First off, and introduction, Cult Corner is just a little blog I thought I’d put together to bring people all the weird retro things from music, movies, radio, literature, and whatever that are either hard to find, or that are just cool. Cult Corner will bring you a weekly creature double feature every Saturday, and a weird record every once in a while. These will either be a record I transfer myself, or just something cool I find on the web. Every once in a while I’ll do a podcast and give my own little commentaries on things I post. If you’re into this kind of thing, I hope you stick around and follow what I post.

For the first entry to Cult Corner, I bring you Vincent Price in “The Saint.” It’s an old radio crime drama. It’s perfect for hardcore Vincent Price fans like myself.

This episode begins with Ichigo taking a train back home and thinking to herself that she’s

This episode begins with Ichigo taking a train back home and thinking to herself that she’s made all her friends hate her, Vanilla is following her but staying hidden. When Ichigo makes it home she tells herself that she’s got to put on a happy face for her family. Back at the school, Rumi tells the princes that she can’t find Ichigo, and even her luggage is missing. The princes surmise that Ichigo was used to being ripped by Kashino but getting ripped by Andou and Hanabusa must have been shocking.

Back at home, Ichigo is getting treated quite well by her family and even teased by her sister about gaining weight, Ichigo lies telling them that winter break is really early. Ichigo’s mother gets a phone call from the dorm supervisor requesting that Ichigo notify them earlier when she’s going to be absent. Ichigo comes clean and tells them she lied, and Ichigo’s mother figures out that she’s having troubles with her friends.

Ichigo comes clean about not being very skilled, and making too much of being complimented. Ichigo wonders if she’s going to quit the school for good. Her father is very enthustic about having his daughter home for good, but Ichigo’s mother is much more somber. The next day the family takes a visit uncle Hikaru who now runs the shop that Ichigo’s grandmother started.

When they get to the shop they find it closed, and Ichigo’s father wonders if the recession even hit here. Before long, Ichigo’s uncle shows up and they find out that the shop is only closed because he sold out of all his stock in just two hours. He tells them that he just got back from a delivery; he delivers to his customers that can’t make it to the shop. Ichigo asks about the strawberry patch out back, and her uncle tells her that wasn’t his thing so he let it go, poor Ichigo. Ichigo begins to have flashbacks to her time with her grandmother at the shop. Later, her uncle tells Ichigo that he heard she joined St. Marie academy, and he tells her that her skills will improve.

After a little bit of talking, Ichigo’s uncle tells them that he has to get ready to open the shop again, and that Ichigo and Na-chan can help him. Well, Ichigo’s mother says that it’s a great idea and says that she and her husband will take a walk. Ichigo’s uncle puts them to work on various prep tasks, and Ichigo soon discovers Vanilla. Ichigo and Vanilla say their apologies to each other, and they’re back on good terms.

Na-chan tells Ichigo that she seems to be very happy when making and talking about sweets, she shines. Well, after lots of hard work making all kinds of sweets, Ichigo’s uncle says its break time and they can eat all the sweets they want. When Ichigo digs into her uncle’s sweet tart she finds it very good but not like the one her grandmother made. Ichigo asks her uncle about the difference and he tells her that he tried to preserve the original taste but couldn’t figure out the recipe, so the tart is his original creation.

Her uncle hands Ichigo her grandmother’s recipe book and tells her that he never found the key, so he couldn’t read it. He gives Ichigo the recipe book as a gift saying that since he’s completed his own tart he’s sure his mother would be happier watching over Ichigo.

On their way home, Ichigo and Vanilla talk about the tart and Ichigo vows to make one for Vanilla someday. Ichigo tells her mother to stop at any station, and her mother says did she really think that they were headed home. When her mother stops the car Ichigo finds that they’re in front of the entrance to St. Academy, and she tells Ichigo it’s all right to feel depressed but just pick yourself up and more forward and keep repeating until your grow strong.

