I recently played Jak 3 (I haven’t for ages). It’s a great game, but I’ve noticed a problem.
You get these Light and Dark Eco Powers, so you can grow wings and fly, regenerate health and have a forcefield, and even slow down time, before turning into a dark monster and beating the hell out of people.
This should make you feel all powerful, but it doesn’t. The guns don’t seem to make up for it either, or the jetboard, or the massive range of vehicles at your disposal.
You probably don’t get to feel like some kind of super hero or god until you’ve unlocked the invisibility and invulnerability secrets, which requires loads and loads of precursor orbs. Oh Well.

Because the world needs more stupid product names.

It turns out I’m not very original. For you see, I had this “brilliant” idea! A bed, with a built in computer! The head would come up from behind and have the screen inside it. The keyboard and mouse would be at your side.

Unfortunately and fortunately, it already exists.

The reason I think this is such a good idea is not exactly because it lets me be lazy. No, the reason is in the name of the… setup: Ergonomic Workstation. Yes, it’s very ergonomic, and I think it would be great, particularly for your back. Tons of people, including me, spend hours sitting at a desk, probably with chairs that really don’t do you any good. With a bed, you can lie down, which is proven to be good for your back.

The advantages in this design compared to many are plentiful. This one has better design and placement when it comes to the keyboard, mouse and screen, and a better lying position. I wonder where the main CPU is, though? I’d be interested to see one with a built-in CPU. If you were to go the whole distance, you could put USB ports and other stuff in the side (frame) of the bed. Now THAT would be cool.

Not bad praise for a group you never heard of, huh?  That’s because they are from Canada and no one really pays attention to that country.

I first seen these guys when I went to the Van’s Warped Tour and they were the first band that I actually stopped by and watched.  They have a great sound with a mix of rock and hip hop and somehow make a seven person band work.  Story goes that they formed for a school talent show and have been together ever since.  You can check out their main website here.  As an a fellow American, I ask where is our young creative talent?  The only person out right now that comes to mind is Lady Gaga.  And it’s especially hard to support American music when when we continue to put out shit like this.

Universal Motown is the lucky record company to ink these guys to a deal.  Word on the street is that the guys from Down With Webster turned down Gene Simmons as an opportunity to be his first band signed under his new label.  From what I’ve heard, more freedom regarding their social network sites (facebook, myspace, youtube, twitter), as well as the way they disburse their music, was part of the reason why they decided to sign with the star-making Universal Motown.  Not everyday do you hear a band use profanity and talk so freely about drugs and alcohol when they are signed to a major label.

They just got done filming their new music video Rich Girl$ (behind the scenes sneak peak with hot girls) in California and are currently on tour promoting their new album Time To Win Vol. I.  Currently they are touring with Forever the Sickest Kids which I went to go check out and here’s some of the pictures I took.  Actually, the only pictures I took were of the parking lot signs because I got a $27 ticket for backing into the stall because apparently you aren’t allowed to do that.  Great job, government!  Thanks for doing your job and keeping everyone else safe because apparently backing into the stall put everyone is harms way.

To top it all off, I missed them play since they opened.  Just like I did with Lights when I tried to go see her at Warped Tour because I came late.  Instead, I just talked with Bucky (one of the members of DWW) and he hooked me up with a free demo CD which was pretty cool.

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is a national holiday tradition, and has been so for the past 83 years, and this year the tradition continued.

This year, the parade route returns to its roots with it ending at 34th street right in front of the Macy’s store. This is different than it has been in recent years.

 There is a list of performers that include Katharine McPhee, Jane Krakowski, and we have Spiderman, Kermit and Spongebob floating down the parade route. Ziggy Marley, the son of the legendary Reggae singer Bob Marley, performed a song with his daughter on a float decorated as a pirate ship.

 Ziggy performed his new song ”It’s Family Time” while holding his daughter in his arms so she could reach the mike…very cute.

Katharine McPhee, sporting her new sassy blonde ‘do, performed her new single “Had It All.” Jane Krakowski performed a Christmas tune. She may play a ditzy spoiled celeb on “30 Rock,” but in real-life Krakowski is quite the songbird.

