Hotel Transylvania was produced by Sony Pictures Animation and was released in 2012.

The story follows Dracula (Adam Sandler) as he’s become a recluse in order to protect his daughter Mavis (Selena Gomez) from humans because his wife happened to be killed by humans some 118 years earlier. So Dracula created a monster haven, a hotel for monsters to come and relax without human interference. There are other fantastical creatures such as the Werewolf family, the Franki family, The invisible man, and the mummy.

So, I admit I thought this movie was produced by Disney, but then I looked it up. And so, now it makes sense the lack of moral lessons in this movie.

So, I liked the movie. I really did. But overall, it felt so superficial…I guess I’m too used to the Disney movies with a beautiful message hidden within….yes I’m looking at you Wall-E…

it was funny, yes, but from the trailers clips, I thought it was going to be more funny.

Overall, it’s a cute movie to pass the time, but it doesn’t leave any lingering effects.

So, I finally did it I watched Hellsing the anime. It is 13 episodes long and it is licensed by Funimation, so you can watch it on Youtube.

So, yeah after watching the first episode I was like, they added so much filler and changed so much from the manga, and then I read on the comments that it was a stand alone anime. Yes, the characters were similar, but the storylines were independent of the manga. I said, oh.

From then on, I could enjoy the anime better.

The first thing I gotta say is, I loved the OST…from the Opening theme: Logos Naki World to the Ed: Shine…everything was perfect.

In addition, since I had previously read the manga, I saw some plot points that were similar enough, such as Seras Victoria’s turning, and the awesome fight with Father Anderson. But so much was different, Integral Hellsing was still a cool character….and I loved Alucard, specially when he was playing with his prey…but then, I saw the complete submissiveness of Walter and I was like, why?

The anime, in itself, storywise was ok. I mean, there were some plot points that I still don’t see the point to them, such as that female vamp attacking Integral…I mean, yes it was to piss off Alucard, but why? And then, who created Incognito…the whole series ended in a cliffhanger with so many questions unanswered…and I doubt there will be another season to clarify, since they made Ultimate and all (the anime version that does follow the manga!)…also, I admit, it unnerved me that they kept calling Alucard as A-kard….seriously!!

So, overall it’s a good series, from the music, to the quality and the content itself isn’t so bad…except there are some racy scenes…best to watch away from children.

TVD began airing in 2009. It is based on the series by L.J. Smith.

The show follows Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) as she uncovers a world of vampire and struggles to survive in it.

So, the show mostly consists of vampires, mainly Damon (Somerhalder) and Stefan (Westley) and their constant pining and fighting over Elena. There are werewolves too, but because of certain issues, they’ve mostly gone extinct.

Additionally, there is one young resident witch, Bonnie Bennett (Kat Graham), who just happens to be one of Elena’s best friends…supposedly.

So, as you can tell probably I don’t particularly love TVD anymore. And you’re asking why I’m doing a review on it…the reason is I did love the show for the first two seasons and a half…I mean, the story was interesting enough, Damon was hot, I loved hating on Damon….Bonnie is my fave character….but then Grams died, Bonnie kept being used only as a plot device, she had no character development at all…and then they did the one thing that made me completely hate this show for a long, long while: they gave Bonnie a mother and then they killed her. And that was the last straw…for about a year.

I really couldn’t take the bull Bonnie the character had to go through…so I quit watching…plus the “love” triangle got on my nerves.

Later, I heard some interesting news: Bonnie had a dad and a house!! I was  le shock!!! So, I began rewatching….and now Bonnie’s insane and overdue for death, permanent death!!

I can’t stand to watch her go down like Alaric (yeah, I heard about that) so I won’t watch anymore. BTW, I really don’t understand why everybody likes Elena so much, as a human all she did was cry and get kidnapped/used as leverage…as a vampire, all she does is cry and be Damon’s “love”…but Bonnie who is always saving everyone’s a$$ gets pushed aside because she’s too judgemental…OMG…REALLY?

oh, I’m ranting now…sorry…but yeah…one piece of advice: stop killing all the characters!!!

If you like it, good for you, if you don’t, good for you!! I’m just stating why I stopped liking it.

So, I watched the movie and I gotta say I loved.

The play on words, Sherlock Holmes’ logic and way of seeing the world, the comedy parts of the movie and the intellectual parts were beautiful.