When Ichigo makes it to the front gate she finds the princes waiting for her, and everyone says their I’m apologies to one another, Ichigo finds out that Kashino was the one who submitted the fake absence notice for her. Well, that’s all for this episode.

Well, this episode was a pretty good example of a “recharge the batteries” episode typically found in this type of series. When young main characters are placed in an situation where they’re greatly outmatched in important skills and have to catch up rapidly sometimes the stress of finding out that just busting your ass isn’t good enough they have a temporary breakdown. When the character in question reaches that breaking point they usually flee back to where they’re most comfortable, home. When they arrive home, the character usually is able to relax and smell the coffee, unwind, get a little good advice from a parent, and rediscover what’s really important.

So, in this episode Ichigo was able to take comfort in the unconditional love of her family, and rediscover her dream of bringing happiness to others through sweets just like her grandmother did for her. I have to say that I really thought that the princes were too tough on Ichigo, for better or for worse, Ichigo is their teammate, and a team is only as strong as their weakest link. In the army when we got a new team member it was our job to bring up the new member’s skill level to our level, and if they’re giving it their all you help their motivation level through encouragement, you never say “wow, you really busted your ass, but you still suck”, you tell them “wow, good job, you’re really improving, but we’re going to make you even better than this with more practice”.

I found the next episode preview to be very interesting; anime writers sure do love themselves some Proust because the preview mentioned that the princes met for the first time at the school and ate Madeleine cookies together. Let me guess, they also had lime tea with those cookies?

Let me just say that this is like my millionth blog since… since probably middle school? I hav

Let me just say that this is like my millionth blog since… since probably middle school? I have been blogging for sometime now, yet never seem to keep my blogs going for a long time. I think the longest kept blog I had was one with wordpress and another with tastyword. I think I deleted all my WordPresses blogs, but not tastyword. I don’t know my password for it, so it’s still kept. Haha.

I came up with this blog for steam. Just to let some thoughts and stuff out of my head. I don’t like to write much, so keeping a journal or diary wouldn’t be fun for me. Blogging seems cool. I like reading what others say. Getting into their heads and all. I also love to type, so it’s like a win win for me.

So much has happened in the last couple of weeks and I feel so lost as to what to do with myself and life. God, this may sound pathetic but it’s true. Let me just say that I am gay. I had.. have(?) this girlfriend of 7 months and she has honestly been the best thing in my life. She makes me so happy and when I’m with her, I know that I can tell her anything and she would never judge me. Never look down on me. Never hold me to something I had done wrong on. So with this said, we have been doing good up until she off and went to college 4-5 months ago. Since then we’ve been going up and down, fighting about money, school, distance, etc. Just this week, things took a turn and we ended up breaking up. Now… on a break, I think? I just don’t get it.
She said we’re on a break because she needs to figure herself out and put her stuff in order. But she doesn’t wish to talk to me or even see me. I don’t get it. She tells me constantly it’s not me, not about me at all it’s about her and how she needs to do this for herself. If this is about her, why do I feel like I’m getting punished?? Why do I feel like I lost her as a girlfriend and my best friend? Why cant she talk to me or see me if this has NOTHING to do with me? It doesn’t make sense. Women… they, we… are just insane in the head and make no sense most of the time. We play tricks with others mind and get our way most of the time… I just want her and I to get better, that’s all.

So since I’m having a hard week with all of this, I decided to hang out with my friend Deana. We decided to go to NY to see her girlfriend. I had a good time, getting out of the house, out of the town, out of the state. Deana on the other hand… seemed to not have much fun at all. It’s cause she felt awkward apparently. As we’re in NY at this pizzeria my friend Danielle had mentioned coming down to Kutztown PA. So I agreed that I’d go. We got back around 10 to NJ. I went home packed as much as I could into my traveling bag and left. I got there about 12:30 in the morning and we didn’t do much. I was hoping to go out and party, but driving through the small and what seemed to me deserted town of Kutztown, PA… of course we weren’t going to go out. There was no where to go. So we just laid in bed watching TV till we fell asleep. The next day we went to her dining hall to then get served with hair in my meal. It was lovely. Later that night hoping to go out and party… guys coming over with alcohol wanted us to pay for it. Danielle and I found it a big ridiculous. We paid anyway, drinking only a cup of vodka… not shot… cup. A big cup. I only got buzzed.

