Water prevents and helps to cure heartburn. Heartburn is a signal of water shortage in the upper

Water prevents and helps to cure heartburn.
Heartburn is a signal of water shortage in the upper part of the gastrointestinal tract. It is a major thirst signal of the human body. The use of antacids or tablet medications in the treatment of this pain does not correct dehydration, and the body continues to suffer as a result of its water shortage.

Not recognizing heartburn as a sign of dehydration and treating it with antacids and pill medications will, in time, produce inflammation of the stomach and duodenum, hiatal hernia, ulceration, and eventually cancers in the gastrointestinal tract, including the liver and pancreas.

Water prevents and helps to cure arthritis.
Rheumatoid joint pain – arthritis – is a signal of water shortage in the painful joint. It can affect the young as well as the old. The use of pain-killers does not cure the problem, but exposes the person to further damage from pain medications. Intake of water and small amounts of salt will cure this problem.

Water prevents and helps to cure back pain.
Low back pain and ankylosing arthritis of the spine are signs of water shortage in the spinal column and discs – the water cushions that support the weight of the body. These conditions should be treated with increased water intake – not a commercial treatment, but a very effective one.

Not recognizing arthritis and low back pain as signs of dehydration in the joint cavities and treating them with pain-killers, manipulation, acupuncture, and eventually surgery will, in time, produce osteoarthritis when the cartilage cells in the joints have eventually all died. It will produce deformity of the spine. It will produce crippling deformities of the limbs. Pain medications have their own life-threatening complications.

Water prevents and helps to cure angina.
Heart pain – angina – is a sign of water shortage in the heart/lung axis. It should be treated with increased water intake until the patient is free of pain and independent of medications. Medical supervision is prudent. However, increased water intake is angina’s cure.

Water prevents and helps to cure migraines.
Migraine headache is a sign of water need by the brain and the eyes. It will totally clear up if dehydration is prevented from establishing in the body. The type of dehydration that causes migraine might eventually cause inflammation of the back of the eye and possibly loss of eye sight.

Water prevents and helps to cure colitis.
Colitis pain is a signal of water shortage in the large gut. It is associated with constipation because the large intestine constricts to squeeze the last drop of water from the excrements – thus the lack of water lubrication.

Not recognizing colitis pain as a sign of dehydration will cause persistent constipation. Later in life, it will cause fecal impacting: it can cause diverticulitis, hemorrhoids and polyps, and appreciably increases the possibility of developing cancer of the colon and rectum.

Water and salt prevent and helps to cure asthma.
Asthma, which also affects 14 million children and kills several thousand of them every year, is a complication of dehydration in the body. It is caused by the drought management programs of the body. In asthma free passage of air is obstructed so that water does not leave the body in the form of vapor – the winter steam. Increased water intake will prevent asthma attacks. Asthmatics need also to take more salt to break the mucus plugs in the lungs that obstruct the free flow of air in and out of the air sacs.

Not recognizing asthma as the indicator of dehydration in the body of a growing child not only will sentence many thousands of children to die every year, but will permit irreversible genetic damage to establish in the remaining 14 million asthmatic children.

Water prevents and helps to cure high blood pressure.
Hypertension is a state of adaptation of the body to a generalized drought, when there is not enough water to fill all the blood vessels that diffuse water into vital cells. As part of the mechanism of reverse osmosis, when water from the blood serum is filtered and injected into important cells through minute holes in their membranes, extra pressure is needed for the “injection process.” Just as we inject I.V. “water” in hospitals, so the body injects water into tens of trillions of cells all at the same time. Water and some salt intake will bring blood pressure back to normal!

Not recognizing hypertension as one of the major indicators of dehydration in the human body, and treating it with diuretics that further dehydrate the body will, in time, cause blockage by cholesterol of the heart arteries and the arteries that go to the brain. It will cause heart attacks and small or massive strokes that paralyze. It will eventually cause kidney disease. It will cause brain damage and neurological disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease.

Water prevents and helps to cure early adult-onset diabetes.
Adult-onset diabetes is another adaptive state to severe dehydration of the human body. To have adequate water in circulation and for the brain’s priority water needs, the release of insulin is inhibited to prevent insulin from pushing water into all body cells. In diabetes, only some cells get survival rations of water. Water and some salt will reverse adult-onset diabetes in its early stages.

Not recognizing adult-onset diabetes as a complication of dehydration will, in time, cause massive damage to the blood vessels all over the body. It will cause eventual loss of the toes, feet and legs from gangrene. It will cause eye damage, even blindness.

Water lowers blood cholesterol.
High cholesterol levels are an indicator of early drought management by the body. Cholesterol is a clay-like material that is poured in the gaps of some cell membranes to safeguard them against losing their vital water content to the osmotically more powerful blood circulating in their vicinity. Cholesterol, apart from being used to manufacture nerve cell membranes and hormones, is also used as a “shield” against water taxation of other vital cells that would normally exchange water through their cell membranes.

Today’s post I would like to give credit to three docs. The well-known Dr Oz who inspired part of the title of this blog. On a Larry King special in January with key people from Oprah’s closest circle of advisers, Dr Oz said words to the effect of, “It’s about the rest of your life” whether you lose weight or not, referring to the importance of getting the body, mind and soul acting in harmony. The line has stayed with me throughout the months as I put into practice the many strategies I will share here. Dr Oz always delivers health information in a way that gets through to me.

The next doc, Dr Dave, is relatively new to me, but just as helpful. His tell-it-like-it-is style delivered with genuine concern makes a lot of sense to me. I subscribe to his tips newsletter and find myself satisfied that I am doing much of what he recommends or inspired and nudged to make subtle changes here and there. You can search his archives for many worthwhile articles. Like me, he recommends the use of increased protein, through good quality sources. It’s not all about meat. For me, the thing I’ve learnt about the low carb way is that it is not no carb. Quality carbohydrates also known as “complex carbohydrates” basically covers most vegetables, many fruits and fibrous grains. These are things we know we’re supposed to eat more of. Limiting all the other types of carbs and eating up to six small meals throughout the day has worked wonders for me as I have lost, since January 2009, 24 pounds (11 kg).