I personally enjoyed when Holmes dressed as a woman, when he’s pumped up on adrenaline (from a goat’s bladder, I think). I also loved that Watson was there as his friend, confidante, and overall support.

Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law are great in this. So, I liked the story line, the slow motion cameras, the quirkyness that is Holmes…the only issue I had was why did Irene Adler have to die? And how in the world did Mortiarty make the people in the restaurant leave? Hypnosis? Threats? What? They never explained that.

In addition, I absolutely loved the soundtrack.  The soundtrack is by Hans Zimmer.

There are of course, several of the tracks that are my favorite.

Full-Throttle Girl is an 11  episode, 2011 Japanese Drama.

It follows Wakaba Aikawa (Yui Aragaki) and her struggle to achieve her dream of becoming a well-off international lawyer with an equally well-off husband. As she begins her job at a law firm, she unexpectedly also becomes the  sitter of her boss’ 5 year old daughter, Sakurakawa Hinata (Kanon Tani). She often runs into Sota Yamada (Nishikido Ryo) and his son Emitaro Yamada (Takagi Serai).

So, I’ve only watched four episodes, but because it’s so much fun I really recommend you to watch this series.

The kids’ acting will make you melt and laugh and just really want to hug and/or squish them and the main characters’ acting is really believable.

I gotta be honest, I was not planning at all on watching this…specially after the grand dream sequences from Wakaba…but I found myself not wanting to change the channel and I was hooked.

I especially like how tsundere-like Wakaba is and the reasons why she tries so hard to protect herself…I love how she encourages Sota and tries to push him to become better, but denies it when thanked for it.

Resident Evil

So, the story follows Alice an agent of the Umbrella corporation who loses her memory after the safehouse she’s guarding goes into code red…so with a team of professionals they head underground to see what happened…that is where the nightmare begins…it turns out the T-virus  has been unleashed and everyone who is still alive is infected with it and turns into a human-meat-craving zombie…

Eventually, the virus spreads above ground and even to the whole world….and so humans have got to learn how to survive or turn into those zombies.

So, I didn’t love the first movie as much mostly because it was so darn bloody and gory…maybe because they were all humans but when they were in the laser room and they got chopped into bits…not attractive at all….But I do love that again a female lead, Alice (Milla Jovovich), can kick arse!!!

The subsequent films deal with the progression of the virus around the world and the desperate fight to survive…I love that there are more arse kicking fighters…though I completely hate that the majority of them die …R.I.P. Carlos Olivera (Oded Fehr)….

BTW, I have not seen the latest movie though I want to really badly…

underworld

The reason why I love these movies is because I love vampires and I love action movies and this has both…plus I tolerate werewolves….as a bonus there are gun fights and sword fights and gun/sword fights….tsugoi!!!

So, I liked the first movie, which created the setting for the 3 next films: a world in which lycans (werewolves) and vampires are living and fighting a secret war…secret from the oblivious humans….

In the first film, we find out that the werewolves, in order to gain the upper hand in this war, have tried to find a direct descendant from the first werewolf…who just happened to also be a vampire…thus, they are trying to create a hybrid…thing is, it’s not so easy…most descendants reject either the vampire ‘virus’ or the werewolf ‘virus’…both cannot coexist…anyways, long story short Michael Corvin (Scott Speedman) becomes said hybrid…and runs from the tyrannical vampire clan because a vampire Selene (Kate Beckinsale) helped make the hybrid.

In the second one, we learn more about the evolution of the werewolves-from savage beasts to shapeshifting weres…

The third one, we learn about the reason why there war between vamps and were broke out…and in the last one…the storyline follows what happens when humans find out about these supernatural existences…

Overall, all films are good…we see how they are interconnecting and adding to the film lore about both races…but I gotta say the latest film Awakening was not as great to me as I had hoped…I mean, vamps and weres got their butts kicked by humans…that’s just wrong!!!

I still love how the female vamp is the lead though!!

Castle began airing on ABC in 2009 and to this day, continues on in its fifth season.
Castle focuses on Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion), a best-seller author…with writer’s block…so he uses his friendship with the major to immerse himself into the daily work life of a real NYPD detective aka Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) to use her inspiration for his next book.
So for the past four years, we have seen their interactions, their attraction to each other and the way they just complement each other when solving crimes…and they just keep going.
So, Castle for me is one of those shows that manages to follow the popular trend of a cop show but with such a nice comedic twist that it balances the seriousness of a murder cop’s point of view….and yes, the possibility of romance is always a bonus.