Cutting this all short, I just wanted to say. Kutztown PA is in the middle of no where and I had an okay time wishing to have had more fun, wanting to have gone to Rutgers to party Saturday… we didn’t due to my ex, or not ex girlfriend who didn’t wish to see my face. Anyways, this is the end of this entry. I’m not even paying much attention. Sorry if things make no sense or something. Adios.

Title: An Education
Director: Lone Scherfig
Genre: Drama

I saw this movie… I dunno… maybe 2 weeks ago? I just haven’t gotten around to writing the review for it. And it’s not because it was a bad movie. Not at all.

This was actually one of the films that was shown at the Atlantic Film Festival. Alyssa had gone to see it and said it was really good. She even came with me to see it in theaters again. She felt like it was worth paying to see a second time, so I knew it couldn’t be that bad.

It was wonderful. Carey Mulligan did a fantastic job, as did Peter Sarsgaard. You could feel the connection between the two of them. Sarsgaard in particular was very effective in making you believe that he was a man, who fell in love.

Falling in love with a girl who was half his age. The fact that he was a 30-something male falling for a 16 year old girl didn’t seem like a concern to anyone in the film. The parents weren’t concerned once David decided to propose to Jenny, the teachers were only concerned that by marrying him she wouldn’t be able to then study at Oxford. No mention of the age difference whatsoever. Maybe this wasn’t a big issue in the 60’s.

Jenny’s reasons for falling for a man twice her age were completely understandable. He lived the life she wanted; they went to jazz clubs and classical performances, took weekend trips to Paris with their very chic friends. He introduced her to a completely new lifestyle, feeding her French fantasies, bringing her into a different culture and her womanhood. How could she not fall head over heels for someone who did all of this for her, and to top it all off, loved her as well? She was always the proper student, studied her Latin, did well in her classes. She was an academic, ready to go to Oxford. She had never been taught the lessons you can’t learn in a classroom. Enter David. The life lesson she learned from him was not one she was soon going to forget. It’s a lesson we all learn at some point in our lives, and eventually move on from, hopefully taking with us the important pieces and not forgetting what we’ve learned. It helps shape who we are, and it’s not something you learn from a book.

‘Bad Lieutenant‘, like all good thrillers (or mysteries, or detective stories, whatever

‘Bad Lieutenant‘, like all good thrillers (or mysteries, or detective stories, whatever you wish to categorize it as), is great because the film revolves around the characters. The story is simply what they do, and since these characters are so interesting, we could be watching almost anything else from their life and it would be just as entertaining. That’s the case for Terence McDonagh. Nicolas Cage is the perfect choice for this role, not only because he is a good actor, but because he found the perfect balance here between a confident detective and a man so insanely dependent on drugs that it makes him vulnerable.

The title role claims that Terence is a “Bad” Lieutenant. Using drugs is bad. Stealing is bad. Raping is bad. Extorting is bad. When someone does all of these things, I think it’s time to find a harsher adjective.

Things are set into motion by a handful of murders, which seem, after a few initial investigations, to be forgotten. At the end, one character forgets completely, and by misplacing his trust, will serve quite a bit of jail time. Terence never forgets, though, which seems to be a miracle considering the amount of drugs he takes into his system.