And finally, but by no means least, Dr Deepak Chopra. Nourish the soul and you nourish the body. Lots of amazing messages can be found here.

Sitting here on a Thanksgiving weekend, I am roused to concern as I am watching Dr. Oz on television

Sitting here on a Thanksgiving weekend, I am roused to concern as I am watching Dr. Oz on television. Today’s episode is on over-the-counter medication, and the most common dangers of mixing your prescriptions with over-the-counter medications.

For example if you are on blood thinners like coumadin you should be aware than many supplements, as well as over-the-counter meds, are also blood thinners. Garlic, ginger, ginko biloba are all blood thinners. As are aspirin and some other OTC pain pills. Some people are on several of these things at the same time!

What to do? Be sure to tell your doctor if you are taking these supplements. Dr. Oz used the example of someone bleeding internally potentially bleeding out due to overly thinned blood and an abnormal reduction in platelets (our natural blood clotters).

Another danger is over-the-counter decongestants. These are very bad for diabetics and people with high blood pressure, as they raise your blood pressure and can be very dangerous for someone who is hypertensive.

Dr. Oz had several experts on the show and used various experts to support his warnings. But none of this means you shouldn’t take supplements or vitamins, or that you should not use OTC meds. It only means that you should do at least one of two thing: One, thoroughly research what you take before you take it. Which means look it up on the internet or take the time to read the accompanying literature. You can go to a health food store and ask them about what you are taking, or pick up a good book on the subject. Two, make a note of all your supplements and vitamins, and everything in your medicine cabinet (whether you are currently using them or not), and take it with you to your next doctors visit.

The Government Got It Right November 24th, 2009 A change in the sensitivity of your breasts, other t

The Government Got It Right

November 24th, 2009

A change in the sensitivity of your breasts, other than pain, might be a symptom of menopause, but it also might be something more severe. It could be mastic breast tissue, cysts, breast disease, or even neuropathy related to multiple sclerosis or fibromyalgia. It can also be a warning sign of breast cancer.

The new government recommendations on breast cancer screening were surprising to many doctors, but I happen to agree with them. The government is currently recommending against regular mammography tests for women aged 40 to 49. The guidelines also downplay the effectiveness of self-examinations and advise that women aged 50 to 74 years receive mammograms every other year. The change in early detection direction came from a U.S. Preventive Services Task Force comprised of a government panel of doctors and scientists. They concluded that early and frequent screenings by mammography often lead to false alarms and unneeded biopsies without substantially improving a woman’s odds of survival.

I agree with these new guidelines. First, I have not been a fan of mammograms for some time. I find that mammograms are not nearly as effective in detection as some other tests, like MRI’s and ultrasounds. I also have found that even when I teach my patients how to complete a manual breast exam, they are less than effective.

I support the new guidelines because I think it will lead to better testing. The ultrasound is a better screening procedure that’s safer and easier and picks up things fast. I believe that women should receive ultrasounds every year as part of their routine medical exam, beginning at an early age. If needed, MRI or PET scans can detect lumps and bumps better than any mammogram ever could.

Dr. Oz is set to receive the first-ever honorary CLIO Healthcare award. Does he deserve it? YEEESSS – what can’t this man do? He represents all that is good in this world – work ethic, smarts, love for people and absolute ability to change the face of health in this country. I’ve become a huge fan of his non-profit program, Healthcorps. The program is modeled after the ‘Peacecorps’ which invites recent college graduates with an interest in public health or medicine to take two years off and work as coordinators in urban high schools across the nation teaching skills in diet and exercise, stress management and lifestyle.

The success is infectious – reaching over 55 schools across the country. These idealistic grads are making a real difference for teenagers, parents, siblings, teachers, counselors and even custodians. Healthcorps programs go beyond teaching in the classroom including community events, parent-nights, after-school programs, etc. Teenagers in these programs are experiencing significant life changes from weight management to stress management to absolute positive changes in their overall interest in school. This next generation will have a successful impact in our world. We need this! We need Dr. Oz and we need Healthcorps – thank goodness for these kinds of programs. Click for more information.

In watching a recent Dr. Oz episode I learned that when you hear gurgling your stomach area that it is not actually your stomach, but your small intestines. What will relieve this gas is eating Greek strained yogurt.

He served the Greek yogurt with honey, but I enjoy it as a sour cream substitute. It tastes more like non-fat sour cream to me. I enjoy it as a dip with no salt tortilla chips. This is great for a low sodium diet, too. The Greek Yogurt I purchase at Trader Joe’s has no sodium or cholesterol.

He mentioned that eating too fast and drinking from a straw may also cause gurgling sounds because you are swallowing air.

Yogurt is a great probiotic which is very healthy for you. But let us skip all those sugary yogurts, please!

The part I care about is that they could show up in my bed, drinking my blood. (Have bed bugs and the makers of Twilight planned this as some sort of sick marketing plan? Just a crazy thought.)

My sister mentioned this once and said their house got infested, but things never sink in when she says them (because I feel like she’s just mothering me again). Shame on me for not paying closer attention to her, and for sleeping in her bed-bugged-house, without a care in the world.

After 25 years of dominating daytime TV & talk shows, the Queen of ALL Media- Ms. Oprah Winfrey-

After 25 years of dominating daytime TV & talk shows, the Queen of ALL Media- Ms. Oprah Winfrey- will be shutting it down on Sept. 8, 2011. Personally I’m too choked up to give a statement right now. However, this is what Ms. Winfrey had to say on the matter:

“After much prayer and months of careful thought, I have decided that next season, Season 25, will be the last season of The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Over the next couple of days, you may hear a lot of speculation in the press about why I am making this decision now…and that will mostly be conjecture.

So I wanted you to hear this directly from me.
Twenty-four years ago, on September 8, 1986, I went live from Chicago to launch the first national Oprah Winfrey Show. I was beyond excited…and as you all might expect, a little nervous. I knew then what a miraculous opportunity I had been given, but I certainly never could have imagined the “yellow brick road” of blessings that have led me to this moment with you.

