This is called a letter- shopping? Machine where it helps you slot letters into envolopes. Sounds good? NO!!! HELL NO!! I used it for 2 hours and I spend half the time trying to unjam it… It jams everywhere!!! Anyway I managed to successfully jam it till they had to call a repair man to fix it. The next day Arron managed to jam it till our supervisor was to scared for us to use it!! HAHA…. Seriously…. Some things should be done by humans..

And there was me thinking ‘oh dear, I have a blog, but as I spend so much time doing work, I have nothing to talk about apart from work, which I suppose is fair enough as this is technically a Graphic Design blog.’

But today I have found my muse. I have found inspiration. The words are coming to me like the hordes of hell in an onsalught of fury that I canm no longer hold in. The reason? Hollywood movies.

Stephen Spielberg is remaking Ghost in the Shell, according to this credible looking source:

And, yes, I also saw that they are remaking Akira, setting it in ‘New Manhattan’ and getting Leonardo DiCaprio to star in it. Disgusting.

Ghost in the Shell and Akira are two things I love. And the owners of these stories have just sold the rights, probably for a ridiculous amount of money and put them in the hands of Stephen Bloody Spielberg.

Imagine, if you will, having a beautiful girlfriend, who gets pimped out by her father and watching her go as she is sent off into the waiting arms of some old greasy millionaire who looks at the world in nothng but investment terms. Terrible analogy? Perhaps. The point is, I’m heartbroken and very very disappointed.

Why do I distrust Spielberg? I mean, sure, he did make Indiana Jones, but more recently, and frankly more significantly, he was responsible for the production of Transformers the Movie, probably the most dispicable misrepresentation of a story I’ve ever seen.

The original Transformers movie is officially my favourite movie of all time. Here’s why:

When I heard there was going to be a live action movie I was very pleased. I thought ‘yes, properly high quality sfx used to make giant transforming robots punch each other in the face’. I thought the story may not quite be perfect, but that in itself was enough to make me think the movie would be worth watching.

But no. Instead an awesome story of the battle between good and evil, intergalactic travel, planet eating robots, revenge, resilience, adventure and robots punching each other in the face gets mutated into an all Amercan eBay advert and pointless high school love story.

Here are a few things I hate about Spielberg’s Transformers movie:

1. Thinly veiled state propaganda: At the start of the film a US military base is being attacked, someone asks who could be doing this a big list comes out – China, Iran, Iraq – essentially reminding a viewer of the film – someone who’s just wanting to sit and eat popcorn and watch giant robots punch each other in the face- who their enemies are.

2. Don’t worry that doesn’t ruin the film. That’s the start, then it takes ages for the film to start. I mean ages. Speilberg’s influence is clear as he tries to tantalise the viewer with little glimpses of the robots but it was just unsatisfactory. Within the first ten minutes of the original movie half the main characters were dead or dying. Now that’s a bold introduction.

3. That wee guy. I hate him. I really hate him. [annoying american accent] ‘my mom’ll freak if she sees you out here!’ The guy makes me want to puke, and the fact that the autobots took such an interest in his love life was ridiculous.

4. The decepticons find the guy through his ebay account, and then all throughout the film it’s ‘ebay this, ebay that’. I use ebay occassionally, once again, I went to be sold toys, not websites.

5. And that stupid cube. Why? In the original they had ‘the matrix’, this glowing piece of ultra high technology that does all kinds of crazy things. You can cram your cube up your

These are just some of the things I hated about the Transformers movie. The point is that it was terrible. And they’re gonna do that to Ghost in the Shell.

They’re going to put this

in the hands of Spielberg. Don’t they see? They already took the story of Ghost in the Shell and warped it almost beyond recognition. It was called ‘The Matrix’.

So Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Transformers, that would be all my favourite animations, except Dragonball Z. At least that’s not going to be made into a stupid American High School movie.

Surely this is just a remake of the Karate Kid:

No, it’s not a remake of the karate kid. It’s Dragonball Z seemingly crossed with the Karate Kid. Two mighty things in their own right, like a polar bear and a tarantula, but a hybrid is always going to be an absolute mess of a creature.

Not that I think that Hollywood has no good ideas. Hollywood does occasionally come up with the odd very cool movie. But their track record for redoing ideas they did not come up with themselves is very poor and makes me unhappy.

Because I know that there is no way I am going to miss any of these movies. I just love computer generated explosions too much and I am going to be outraged and frustrated soooo much when I see them. Alas.

Asian people like some really crazy things. I have several Asian friends and when they’re not trying to make me drink milkshakes with slime balls in them, they’re trying to make me watch Dragonball Z. I have no clue what was so great about this show that they had to make a shitty looking movie out of it but obviously there are some people out there that are excited for this. Those people are stupid.