I love Castle’s flirtyness with Beckett and just support he gives to her. But there is also an amazing cast apart from these two amazing actors…ranging from Castle’s mother Martha (Susan Sullivan) and daughter Alexis (Molly C. Quinn)  to Ryan (Seamus Dever) and Esposito (Jon Huertas)-both part of Beckett’s team…and of course, Captain Montgomery (Ruben Santiago-Hudson) and Captain Gates(Penny Johnson).

Also, the focus of the show is not on the crimes themselves per se but more so on the investigation portion of the case…with a little bit of Castle flourish thrown in there.

I hope you liked my review and become curious enough to watch some Castle.

Angel began airing on The CW in 1999 and ran for 5 seasons.

Angel revolves around Angel (David Boreanaz) a vampire with a soul and his never-ending struggle to quelch his demonic nature while continuing with his penance of saving innocent lives that get caught up with his kind and other supernatural forces. Of course, to help him are Cordelia Chase (Charisma Carpenter), Wes (Alexis Denisof) and Gunn (J. August Richards)…all with their own area of expertise.

The theme song, ‘Sanctuary’, is beautiful, haunting and performed by Darling Violetta. It is an instrumental piece.

There were so many storylines that were awesome….like the one about the possibility to turn the vamp with a soul into a human and baby Connor….the only thing I hated about this show was that they killed off Cordy!!! Noooo she was my fave character…but oh well.

I also loved that Angel was darker than Buffy and overall, for me was better.

Charmed was began airing on the WB in 1998 and it ended in 2006, after 8 seasons.
Charmed follows the lives of three young witches and their never-ending battle against evil and avoiding discovery. Prue(Shannen Doherty), Piper(Holly Marie Combs) and Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) Halliwell (and later on Paige(Rose McGowan)) must use their unique magical powers in order to stop evil from taking over the world.
Apart from fighting evil on a daily basis, these three witch sisters must also balance their normal lives that include going to work and interacting with normal people.
Charmed may have been the first witch show that wasn’t as negative, image-wise about witches as anything else I had watched before then…also it may have been the first witch show I had ever seen.
I really liked charmed for so many reasons…one of them being that it was the first all-female lead cast that was somewhat cool and relatable…yes I know there was Buffy, but somewhere along that line…it became too sexy(?) for me so I didn’t enjoy it as much…also Charmed had a certain charm to it…haha…it was funny, it had action and it wasn’t as violently crude as Buffy or other tv shows.
Phoebe was my favorite character…until Paige came along…I really liked that the show didn’t just focus on witches and warlocks and demons as the main protagonists…but also incorporated other mystical figures such as fairies and giants and mermaids among others.

I love the opening…

Roswell began airing in the CW (as is known today) or the WB as it was known back in 1999. It ended with three seasons and lots of unresolved issues.
Roswell, as you may imagine, is based on the incident occurred in Roswell, New Mexico in 1945 when a UFO (Unidentified Foreign Object) crashed in a corn field on the outskirts of town.
Roswell follows the lives of 3 teens that slowly begin to unravel the mystery to their existence: they came from another planet to Earth to escape a mutiny of sorts in their own planet.
Isabel Evans(Katherine Heigl) and Max Evans(Jason Behr) are siblings living a relatively normal life, until one day, the girl Max loves Liz Parker (Shiri Appleby) is shot and almost dies…thus, Max reveals his healing ability…endangering not only himself, but also his sister and their best friend Michael Guerin (Brennan Fehr)…now with the sheriff’s attention on them, will they be able to keep their secret, secret?
So, I loved Roswell…I even have the three seasons…I mean, come on, it was a show about aliens…back then there weren’t that many…television was more focused on witches and vamps…so it was refreshing.
It had relatable characters, an interesting storyline, and good special effects…to this day, I don’t get why it got cancelled after only 3 seasons.

And I also love the Opening Theme…which was Here with me by DIDO.

