian pula jika kita renungkan sejenak, tentang harta yang kita keluarkan hanya demi suatu hiburan belaka, padahal di negeri kita sendiri terlalu mudah untuk bertemu peminta-minta setiap harinya di jalan-jalan negeri kita dan di belahan bumi lain banyak saudara-saudara kita kaum muslimin, seperti di Palestina, Afganistan, Iraq, dan lainnya yang sangat membutuhkan uluran tangan kita, karena sekedar untuk mendapatkan sesuap nasi terlalu sulit bagi mereka disebabkan penjajahan yang dilakukan oleh orang-orang kafir, sementara kita di sini, menghambur-hamburkan harta untuk hiburan yang tidak syar’i!?

Adapun bagi mereka yang ingin mengambil hikmah atau pelajaran dari film, novel, nyanyian (baca: nasyid) dan yang sejenisnya, ketahuilah itu termasuk tipu daya setan untuk menjauhkan kita dari al-Qur’an dan cabang-cabang ilmunya yang sangat banyak. Barangsiapa yang tidak bisa mengambil pelajaran dari al-Qur’an maka bagaimana mungkin ia bisa mengambil dari selainnya!?

Ingatlah, setiap detik yang kita lalui dan setiap harta yang kita belanjakan pasti akan dimintai pertanggung jawabannya di akhirat kelak. Rasulullah shallallahu’alaihi wa sallam bersabda:

لَا تَزُولُ قَدَمَا عَبْدٍ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ حَتَّى يُسْأَلَ عَنْ أَرْبَعٍ : عَنْ عُمُرِهِ فِيمَا أَفْنَاهُ ، وَعَنْ عِلْمِهِ مَاذَا عَمِلَ فِيهِ ، وَعَنْ مَالِهِ مِنْ أَيْنَ اكْتَسَبَهُ وَفِيمَا أَنْفَقَهُ ، وَعَنْ جِسْمِهِ فِيمَا أَبْلَاهُ

“Tidak akan bergerak kedua kaki seorang hamba pada hari kiamat sampai dimintai pertanggung jawaban tentang empat perkara, tentang umurnya ke mana ia habiskan, tentang hartanya dari mana ia dapatkan dan ke mana ia belanjakan dan tentang badannya untuk apa ia pergunakan.” (HR. Tirmidzi, dishahihkan oleh Asy-Syaikh Al-Albani dalam Shohihut Targhib no. 126)

Oleh karenanya, yang paling penting bagi kita bukanlah mengetahui kapan terjadinya kiamat, tapi apa yang telah kita siapkan untuk menghadapi hari kiamat.

عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا قَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- مَتَى السَّاعَةُ قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ -صلى الله عليه وسلم- « مَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا ». قَالَ حُبَّ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ. قَالَ « أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ

“Dari Anas bin Malik radhiyallahu’anhu bahwasannya, seorang Arab dusun bertanya kepada Nabi shallallahu’alaihi wa sallam, “kapan terjadinya hari kiamat”, maka Nabi shallallahu’alaihi wa sallam bertanya kepadanya, “apa yang telah engkau siapkan untuk menghadapi hari kiamat”, ia menjawab, “kecintaan kepada Allah dan Rasul-Nya”, maka Nabi shallallahu’alaihi wa sallam bersabda, “engkau akan bersama dengan yang engkau cintai”.” (Muttafaqun ‘alaihi)

NASA said last week that the world was not ending — at least anytime soon. Last year, CERN, the European Center for Nuclear Research, said the same thing, which I guess is good news for those of us who are habitually jittery. How often do you have a pair of such blue-ribbon scientific establishments assuring us that everything is fine?

On the other hand, it is kind of depressing if you were looking forward to taking a vacation from mortgage payments to finance one last blowout.

CERN’s pronouncements were intended to allay concerns that a black hole would be spit out of its new Large Hadron Collider and eat the Earth.

The announcements by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, in the form of several Web site postings and a video posted on YouTube, were in response to worries that the world will end on Dec. 21, 2012, when a 5,125-year cycle known as the Long Count in the Mayan calendar supposedly comes to a close.

The doomsday buzz reached a high point with the release of the new movie “2012,” directed by Roland Emmerich, who previously inflicted misery on the Earth from aliens and glaciers in “Independence Day” and “The Day After Tomorrow.”

In the movie, an alignment between the Sun and the center of the galaxy on Dec. 21, 2012, causes the Sun to go berserk with mighty storms on its surface that pour out huge numbers of the elusive subatomic particles known as neutrinos. Somehow the neutrinos transmute into other particles and heat up the Earth’s core. The Earth’s crust loses its moorings and begins to weaken and slide around. Los Angeles falls into the ocean; Yellowstone blows up, showering the continent with black ash. Tidal waves wash over the Himalayas, where the governments of the planet have secretly built a fleet of arks in which a select 400,000 people can ride out the storm.

But this is only one version of apocalypse out there. In other variations, a planet named Nibiru crashes into us or the Earth’s magnetic field flips.

There are hundreds of books devoted to 2012, and millions of Web sites, depending on what combination of “2012” and “doomsday” you type into Google.

All of it, astronomers say, is bunk.

“Most of what’s claimed for 2012 relies on wishful thinking, wild pseudoscientific folly, ignorance of astronomy and a level of paranoia worthy of ‘Night of the Living Dead,’ ” Ed Krupp, director of the Griffith Observatory, in Los Angeles, and an expert on ancient astronomy, wrote in an article in the November issue of Sky & Telescope.

Personally, I have been in love with end-of-the-world stories since I started consuming science fiction as a disaffected child. Scaring the pants off the public has been pretty much the name of the game ever since Orson Welles broadcast “War of the Worlds,” a fake newscast about a Martian invasion of New Jersey, in 1938.