Many of you know the adaptation are doing that 20th Century Fox Studios to the biggest serie of anime that a few years ago is conclude globally, I am talking about Dragon Ball. If I am like or not, is not the important point is that it has lifted many comments for and against, and here I could not fail to treat them.

If you are a follower of the seventh art, you will have noticed that the latest movies that have brought in the United States is a remake of one he had in asia, that while Asian cinema is exceptional, it is regrettable that until now, had no remake Approaching the quality that we offer the original movies, that what we saw with the ring, the grudge, Dark Water, the eye and others that do not remember now. If this was just so far that we can expect from this that soon – on April 8 of 2009 – will be on board. It’s not my wish to be pessimistic and I therefore hope that this will be a change in this paradigm is being implemented. However, I must say that as a start I do not agree with anyone who participates in the cast film, which is a negative point, hopefully in their work as players are claimed.

Now I find out the departure of the international trailer, but I think it is not official. In my first impression, maybe keep the line in the series, being so faithful to the original story, however good the effects though, left much to be desired from the acclaimed kamahameha of Goku. Hopefully the official trailer gives us more information, but I doubt very much that the stop watch.

Also I find that this will be a trilogy, which shows the value of them has to have the rights to this series, making the biggest party. Well, if they were interested in the trailer the great entertainment site IGN, we give away 4 possible posters for what will be the hype of the movie.

Niektóre filmy rodzą się złe, by straszyć nas później latami. Wszystko wskazuje na to, że rok 2009 zwiastuje chwilę nadejścia antychrysta. A imię jego jest “Dragonball Evolution“. Diabeł rodzi się w Stanach Zjednoczonych i mam uzasadnione powody twierdzić, że przetoczy się po całej kuli ziemskiej i zbierze w kinach potworne żniwo. Trudno powiedzieć, w jakim stopniu widz będzie przeżywał w kinie katusze. Nadal trzymam mocno kciuki, by film okazał się na tyle zły, że aż dobry – dający więcej zabawy, niż wysokobudżetowy blockbuster. Zapraszam do obejrzenia pierwszego trailera, który daje nam kolejne fakty na temat zbliżającego się dnia sądu. Biada ci, o Syjonie!

Na temat filmu “Dragonball” pisałem już przy innej okazji. Od tamtego czasu okazało się, że autorzy zdecydowali się na dodanie do filmu podtytułu “Evolution” (co zapewne daje im większe pole manewru w bezczeszczeniu fabuły oryginalnej mangi). Obejrzyjcie trailer. Jak widać, Picollo poddany został operacji regresywnej pigmentacji skóry połączonej z kuracją zastrzykami z chlorofilem, w rezultacie czego zieleni się teraz, jak dorodny eukaliptus.

Nowy trailer filmu “Dragonball Evolution”

Jeśli faktycznie mieliście styczność z anime, to doskonale wiecie, jak mało sensu ma cała przedstawiona w nim historia. Współczuje jednak wszystkim tym, którzy nie mieli wcześniej z rysowaną przez Akirę Toriyamę serią nic wspólnego, bo zorientowanie się o co w tym wszystkim chodzi musi naprawdę boleć. Nie chcę być złym prorokiem, ale ten film moim zdaniem nie powinien nigdy powstać.

Dla porównania obejrzyjcie poniżej trailer do filmu Super Mario Bros. Być może nie była to produkcja braci Cohen i nie zalatywała tarantinowiszczyzną, ale przynajmniej miała w sobie tą odrobinę funku, by się móc spodobać nie tylko fanom hydrauliki, ale i zwykłym widzom, mającym ochote na niewymagające kino popcornowe.

Super Mario Bros może nie zasługiwało na Oscara, ale miało w sobie tą odrobinę funku!

I’m getting sick of switching between “Dragon Ball” and “Dragonball,” damn it! Well well, I’ll just keep confusing you.

The Hollywood Dragonball movie, Dragonball: Evolution (working name, may differ when released), has now a set release date of 3.13, the thirteenth of March next year, and a new trailer which have actually gotten my hopes up a little bit – but only because of the attack at the end of it. Mostly, anyway. No matter if this seems interesting or not when it comes out will probably make no difference in my case, though, I will watch this movie anyway; I just hope it isn’t all awful crap. But I’ve gotta stick with my theory that a non-Japanese person playing a Japanese person (actually a person from another planet) does not look real. Bulma looks cool, though! The new Lara Croft, anyone? Anyway, watch the trailer, make up your mind and wait for 3.13, either to watch it or complain that this horrible phenomenon has actually occured.