Teen superstar Miley Cyrus made an exuberant appearance waving to her throngs of excited fans that lined the parade route waiting patiently for the international superstar. She looked great, in light of the bush crash tragedy that killed her long time tour bus driver this past friday. Today was much happier times for her.

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade aired on CBS and NBC at noon ET/9 am PT.

La Facultad de Comunicación de la Universidad de Sevilla acoge desde ayer la 8ª edición de la Muestra de Cine y Discapacidad organizado por la Universidad de Sevilla junto a la Confederación Andaluza de Personas con Discapacidad Física y Orgánicas (CANF-COCENFE Andalucía). Más de 170 estudiantes de la Hispalense participan de unas jornadas centradas en dar a conocer la realidad social de las personas con discapacidad a través de proyecciones cinematográficas, charlas y coloquios con los principales exponentes  que tratan la cuestión de la discapacidad en el panorama audiovisual actual.

El decano de la Facultad de Comunicación, Francisco Sierra, inauguró oficialmente la 8ª edición de la Muestra de Cine y Discapacidad que anualmente organiza la Universidad de Sevilla junto a la Confederación Andaluza de Personas con Discapacidad Física y Orgánica (CANF-COCENFE Andalucía). En el acto de apertura intervino la presidenta de la CANF, Mª Ángeles Cozar, quien incidió en el hecho de que “es una muestra llena de arte, pero sobretodo de reflexión y contenido”.

La sociedad actual no es justa para casi nadie “pero mucho menos lo es para las personas con discapacidad”, y es en el cine donde se demuestra también esta tesis según Cózar: “Hay que poner los medios necesarios para que las personas con discapacidad puedan aportar su creatividad, sus valores, y todo su arte al cine”. En este sentido la sociedad tiene que estar abierta al discapacitado para permitir que puedan gozar de un derecho al que todos debemos tener acceso, “hay que abordar la discapacidad desde un punto de vista positivo”, asegura.

Por su parte, el decano de la Facultad de Comunicación, Francisco Sierra, abogó por el derecho de los discapacitados a la cultura, “no únicamente como el acceso a los bienes simbólicos, sino como la capacidad de reconocimiento en ellos”. Las minorías deben exigir sus derechos a la libertad de expresión, también a través del cine. “El cine como el espacio que alimenta nuestros sueños y configura nuestro imaginario, como un espacio cultural en el que todos pueden expresarse y tener visibilidad”, como contraposición al cine “como mercancía de la industria cultural”.

En este sentido, Sierra manifestó el apoyo de la Universidad de Sevilla, “como espacio público de encuentro y de participación”, a las personas con discapacidad “en su lucha por la dignidad”, y puso como ejemplo a la profesora del Departamento de Sociología, Trinidad Galiana por su compromiso como organizadora un año más de la muestra de cine que trata la discapacidad “desde la concepción transformadora y democrática de la comunicación”.

Álvaro Pastor y Antonio Naharro, directores y guionistas de la película ‘Yo, también’, por la que sus protagonistas Lola Dueñas y Pablo Pineda recibieron la Concha de Plata en el último Festival de San Sebastián,  abrieron la jornada a la participación. Tras la proyección del largometraje en el salón Blanco White, los más de 170 universitarios inscritos, compartieron una charla-coloquio con los ponentes, quienes respondieron a las cuestiones de los estudiantes.

En el largometraje ‘Yo también’ pretendemos romper con muchos tabúes, aseguran Naharro y Pastor, “contamos una historia de la vida general, de personas  normales con capacidad de amar y ser amadas, con deseos y también con problemas”. Eso es algo que tanto los directores del filme, como su protagonista, Pablo Pineda, declaron a Sevilla Actualidad, en el prestreno de la película en Sevilla.