I have seen a few films directed by Werner Herzog, but I’ve definitely not seen enough. What I have seen, I have liked, and ‘Bad Lieutenant’ is no different. It’s fun walking through the twists and turns of Terence’s life. While watching, I thought that the film wrapped up too neatly for a film that was so convoluted, but that is not the case at all. The film’s plot in itself is actually quite simple. It is not about the solving of the murders, but about Terence McDonagh. A film where a detective pushes through with his badge is about the murders. A film where a detective uses his gun as his first form of ID is about the character. This is the latter.

Published by the Jakarta Globe on Friday, Dec 4, 2006 Malik, look what you’ve done to us!” Jasmine c

Published by the Jakarta Globe on Friday, Dec 4, 2006

Malik, look what you’ve done to us!” Jasmine cried out. Malik looked guilty — he knew he’d done something terrible. He tried to speak but his mouth wouldn’t form a single word.

Malik had accidentally pushed a button on the Professor’s teleportation machine. Now the group didn’t know where they were, and the Professor’s face turned pale as he realized the machine was broken. They wouldn’t be able to go back if he couldn’t fix it.

“Where are we?” Nana asked, looking very afraid.

“I think we’re in the jungle,” Ega said, glancing around cautiously. He was amazed by the thickness of the jungle. He saw big trees and weird animals that he’d never seen before.

While the Professor tried to fix his broken teleporter, the children decided to explore the jungle to see if they could find someone who could tell them where they were. While they were struggling through the bushes and dodging jungle insects, they heard a melodic sound in the distance.

“Wait, do you guys hear that?” Nana asked excitedly. They all began running, wanting to find out where the sound was coming from.

They finally came upon a group of beautiful young women in traditional Indonesian clothes. Not only were these women chanting, they were also dancing.

“Oh, I now what that is,” Jasmine yelled to her friends. “It’s an Acehnese dance called saman.”

“That means we’re in Aceh. We’re in Sumatra, guys,” Nana shouted.

In mid-November, Sekolah Cikal, a national plus school, held three days of activities at the Salihara arts complex in South Jakarta. The event was titled “Playground of Andalas” (Andalas is another name for Sumatra).

Besides displaying artworks inspired by the nature and culture of Sumatra, members of the school’s drama club performed a musical of the same name. The characters in the play had the same names as the children who played them.

The cast spent three weeks rehearsing to develop the show, which told the story of a group of children who ended up on the island of Sumatra after they accidentally pushed the wrong button on a teleportation machine invented by their friend, a genius professor.

By the end of the story, which was written by their teacher, the children had shown their audience how beautiful Sumatra is, through song and dance.

Though subjects such as art, drama and music should be part of mainstream education, they are often seen as non-academic and left off the curriculum.

Syanda Kunto, Sekolah Cikal’s project and development manager, said it was unfortunate that theater was not a more popular activity in Indonesian schools.

“Most parents don’t see the connection between studying theater and a child’s future success,” Syanda said.

“Many people are scared to speak in front of others — which is related to their confidence — despite the fact that it’s a very important skill in the work field. Through learning theater, kids can practice that skill in a fun environment.”

Theater is also a way for children to explore ideas and emotions in a safe environment.

“Through theater, kids have an opportunity to act out different roles. They can be a father, a mother, a happy person, a mad person or anything else. By doing that they can express their emotions and also develop sensitivity,” Syanda said.

Rizki Pradana has been involved in the theater club at the State University of Jakarta for nine years. He also teaches drama at several schools across the capital. He said that over the years young people had started showing more interest in such extracurricular activities, and more and more schools and universities in Jakarta now had theater clubs.

Dwi Cahyadi, a playwright from Teater Canvas (Theater Canvas), agreed that many schools in Jakarta had added theater as an after-hour activity.

But both Rizki and Dwi said that, in general, theater was still often seen as only for children who were artistically gifted.

“Most people in Indonesia still see theater as an exclusive world that can only be enjoyed by [an elite few],” Rizki said.

He said that was a misleading perception and in many other countries people embraced the theater as entertainment everyone could enjoy.