These years with you, our viewers, have enriched my life beyond all measure. And you all have graciously invited me into your living rooms, into your kitchens and into your lives. And for some of you longtime Oprah viewers, you have literally “grown up” with me—we’ve grown together. You had your families, and you raised your children and you left a spot for me in your morning or your afternoon, depending on when The Oprah Show airs in your town.

So I just wanted to say that whether you’ve been here with me from the beginning or you came on board last week, I want you all to know that my relationship with you is one that I hold very dear. And your trust in me, the sharing of your precious time every day with me has brought me the greatest joy I have ever known.

So here we are, halfway through the season, 24, and it still means as much to me to spend an hour every day with you as it did back in 1986. So why walk away and make next season the last?

Here is the real reason: I love this show. This show has been my life. And I love it enough to know when it’s time to say good-bye.

Twenty-five years feels right in my bones and it feels right in my spirit. It’s the perfect number—the exact right time. So I hope that you will take this 18-month ride with me right through to the final show.

I was watching Dr. Oz last night and he explained that there has been a link between cell phones and brain cancer. To summarize:

using your cell phone can possibly give you brain cancer/ tumors

If you have it in your pocket and use a bluetooth, it is delivering radiation to your lower organs and bonemarrow. It has even been proven to lower sperm count.

Best thing to do is keep it in ur purse or “man bag” and use the “oldschool” handsfree headset instead of a bluetooth, which also delivers signals (and therefore radiation).

There’s more radiation delivered when there is less reception because the signals sent out are even stronger.

Watch the episode here. http://www.doctoroz.com/videos/tuesday-dr-oz

“According to experts, when a connection is established with a cell phone and cell phone tower, it results in the creation of electromagnetic radiation. Since we always hold the phone against our ear while talking, this radiation tends to penetrate in the brain. However, the risk of getting brain cancer is more in people who make heavy use of this device. Based on reports, very soon the World Health Organization will also announce that few types of brain cancer and tumors can be caused due to long term use of cell phones. Between the years 2000 to 2004, a study was conducted in 13 countries on over 12,800 people and it was concluded that if an individual uses mobile phones continuously for 10 years or more, brain tumor risks increase to a great extent.”

This episode just goes to show how much we are on our own as it comes to our own bodies: how we perceive them and how we heal them.

Women all over the country must have uttered, arrrrgggghhhh! yesterday, on hearing about the new guidelines for getting a mammogram, basically that women should begin screenings at age 50, not age 40 and get them every two years, not every year. Frankly, though, each individual woman is different.

“That is, the likelihood of having a false positive test with all the attendant anxiety, the additional imaging tests, perhaps even leading to biopsy that may have been unnecessary,” said Dr. Diana Petitti of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force.

Major medical groups still recommend mammograms under 50 and worry this new advice may confuse patients.

“The worst outcome for this study would be for women to throw up their arms and say, ‘well, I’m not going to get screened at all,’” said the American Cancer Society’s Len Lichtenfeld.

They argue the government puts more emphasis on computer models than real patients.

“We’re not satisfied at this point that the approach that they used is sufficient and adequate to discard a proven way of saving lives from breast cancer,” Lichtenfeld said.

Sabrina Singletary’s 41 and says she’ll still get a mammogram every year.

But with the government now recommending against it it’s unclear if insurance will pay.

I didn’t panic. I have paternal aunts who are being treated for breast cancer. Which means that I am already alerted to the danger. I’m the next one on the fast track to have breast cancer. Then again, I may not, but I am not taking any chances. I self-examine myself every other month. I know what a lump feels like. One evening, someone came to see us at the women’s residence hall I once lived in during the Nineties to talk about breast cancer. She passed to us nearly accurate plastic representations of breasts that included abnormalities. The “cancerous” lump felt crinkly, hard…and scary. That’s what I look for every other month.

Here in Wisconsin, they finally offered Badger Care Plus to single individuals between the ages of 18-64. When I finally get my card, I will get my first mammogram in four years, and my first full physical work-up in several years that will include a gynecological exam. It will mean the end of rationing my own blood pressure and cholesterol medication that I sometimes cannot afford while on unemployment insurance. I’ll be able to get a better examination of my arms and head for the fall that I suffered this summer, when I nearly blacked out.

I do, however, take Vitamin D, which has been proven to be helpful for breast health and perhaps even warding off the onset of breast cancer. I am also thinking of taking niacin as well as getting back on policosanol, and pumpkin oil. Cutting down on fatty foods, drinking water instead of pop, drinking red wine once a week, eating more fruits and veggies and eating less in portions also helps. The heavier you are, the more cholesterol in your body, the more possibility of tumors. Keeping up with the prescriptions will be easier; but for continued use of the supplements and better food, employment stability is best.

Working, however, whether in academe or in business makes you do things–or exercise–as well as sit down at a computer. Like running for a bus, walking back and forth to the work place, climbing stairs, standing, bending, pushing. I have to do that job hunting online, and I’ve only gotten one interview for the first time in months today. I try to stay active and even walk around the Capitol Square some days, but it’s not easy.

The thing is, I have a feeling when my body is not as cooperative, and it has less to do with being heavy or older. It’s just that I get stressed because things are yet out of my control, when I have to delay making an appointment or reschedule it. When I was working and had a health plan, I was cognizant of yearly exams, dental exams, and so forth. There was a framework. If something went wrong between those times, I went to the doctor until I found out what it was. It’s been harder to get medical care because I haven’t had a medical or dental plan since 2005, and nothing before that time since 2000.

A back tooth has broken; masticating is harder without some pain. When I fell this summer, I told the emergency room doctors that I had hit my head. The paramedics had loudly announced to them that I had not been drinking. The doctors gave me nothing for it, except to suggest that I get over-the-counter Tylenol. When I felt the dried blood matting my hair a day later I was angry–more angry at myself than at the doctors, because I could not help and protect this body, this house where I reside. You cannot even demand the minimum of respect from doctors and nurses. My concerns and needs were not unreasonable. They don’t give, even of themselves, unless there’s money crossing their palms, and then perhaps, maybe they will take care of you. It’s like they’re gypsies, not health professionals. The stereotype about gypsies is that they tell fortunes, they don’t give you facts. They robbed you blind if you didn’t watch it. Sometimes I think that is exactly what health care is like. Bedside manner–and not just the bottom line–could save lives.