Director y guionista abordaron preguntas a cerca de la producción del largometraje y su trabajo con los actores con síndrome de Down que participan. Así, explicaron como desde primera hora se fijaron en Pablo Pineda, ajeno al mundo del cine, para contar la historia que pretendían transmitir. “Habíamos esbozado ya un guión, y abordamos a Pablo a la salida de su trabajo en Málaga, le explicamos el proyecto y le pedimos su colaboración”. Pero para no asustarle, en principio no le hablaron de protagonizar una película, “sólo de contar con su colaboración, aunque poco a poco nos fuimos convenciendo de que Pablo Pineda era el único que podía interpretar a nuestro personaje”.

Por la tarde la muestra recibió al actor Fele Martínez (‘Tesis’, ‘Abre los ojos’ y ‘La mala educación’) estuvo presente con la película ‘Carmo’.  La muestra continúa hoy con la proyección del documental ‘La teoría del espiralismo’ de Mabel Lozano, que cuenta la historia de cinco deportistas paralímpicas. Raquel Acinas, ciclista paralímpica y una de las protagonistas, junto a Luis Leardy, director de comunicación del Comité Paralímpico Español, hablarán sobre este proyecto.

Para la clausura, estará  presente esta tarde Santiago Zannou, director de ‘El truco del manco’, largometraje reconocido con tres Goyas, que presentará su película. Lo acompañará el humorista, actor y presentador de Canal Sur Radio, Paco Aguilar que cerrará la muestra.

To be completely honest there are some things in life that I crave, absolutely need to have and comfort is one of those things especially at home.  I am the first to sacrifice comfort when it comes to a fabulous pair of heels, but when I am in my home I need comfort!  The Hubs and I are determined to create a comfortable and restorative space for our study.  We purchased the Lounge Sofa from Crate & Barrel which is arguably the most comfortable sofa ever – super deep with soft micro velvet fabric and down cushions.  In love!

The cold nights are fast approaching, being cozy and warm under a thick wool cable knit throw blanket is my idea of comfort this winter.  With that said, now I need to find the perfect one.  Pottery Barn has a cable knit throw for $79 and unfortunately it is a cotton acrylic blend.  I hate hate hate synthetic materials like acrylic and polyester.

He’s Dead

Its so close away but yet so far. As we all get closer to the big day, everyone starts to freak. Well at least some people. They don’t know what there going do,how there going to fix the turkey and for some, the forget to thaw the turkey. Now Thanksgiving can get a little hectic. Seeing your uncle drunk throwing up ham would make it a memorial one. Now I said that I was going to make Thanksgiving special. Well this is the countdown. In this I will jot down some stuff that I think you should not do or forget to do on Thanksgiving.

Number 1: Make sure you have planned what you are going to cook. Why do you want your family coming to your house and all you have made is that mash potatoes, and there not even made all the way!

Number 2: There is always the football game that goes on. This year I heard that the lions where playing. The suck! Why in the world are we going to watch a team that never wins. Why won’t Ford just get rid of there football team, like really, you sell cars! You don’t need a football team! Why do you think that there in the shape there in. Well I really don’t know if it’s the team or not. I’m just guessing.

Number 3: Alcohol is the drink that everyone will have at there Thanksgiving. It doesn’t matter if your black or white. There’s either going to be a Colt 45 or a Millers light there. Pick one and get drunk!

Number 4: Man I’m out of stuff to say. Should you do what I said and get drunk? I don’t know. My mind is spinning and I don’t drink! Or do I??? No I don’t just messing around. -_-…

So this is it. That is all of the stuff that you should make sure you do and not do. Now this is coming from a man who is not that bright and if you do what I say, you may not be bright either. So this is you Count Down to Thanksgiving. look out for my next one tomorrow! Holla

Aren’t back pains reserved for people like over the age of thirty…? If so, then I feel old. Today I had too carry home three textbooks, three binders, and like 4 regular books. I felt like I was carrying cement on my back. Totally not fun. When I put my backpack down in my car, before climbing on, I saw a distinct shift of the car bouncing on it’s shocks. How sad, my bag is so heavy it can move my car up and down.

Currently: Math Homework. I got sixty on the last test. I seriously need like an 70 – 80 on the next test or I’m screwed for the rest of the year.