For the people who haven’t watched any seasons…here are some somewhat major hints of a Spoiler Alert…
Of course, there were some not so great things about it too. For one, there were a lot of sex scenes…or at least very steamy…when I watched it on DVD I was like what? Did I actually see all these sexiness when I was  13? OMG scandalous (what you do to me Kevin?)
Also, what’s up with killing off or making them disappear all of Izzy’s love interests? I mean, and then her husband is left behind…why does she have to be alone when Max and Michael  have their girlfriends with them…no fair.
And then, of course, there are all the unanswered questions left at the end of the show:
Why leave the baby behind? How can you leave the baby behind? Will Kyle (Nick Wechsler) get powers too? What happened to their counterparts? What happened to the other aliens? Will the government chase them down still?
See? Lots of questions.

The show follows the adventures of Sam(Jared Padalecki) and Dean(Jensen Ackles) Winchester, as they battle demons, angels, and every other kind of creepy crawly intent on eating the completely ignorant human race.

There have been 7 seasons of Supernatural, and I must say I love Supernatural, so I can’t wait until the season premiere on October 3.
So, for those new to Supernatural…here are some Vague Major Spoilers…
So, the first 2 seasons focused on what a Hunter’s job is: basically, killing, exorcising, and just surviving against demons, ghosts, and any other type of supernatural creature known to human kind i.e. Wendigos, the lady in white, etc. I loved the first couple of seasons most of all, because the writers/producers/etc. decided to show a large variety of supernatural creatures not just the everyday kind (ghosts, vamps, weres) and we got to learn something new about very common mystical creatures around the world. And we got to learn about Daddy Winchester.
The third to fifth (?) seasons focused on the inevitable Judgement Day…when Lucifer gets out of Hell Jail to play on Earth and how Dean and Sam were the chosen bros to play the tragedy of Cain and Abel…the only thing I didn’t particularly like about these seasons was how screwy my perception of angels got thanks to the civil war of angels and Cass’ betrayal.
The last season…where the monsters from purgatory got out was unexpected, interesting and downright awesome…but I somehow felt that the storylines were too focused on religious things…and I found myself wishing to go back to the earlier days where it was just kill the monsters and save a couple of lives…not kill the monsters or else humanity is damned…not that I’m saying it’s bad but the plots just keeps on thickening…not sure if I can swallow it for much longer…
So, some good points:
Lots of action (like seriously, lots of blood to go with that action too), Dean’s general conversational topics (Sam has mentioned anime a couple of times XD), Sam’s and Dean’s interactions, Cass…
I just wish though, that there were more female Hunters !!! What think women can’t handle it? Joe died…and since her we have not had an awesome female Hunter…also Bobby died…why? Why?…really wish their family would stop decreasing so badly.
Anyways, I hope you found this review fun(?) interesting(?) helpful(?) all of the above…and that you become a fan too, if you’re not already.

The live-action stars Ono Ito as Nagashima Haruna and Mizobata Junpei as Komiyama Yoh. Ok, so the story is a shoujo-style story…meaning that it follows Haruna’s point of view.

The story is about Haruna’s attempt at having a high school debut in which she tries to reinvent herself by becoming more popular among the boys and finally getting a boyfriend…because in her junior high days she was so focused on sports that she forgot to focus on her image, manners, and anything else girly. And, thus she meets Yoh, who hesitantly agrees to become her Coach in order for her to find love.

The drama is so hilarious. It does a pretty good job of condensing the main storyline of the manga in under an hour and a half, which normally is pretty hard to do…

Yes, the movie is cheesy and over the top…but if you have read the manga you know it’s not that far off from their actual reactions in it.

Yes, it felt rushed at times, but it is a movie of a 13-volume storyline so yeah , I forgive them…like I said, the main plot was there so it was ok.

I admit, I’m not that great with Japanese actors…or actors in general…but I thought this was an awesome cast….the lead girl was awkward, but then I remembered Haruna is awkward. Yoh’s actor was cute, but then again so were Fumiya’s and Asaoka’s.

I really recommend this drama, it’s good if you want to have some fun for a while and you don’t have too much free time on your hands.

So, to start off I will begin by introducing Leverage…a TNT drama that began to air in 2008.

I don’t know how I missed this for four years, but around June/July I discovered this awesome show.

Leverage is a show about 5 thieves (a grifter, a thief, a hitter, a hacker and the mastermind behind them all) who use their criminal abilities to help people against corrupt, rich people who have wronged them. Yes, it’s a modern twist to Robin Hood…and it is amazing.

