“Wilson”

You might be wondering why I stopped reviewing House after the season premiere. And, well, the answer is quite simple: I stopped watching House after the season premiere.

It wasn’t an intentional decision: a few episodes piled up on the DVR, which proceeded to crash and lose all of its files, and then more episodes piled up alongside some frustrated critics who were growing tired of the show’s ignorance of the rather great premiere, “Broken.” And so my desire to catch up with House was limited, and until tonight I was kind of convinced that I may never return to the show again.

However, on the advice of those same critics, I returned to “Wilson” and discovered what role House will play in my television criticism future. It is a show where the only episodes that truly engage me, truly suck me in, are those which feel uniquely possible within the show’s universe. Alan Sepinwall quite rightly observes in his review of the episode that the focus on Wilson in the episode would never work if not for the inherent juxtaposition of his methods to House’s methods.

It’s an episode that puts someone else in the driver’s seat, and rather than feeling like an overly complicated, soap operatic version of the show’s basic premise (which, based on what I’ve read of the season so far and parts of last season, is effectively what the show has boiled down to) the episode felt like a rumination on character, themes, and the inherent humanity or lack thereof at the show’s core.

The result was a very compelling hour of television, one which is uniquely housed (I made a funny!) within this particular series but will do little to change its overall downward trajectory.

I don’t entirely know the circumstances surrounding Cameron’s departure, nor do I particularly care about Cuddy’s relationship with Lucas or their future real estate plans. But I do care about people being inherently human, having faults and responding in ways that feel informed by past mistakes and cautious (or reckless in spite) of future concerns. And what makes “Wilson” work is that scene where House very clearly tells Wilson that what separates them is that our cold-hearted diagnostician is capable of handling when things go horribly wrong, and Wilson isn’t. The show never explicitly mentions Amber, but the implication is there, and more importantly the implication is played out throughout the episode. It isn’t that Wilson is as much of a pushover as House goads him into believing he is, but rather that he is a different kind of doctor in a way that makes him ill-suited to play House (you can tell that I haven’t written about the show in a long time considering the volume of punnage taking place inadvertantly).

The episode never goes so far as to suggest that his sentimentality is his undoing, that he cares too much about Tucker (an excellent Joshua Molina) and as a result makes a reckless medical decision that risks his own life for a man who lives separately whether he is living or dying. What the episode suggests, instead, is that James Wilson is the kind of doctor who knows his patients well enough to be on a first-name basis with them, to know that something is wrong when they don’t immediately brag about their grandsons upon their departure. And that what he learns from being trapped in this diagnostic spiral is that there are times when the emotional connection can go the opposite way, moving from a caring and compassionate ear to a cold shoulder. The goal is to avoid those emotions, on either end of the spectrum, from inherently informing your medical diagnosis, and while Wilson will never be House he realizes that there are some points where he should defend the people he cares about (which unfortunately tied in with the real estate plot, but what are you going to do?). It is not the point of the episode to suggest that Wilson should change who he is, but rather to demonstrate how finding that sense of identity can both restrict and free him.

I liked that Tucker turned out to be a bit of a cad, reuniting with his family only long enough to realize that he still has a whole life ahead of him, and his young hot girlfriend was what he really wanted. It worked because it demonstrated in some part why House stopped paying attention to who his patients are, and why Wilson can’t so easily become House (both because he can’t stop caring and, more importantly, his best work comes from his attention to relationships and detail). When dealing with diagnosis beyond the realm of medical mystery, where he is able to craft a relationship built less on life and death and more on the quality of life of those people who come through Oncology, he is attentive and compassionate in a way that House could never imagine, and in a way that House depends on in. Hugh Laurie may have been playing a supportive role here, but his admission that without Wilson he would be entirely alone was the sort of scene that sells how Wilson being Wilson is what really matters here.

It’s an episode that resists black and white in a way that Robert Sean Leonard nails throughout, taking risks and making moves to simultaneously save a life, prove a point, and protect a friend. Punctuated by the fun glimpses into House’s ongoing cases, and limited in its interpersonal drama, the episode kept a brisk pace and yet felt slow enough to allow us to really soak in how different the show is with Wilson at the helm.

As such, I await the upcoming “Cuddy” and “Taub” episodes, and will likely be ignoring the show otherwise – these episodes are intriguing because I watched the show long enough to have an attachment to these characters that makes me intrigued by episodes that delve into them further. When the show is House and the Foreteen show, my interest just isn’t there.

