Hitting you with a spam masubi of good music today folks! This track is a great collabo from Drizzle and Colin Munroe (MunWHO?) MunROE, the man that did his own rendition of Kanye’s Flashing Lights! I’m glad artists like Cudi and Drake are working with artists outside of the box and experimenting with new sounds. Colin and Drake kill it on this futuristic mellow tip, matter a fact, the track reminds me of Jamie Foxx’s Digital Girl track (which is not a bad thing).

I’m probably real late on this, but I just saw the video last night for Timbaland ft. Drake – Say Something.  Dope track.  Cop it.

Derek Miller, some dude from Poison The Well, was working at a restaurant when Alexis Krauss, a fifth grade teacher/former pop artist came in for a bite. They started talking, the conversation lead to music, and the rest is history. Or the future, actually. They recorded some music in his apartment, and some of it hit the music blogs earlier this year. I missed the little buzz they were getting until Kevin Rose linked to a YouTube video of Crown on the Ground on his twitter.

I’m not entirely sure how to describe them. Noisy lofi garage pop? Dancy Electro hiphop? Whatever, the beats are killer, the girls a doll, and I love it. I’ve read they plan to start recording an album next summer; you know, since Alexis needs to grade homework with most of her nights right now. Could it be the wine? Could it be the fact that I haven’t felt his soft skin against mine in over a week? Could it be the fact that the last time I felt his cock, he was complaining about something I’d rather not mention? Or is it that I simply don’t feel as sexy as I do with him?

Irony is playing a pretty dirty trick on me. That I would have the drive, desire (or lack thereof), restraint or sheer lack of interest in even thinking about touching someone else after I become involved with someone who cannot be satisfied by one person; someone exactly like me. Another unreleased Drake track yet no word on when “Thank Me Later” is set to be released.

“It’s Been A Pleasure” is rumored to be produced by Boi-1da, and sounds like if this IS an addition to “Thank Me Later” clearly it would be the last track…the production has that “goodbye” feel, if that makes any sense.

Yo, I just hit Drake’s blog, October’s Very Own, and died at this video he’d posted. This comedy group, Candy Slice Comedy, shot an audition tape for NBC’s acapella competition show, “The Sing-Off” singing Birdman’s “Money To Blow”. I swear, I’d put this on my iPod before I’d put the original on it; they had me dyin’. Check it out down bottom.

Tab is a stage name (or what I assume to be  a stage name) for the brilliant artist Andrew Bulloch. His unique blend of experimental, rap and slightly ambient music creates an almost perfect sound that is both relaxing and lyrically powerful. His creative, moody, and sometimes dark lyrics mixed alongside the electronic soundtrack created by Anitek, his collaborative partner, will have you scratching your head while jamming peacefully for hours at a time. 2. S.U.N (Scientific Universal Noncommercial)

I discovered S.U.N a few weeks ago, and almost immediately knew that he would be an artist worthy of this list. S.U.N is a hip hop artist also set against unique beats and computer generated sounds (in a good way, no T-pain). The song I can’t get enough of-  ‘The Recipe’ from his latest album entitled “The One”. He also has 5 other albums in which he has collaborated with many other talented rappers including Bizarre- who you might recognize from my favorite rap group, D-12. 3. Grüün

Now hear me out before you ignore this amazing rap duo because you can’t understand what their saying- that’s right, your ears are still working but these two artist are rapping in Russian. But it’s not just rap, this is truly some of the most enjoyable and creative music I’ve heard in a while. A very trippy, mostly electric, and mind transporting music experience that is not for the faint of heart. I can’t understand what their saying, but with a soundtrack like this it really doesn’t matter- the music will speak for itself. The album I’m listening to now, is their newest one, also something I can’t pronounced called “Krauthop”.  My favorite track from their new Album- “Früühlingsregen” if you have 6 minutes to spare it will be worth your time to listen. 4. Drake

Now I know mostly everyone by now has heard of Drake, from his nonstop radio singles such as “Best I Ever Had” or “Successful”, but I couldn’t help but put him on this list as one of those artist you just have to listen too. Drake has so much talent and he hasn’t even made an album yet! His mix tape this year has gotten so many nominations and so much attention that its worth putting him on this list. I’m a big fan of Drake and while his lyrics may not be groundbreaking as much as they are typical ‘hip-hop’ lyrics about materialism, his talent is undeniable. The only downfall I see Drake having anytime soon is the ridiculous amount of airplay his singles get- killing some great songs over time by terribly overplaying them, but hey, talent is talent. http://www.myspace.com/thisisdrake

5. B.o.B aka Bobby Ray

I had my doubts when I saw this artist was from Atlanta, Georgia before hearing his music. Don’t get me wrong, I love the ATL and I have a lot of respect for southern rappers, in fact some of my favorite artist come out of this culture, however I was looking for something different and I wasn’t sure the stereotypical Southern style rapper would do it- but little did I know Bobby Ray is not the typical southern style rapper. His music can only be described as ‘refreshing’ nice, uplifting lyrics and an overall happy beat with a very pleasant but thick Southern accent. He also has some very nice collaborations with other great artist such as T.I. and the up and coming Asher Roth. My favorite songs from his album B.o.B Vs. Bobby Ray- ‘I Feed These Streets’, ‘Generation Lost’, ‘I’ll Be In The Sky’, ‘Satellite’…..okay, okay I confess, I like all of the songs. When I saw this clip I thought it was dope and a perfect way to pay real homage to one’s home city by putting on other local talent.  Here Drake confirms he has a song prepared to feature Jay-Z and it is produced by Tone Masons.