To counter the attitude here, Dwi said it was important for schools to introduce drama and theater as soon as possible to their students.

“We need to familiarize our children with theater as early as possible,” Dwi said. “By letting the kids learn about theater as early as possible, they can see that drama is another exciting activity, like sports and music. Who knows, some of them may grow up to become Indonesia’s next generation of famous playwrights, actors or actresses.”

He added that participation in theater programs could improve children’s intelligence and teach them to be more creative by letting them play different kinds of characters.

Syanda said that theater also helped children develop other talents and skills. “Through drama, children can improve their confidence by practicing talking and acting in front of many people,” Syanda said.

Jasmine, 10, is in the 5th grade at Sekolah Cikal. She has been in the drama club for more than three years and acted in “Playground of Andalas.” She said she joined the club because she wanted to build her confidence, and that she enjoyed participating in theater because it allowed her to explore many different characters.

Jasmine said the things she found the most challenging were trying to portray emotions through facial expression in her acting and memorizing dialogue.

Rengga Radwifa Pradityo, 10, another drama club member, said he used to be very shy, but through his involvement in theater he had gained the courage to speak in front of people. He said his confidence has increased and he now participates more actively in classes at his school.

Besides directly learning things such as public speaking skills, Rizki said that theater could be used as a bridge for students to learn other things, such as language skills.

“Some of my plays are in English, so by practicing drama my students also learn how to speak English with confidence,” Rizki said.

Arswendy Nasution, the head of theater at the Jakarta Arts Committee, said that it was important for the government to support the theater so that more young people could participate.

Previously, he said, Ali Sadikin, Jakarta’s governor from 1966 to 1977, supported the development of theater by building art and cultural centers in Jakarta.

But that was back during the glory days of Indonesian theater, when such well-known playwrights as WS Rendra, Teguh Karya, Arifin C Noer and Putu Wijaya provided a significant portion of the nation’s entertainment.

It was also before TVs were available in almost every household and soap operas, variety shows and infotainment had taken over families’ evening leisure hours.

“Today, our government doesn’t give enough support to the theater world. Artists always find it hard to get a venue,” Arswendy said. He argued that this lack of funding and lack of visibility for the arts made young Indonesians reluctant to join theater groups.

Arswendy said the government needed to use more than just simple economic facts in making spending decisions.

“Culture is not considered important in this country. And that’s so wrong because culture is actually a very critical investment in every country,” he said.

A great tumbling sound rose from the back alley ways of the city, scattering all creatures that lay

A great tumbling sound rose from the back alley ways of the city, scattering all creatures that lay in its wake. Trucks and construction vehicles evacuated to the safehavens of their far off garages far off into the second ring of the city. Relentless tears of the sky made every inch they traveled more dangerous than the last, even with the heavy vehicles firmly on the ground as they were. One wrong move could spell disaster for far too many.

By the time they had evacuated, the events that were about to unfold still lay thirty minutes away. In that old, dusty tavern a murder of a young woman brought not fear and paranoia to its patrons, but rather the curious interest of one. Now that the crew had vacated the area across the street, it was open for anyone to check inside, and that is what this man dressed in a green raincoat decided to do.

Still in the midst of a violent thrashing of the winds and rain he remain rather calm in his movement until he reached the end of the sidewalk. With a firm plant he stood, gazing across to the fog covered buildings ahead without a trickle of emotion grazing his face. The brick building lay ahead, not fifteen steps across, but he waited.

In the full thrill of the tempest it seemed as if his body turned to stone. Not a movement came from him except the expansion of his chest as he breathed in the sharp and flowing oxygen from around him. After about half a minute or so of remaining still, his foot finally rose to begin the tread across the slick path. Before it lowered though, the sheen of a headlight illuminated in front of him.