Cultural Observations

• I think having only seen the premiere and this episode is about as skewed a perspective on a television season as you can get.
• I thought they should have gotten Sabrina Lloyd to play Tucker’s wife, but I realized at a certain point that this would have made Tucker’s descent into cadness unbelievable: Jeremy would never do that to Natalie, cancer or no cancer.

Llegando al ultimo episodio del año, la cadena Fox presentó varios adelantos especiales del décimo episodio de la sexta temporada de House, llamado Wilson.

Cuando un viejo amigo y ex-paciente (Joshua Malina) de Wilson sufre parálisis en su brazo derecho, Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) decide unirse al caso. House (Hugh Laurie) apuesta que los síntomas del paciente son causados por nuevas células cancerígenas.

Wilson acepta la apuesta aunque se niega a creer que el cáncer a regresado. Con la ayuda del equipo, Wilson intenta diagnosticar resultados más optimistas, pero cuando la situación empeora, Wilson deben enfrentar su inhabilidad de separar paciente de amigo.

Al mismo tiempo, Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) busca consejos mientras decide mudarse.

La sexta temporada de House continua este lunes por Fox.

O blog de Patrícia Kogut no Globo Online comentou o olho roxo (ou seria cor de abóbora avermelhado ?) com que Hugh Laurie, o Dr House da série de TV, apareceu esta semana:

Hugh Laurie apareceu com o olho roxo para jantar no restaurante Ivy de Londres, esta semana. O ator, que está em intervalo de gravação de ‘House’, chamou a atenção geral por causa do seu visual. Ele não quis falar sobre o assunto. Circulou a versão de que o ator levou um golpe de um companheiro de academia enquanto treinava boxe em Los Angeles.

Será que ele foi atendido em algum hospital?

Auch wenn alle Folge oberflächlich gesehen gleich aufgebaut sind, finden sich die Unterschiede im Detail. Die Opfer haben immer eine andere Hintergrundgeschichte, die Angehörigen reagieren immer anders auf House ungewöhnliche Methoden und die Beziehungen zwischen den Hauptcharakteren entwickeln sich immer weiter. Dazu kommt dann noch der absolut geile Humor und schon ist gute Unterhaltung vorprogrammiert.

Allerdings sollten auch noch die tollen Schauspieler erwähnt werden. Obwohl hier mit medizinischen Fachbegriffen nur so um sich geworfen wird, spielen sie immer glaubwürdig und lassen ihre Charaktere absolut echt wirken.

Seit letztem Mittwoch hab ich jeden Tag mindestens eine Folge geguckt und bis jetzt habe ich keinen Grund gefunden, damit aufzuhören. Hoffen wir mal, dass es auch nicht dazu kommen wird.

Rien de mieux qu’une première page d’un quotidien pour rappeler aux québécois qu’il n’y a pas de temps à perdre.  Bien qu’on parle rarement des files d’attente ou des délais de traitement dans l’entreprise privée, les chroniqueurs des empires de Desmarais et Péladeau ne ratent jamais l’occasion pour souligner la hausse de fréquentation des urgences ou tout écart aux délais prescrits pour certaines chirurgies.  Les think tanks économiques – Institut Fraser et IEDM en tête – s’énervent alors et publient en synchronisme des analyses qui vantent les bienfaits du privé en santé.  Les lobbies des compagnies d’assurances se mobilisent et tentent d’influencer les politiques gouvernementales afin d’ouvrir ce marché lucratif qui leur permettrait de hausser leurs revenus.  Tout à coup, les militants de la droite québécoise deviennent les mégaphones de l’industrie de la santé et exigent une plus grande privatisation des services de santé afin de régler, selon eux, tous les problèmes.

