I have made the executive decision (and since I’m a sole trader it was a very one-sided discussion, just the way I like it!) not to put up any pictures of my piece for the Association for Contemporary Jewellery Diamond Jubilee exhibition until after it has opened on the 12th March.

The good news is…

a) that I did actually finish the piece! It has been lovingly wrapped in excessive amounts of bubble wrap and handed over so three cheers for me.

b) that here is the proposal I submitted for exhibition. Whether or not the piece actually resembles this in any way is a complete mystery (well not to me, or my friends, or any one else at the School of Jewellery – but to everyone else… a complete mystery… shrouded in an enigma!)

The exhibition opens at

 School of Jewellery, Vittoria Street, Birmingham, B1 3PA

 from 12 – 30th March.

It then travels to:

Goldsmiths’ Centre, London

11 – 16th June

SH Gallery, Edinburgh

2 – 28th July

North Glasgow College

27 – 31st August

So do go and see it if you can, I’d love to know what you think. If you can’t make it then watch this space for pictures coming soon!

Of course this was just a teaser for the wonderful things still to come in the main exhibition in May. I will be showing a brand new (as yet unmade!) collection of work, the Dr Grace Prescriptions. One down (old waspie there), three more in the making and plenty more to come!

Dr Grace’s Miracle Cure for Unwanted Wasps!

This months suggestion came from my lovely housemate, who is getting slightly exasperated by the un petit wasp infestation ( I know the man from the council said it wasn’t big enough to be an ‘infestation’ but dammit, if the wasps aren’t paying rent they shouldn’t blinking well be in our house).