Which is one of the reasons why I am not upset over the new guidelines, which some argue are the same as the ones in Canada. After the anger and recriminations over the connections between hormone replacement therapy and cancer, I left it to myself to judge what to do, and not just leave it the people on high. Sure, I listen to them, but I also read up on alternative medicine experts and women’s health proponents, particularly those advocates who treat black women. And I listen to my own body, and sometimes I take notes.

And yet, 33.8′% of black women are more likely to develop and die from breast cancer, most probably because many of them do not have access to quality health care that includes mammograms. I may know when something is wrong and I may be kept financially from correcting a problem, but many other black women don’t know much about their own bodies and how they work, even sexually. They don’t even know what a mammogram is and why in hell they have to have it. Sometimes, they don’t even know how to examine themselves for lumps. To tell black women that they don’t need to have procedures that might save their lives, whether it’s poor or middle-class black women, sounds like a recipe for genocide. They are far too many black women dying at 25 and 42 from breast cancer.

Some tend to feel that the radiation risk for mammograms should rule the procedure out completely. However, the dose of radiation is very small. The older a woman is, though, the less of a risk. The fear of radiation exposure is for younger women who have also had extensive chest x-ray tests or radiation treatment for other maladies.

I find it interesting that these new guidelines should also pop up during the current debate over health care reform. Some more radical voices say that this is how the health care industry will eventually ration certain procedures after reform. Possibly, but I would say that every woman, including every black woman and woman of color, should follow her own counsel. If you feel that having a mammogram or a breast MRI would be effective because you have a family history of breast cancer, or that you are a black woman of 42 or 46 who wants to see what’s up, then you should have one. Period. If it’s only to set your mind to rest, you should ask your doctor for one. If you two should come to a disagreement about its feasibility in your case, then get that second opinion or even a third.

(Frankly, some doctors and consumers are upset about this development; they are not going to all submit to these guidelines just yet. There is something to be said about false positives and false negatives in mammograms, but there is also the fact that women in their forties–and even their thirties and twenties–have been accurately diagnosed with breast cancer.)

Be your own advocate in this and any other situations. Read. Keep a diary of your medical problems , what they feel like, and how you feel about them and discuss them with your doctor, specialist or nurse-practitioner. Get a group of girlfriends together and compare notes and educate yourselves. Even get together to watch The Doctors or Dr. Oz and talk about what this or that means, not just about breast health.

When it comes down to the final analysis, you have to become your own best friend and work on your own behalf, because they won’t. Not any more. Many medical schools got rid of the Hippocratic Oath in the 1970s. The doctors may not really be for you at all but for themselves and even the hospital model or rules. Nine times out of ten, you may know or sense more than they do, without the student loans, the expertise, the chi-chi car, and the McHouse or apartment.

Keep doing what you are already doing right, yet do no harm. Okay?

Recently I had a chance to talk with the Cellulite Analyst who runs the Cellulite Investigation Blog

Recently I had a chance to talk with the Cellulite Analyst who runs the Cellulite Investigation Blog. She is interested in determining the errors in conventional thinking about cellulite, coming to a better understanding of cellulite, and learning how to get rid of cellulite. Her work and training as an intelligence analyst are helping her to sort through the ambiguous, ambivalent, and incomplete data on cellulite.

The conventional view of cellulite can be summed up by a discussion between Dr. Oz and Oprah. Most physicians believe that cellulite is an inevitable part of aging and although it is not that much fun, it doesn’t really matter. Guys don’t care about it or notice it, etc… They urge you to move quietly along and not challenge the conventional view put forward by your “betters.”

This viewpoint was disheartening to the Analyst. Although there didn’t seem to be anything that could be done about it. After this time she heard about dry brushing, and which she tried and noticed changes to her cellulite during her first couple of weeks. This is very interesting because this is the same amount of time that it took Richard Morris to notice improvements in his health after shifting to a Weston Price inspired diet. The Analyst first experienced a rash forming which she knew to expect from researching the dry brushing method. The rash disappeared in about a week. She also got a very large canker sore, which made her think her body was undergoing some sort of detoxification process as a result of the dry brushing. She was amazed that after just a few weeks of dry brushing, she saw what she estimated as a 50 percent decrease in her cellulite. This improvement led her to launch her online investigation to gather similar reports from other women who have had success treating cellulite and to determine if there is a way to get rid of it completely. The analyst also had formative experiences while spending time abroad in Scotland and Senegal. While overseas she was not exposed to the drawbacks of the American lifestyle such as fluoridation and had remissions of her acne and cellulite.

Cellulite is a symptom of the lymphatic congestion. The lymph system serves as a second circulatory system. Blood carries nutrients to the cells while the lymph system removes waste from the cells. Science has not arrived at a good understanding of the lymph system, so many of its workings are still confusing. I found that this is true about the circulatory system as well. In Fourfold Path to Healing, Dr. Thomas Cowan details how our understanding of the circulatory system is incorrect because the heart does not actually pump the blood out to the body: it serves as a hydraulic ram. When the lymph system becomes congested, it cannot get rid of all the waste. Since the body releases of a lot of waste through the skin, it makes sense that the cellulite and other skin conditions could be caused from a buildup of waste matter.

To be continued…

Ray Salomone, Personal Trainer and Wellness Activist

You can’t anti-age. It’s impossible. So if any organization, service or product claims to help you “anti-age” then prepare to be ripped off. It continues to amaze me that so many people are still falling for these scams. Pills, potions, lotions and creams are being pushed on us, promising everything from fat loss to vital organ rejuvenation.

I’ve been incensed by the relentless internet scams and I’ve warned off hundreds of thousands of people around the world. But millions more, who can ill-afford to throw their money away, are doing just that in their quest for eternal youth.