Alors que, année après année, les sondages indiquent qu’une très grande majorité des québécois sont satisfaits des services reçus, les droitistes tenteront de nous faire croire qu’une adhésion à une assurance et l’arrivée des hôpitaux privés permettront de faire disparaître le temps d’attente dans les urgences et que tous les citoyens auront miraculeusement accès à un médecin de famille.  Évidemment, quelques enquêtes réalisées par des firmes privées viendront contredire les statistiques.  Encore cette semaine, la firme Deloitte publiait les résultats d’un sondage qui nous apprend que la majorité des canadiens “souhaitent de plus en plus être traités comme des consommateurs plutôt que des patients et qu’ils sont pour un accroissement des services des soins privés si cela peut entraîner une réduction globale des temps d’attente dans le système public.”  Permettez-moi d’être sceptique face à une firme de consultants qui offre ses services pour accroître la collaboration entre les systèmes publics et l’entreprise privée…

On peut rêver.  On peut s’imaginer dans un épisode de Dr. House et pénétrer dans les coulisses de cette vie trépidante que celle qu’on retrouve dans les hôpitaux de luxe (qui n’existent qu’à la télévision) ou encore se prendre pour un Claude Dubois et court-circuiter les pauvres gens qui attendent dans les urgences des hôpitaux et qui peinent à se trouver un médecin de famille.  La droite essaiera de nous faire croire que le privé amènera des sommes additionnelles pour financer les services de santé.  Mais cet argent proviendra de vos poches, par l’entremise de vos cotisations aux assurances collectives!  En se basant sur le modèle américain, où le financement et la prestation de services sont majoritairement fournis par le secteur privé, les québécois doivent s’attendre à une hausse significative de leur facture.  En se basant sur cette réalité américaine, la classe moyenne verra sa contribution à une assurance privée (en plus du paiement des franchises, des plafonds et des services non-couverts) atteindre plus de 10,000$ par année, ce que la droite n’explique pas.  Elle semble croire que les employeurs défraieront la totalité des nouvelles cotisations, comme par magie.

Alors, il est où le gain pour la classe moyenne?  Est-ce que l’adhésion à une assurance privée – dans le seul but de se débarrasser des syndicats et de permettre à certains individus d’éviter les files d’attente – en vaut vraiment la peine?  Doit-on quitter le modèle de solidarité pour emprunter celui du chacun pour soi?

Girano voci che se lo sia procurato durante un allenamento di pugilato a Los Angeles, sport molto amato da Laurie, anche se l’attore smentisce questa notizia e scherzando dice di aver sbattuto contro una porta.

Probabilmente ciò è dovuto al fatto che l’assicurazione non gli rimborserebbe il danno per lesioni da boxe.

Intervista. Il caso Ron Houben, che riesce a comunicare dopo 23 anni? «Un uomo vale anche da fermo». All’estetica moderna non piacciono i risvegli, «ma solo il caso Pistorius».

Il suo urlo racconta la complessità del problema, siamo diventati dei plastici della vita, non parliamo mai di cosa succede dentro un corpo e un’anima» dice al telefono Alessandro Bergonzoni a proposito del quarantaseienne belga considerato in «stato vegetativo permanente» da 23 anni dopo la paralisi per un incidente stradale.
Ron Houben, grazie a un computer, ha riassunto in una frase l’altro dramma, quello del risveglio invisibile: «Urlavo ma non riuscivo a far sentire la mia voce». Mentre la realtà era diversa: «Vivo e vegeto. Ma soprattutto vivo!», come lo slogan coniato dall’attore e scrittore bolognese per l’associazione Amici di Luca di cui da anni è testimonial. Costituita nel 1997 per provvedere alle cure necessarie per risvegliare Luca, ragazzo bolognese di 15 anni in coma per 240 giorni e purtroppo scomparso nel 1998, l’associazione è riuscita a dar vita alla “Casa dei Risvegli”, un centro innovativo di riabilitazione e di ricerca inaugurato nel 2004 a Bologna nell’Ospedale Bellaria. Il primo slogan di Bergonzoni fu: «Un cavallo che vale lo danno vincente, un uomo in coma lo danno per perso, io punto tutto sui risvegli».

Oggi quanto vale un uomo in coma? «Il problema è culturale, scientifico, spirituale. Si è stabilito che conta solo il corpo che funziona per intero, che tutto deve essere indirizzato all’utilità, al desiderio, alla produzione e quindi culturalmente il terreno per poter parlare di queste cose è friabile e poco fertile. Scientificamente, siamo di fronte a ex ministri della sanità che dicono “curiamo i vivi e lasciamo perdere i morti”. Ma le certezze che la scienza sbandierava (non all’unanimità però), non ci sono più. Non voglio citare Eluana: non sono né contro né per, non sono in contrasto come invece la scienza che dogmaticamente dice “questo è, e non altro”. Noi dobbiamo andare oltre».