But the trend has gone too far, suggested David Morrison, an astronomer at the NASA Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, Calif., who made the YouTube video and is one of the agency’s point people on the issue of Mayan prophecies of doom.

“I get angry at the way people are being manipulated and frightened to make money,” Dr. Morrison said. “There is no ethical right to frighten children to make a buck.”

Dr. Morrison said he had been getting about 20 letters and e-mail messages a day from people as far away as India scared out of their wits. In an e-mail message, he enclosed a sample that included one from a woman wondering if she should kill herself, her daughter and her unborn baby. Another came from a person pondering whether to put her dog to sleep to avoid suffering in 2012.

All of this reminded me of the kinds of letters I received last year about the putative black hole at CERN. That too was more science fiction than science fact, but apparently there is nothing like death to bring home the abstract realms of physics and astronomy. In such situations, when the Earth or the universe is trying to shrug you and your loved ones off this mortal plane, the cosmic does become personal.

Dr. Morrison said he did not blame the movie for all this, as much as the many other purveyors of the Mayan prediction, as well as the apparent failure of some people, reflected in so many arenas of our national life, to tell reality from fiction. But then, he said, “my doctorate is in astronomy, not psychology.”

In an e-mail exchange, Dr. Krupp said: “We are always uncertain about the future, and we always consume representations of it. We are always lured by the romance of the ancient past and by the exotic scale of the cosmos. When they combine, we are mesmerized.”

A NASA spokesman, Dwayne Brown, said the agency did not comment on movies, leaving that to movie critics. But when it comes to science, Mr. Brown said, “we felt it was prudent to provide a resource.”

If you want to worry, most scientists say, you should think about global climate change, rogue asteroids or nuclear war. But if speculation about ancient prophecies gets you going, here are some things Dr. Morrison and the others think you should know.

To begin with, astronomers agree, there is nothing special about the Sun and galactic center aligning in the sky. It happens every December with no physical consequences beyond the overconsumption of eggnog. And anyway, the Sun and the galactic center will not exactly coincide even in 2012.

If there were another planet out there heading our way, everybody could see it by now. As for those fierce solar storms, the next sunspot maximum will not happen until 2013, and will be on the mild side, astronomers now say.

Geological apocalypse is a better bet. There have been big earthquakes in California before and probably will be again. These quakes could destroy Los Angeles, as shown in the movie, and Yellowstone could erupt again with cataclysmic force sooner or later. We and our works are indeed fragile and temporary riders on the Earth. But in this case, “sooner or later” means hundreds of millions of years, and there would be plenty of warning.

The Mayans, who were good-enough astronomers and timekeepers to predict Venus’s position 500 years in the future, deserve better than this.

Mayan time was cyclic, and experts like Dr. Krupp and Anthony Aveni, an astronomer and anthropologist at Colgate University, say there is no evidence that the Mayans thought anything special would happen when the odometer rolled over on this Long Count in 2012. There are references in Mayan inscriptions to dates both before the beginning and the ending of the present Long Count, they say, just as your next birthday and April 15 loom beyond New Year’s Eve, on next year’s calendar.

So keep up those mortgage payments.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner! A new crown has been kinged! Break out the carpet and bring on the trumpeters! A new low has been set. Not just for film-making, but for humanity itself. I wanted to see 2012. I didn’t know why, but it was for many of the same reasons I wanted to see and ultimately enjoyed films like Transformers and Wolverine. But 2012 is an absolutely irredeemable mess. There is absolutely nothing to salvage. There is nothing to take away from this movie. Every last single thing about it is awful. There are a few movies that I’ve considered for the title of “worst ever.” Included on the list are such masterpieces as The Spirit, Batman and Robin, Date Movie, Night at the Museum, and Gamer. But I think 2012 takes the cake. Walking out of the theatre, I wasn’t quite sure if I was ready to proclaim the worst movie I’ve ever seen. I knew it was up there. The more I’ve thought about, though, the more I’ve realized that I can officially declare it just that. It the absolute worst movie I’ve ever seen.

Everything in this movie sucks. I thought it would be over the top and good in a Transformers-esque way, but not even close. It just sucked. All this devastation everywhere and yet John Cusak always manages to just escape. The disasters always happen right behind him and they follow him. And a plane just narrowly achieves lift about six hundred times. Wow, way to keep the suspense going. And none of the actors do anything with their roles. They all just suck. And what the fuck was with Woody Harrelson? He shows up as a crazy guy for about five minutes and then gets killed by a super volcanic eruption, which he embraces with open arms. And then the whole ark thing to save humanity at the end? What the fuck? Listen, I’m all for suspension of disbelief. Films, especially ones like this one, absolutely require it. But, really, you can only push things so far. When I saw Gamer, I never thought that another film from this year could possibly challenge it for title of worst of 2009. Well, 2012, congrats, you take the cake! I hate you. I usually don’t really feel like I just wasted money on a movie, but god damn, I would love to have those nine bucks back right about now. What a fucking steaming pile of shit. Roger Ebert gave it three and a half stars. Three and a half fucking stars?! That’s an outrage. What kind of fucking movie critic is he? And earlier this year, he gave Knowing a whole four stars. That man makes no sense and needs to stop reviewing movies. He clearly has lost any idea what makes a good movie. It’s not like this is crazy adrenaline rush movie where you can just enjoy the ride. There is nothing to enjoy! There is nothing to salvage, nothing to take from this. It is absolutely horrid. Worst movie ever is quite an accomplishment. Roland Emmerich, John Cusak and company should all be very proud of themselves. They really accomplished something here.

I give this five out of five chezwicks. I wish I could give it more to be honest. It is, after all, the worst movie I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen a lot of garbage in  my day. Once again, 2012, I salute you. Well done.