Big Sean hailing from Detroit, Michigan is the next big thing to hit the industry this spring. In 2005, he signed to Kayne West’s GOOD music label after freestyling and giving him a demo tape. His first CD will be released early in 2010 and its going to feature several big names in hip-hop including Pharrell, Mr. Hudson, the Dream, Drake, Wale, and Mr. West himself. Big Sean’s flow is very similar to Kayne’s early material with a similar Midwestern inflection and solid metaphors. It also is dotted by amusing lyrical jabs reminiscent of his battle rap days on Detroit radio.

UKNOWBIGSEAN is his second tape released last year His first single was “Getcha Some” and now has a music video to accompany it. However, this song’s weak subject matter of clothes pales in comparison to many more unique tracks. “Million Dollars” is a stronger track from the tape, which hints at his ability to sing. “Say You Will” features a serious exploration of self over a somber beat. Yet, the raw honesty comes across as powerful and deep instead of fake. Finally, “Supa Dupa” highlights his ability to switch up his flow in an almost haiku or limerick style.
Unfortunately, some of Big Sean’s best material still exists accompanying on other artists’ songs like Mike Posner’s “Smoke and Drive” or XV’s “Life vs. Livin.” Hopefully, this spring will mark an end to being merely a feature.

Overall: 8/10 Definitely worth a listen. A name to be familiar with going into 2010.

Mary J. Blige hits us with her New Album “Stronger with Each tear”. The last iHeard from Mary J. Was her last album “Growing Pains” which took me a while to like. I didn’t like Growing Pains at first, but iGave it a second listen and realised that Mary J. Blige is an Serious artist. Forgive me Mary J. Blige fans.

Mary J. hits us with her 9th Studio album! Wow she’s come a-long way. I was thinking… is it time for her to give it a break??

At first Mary J. Blige opened up her album with a track called “Tonight” which is a bit weak, which Bored me, which made me think – Maybe Mary J Blige should give it a rest. Which was wrong of me because I’ve heard her singles “The One (feat. Drake)” and “I Am” and iLike the both of those tracks. So iShould have had faith.

Cutting long story short. This album is good! iLike tracks like “Good Love (feat. T.I.) Now iMust say Mary J loves her some T.I. she’s been on alot of his tracks and his been on this one as well… Ummm hmmmm! and Songs like “Said and Done”. I really love how Trey Songz tears up “Hood Love” that is a GOOD Track! But a Track that really WOWED me was “Kitchen” Mary is preaching in this track!

2009 was actually a great year for music. So here are the top albums and mixtapes of 2009. Not in any particular order.

Starting off with what I think is the most groundbreaking mixtape ever So Far Gone by Drake. first mixtape to generate Grammy nominations. Enough said.

The Blueprint 3, people like to hate on Jay-Z cause of his age and the fact that people call him the best but theres no denying the music #OnToTheNextOne…

Lupe Fiasco Enemy of The State: A Love Story. Great anticipation for Lasers Love Vs. Money The-Dream I think is one of the most underrated albums of the year.

In order to build buzz, Lil Wayne hit the mixtape scene after Tha Carter II. His move was questioned by so-called experts. Wayne had already hit the mainstream and it was viewed as dumb to go back to the mixtape level. But, on these mixtapes, Lil Wayne showed his growth as a rapper and soon other artists wanted a verse from Lil Wayne.

The mixtape buzz that Lil Wayne built resulted in Tha Carter III and the domination that he has had over the rap game since that time. Drake also decided to hone his skills on the mixtape level. He had hoped to be signed by a major label in 2007, but labels passed on him due to his roots as a star on the teenage soap opera, “Degrassi.”

Because of this, Drake hit the mixtape scene with a vengeance. Leading into 2009, he created arguably the best mixtape of all-time. The quality of So Far Gone was almost as good as an album. Many people, including these hip hop experts thought that the mixtape was an album, prompting Drake to brag about that on “Forever.” It was this mixtape that got him signed to Young Money.

Taking a page out of Lil Wayne’s playbook, Fabolous plans to take some time off of the mainstream scene to hit the grind. He hopes that he can improve his lyricism while on the mixtape level and build a similar buzz to that of Lil Wayne before he returns. Fabolous also wants to create mixtapes that are on the same level of quality as a studio album.

Fabolous wants to spend the next few months creating mixtapes before returning the next year with his sixth studio album, Loso’s Way 2.