È sufficiente il clamore perché se ne parli in maniera approfondita? «No. L’interruzione dà fastidio a meno che non diventi Pistorius, o un testimone dello spettacolo. Perché allora diventa produttiva. Chi non vuole vedere solo l’estetica, rimane da solo. Non sono innocue queste trasmissioni, hanno costruito il mito della bellezza unica. Su internet qualcosa di diverso si trova, ma è evidente che domina la tv. È andata persa la dignità, facciamo un festival!». Quale è l’atteggiamento dei media? «Fanno attività di distrazione di massa. Ti aiutano a pensare ad altro, tutto è divertimento. Cosa resta? Lasciamo il dolore in mano ai Signorini? Ma stiamo scherzando? Non bisogna più produrre certa cultura. La pornografia è il non parlare di altro. Non abbiamo concepito davvero la diversità. Su nero e bianco e rumeno, parliamo tranquillamente. Ma sull’inguardabile, siamo a zero. In tempo di crisi, è difficile raccontare che un corpo non produce e non può dare ma che pure racconta e dà per sé».

Ci sono altri casi di invisibili risvegli? «Uno è Giampiero Steccato, ex impiegato delle ferrovie di Piacenza, è paralizzato da oltre 10 anni perché affetto dalla sindrome locked-in. Ma grazie agli assistenti, come nel racconto dello scafandro e la farfalla di Bauby, riesce a comunicare anche se muove solo un mignolo, le sopracciglia, però ci sente. Anni fa ha chiesto di vivere, ma nessuno l’ha mai intervistato o portato in tv. Interessa a qualcuno? Questo è il tema. Si continua a parlare di norme, ma non di enorme. Noi facciamo una campagna da cinque anni, ma mica il tifo. Non dobbiamo vincere, né perdere, ma concepire l’inconcepibile come concepibile. Ron ha dimostrato che come con Munch, esiste l’urlo della vita».

Perchè ne fa anche una questione spirituale? «Spirituale, ma non non religiosa. L’anima di Kandinsky e Terzani la festeggiano ovunque nei festival, ma poi tutti tornano a casa e si parla di norme. Non esiste una cultura su cosa sia un essere. Se è fermo e non parla è morto, se non produce e non fa sorriso, è morto. Quando smetteremo di parlare di morte, di uccisioni, di giallisti, e cominceremo ad affrontare ben altri misteri? Lasciare questo discorso solo alla Chiesa o alla scienza? Io non ci sto. Su Ron la scienza si rode le mani, “sta a vedere c’è dell’altro”. Nessuno parla delle altre medicine se non della medicina unica, e il resto del pianeta? Ora tratteranno Ron come un caso eccezionale o un miracolo, tra Chiesa e laici va sempre a finire in questo modo. Nessuno vede la malattia o il danno come metamorfosi o rinascita. Fa comodo la definizione di «stato vegetativo permanente»? «Certo, così siamo tutti sicuri e non abbiamo più paura. Raccontiamo invece altre scelte. Non è che bisogna vivere a tutti i costi, Welby non è stato disumano. Ma l’automatismo o così o altrimenti no, è pornografia. Faccio continuamente incontri negli ospedali, all’università. E la politica? «I nostri politici sono quelle persone che hanno avuto all’asilo l’educazione della paura. I sani fanno case, affittano, producono. La scienza se non fa filosofia non parte, e la medicina sbaglia se si crede di essere da sola, è il silenzio dei sani».

Adesso cosa succederà? «In realtà sono disperato, perchè chissà quante altre persone stanno provando a chiedere ascolto come Ron. Non mancano le strutture, manca l’ascolto, prima ancora di broncoaspirazione, o della diatriba sull’alimentazione. Insomma, chi è che da oggi andrà dagli sfasciacarrozze a cercare dei motori da salvare?». Fiction estreme come Dr. House possono aiutare a raccontare questa complessità? «House un minimo lo fa, ma è sempre spettacolo, crea assuefazione. Quei casi li conosci cronologicamente, ma non fai un lavoro su te stesso. La fiction resta fiction. Queste cose sono complesse, e soprattutto non sicure. Picasso, Bacon, Artaud parlavano di paure e insicurezza, e non delle città sane».