The Mastermind is Nate Ford (Timothy Hutton); the Hacker is Alec Hardison (Aldis Hodge); the Hitter is Eliot Spencer (Christian Kane); the thief is Parker (Beth Riesgraf); and the Grifter is Sophie Deveroux (Gina Bellman)…and together they form Leverage Inc….a “legitimate” corporation to help people.

All the characters are great…they all have had an interesting past and their interactions among each other are so fun to watch….of course, my favorite character is Parker. She is just so awesomely awkward and just so cool!!!

Btw, I haven’t watched all episodes…but I’m so happy, the other day I got the first season on DVD…can’t wait to see all episodes.

Bloody Monday season 2 aired in 2008 and it has a total of 9 episodes…again, this is a Japanese drama based on the manga by the same name.

The drama again follows Falcon (Miura Haruma as Takagi Fujimaru) and his unending quest to stop a new terrorist attack utilizing his hacker skills.

The drama is set 2 years after the last terrorist attack lead by J (Narimiya Hiroki)…this time, however, a new terrorist organization is in charge of terrorizing the country of Japan, while J is being held by THIRD-i.

Major Spoilers!!!!!

I gotta say, I really liked this second season…I mean, you couldn’t tell who was friend and who was foe and there were so many twists throughout the whole season…it was awesome…

I really gotta hand it to Narimiya Hiroki-san, he made a really convincing bad-guy-turned-good-to-lie-to-you-and-stab-you-in-the-back character….I really felt pity for him and didn’t want him to die…and when it was shown that he never was sick in the first place…I was like dang you!!! and then they showed him to have done it all for his sis….Really it was great.

It was kinda sad that some good characters died, but then again they were so convincing at being both good and bad…I didn’t know whether to be happy they died or pity them.

I really recommend this drama…and again the OST is ok.

Bloody Monday is based on the manga ,by the same name, that Ryuumon Ryou created. The manga has two sequels, with the third one being the final continuation of this story.

The drama has two seasons Bloody Monday and Bloody Monday Season 2…the first is 11 episodes long and the second 9 episodes long. The drama stars Miura Haruma as Takagi Fujimaru and Narimiya Hiroki as J.

The drama follows Takagi Fujimaru a high school hacker who is recruited by THIRD-i, Japan’s public safety unit, to keep Japan safe from a biological attack. And so, it’s a race against time to stop this terrorist attack codename: Bloody Monday.

The first season begins with a hacker codename Falcon infiltrated a terrorist organization’s cryptic message on a website and thus, uncovered their plans for the destruction of Tokyo. Fast-forward some years, when weird incidents involving dangerous biological dangerous components drag Falcon back into action as the lives of his friends and the millions of people living in Tokyo depend on his hacker skills to survive Bloody Monday.

The drama was cool. The first season had all these mysterious events happening and then the twists of certain people who betray the heroes was just unexpected. I really loved Narimiya Hiroki as J. He was a great bad guy. I really really had fun hating him; he really pulled off being a total bastard.

This was my first time watching a drama about hackers and biological weapons, so I think it was very interesting. It wasn’t so much technobabble or medical terminology, which I liked.

I only had one issue with this season…why did Hosho have to die? She was my favorite character…and she died…I was sad about that…other than that this drama ruled.

The OST was ok. There were some really awesome songs, such as the one whenever Falcon is doing his hacking. By the way, the animation with an actual falcon was so cool. But overall, there just weren’t enough good songs for me to want to get the whole soundtrack.

I hope you like my review and I suppose I should apologize for my delay…but seeing as there are no comments…I don’t know if anyone is even here to read my apology.

It stars Ohno Sato as Naruse Ryo/ Manaka Tomoo, Ikuta Toma as Serizawa Naota, and Kobayashi Ryoko  as Sakita Shiori.

Maou is a remake of the Korean drama ‘The devil’. It aired in 2008, and is 11 episodes long.

The drama follows these 3 characters in a web of lies to unfold the truth about a great tragedy that occurred when they were younger and has affected their destinies to the point of interfering with their present lives.

When a series of murders present themselves, Serizawa’s job as a detective is to stop them, but the resonance between what happened to him a number of years ago, leaves him thinking it might just be a twisted sense of justice as with each crime scene a tarot card is left behind and Naruse is not far behind, as a lawyer giving aid to the murderer’s under the  pretext of self-defense. Shiori is a key witness between the battle of good and evil as she aids with her supernatural power of psychometry in the investigation.