Most products are outright garbage. Some are potentially dangerous. Others definitely harmful. Most of the scammers are hooked up with computer geeks who have set up elaborate layers of insulation and parked their computer servers offshore in Costa Rica or the Caribbean. They are reaping millions of dollars.

Others are “wellness gurus” pushing nonsense concoctions on vulnerable clientele who are pressured to use their credit card to rack up thousands of dollars in purchases. Still other scams are pyramid based like Taislim and Acai Berry.

Even the rich fall for this. I was on Madison Avenue last week when I paused in front of the shop of Dr. Nicholas Perricone. I was a fan of Dr. Perricone when he promoted “superfoods” like blueberries and salmon. But once he realized that there was much more money to be had in pimping potions and lotions, I’ve seen him reduced to just another huckster. Not satisfied to fleece the rich who pay his rent, he also is all over QVC promising a return to youth for women who are ready and eager to buy.

Based on my blog traffic, people are on to the Cenegenics scam, but many still fall for it. Shame to see that times are so tough that the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times are running Cenegenics advertisements.

Those you can’t afford to buy these products still want a quick fix. Those with money to burn want the same. What they lack is understanding of reality and the patience to do the necessary things to age as well as possible. You can’t anti-age, but you can do a damn good job of aging.

Se uppföljningen i klippet nedan:

Skönt att baconfettsfanatikerna får lite mothugg i hälsodebatten. Sedan bör man ju såklart helst välja bort animalier av omtanke för djuren. Det här är bara ett plus i kanten.

It has never been more urgent or more difficult to collect patient-responsible balances. The combination of high-deductible health insurance plans increasing in popularity and the massive loss of medical benefits creates a pressing need for medical practices to re-evaluate patient collections. A strong collections program and the timely collection of patient balances are critical to the viability of the modern healthcare practice – important to the communities served as a source of patient care and a contributor to the local economy.

Healthcare has traditionally been a care-first and collect the money later type of business. Traditionally, payments from insurance companies were enough to keep medical practices viable, and many practices did not worry about patient collections. Today, the financial responsibility for payment for health services is swinging further and further toward the patient, and often without many patients understanding what is happening.

The Practice Should Assume Responsibility for Being the Insurance Expert for the Patient
Learn the payers, learn the plans, and help the patient understand what coverage and financial responsibilities they have. This book does not focus on filing claims, but insurance cannot be separated from the total payment process. To know the patient-responsible portion, the practice must know what the insurer/payer will pay. The ideal relationship is one where the patient relies on the practice for straightforward, non-biased information about paying for healthcare.

Disclose All Fees and Terms of Service Before the Patient Incurs a Financial Responsibility
Patients have the right to know your prices, compare your prices with other healthcare providers and make an informed decision about spending their money. It is part of the practice of healthcare that the patient acknowledges (whether they have the means to pay or not) that they have received something of value.

Remember – Your Practice Is In the Business of Compassion
Patients are not buying televisions or cars from you, they are buying the most important thing in the world – good, quality healthcare services and advice. Whether you believe that healthcare is a privilege or a right, always temper patient collections with the knowledge that paying for healthcare for themselves or their loved ones is a personal and often emotional transaction.

November 10, 2009

Dr. Mehmet Oz is a huge promoter of vaccines. He’s been on television reinforcing fear about H1N1 swine flu and telling everyone to get vaccinated. But what he didn’t tell his viewing audience is that he holds 150,000 option shares in a vaccine company that could earn him millions of dollars in profits as the stock price rises. It is in Dr. Oz’s own financial interest, in other words, to hype up vaccines and get more people taking them so that his own financial investments rise in value.

Evidence describing these facts was delivered to NaturalNews by a private investigator named Joseph Culligan (http://webofdeception.com/oprah.html#oz). That evidence includes an SEC document detailing how Dr. Oz. bought options on stocks for SIGA Technologies in 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2009. SIGA Technologies (stock symbol SIGA) is a vaccine technology company with many advanced developments whose success depends on the widespread adoption of vaccines. According to SEC documents, Dr. Mehmet Oz. currently holds 150,000 option shares on SIGA Technologies, purchased for as little as $1.35 back in 2005.

At the time of this writing, SIGA Technologies is trading at $7.10, making those options bought in 2005 worth $5.75 in profits today. If all the 150,000 options purchased by Dr. Oz. were exercised today, they would be worth roughly $180,000 in profits (they were bought at different prices, not all at $1.35). This is all revealed in what the SEC website calls an “insider transaction” document (link below).

These options won’t expire until the years 2015 – 2019, and the higher the stock price of SIGA gets before then, the more profit can be realized when these options are cashed out. You can see the 2019 expiration date in this “insider transaction” form: http://sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/…

If the stock price of SIGA Technologies could be pumped up even more — say, from someone hyping up vaccines in front of a national audience — these options could mathematically be worth millions of dollars. Just to clarify, by the way, SIGA Technologies doesn’t currently manufacture a vaccine for H1N1 swine flu. It focuses on future vaccine technologies that could be applied to many different vaccines down the road.

Dr. Oz. isn’t merely a holder of SIGA stock options, by the way: He’s on the Board of Directors! As SIGA’s own website explains, Dr. Oz has served on the board since 2001 and continues his role there today. This brings up the obvious question:

Is it right for someone talking about whether vaccines are safe on television to also be carrying stock options and serving on the board of directors of a vaccine company at the same time?

Just to make things a little more interesting, SIGA Technologies recently received a $3 million grant in taxpayer dollars from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The purpose of the grant money? To fund the study of a chemical adjunct named ST-246 to be used in future vaccines. So taxpayer money is now being used to fund a vaccine technology company whose stock price increases will financially benefit the very celebrity doctor who is hyping up vaccines to a national audience.

Something sounds fishy here…

Doctors Bribed To Push Swine Flu Vaccine On Reluctant Public
Health authorities offer extra bonuses for each shot in an attempt to counter mass resistance to H1N1 shot

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet.com
November 10, 2009

Doctors in Britain are effectively being bribed by health authorities to push the swine flu vaccine on a reluctant public after suspicions over the safety of the shot resulted in huge numbers of people refusing to take it.

The government originally intended for the entire population of the UK to receive the H1N1 vaccine but less than half have indicated that they will take the shot.

Multiple opinion polls have revealed that half of GPs in Britain have severe reservations and doubts over the safety of the shot.

A much larger Nursing Times magazine poll in August also found that 30% of all frontline nurses said they would refuse to be immunized, with another 33% saying they were unsure over the vaccine.

50% of pregnant women in the UK have also said they will refuse the vaccine.

This resistance has prompted health authorities to bribe doctors to push the vaccine on the public in the form of new bonuses for each and every shot they give, on top of those already in place.

“NHS managers in Birmingham have told family doctors they will be able to get extra payments – on top of the £5.25 they already get per jab – if they meet targets on vaccination rates,” reports the Daily Mail.

“If they vaccinate more than 90 per cent of those deemed at risk of the disease in their area, they will get 50 per cent more per jab, meaning they will be paid £7.88 for every person they vaccinate.”

Doctors who achieve a 40 per cent uptake will receive an extra 10 per cent bonus. In total, the bonuses are potentially worth thousands of pounds per practice.

Critics expressed outrage that doctors were effectively being bribed to become drug pushers for the government.

Jackie Fletcher, of vaccination support group Jabs, said: ‘There are huge questions about the integrity of vaccine decisions if doctors are paid to give them.

‘All vaccines carry a risk of side effects. Can we be confident GPs will tell patients about these risks if they are being paid extra to ensure a high uptake?

‘Rather than paying bonuses, the Department of Health should be investigating possible side effects.’

As we highlighted last week, mass resistance to the vaccine has prompted elitists to devise deceptive schemes in an attempt to get more people to take the shot. During a recent Council on Foreign Relations meeting, Andrew Jack, Pharmaceutical Correspondent for the Financial Times, conceded that “the anti-vaccine movement is having a field day on the internet” and that the CFR, via its many members which occupy prominent positions in the establishment media, should conspire to counter negative information about the swine flu vaccine.

At around the same time, Sir Liam Donaldson, the Chief Medical Officer in England, described people who express doubts about the swine flu vaccine as “extremists”.

During another part of the discussion on whether or not the vaccine should be made mandatory for health workers and school children, Lone Simonsen, Research Professor and Research Director at the Department of Global Health, George Washington University, suggests creating an artificial scarcity in order to ramp up demand for the vaccine.

“I think what would work better would be to say that there was a shortage and people tend to buy more of something that’s in demand. (Laughter.) We saw that — there was one season where, really, people lined up all night to get a flu shot.” Simonsen says, much to the amusement of the other attendees at the symposium.

But this is exactly the scam being run by the corporate media. Endless stories about shortages in supply, allied with footage of members of the public queuing for hours to receive the vaccine, have created a contrived sense of scarcity, similar to how toy companies manufacture a stampede for a particular item before Christmas by floating stories about something being low in stock.

Watch a clip from the CFR meeting below.

I can’t believe it’s Thursday already, NOVEMBER 12! Where on earth has the year gone, let alone this week. I’m still sitting at home sick, going to go and see the Doctor tomorrow- that’s the earliest I could get in. I think maybe my cold has turned into Bronchitis and that’s why I’m having trouble shaking this cold. I realized today that I was supposed to have done a mid-term this week for this stupid mineral rights course I’ve been taking online. I was supposed to book the exam before last week, and I didn’t. I’ve emailed the instructor with my best plead for an extension- we’ll see where that gets me. I haven’t even read most of the course material yet, to be honest. Whoops- that’s what happens when you’re just not interested in the course you’re taking.

Tomorrow I’m on a mission to feel better because I have plans. I need to do some shopping during the day and then I’m meeting my internet buddy Brad at a bar to watch the hockey game. We’ve been talking about meeting up to watch a game for months so hopefully I’m feeling well enough to make it! (Brad and I are JUST friends. We met on POF probably over a year ago.) After the game I’m going to see the movie 2012 with my girlfriend T. THEN, on Saturday night, I’m heading to my friend LS’s place for her hubby’s 30th birthday party: Dirty 30’s themed!! I’m so pumped. Helloooo feather boa (I have an obsession with boas- I will jump at any excuse to wear one)! I’ve got to find one of those long cigarette sticks like they had back then, maybe at a costume shop. I’ve been to a couple Burlesque bachelorette parties so I have the rest of the props already. Whoo hoo!

Okay as I’m sitting here writing this, I’m watching Dr. Oz on TV. He’s got a pair of dried up testicles on a platter, it’s a segment on sperm. I don’t know what the point of telling you that is, I guess I just needed to share my horror.

Speaking of sperm… I’ve been debating if I should blog about this or not but this is my blog and it’s my “safe space” so I’m going to just go for it. I slept with McClingy. Ahhh there, I said it. *runs and hides* No, I he didn’t push me into it and I didn’t agree to start dating him again. We agreed on just remaining friends (which I think is obviously going to be a problem for him and I may have to re-think it) and he came over to hang out and he kissed me and one thing led to another and he was asking me if I wanted to and all I could think was *January! I haven’t had sex since January!* and so stating the obvious: I said yes. It was mediocre. I haven’t had much of a libido since I’ve been sick. Damn. Oh well, no regrets!

P.S. Though that topic started with me talking about sperm- NO I am not pregnant! Just clarifying!

UPDATE As a response to this article by Natural News, SIGA Technologies sent out their PR dogs to tr

UPDATE
As a response to this article by Natural News, SIGA Technologies sent out their PR dogs to try and get Natural News to retract the MOST DAMNING fact within the article, that is, SIGA Technologies being tied to the vaccine industry. It did take long for Natural News to uncover SEVERAL DOCUMENTS tying SIGA Technologies to the vaccine industry.

Question back at SIGA Technologies. Do you REALLY want to take this to court and, even further take this to THE COURT OF PUBLIC OPINION? Because, this will be all over mainstream news due to Dr; Oz pushing vaccine safety on Oprah.

Natural News responds to SIGA Technologies threat.

When Dr. Oz tells YOU to get and give the H1N1 vaccine to YOUR kids, PLEASE understand why HIS kids didn’t get it. Also, question the validity of Dr. Oz’s Claim he actually took the vaccine.

Source & Links
(NaturalNews) Dr.

Conflict of interest?
To my knowledge, Dr. Oz. has never disclosed to his viewing audience the fact that he owns 150,000 option shares of SIGA Technologies. And yet, with an audience of millions, Dr. Oz has continued to beat the drum of the vaccine industry, urging people to get vaccinated while implying that vaccines protect people from swine flu (even though there is absolutely no scientific evidence to back up that claim).

Here’s a link to the SEC document detailing Dr. Oz’s ownership of these 150,000 option shares:
In addition to holding stock options in a vaccine technology company, Dr. Oz. is also a front man for the RealAge website, a sort of “health front group” for the pharmaceutical industry that uses information provided by RealAge members to solicit consumers with pro-pharma marketing message targeted by age or health condition.

Corporate sponsors of RealAge include most of the major drug companies and their most profitable pharmaceutical products such as Adderall, Ambien and Celebrex. The companies sponsoring RealAge include GlaxoSmithKline, Genentech, Wyeth and many others. RealAge is essentially a marketing platform for Big Pharma, disguised to look like a consumer health information service.

The New York Times calls RealAge “a window for drug makers” (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/26/t…) and explains, “The test has received widespread publicity because of its affiliation with Dr. Mehmet Oz.”

This NY Times article goes on to explain how the RealAge scheme operates:

People come to the site, then provide an e-mail address to take [the RealAge test]. They are asked throughout the test if they would like a free RealAge membership. If people answer yes to any of the prompts, they become RealAge members, and their test results go into a marketing database.

RealAge allows drug companies to send e-mail messages based on those test results. It acts as a clearinghouse for drug companies, including Pfizer, Novartis and GlaxoSmithKline, allowing them to use almost any combination of answers from the test to find people to market to, including whether someone is taking antidepressants, how sexually active they are and even if their marriage is happy.

RealAge sends the selected recipients a series of e-mail messages about a condition they might have, usually sponsored by a drug company that sells a medication for that condition.

The RealAge ads seen all over the internet do not openly disclose that taking the RealAge test gets you signed up to be solicited by Big Pharma for medication advertisements. Dr. Oz’s continued promotion of this service has exposed tens of millions of health consumers to this deceptive marketing front for Big Pharma.

How much has Dr. Oz earned from his affiliation with RealAge? He isn’t saying.

Front man for Big Pharma?
In my view, Dr. Mehmet Oz. is a front man for Big Pharma and the vaccine industry. He’s pushing vaccines for his own personal financial gain while championing one of the largest internet Big Pharma marketing scams yet concocted.

Dr. Oz. stands to profit millions of dollars from helping creating demand for vaccines, and yet he does not disclose to his audience this huge, blatant conflict of interest. Sadly, by catapulting his career from her own show, Oprah has inadvertently unleashed a vaccine pusher onto the general public and given him influence over millions of people who may now be corralled into services like RealAge that seek to sell more drugs to unsuspecting consumers.

I respect Oprah. She’s an amazing achiever. But I don’t respect all the wannabe celebrity leeches who use her to launch their own careers and then exploit their newfound popularity for financial gain at the expense of the public.

Shame on Dr. Oz. for his financial conflicts of interest and his strong affiliation with the deadly pharmaceutical industry. Through his actions, Dr. Oz. has aligned himself with precisely the evil corporations that are destroying health in America today. Does the man have no shame?

He may not have any shame, but he does have 150,000 stock options that could be worth millions in the years ahead.

My mom watches Dr. Oz to get healthier. She has irritable bowel syndrome, and on one of the shows he says what foods can cause problems. Which is basically carbonated drinks and fried foods. That’s pretty much all my mom eats/drinks. Now she refuses to stop eating/drinking those things. Basically, my mom wants to get healthier but doesn’t want to take the proper steps to get there. -jeenyus1

Apparently, because of him there has been a serious influx of women mistaking indegestion for a heart attack because he claimed that 200 women died last year from misdiagnosing themselves. Unfortunately, now my ER doctor buddy has like 2 women a day coming in thinking they are having a heart attack after a pizza lunch or something. What an asshole. The only thing he’s offering is fear.

How would YOU describe the taste of Bubble Gum to someone who has never tasted it before? -CalvinClimb

Sweet, like a combination of fruits you’ve never tasted.

When you think about it, there’s not a huge difference between a PS3 and a 360 controller. -floridan18

The XBox controller just feels like a toaster oven in my hands. It’s bulky, heavy and requires batteries. There’s a huge difference for my needs, personally. Doesn’t make it better, just makes it my preference.

Are there any commercials on TV you can’t stand? I hate that Trident Layers commercial. No one accepts gum as form of compensation. No one. -ceilingcatyay

Thanks to my DVR, I don’t have the problem of watching commercials very much. But some might sneak in during live sporting events. The new Snuggie one with the synthesizer theme song and they’re raising the roof throughout the commercial is pretty ridiculous. “Raising the roof” hasn’t been appropriate since 1998. And they’ve got it all over this commercial like it’s the new dance craze.

Know what pisses me off? Telemarketers that call you and put you on HOLD. Seriously? You’re going to call me with some annoying sales pitch, and you want me to hold the line while you find someone to give it to me? -andyiceberg

Are you kidding? This is where you hang up. Never has there been a greater invitation to disconnect the line, return the phone to its dock and go about your day. Either that, or get a cell phone.

So it’s been nearly a decade and I still have not seen a valid explanation for World Trade Center 7 collapsing days after the attacks. -Argentiny

And you will continue to not get a valid explanation because you have already invalidated the truth.