Esito deludente, con meno di 4 milioni di spettatori, per la prima visione del film commedia di Canale 5 “SMS – Sotto Mentite Spoglie” con Vincenzo Salemme e Giorgio Panariello, superato nettamente dalla puntata del programma di RaiDue “Annozero” con Michele Santoro che tra gli altri ha visto ospiti Pierluigi Bersani e Giulio Tremonti. In netto calo l’accoppiata medica di Italia 1 tra una replica della terza stagione di “Dr. House – Medical Division” e due episodi inediti della quinta stagione di “Grey’s Anatomy”; sotto i due milioni il film poliziesco di RaiTre “Metro – Uno sbirro tuttofare” con Eddie Murphy ed il film catastrofico di Rete 4 “Godzilla” con Matthew Broderick; infine, i tre episodi in replica della quarta stagione della serie di La 7 “The District” con Craig T. provavelmente vão dizer que é mais uma maluquice minha, mas acho os dois parecidíssimos mesmo e acabou!

Aunque la cadena esta disfrutando de una de las mejores temporadas de su historia, como sucede todos los años, Fox realiza grandes cambios en la segunda parte de la temporada, por lo que tenemos la programación de Fox para los próximos meses.

Sin dudas las novedades más importantes para los primeros meses del 2010 son los regresos de 24 y American Idol, dos de los programas más importantes de la televisión y en los que la cadena se ha apoyado en los últimos tiempos.

Junto a estos regresos, los próximos meses servirán para presentar algunas nuevas series de la cadena, incluyendo la serie de acción Human Target, la serie de investigación Past Life y la comedia Sons of Tucson.

Como pueden ver, la programación presentará una gran cantidad de programas nuevos, lo que significa la partida temporada de algunos actuales, como sucederá con Glee y Fringe, que regresarán con nuevos episodios en abril.

Es claro que la cadena esta determinada a quedarse con el año, por lo que ha decidido repetir uno de los mejores combos de la televisión en la noche de los lunes, situando a House junto a 24.

Además utilizará el poder de American Idol para asegurar el éxito de varias series, incluyendo a Glee y Human Target.

Finalmente tenemos que destacar que Lie To Me no se encuentra en la programación pero seguramente regresará con episodios nuevos en abril o mayo.

It’s thanksgiving on House and everyone is thankful for pretty much nothing. The whole team is almost back. Chase, Foreman, 13 and Taub are all working on the case this week.

The medical story this week is about an exceptionally brilliant man who hates being brilliant. Such a hardship, right? The first diagnosis is TTP. The test comes up positive so they remove his spleen. Way too easy. So, of course, more issues pop up. Chase and Taub search his house and find a hidden bottle of vodka. They think he’s an alchy, but is really a different drug addict. He is addicted to cough syrup. Long term cough syrup abuse apparently lowers your IQ. See, he met his wife when he was in the hospital on narcotics after attempting to commit suicide by jumping into a dumpster. Because his wife’s IQ is closer to a gibbon’s than his, he doesn’t love her unless he’s dumb. Because of this, he decides he is going to keep robotripping to make himself nice and dumb because he thinks thinking is unpleasant and he’d rather be happy than smart. The doctor’s initial diagnosis of TTP was indeed correct, so why didn’t the initial spleenectomy work? Because when he jumped into the dumpster his spleen split into many pieces and the doctors only removed one. Remove them all and he’s free to go on living not up to his potential.

Cameron has moved to Chicago, so everyone is trying to get Chase some psychiatric help. Chase says there is no chance that he and Cameron will ever reconcile. Too sad to be true. Chase takes out his anger on House by using his face as a punching bag.

House decides that he is going to break up Cuddy and Lucas. He is doing everything he can to prove to Cuddy that he has changed. It’s really very sweet. He is volunteering clinic hours, being nice to his patients – or paying them to act like he was nice to them. He goes to extreme measures to get invited to thanksgiving dinner at Cuddy’s sisters house. Eventually, Cuddy invites him, but gives him the wrong address. I don’t know whose house she led him to, but she told the house sitter to give him a turkey sandwich. I don’t think there is any possible way I could have been more mad at Cuddy. Seriously, she couldn’t be a meaner person and this was the saddest thing in the world.