So, this drama is a couple of years old, but it is still one of my favorite ever. The characters are ever evolving and they just suck you into the story.

The storyline itself is very interesting. I’ve never seen a drama like this. I mean, it has suspense, supernatural elements and a hint of romance.

Spoiler Alert

I will talk about the ending. I had very few Japanese dramas before so I didn’t know what to expect when the last episode finally started. I mean, I had watched some movies and they weren’t restricted to happy endings so I was worried.

And of course, my suspicions were dead on. Both main characters, in order to make things right, had to die. I was like nooooo, but yeah. I remember someone was with me, and I was like ‘don’t cry, don’t cry.’

The opening theme was awesome. It’s Truth by Arashi. It was the first time  I’d heard Arashi and I loved it…imagine my surprise when I found out their genre of music…

Also, the opening sequence was cool too.

Overall, the OST was ok…there were some really cool tracks such as the one that was used when Shiori  used her psychometry and of course the track for Naruse’s character.

The Korean drama stars Lee Min Ho as Lee Yoon-sung and Park Min-young as Kim Na-na. The drama is 20 episodes long and it ran in 2011. The series is based on the manga by the same name and its author is Tsukasa Hojo.

The story follows Lee Yoon-sung’s voyage to avenge the people who betrayed his father. He takes a double identity  as City Hunter and in a sinister competition against his father, brings justice to the five men who wronged his father. In the meantime, in his daytime job, he falls in love with Kim Na-na.

Ok, I gotta get it out of my system…Lee Min Ho is hot!! I thought he was hot in Personal Taste, but here….wow!!!

The story is very good…there’s lots of action and drama and just very intense moments…especially the ending.

Spoiler Alert

I had two issues with the ending…

WHY? Why did Prosecutor Kim have to die and in such a gruesome and gory way? Why?

ok, and second we did not get a definite, clear-cut, there’s-no-way-to-deny scene that Kim Na-na and Lee Yoon-sung decided to be together…

The OST is very, very good. My favorite songs are of course, ‘So Goodbye’ by SHINee’s JongHyun, ‘It’s Alright’ by Yang HwaJin and ‘Sarang’ by Yim Jae Beum.

It is a Korean drama, 16 episodes long, starring Lee Min Ho as Jeon Jin Ho and Son Je Jin as  Park Kae In. It ran in 2010.

So the story is as follows: Kae in is the daughter of a famous Korean architect, and she is furniture designer.  Jin Ho is an architect, and in order to win a national contest for a very important project, he wants to base his designs on the house that Kae In lives in. But because of certain circumstances, the house is unavailable to be seen by the public. Kae In, in need of money, decides to rent a room in the house…and thus, through various misunderstandings, Kae In assumes Jin Ho is gay and lets him live in the house.

So eventually, they fall in love and do many things to be together…

I really loved this drama, it was so fun and sweet…however, I did feel the ending was rushed…I mean, the episode before the finale left so many issues to be dealt with, I didn’t think they could have been resolved in one episode only…but alas, they were…

I only had one issue with this…and that was how weak Kae In’s character seemed when faced with the loss of Jin Ho…she completely forgave him and even said something akin to ‘you can use me as many times as you want but never leave me’…and then something inside me broke down and cried….

Ok maybe, there were two issues I had with this drama…the other one was how Director Choi, the only real gay character is left hanging, I don’t know how to say it, but maybe, pushed aside for the ‘true’ romance…I don’t know I mean the story used homosexuality like a joke most of the time, and that was mean to put it nicely…I didn’t feel as much closure as I could have from his story line…

I admit I laughed at the mishaps this ‘gay’ misunderstanding  had with the main characters, but I don’t think real gay people would like being portrayed as a joke or in this case, as disease-ridden human beings…

Yes, I know this portrayal has to do with Korean culture and I understand it, I come from a very conservative culture too…but it just felt wrong

On to nicer things…the OST was nice, it’s not the best I’ve heard, but it was actually good enough to have…

I mean Kim Tae Woo’s  Dropping Rain, 2am’s Like a fool and See Ya’s Touching Heart made this a memorable OST…

Rebelde is a Mexican novela that was filmed from 2004-2006 in Mexico, and from early 2005-2006, it was aired in the US.  The novela was produced by Pedro Damian.

The story is set in a private high school for rich kids, and it focuses on 6 individuals: Mia (Anahi), Miguel (Poncho Herrera), Lupita (Maite Perroni), Giovanni (Christian Chavez), Roberta (Dulce Maria) and Diego (Christopher Von Uckerman).

These six students do the impossible, even defying their parents-who seem like they just dumped their kids in that school- to achieve their dreams of making a band and they do.

Rebelde is a remake of the Argentinian novela by the name of Rebelde Way, but I think Rebelde and definitely the group RBD that came to life through the novela was way more popular not only in Latin America, but also around the world.

So, in the novela the teens get together and make a band, they work together to create music and practice and are trying to get famous. We see this all through the novela; we also see their own struggles with the relationships they have with their parents and how they find love. The novela also introduces typical teen issues such as drugs, and becoming sexually active.

So, from the novela RBD (the group that they form) was born, but in real life they also held concerts and outlived the novela. Here are some of the songs that they made famous.

MARS is a Taiwanese drama that aired in 2004 and is based on Fuyumi Soryo’s manga by the same name.

This drama stars Vic Zhou as Chen Ling and Barbie Xu as Han Qi Luo. The whole drama is 21 episodes long.

Mars focuses on the meeting between Qi Luo and Ling and how together they overcome some of the darkest and most painful scars from their pasts…

MARS essentially follows the manga story to the dot…there are some minor changes such as the high school setting was set in a university, due to the mature content of the story and the characters’ names are changed from Asano Kira to Han Qi Luo and Kashino Rei to Chen Ling…

As I said, there are some strong themes in this drama and they are nicely orchestrated…this is definitely not your typical shoujo drama, it focuses on the psychological scars these themes such as rape and suicide have on the point of view of these two characters and how that affects the way they view their relationships…

The OST is not mindbreakingly awesome, but the theme song is still one of my favorite songs to this day…

It is called Zero and it’s by Alan Kuo…

btw, Vic Zhou is hot!!

Today I will review and definitely recommend the Korean Drama Me too, flower or I am a flower, too

So basically, this drama was aired in 2011 and it follows the story of Cha Bong Sun and Seo Jae Hee played by Lee Ji Ah and Yoon Shi Yoon respectively

The story is about a policewoman trying to become a detective, but because of anger issues, is sent to a psychiatrist and of a rich, young designer who is trying to hide the fact that he’s rich because he sees how people treat him differently when they know he’s rich.  And thus, through each episode we follow these two characters love story and the obstacles they must overcome so that their love blossoms…like a flower!!

Ok, so I loved the drama, it was really fun and short…I like how there’s drama, but not too much and then there’s comedy and of course the romance…I mean seriously, the male protagonist made me hate and love him within the same episode…He’s that good.

The drama is really short, only 15 episodes long. This is one of the reasons why I chose to review this drama…because it’s short and the other reason is because when I was deciding what to review, I was listening to the OSTs for this and the last drama

Which leads me to…the OST…it is awesome. I really recommend it too. Ok, so I’ve been in love with K-pop for about 3 1/2 years and I had never heard of most of the artists in this OST…But that did not stop me from loving each and every song and from getting the OST afterwards…so yes, the only famous idol group in this was B2st or Beast, but the songs are so catchy that it’s all good….

alright so according to my schedule, this week is drama week…so the first drama I will review and recommend will be Yanki-kun to Megane-chan

This drama is a Japanese drama based on the manga of the same name by Yoshikawa Miki. It was aired in 2010 and to this day it is one of my favorite dramas ever…

Don’t they look so similiar? I recommend both

The drama is only 10 episodes long and it stars Narimiya Hiroki as Shinagawa Daichi (last name first) and Naka Riisa(same deal) as Adachi Hana as they venture through their high school years in the company of their friends…

It is a comedy of course and it doesn’t follow the manga exactly and I know fans of the manga argue that it’s not that great compared to the original material…but I found the drama first so yeah…

I really recommend it…it’s really funny and it has its sweet moments…it has action, and undertones of romance too

The only thing I have against it is how they handled the ending…but then again…seeing as how the manga ended, I can’t really argue…

By the way, the OST or original soundtrack is soooo awesome…unfortunately I can’t find it anywhere
