Last night, we walked back to the Dream Center from Angelus Temple after the mid week evening service. We missed the shuttle bus because we were waiting for an opportunity to ask Pastor Matthew Barnett to sign our copy of his book, “The Cause Within You”. Although it was scary to be out at night, God kept us safe.

This morning, we went to visit a family who was new to the Project Prevention Program. We were blessed to have KC as one of our passengers on the trip to visit the family. KC is in her 2nd year of the Discipleship Program at the DC and shared her miraculous story with us. She had suffered from depression and anxiety for many years. Her husband died suddenly only a week after they celebrated their 20th Anniversary and only a few weeks before she was scheduled to attend the Discipleship Program. In spite of these trials and with the encouragement from her family, KC began the program. When she first arrived, she had a very judgmental attitude and did not like people. Today, KC is a completely changed person. She loves people unconditionally and has such a heart for those in need! We were touched by her openness and willingness to share her story with us.

The family we visited has a 4 month and 9 month old baby. We delivered many baby items and began the process of building relationships with them. It was very special because one baby is named Josiah and another Isaiah. The family was very grateful and we were able to spend time getting to know them better. They also attended the Thursday evening worship service for the first time. The Church made such an impact on them, they said they will continue attending. Before we left, we were able to pray with them.

In the afternoon, we met up with the kids staying on the Family Floor of the DC and had a play date with them. It was a time of soccer kicking, football throwing, pyramid building, storytelling, bubble blowing, chalk drawing, hula hooping and scavenger hunting. We had an awesome time loving them!

Our family was given an amazing tour of the Dream Studios and saw the operation of the recently launched ministry, “The Worship Project” – designed for worship teams to experience the outreaches that the DC provides while being able to record a professional quality CD. Worship teams can work with the production team at Dream Studios which have produced several top 10 Billboard singles. For more information, email: studio@dreamcenter.org.

Being at the DC today, we could sense the excitement and anticipation of the Back To School Bash where 2000 backpacks stuffed with school supplies will be given away to children in preparation for another school year. There will be a petting zoo, clothing distribution, slime mobile, waterslide, games, food, haircuts, dental and health screenings. Canopies were being set up and areas were being cordoned so that teams could continue transforming the parking lot. The DC was able to partner with community businesses to sponsor this free event. Our family will be there bright and early tomorrow to assist in this annual community outreach!