After this debocale, House breaks into Lucas’ house and gets drunk. He confesses his love for Cuddy and says that Lucas and her aren’t right together. Cuddy shows up at House’s the next day to tell him that Lucas broke up with her because he didn’t realize how much there was between them and he didn’t want to be in the middle of it. Well, Cuddy is full of big fat lies this week and this was another big fat lie. They didn’t break up and House catches on to this, of course.

Taub’s wife is pissed that he took back his job with House again. She’s mad because he’s back to doing “grunt work” and dips out on his wife every two seconds. Taub lies to her and pretends to be a badass and says that he punched House. That seems to make her magically happy.

Next week on House, Wilson treats a dying friend and Lucas and Cuddy move in together. How about, Lucas and Cuddy break up?

• The Dome arriva in televisione
  La Dreamworks di Steven Spielberg realizzerà un film televisivo/miniserie basato sull’ultimo romanzo del celebre scrittore Stephen King, The Dome (Under the Dome in originale). La storia è ambientata, come al solito, in una piccola cittadina del Maine dove all’improvviso cala una barriera invisibile che blocca tutto e tutti quelli che sono all’interno, anche l’aria. Inizia una quindi, per i protagonisti, una lotta contro il tempo per salvarsi.
• FlashForward si ferma
  La ABC ha fermato per una settimana la produzione di FlashForward, la nuova serie sci-fi iniziata da quasi due mesi. La cosa avviene un mese dopo l’abbandono di Marc Guggenheim, showrunner della serie, e dopo l’ennesimo calo di ascolti che la sta affliggendo. Il motivo quindi sarebbe quello di consentire agli scrittori di rimettere mano alle sceneggiature. Intanto il 3 dicembre assisteremo in USA all’ultimo episodio per questo 2009.
• Psych avrà una quinta stagione
  La notizia non giunge inaspettata, comunque ora è ufficiale. USA Network ha annunciato che la serie comico-poliziesca Psych avrà una quinta stagione di sedici episodi. La serie racconta le divertenti avventure di Shawn (James Roday), un finto sensitivo con un grande senso dell’osservazione e Gus (Dule Hill), il suo migliore amico che collaborano con la polizia di Santa Barbara. La serie è partita nel 2006 segnando il record di ascolti all’epoca per il canale e ha continuato ad avere sempre ottimi risultati. Psych intanto tornerà il 29 gennaio con la seconda parte della quarta stagione mentre la quinta debutterà la prossima estate.
• Ultimo episodio di V per questo 2009
  Stasera va in onda il quarto ed ultimo episodio per il 2009 di V. La serie di fantascienza tornerà poi a marzo con i restanti nove episodi e andrà in onda dopo Lost. Intanto sono stati calcolati i dati delle registrazioni della prima puntata che accresce il già buon risultato di ulteriori 2,4 milioni, portando il dato finale a 16,7 milioni (6,2); ottimo debutto quindi per la serie, specie nei ratings, anche se negli episodi successivi gli ascolti sono scesi. • Taylor Kitsch lascia “Friday Night Lights”?
  Sembra che Tim Riggins potrebbe rimanere in panchina per buona parte della futura quinta stagione di Friday Night Lights. Taylor Kitsch, l’attore che interpreta il personaggio, sarà impegnato infatti l’anno prossimo nelle riprese di John Carter of Mars, il film Disney che adatterà gli omonimi romanzi scritti da Edgar Rice Burroughs. Attualmente in USA è in onda la quarta stagione su DirectTv e anche se non c’è la conferma ufficiale di una quinta, tutto lascia presupporre che non ci saranno problemi. Jason Katims, produttore della serie ha assicurato che farà in modo di far coincidere gli impegni dell’attore (che sarà il protagonista del film) in modo da farlo apparire in più episodi possibile.
• “Supernatural” arriva a 100
  Questa primavera Supernatural arriverà a quota 100 episodi e ovviamente la puntata sarà molto speciale e centrata tutta su Dean (Jensen Ackles). Abbiamo scoperto all’inizio di questa quinta stagione che Dean è addirittura la spada dell’arcangelo Michele e che questi lo userà per condurre le forze del Paradiso contro Lucifero (Mark Pellegrino). Eric Kripke ha quindi rivelato che l’episodio vedrà esplorare proprio la relazione tra l’arcangelo e Dean. Resta da vedere come e se Michele si manifesterà.
• Brian Austin Green ritorna a “Smallville”
  Era apparso nei primi due episodi di questa nona stagione di Smallville per poi sparire, apparentemente morto ed abbiamo visto Tess Mercer (Cassidy Freeman) entrare in possesso del suo cuore di kryptonite. Sto parlando di Metallo interpretato da Brian Austin Green (Beverly Hills 90210, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles). Ora Mike Ausiello dal suo spazio su EW.com annuncia il suo ritorno nel 18° episodio che andrà in onda nel 2010.
• La ragione per cui Robin e Barney si sono “lasciati”
  I fan americani della coppia Robin-Barney, interpretati da Cobie Smulders e Neil Patrick Harris, sono rimasti molto scontenti della decisione degli autori di rompere la relazione che era appena nata dopo una lunga attesa. Il produttore esecutivo della sit-com How I Met Your Mother – E alla fine arriva mamma!, Carter Bays, assicura che la cosa era necessaria per “restituire” il leggendario Barney a tutte le donne! Battute a parte, il produttore sembra essere davvero convinto che il pubblico in fondo preferisca vedere Barney single. Non esclude comunque che in futuro possa avvenire una riconciliazione.
• Triangolo d’amore a “Dr. House”
  Nelle attuali puntate americane abbiamo assistito un vero colpo di scena che ha colpito non poco il nostro caro Dr. House (Hugh Laurie). La Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) non solo si è fidanzata, ma lo ha fatto pure con una vecchia conoscenza del dottore e cioè Lucas (Michael Weston). Cosa accadrà adesso? È presto per dirlo ma pare che in un episodio in onda a inizio 2010, Lisa si ritroverà a letto con due diverse persone nella stessa puntata!
• Un nuovo fidanzato per Chloe
  Carlo Marks interpreterà il nuovo interesse amoroso di Chloe (Allison Mack) a Smallville. Il personaggio si chiamerà Steven Swift, alias Warrior Angel. Curiosità: non è la prima volta che l’attore lavora a Smallville. Aveva già partecipato ad un episodio della settima stagione sempre nel ruolo di fidanzato di Chloe, anche se in una realtà alternativa.

