This church, built in 1647-1652 is looking very typical from outside, but from inside it is not. It is completly painted with allegorical drawings. One can easily imagine that if the sermon was too long or boring, then parishioners were inspecting those drawings. Now You have possibility to do the same via my photos.

Esta iglesia, construida en 1647-1652 parece muy típico de afuera, pero de dentro no lo es. Está completamente pintado con dibujos alegóricas. Se puede imaginarse fácilmente en el caso de que el sermón fue demasiado largo o aburrido, entonces parroquianos inspeccionaban esos dibujos. Cette église, incorporé 1647-1652 parait très typiques de dehors, mais de l’intérieur ce n’est pas le cas. Elle est complété peinte avec les dessins allégoriques. L’un peut facilement s’imaginer que si le sermon était trop long ou ennuyeux, alors les paroissiens inspectaient ces dessins. Happy Thanksgiving! Now that I am stuffed myself, here is a new post to celebrate.

Our fourth drawing assignment was to produce a line drawing of an anatomical diagram showing the location of several organs (of our own selection) relative to surface topography and skeletal anatomy. We began by sketching the surface anatomy of the torso onto tracing paper. On a second sheet of tracing paper we drew the deep skeletal anatomy in registration with the surface anatomy – not an easy task to get it all anatomically correct and in the right place! Finally, on a third sheet of tracing paper, we were to draw two organs of our choice (I chose the lungs and liver because they have an interesting relationship – and of course, they both begin with the letter “l”…). Each drawing was scanned into Adobe Photoshop and together, made into a composite print. Now, I realize this sounds quite simple, and at first I thought so too… and then a *great* many hours later, here is what I came up with:

Alright, so I’ve been meaning to write this one for a while. I’m to tired to put the drawings in order, sorry. It has been a very good Thanksgiving and I am tired.

I really like this first fish drawing. It’s got a light green background that didn’t scan in, but I just picture him saying ‘hi there!’

This second one is an ATC for a surreal swap. I’m in a fish mood I guess. I read something about flying fish and this is what came to mind.

I went to a sketch crawl this past weekend. It was pretty cool. I found a very neat little tea house and met lots of other artists. Plus I got to draw for two hours which was very nice. This is the website to the idea of sketchcrawl: http://www.sketchcrawl.com/index.html

It was hosted by Utrecth so I got some cute erasers and a pencil for going. I hope they host more of those because I really did have fun.

This is the second page I did on my sketch crawl. I was trying this idea out for my surreal swap, but I haven’t refined it yet. I still really like the idea of fish swimming in a window with a sky for a background. I think I will play with this idea for a little bit longer.

One of my other challenges was a cute robot swap. It  was harder to draw a ‘cute robot’ then I thought it was going to be. I like how they came out though. I got the dino robot idea from my friend.

I started drawing this ATC but I fell in love with the simplicity of it. So I haven’t finished it, but it is sitting on my desk. It just makes me smile.

Since I am making most of my Christmas gifts I will not be updating my blog unless the recipient have received them…..or I get the time to work on other things besides gifts.

Experimenting with colors and textures

This is my most recent commission.  It is done with conte and acrylics on board.  I was lucky to have a gorgeous subject to be able to work from; once again a Go Home Lake cottage this time on the Musquash River.  Thanks to Jan and Murray for giving me the opportunity to make their beautiful cottage into art. 

Given that neither vehicles I eventually went with – a 1999 Mercedes-Benz Vito 108D and a 2001 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 311CDI LWB – were current models, it was difficult to source manufacturer drawings and dimensions on which to base the plans. So, an ‘on-the-job’ approach should be taken, and many of these drawings are retrospective or mere scribbles. It is advisable to find a way of getting access to a vehicle first – before you buy it or definitely start-building in it – and take measurements if you can’t source them elsewhere. If you have an idea in your head, though, it’s hard to stop yourself from just ploughing in to start.

In planning phase-2 developments for the first van, some photos were taken and made into outline drawings – on which ideas could be scribbled out. The icon to the left links to drawings, the far right are ablank setfor the Vito (the latter are also here as a powerpointfile).

Due to model variations, measurements taken are precise to specific vehicle, but are listed here for reference.

If you’re going to fit a water systemand power system, you also need a lot of planning – not just in terms of what you need, but where it will all fit in respect to your cupboards, etc. The following is a useful article on considerations you should keep in mind during the planning stage. You’ll also find a lot of helpful assistance in the SBMCC forums and in ‘the’ book.

Skull drawings started about 6 years ago.  In 2001 on a family vacation we went to Paris.  In the Catacombs, we bonded. For me the image of 4 skulls is our happy family. Kitty creeps in and out of these drawings observing the commitment, and love.

All the skull drawings are dedicated to my brother.