The man’s legs straightened out again to be fully on the sidewalk as he watched the car creep by. A beige colored Concord made its way inch by inch on the disastrous street. Black and red windshield wipers banged like the beat of a heavy drum against the glass guarding the car. For a moment the timid, young driver looked up from the car to eye the observant man until he continued on and out of sight through the fog.

Now drenched, the man sighed at the slow moving annoyance. This time, without a pause, he began to briskly walk across the street with no more hesitations. Every step even for him was difficult, feeling his heel twist madly against the asfalt road and nearly bringing him to the ground. Stationing a strong left foot onto the unforgiving surface, he persevered and charged forward but at the same pace he had been going.

With a final heroic step, he climbed his way up to the clearly to high sidewalk and grabbed a lightpost thereafter. Although not completely conquered by the fierce lash of Mother Nature, he couldn’t help but breath heavily in relief of something to hang on to. But his rest was not for long, knowing that time was scant in his search. Sliding his hands off the pole to turn to the brick building, his eyes began to take in his surroundings.

Signs were unorganized around the building, keeping its claim as a construction sight. Many of the signs warned that passer-bys should not come near or that construction was in progress. There was no showing of this however, for the men had left due to the horrible weather conditions.

Another thing he observed were that the signs were bolted down and were probably not going to be moved in whenever the final adjustments to the building were taking place, suggesting a demolition. This was confirmed as he read a white and orange striped sign that proclaimed, “No use of fire near This Area”. Though tempting, he did not take out the lighter from his left pocket (although it was clearly soaked as well).

Undaunted by the signs of warning, the man in green garb stepped towards the building. At the top of the front doors it read, “Redhern B. Murrow Schoolhouse”. From that statement he;d knew what would be inside, that is if he could get in. There would be many classrooms and stairwells to check, seeing as it was a seven story building and all.

From a window he could gaze inside, though it was a bit obscured by the effects of the rain from in and outside. A rough hand came from his pocket to rid the glass of the smog that obscured it. Inside he saw piles of boxes, not stacked in any particular order. Some of them seemed empty while others were clearly full. Even a few were smashed, suggesting that they had been thrown from the floor’s above.

Other than that he could see a back entrance which led into another short hallway which then had a door to lead outside. Some designs just seemed to follow that pattern of an extra hallway before a final door to exit. He assumed that it had something to do with being able to hang something up in that hallway, but he was thinking far too much.

To the right of his window he could see a staircase that lead up about a third of a story into the air by design. At the top there was a classroom directly to the right of an ascender, and to the left would be another set of stairs. Because of the continual pattern of stairs ahead, the man could not see too far up, instead seeing the bottom of the next set of stairs one could come across.

Everything also seemed very old, taking a sort of thirties spin on a schoolhouse. That must of been the reason why it’s being demolished. Even if you couldn’t tell by architecture, the massive amounts of spiderwebs at every corner where walls met was dead give away. Even the spiders seemed to be scared by the weather, retreating to the back on their webs at the flashes of a lightning strike.

The final thing he could notice from his position was that there was a door that was under the staircase. The masked entry was hard to see, though it looked a little different than the exit way and the school doors above, both of which were solid wooden doors. This door was green, and didn’t seem to lead off into any side building as there were none close enough for that to be the case.

A basement door must be the answer for that, though a basement door wouldn’t help all too much in this investigation. One thing it did give though was a reference point for where the explosions would be place, had they not been set already. As long as he wasn’t a complete moron, the basement wouldn’t need to be disturbed.

Now content in his first overview of the place, he stepped away from the window to the large crimson doors. There was a doorknob on each of the doors, which seemed a bit strange considering the age of the school. With a single turn though he realized it was not yet locked, so that he could make his way in. In a controlled manner he made his way into the schoolhouse, closing the door behind him as another strike of thunder raddled his senses.

((Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed. I’m probably going to do my comic pitch after the third part because frankly, these are long.))

On Thursday, I went over to Ryan’s house. We watched TV and played Scrabble (which is the rout

On Thursday, I went over to Ryan’s house. We watched TV and played Scrabble (which is the routine now) And we got closer and closer and then made out for a little bit (which is definitely not part of the routine) But then I pulled away and I said, “Ryan, I really can’t do this.” I was thinking about how much I really just don’t want a boyfriend right now. I thought I did, but then I realized that I just don’t want to be tied down.I’ve always sucked at relationships.

On Friday, I went over again. And let me tell you, we’re both masters at pretending something never happened. On the way over, I was chatting with Chris (he was walking me there) I could tell he knew what happened, though he didn’t mention it. I can read people’s minds. Besides that, it was a pretty normal visit.

Then last night all this drama occurred. I went to Ryan’s house again. (I do this a lot, don’t I?) and Chris were there again. We played a nice rousing game of Scrabble. Then turn on the TV. (On a side note, I really like routine. It’s comforting for me.)

Then, I don’t know what happened, but Ryan put his arm around me, and we were cuddling, and it was really really cute, and I even liked it

And then…holy shit.

Chris was saying every possible thing he could to piss me off. He was saying anti-feminist things, like “Oh, women shouldn’t be able to leave the kitchen” and that is one of the things that pissed me off the most. Seriously. Insult my hair, my height, or the way I talk, but DO NOT make anti-feminist remarks around me. That is the #1 worst thing you can say. Oh, and he also called me a slut and a bitch, just to top things off.

But the worst thing he said was “Women who don’t listen to their boyfriends should get beaten.” I got so angry I scream at him, “Chris, you’re being an absolute dick!! No wonder you don’t have a girlfriend!” and he says “Watch it, or I’ll beat you, too.” Are you fucking kidding me? He’s threatening to beat me up? What kind of asshole does that?

So Chris was sitting on the couch about ten feet in front of Ryan and I, and we were laying on his bed. So what do we do? We start making out. Really, really quietly. And after a couple minutes, Chris gets up and leaves the room. Ooops. (Sarcasm)

I admit, part of the hook-up was that I was really really pissed at Chris. And I know revenge hook-ups are, as a rule, absolutely terrible, but…I actually really like Ryan. He’s so nice and he’s not pressuring me into doing anything. He never called me a tease for hooking up with him once and he’s been really careful about respecting my boundaries. So yes, we made out for a while, and we even scared Chris away. Two birds with one stone

My mom was coming to pick me up at 11, so I went to wait out on the front porch. And guess who’s there. Chris. This is probably one of those things that only matter to me, but I DO NOT change the way I want to do things because of someone else being a total dick. So I wait on the porch with him. Very awkwardly.

He gives me this look that’s like, I can’t believe what you just did. So I said, “What’s your problem?! I didn’t do anything wrong and neither did Ryan. You don’t own me and I can date whoever the fuck I want.” And he said, “I was trying to make you mad at me so that you would stop being friends with me. I can’t be friends with you if you’re with Ryan.” and I said, “Well, you succeeded, I definitely do not want to be your friend anymore.” And there was a moment of silence, and he says oh-so-dramatically, “Have fun with Ryan.” To which I reply, “I WILL!” and he goes back inside.

I’m waiting, praying for my mom to hurry up so I don’t have to deal with anymore of this bullshit. But wouldn’t you know it, Chris came out to the porch again. He wanted to talk things over. I said something along the lines of, “Look, Chris. You owe me an apology. Actually, scratch that. I wouldn’t forgive you. You were completely disrespectful towards me and you don’t deserve my friendship.”

He said, “Do you know why I’m angry?”

“Well, you feel betrayed by Ryan, because you feel like he chose me over you. You’re also jealous of him, because you liked me first. And you feel like I’m coming in between you and him, and you’re afraid to lose his friendship.”

“Ok, so you can read minds.”

I give him the evil eye, and then my mom pulls into the driveway. I say, “I got to go. Bye.” and leave.