  • l’episodio in onda il 9 dicembre sarà l’ultimo prima della pausa natalizia.
  • la finta gravidanza di Terri verrà finalmente scoperta.
  • Finn scoprirà di non essere il padre del bimbo di Quinn.
  • Puck vorrà prendersi le sue responsabilità nella gravidanza di Quinn.
  • nel 2010 ci sarà un episodio con solo canzoni di Madonna.
• “Grey’s Anatomy”: Cristina e Owen sopravviveranno?
  Shonda Rhimes, creatrice e produttrice di Grey’s Anatomy è riuscita a creare con Cristina (Sandra Oh) e Owen (Kevin McKidd), una nuova supercoppia molto amata. Ha allontanato così lo spettro del Dr. Burke (Isaiah Washington) che aveva bloccato, narrativamente, un po’ il personaggio della dottoressa Yang . Ora però, non contenta, ha introdotto anche la dottoressa Teddy, interpretata da Kim Raver, facendo spaventare i fan per il destino dei “Crowen”(com’è stata ribattezzata la coppia). Teddy ha dimostrato infatti di avere un profondo rapporto con Owen, maturato durante il periodo in Iraq e forse prova qualcosa in più di una semplice amicizia. Vedremo se la coppia sopravviverà. Intanto McKidd ha confidato a TvGuide di essere stato contattato da Bruno Heller (Rome, The Mentalist) per riprendere il ruolo di Vorenus in un tv movie di Rome che il creatore della serie vuole realizzare da tempo.
• Drea de Matteo non è stata licenziata da “Desperate Housewives”
  Nei giorni scorsi si era diffusa la voce che Drea de Matteo (I Soprano, Joey, Sons of Anarchy) fosse stata licenziata da Desperate Housewives – I segreti di Wisteria Lane. La notizia si era sparsa dopo che era stato pubblcato un articolo sul The National Enquirer che adduceva motivi economici dietro la scelta. In pratica la stessa cosa che era successa l’anno scorso con Nicolette Sheridan. Il solito Mike Ausiello smentisce ora la notizia dicendo che l’attrice è ancora sotto contratto e che parteciperà a 20 dei 23 episodi previsti per questa sesta stagione.