Mad Men is just a soap opera for elitist douchebags. -mnstip

It’s really about romanticizing the era. Theres a lot of nostalgia to be had on that show for us older folks. Not only all the accounts that the agency collects (whom all but a handful are companies bankrupted long ago, like Martinsons coffee, the Dumont network, and stuff like that) but in the way people treated each other, how men treated women. Also, how you could slap some strangers kid in public and it was okay because the kid was being a douchebag, or how you went on a picnic and left your trash piled up and drove away. It’s a window to a different time in the world that some people view as a better time.

Do fat bitches make you rage? -tombstonedave

Only when they are upset at people for finding them unattractive and they get all high and mighty about how everyone is beautiful on the inside or some garbage. Hey fat people, you are not entitled to other peoples infatuation because Oprah or any equally powerful fat/ugly person says you are pretty when they’ve never met you. Additionally, some people think Melissa Joan Hart is unattractive, and she’s not fat, so it might just be the way you look, not just your fatness. Thanks.

Ever since Cait announced the return of the red cup last week, I’ve been thinking about making my way to Starbucks. So, I solved that by walking over to the mall this afternoon, and look what I saw…

I guess that Santa has limited hours since he’s by appointment only… ha!

Next up was Starbucks…

First nonfat peppermint mocha of the season!

Shh- don’t tell my mom that this was my lunch! Oh wait, she reads my blog…

After work, I went to the gym and did 50 minutes on the Precor AMT.

While I was working out, I watched Dr. Oz. I love, love, love Dr. Oz and the fact that I learn something new every time I watch. Do you ever watch his show?

Today, he had a segment on a “meat lovin’ cowboy” named Rocco. Rocco is 53 years old, eats a ton of meat and no vegetables, and was going down a path to poor health.

Dr. Oz told him that he had the heart of an 85 year old, diabetes, and plaque covering his arteries. Rocco agreed to follow Dr. Oz’s 28 day vegan challenge, and today he was back to reveal his results.

After 28 days:

his waist is 6″ smaller

his glucose (blood sugar) went from 172 (dangerously high) to 99 (normal)

hemoglobin went down; cholesterol is better

lost 30 pounds

Aren’t his results amazing?! I don’t think that a vegan diet is right for me, but I think it’s wonderful how well it’s working for Rocco. I just love it when people take charge of their health.

Anyway, I just made some stuffed shells and brussel sprouts for dinner…

WELL VERSE DIS-STRESS

Understanding the spine is the key to understanding why doctors of chiropractic do what they do and why they obtain extraordinary results with a variety of different conditions. The spine is a complex structure containing a number of associated muscles, ligaments, joints, and nerves which commonly become irritated and injured. Extended sitting, repetitive motions, bad postural habits, mental stress, lack of exercise and inadequate nutritional intake are just some of the everyday stresses which accumulate to produce devastasting effects of the spinal components. However, you won’t just feel the effects of these ailments in your spine. Many other symptoms actually trace back to your spine such as knee pain, hip pain, headaches, foot and ankle pain as well as many others. As doctors of chiropractic we have been trained to provide safe, fast and effective relief for most spinal problems. This spinal-organ illustration to the left shows how our nerves communicate with our organs at each spinal segment.

ARE YOUR PERSCRIPTION DRUGS DEPLETING PRECIOUS VITAL NUTRIENTS Coenzyme Q10 is famous for its role i

ARE YOUR PERSCRIPTION DRUGS DEPLETING PRECIOUS VITAL NUTRIENTS

Coenzyme Q10 is famous for its role in the mitochondria and energy production. But minerals and vitamins are necessary for energy production as well, especially magnesium which is deficient in most Americans and is a major influence on heart function. Think about it. We give statins to reduce cholesterol, and we deplete the nutrients that are needed for healthy muscle function, HMMMM…heart “muscle” function. Another group of nutrient depletions are caused by diuretics. It makes sense that diuretics as a group will deplete minerals like magnesium, potassium, and calcium as forced increased urination is the goal of the drug.

However, another one of the nutrients lost with diuretics is B1, and B1 is essential for healthy sugar metabolism. Many people are not aware that B1 is a huge deficiency and should be supplemented with anyone who is taking diuretics. Let’s look at another class of drugs. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories used for pain and inflammation can cause stomach bleeding. In act over 16,000 people die every year from nonsteroidal anti inflammatory use. Several gastroenterologists are aware of this phenomenon and routinely use a product by Biotics called Gastrazyme to heal the gut as long as patients are use nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories for pain. Oral contraceptives are another class of drugs that deplete nutrients. It is very common for families to take oral contraceptives and plan a pregnancy only to find they can’t conceive. I often wonder if it is the lack of depleted nutrients that causes the systemic or metabolic inflammatory problems that prevent conception. The deficiencies are beta-carotene, B1, B2, B3, B6, B12, folic acid, biotin, B5, vitamin C magnesium, zinc, tryptophan, and tyrosine. SSRIs, a type of antidepressant medication, deplete the B vitamins – B6, B12, and folic acid. They also deplete vitamin D and sodium. Even if they don’t deplete EFAs directly, we know that anyone who is depressed can benefit as EFAs’ have been shown to reduce inflammation. Anti-diabetic medication will also reduce coenzyme Q10, folic acid, and B12.

Antibiotics will obviously call for a need for flora replacement, but do your patients know that antibiotic use will cause depletions in biotin, inositol, B1, B2, B3, B6, B12, and vitamin K? These and many more drugs are used commonly and cause nutrient depletions. Almost all your patients are on one drug or another. This is an example of why every patient should be examined for factors that cause nutrient deficiencies. You need to be the one to alert them that there are dangers and that if they decide to take pharmaceuticals, especially long term, they should at least compensate by taking the nutrients that will be depleted by these drugs. Obviously, that is one of the reasons why I feel it is almost malpractice when a clinician fails to recommend a quality multi-vitamin mineral, balanced essential fatty acids, and an active probiotic. A great resource is a book by Dr.’s James LaValle an Ross Pelton, both nutritionally based pharmacists, called “The Nutritional Cost of Drugs.” Let me encourage you as you redefine your role providing health care in challenging economic times, “offer your patients a greater range of services” and believe me, evaluating their nutrient depletions that are caused by drug use is a great example. -BIOTICS RESEARCH CORPORACTION