• James Franco a “General Hospital”
  Si è speculato a lungo sul motivo che ha potuto spingere un attore come James Franco (famoso al cinema per la trilogia di Spider-Man, Milk) ad unirsi al cast di una soap. Solitamente gli attori utilizzano il daytime come trampolino di lancio delle loro carriere o ci ritornano quando queste sono in declino. Ma nessuno dei due casi è quello dell’attore; alcuni scherzano che sia perché ha perso una scommessa, altri ancora che il suo manager sia molto amico con i produttori di General Hospital che non attraversa (come tutte le soap) un bel periodo dal punto vista degli ascolti. Invece l’attore si sta semplicemente documentando per un suo prossimo progetto cinematografico. Intanto ha già girato in due settimane tutte le scene previste e apparirà nella soap per circa due mesi. Nelle foto vediamo l’attore sul set insieme a Maurice Bernard (Sonny) e Kirsten Storm (Maxie).
  
• Betty White torna a “Beautiful”
  Nel dicembre 2006, a sorpresa, avevamo scoperto che la mamma di Stephanie (Susan Flannery) nominata vagamente solo qualche volta era viva e vegeta. Ad interpretarla arrivò addirittura Betty White, indimenticabile protagonista di Mary Tyler Moore e Cuori senza età. L’attrice è rimasta per un breve arco tornando poi diverse volte in questi tre anni. Ora è di nuovo nei panni di Ann Douglas per una storia che ribalterà diversi equilibri nella soap. “Sarà” assicurano i produttori “una storia di estremo impatto, che parlerà di rapporti tra madri, figlie e sorelle; di perdono e accettazione. E sarà una Betty White come non l’avete mai vista prima, che ci regalerà la migliore performance della sua carriera.” Alcuni degli episodi che la vedranno assoluta protagonista avrà presente il solo cast femminile della serie. • James van der Beek divorzia
  James van der Beek sposato con Heather Ann McComb (Cinque in famiglia, Prison Break), ha chiesto il divorzio. Si erano fidanzati nel 2003 e si sono sposati lo stesso anno a Malibu. L’attore che ricordiamo tra i protagonisti di Dawson’s Creek, è stato in un arco di episodi di One Tree Hill l’anno scorso ed apparirà prossimamente come guest star in un episodio di The Forgotten.
• Jensen Ackles e Danneel Harris sono fidanzati ufficialmente
  Jensen Ackles e Danneel Harris dopo una relazione di tre anni, si sono fidanzati ufficialmente. Gli attori interpretano, rispettivamente, le serie CW Supernatural e One Tree Hill. L’attrice ha confermato la cosa su Twitter con un semplice: Yes…!
• Adam Lambert non si scusa
  Adam Lambert, finalista dell’ottava edizione di American Idol, si è esibito ai 2009 American Music Awards domenica sera su ABC per il lancio del suo secondo album, For Your Entertainment. L’artista ha eseguito una performance abbastanza forte per gli standard del network (date un’occhiata voi stessi al video che segue) che lo ha poi censurato nel passaggio sulla West Coast. Il cantante comunque non si è affatto scusato della cosa, dicendo che il problema non lo tocca. “Credo nella libertà artistica e di espressione” ha detto “si usano purtroppo due pesi e due misure. Artiste donne hanno fatto le mie stesse cose per anni e nessuno se ne è lamentato”. Ed in effetti  ha ragione: quando Madonna baciò sia Britney Spears che Christina Aguilera ai 2003 Video Music Awards, nessuno censurò nulla e la scena venne mandata in onda diverse volte per giorni. “La gente dovrebbe aprire la propria mente e godere delle cose. È solo un gioco, non è il caso di farne un dramma.” Condividiamo…

Make a dry rub. Take bird outta brine. Dry off. apply rub. Google rubb recipe or go to hell.

And Then:
Smoke the motherfuckin bird for like 8 hours in a ~200-degree smoker. Hickory, oak, whatever.

If you do it right, it will be the BEST TURKEY YALL EVER HAD. If you do it wrong, oh well, at least you did some shit. No one can take that away from you. Not never.

Molto spesso la categoria medica parla con l’intento di ferire la mia categoria con il binomio farmacia-supermercato “vado a prendere al supermercato le garze bende, ecc ecc”. Per tale motivo occorrono più teste per offrire un servizio migliore ai clienti:
