Losing some weight is possibly not a tough project. In fact with diets that actually work, you can lose a fantastic deal of weight pretty fast. Nonetheless, you might have to contemplate two important things carefully prior to selecting dieting.

Can you sustain the wait loss with the diet plan involved and can you continue with the diet for a lengthy time of energy? Some very rigorous diets that work at the beginning are impossible to stick to over time and are as a result not extremely useful. Are you becoming unhealthy from your diet? If you are becoming unhealthy, the time is correct you need to do some study on diets that work and come across a healthier choice.

You can locate an ?ocean? of data on diets. It really is possible to access this info free of charge sometimes nonetheless , you need to spend some money to obtain info on some other diets that work.

The huge real question is for that reason how can you recognize that ?elusive method? that may leave you both slim and healthy in the short and in the future? You could find a great deal of diets that work for month or two but discovering diets that strike the right balance between weight loss and healthiness may possibly not be so easy. You might have to read and do a big amount of study before you discover what you really are looking for. You could have to go by way of various books, DVDs, videos and articles to learn what you really are searching for. Comprehend that you aren’t merely attempting to find diets that work. You might be searching for the diet that is most effective for you.

You should initial analyze your present scenario first. For instance, for people who are severely overweight diet plans that really work will change from those people who are marginally overweight. For that reason you should do a realistic evaluation about yourself and take your overall shape under consideration. A pregnant woman cannot follow directions given for regular women without endangering herself and her baby. These kinds of things should be taken into consideration and individuals with medical conditions must consult their physicians before attempting to go after diet programs that actually work.

How do you make specific you don?t ?go over a rampage? and via away every one of the good work in one day’s gluttony? This is an important thing that some rarely take into consideration. Diet plans that work are the ones which are followed constantly. The mental preparation part thus remains extremely essential. You ought to try everything feasible to self motivate to stick in your plan. Obtaining the aid of friends is probably not a poor concept whatsoever.

People sometimes complain that diets that work for other men and women do not work for them. They say that though they eat salads they continue to put on weight. It is because they usually add high calorie food sauces etc. with their meals.

Diet plans that work have been developed by experts. Don’t modify them to you.

Have you ever started a new routine? A new job with a new commute and new co workers and a new boss

Have you ever started a new routine? A new job with a new commute and new co workers and a new boss and new tasks. In the beginning it s all so…evident. Like you are SO aware of everything going on. But after a while it all sort of fades into the background and the happenings of everyday life take over the forefront. And life just becomes life again.

That is how the last 3 weeks have been with starting on journey to my Level 10 Results, starting my nutrition program designed specifically for my goals, starting new workouts, etc. There was a LOT of thinking involved those first few weeks. And honestly, it was hard. Not hard to do really because the plan is so simple, but much like starting a new job it required a lot of though. Writing down and preparing all my meals and snacks in the morning. Making sure I was hitting my protein requirements, eating enough calories, getting in my water, taking my tablets took a lot of thinking. Because it was NEW. But now, 3 weeks into it I have found my stride. I have lost 8lbs so far and I can feel myself getting stronger. I think less about it every day as it all becomes habit. Its fading into the background and life is settling into being life again.

A quick note:

I am excited to see my new found agility over the next 90 days as the rest of the 30 lbs drops off. And for those of you who have said “Well Krissy, you don’t need to lose 30 lbs.” Here is my response A) Thank you for the compliment but I didnt ask your opinion of what my best version of me is and B) Go pick up a 30lb weight and think about skating around with it and trying to play derby. Then put it down and imagine how much easier skating would be with that weight off. Its not about being societies version of “fat” or “skinny.” Its about being the best athlete and best version of myself that I can.

Bottom line is I want to be stronger, faster, better and dropping some excess pounds is part of the process. I have a verison of myself that I would like to be…for me to feel even more cofortable n my own skin…not for you or anyone else. We have this stigma about weight loss, especially in the derby community of “we love all women of all sizes so fuck you and your weight loss” but heres the thing. WE DO LOVE ALL OUR WOMEN OF ALL SIZES. Period. And some of our choices to lose weight should not be taken as anyone passing any judgements on anyone else. But for some of us, we feel that being a high level athlete means dropping body fat and adding muscle to be better on the track. It is just as important to value someones commitment to improving as it is to value someone for wherever they are at as long as they are happy with themselves.

SOOOOOO……

Because I am so committed to reaching my Level 10 goals and in a year doing this Bikini Contest AND going to 2013 WFTDA Nationals (yes i know 2012 hasn’t happened yet but I am already planning ahead!) I didnt want to fuck it up this time. In the past I have gone forward on a new mission and just kind of flake out. Yes like many of my clients who have started on a plan then disappeared, I have done this over and over for the last few years. Mostly because I didnt have a coach to coach me and keep me on track. I have the easiest/best nutrition program in the world and all the education I need to be successful and yet, I would fall off. So whats the difference this time? Why will it be different?

1) Coaching- I have hooked up with Noreen Juliano who is coaching me to my Level 10 goals.

2) Accountability- I am publicly documenting my journey with videos, facebook photos, blog posts, etc because I want all of you to call my ass out! Talk about some accountability!

3) Partner in Crime- I am hooking up with a few ladies with my same goals and we are all locking arms to support eachother.

4) A simple plan- A long ass time ago I lost about 20 lbs in a very very unhealthy way. And I remember my teammates telling me I looked anorexic. Afterwards I proceeded to gain back the 20 lbs plus 20 more…then I became a health coach and I have been “meaning to lose the weight” for about 3.5 years now but just never committed to it. So everytime I go about losing weight I over complicvate it. This time I am sticking to what I know works. Sticking to my herbalife program properly, eating clean around it, and damn it, We are gonna get this thing done!

So follow me on my journey, join me if you want to, check my blogs from time to time, and for god’s sake call my ass out if I dont follow through!

I am an action person. I am an idea person. I am a start things person. I definately dont have a hard time getting things I want started in my life but traitionaly in the past I have found that keeping anything going over a long period of time was not my forte. And this is still something I work on. I get allllllllll these great ideas and I get fired up and put them into action then “Look Squirrel!” and, BAM, Im off in another direction. You may have noticed this if you’ve followed my blog for any considerable amount of time over the last ohhhhhh 3 years.

I am excited to say, however, that today I finished something!

10weeks ago we were blessed to have Bonnie Thunders and OMG at our ACDG practice showing us a thing or two about a thing or two. In passing she mentioned that she pulled a few drills from some football SPARQ training on the Nike website. That night I went home and was delighted to find an entire 8 week football pre-season training program on there! Three days a week of power lifting, ladder drills, sprints, and pretty much any other kind of torture I could have asked for.

The next morning I come parading into Evolve gym where I proudly announce to my trainer Brad that I am going to do all 8 weeks of this program and he gets to torture me through the whole thing. Anytime Brad gets to inflict pain on someone he gets excited. I am pretty sure he pulls wings off bugs and kicks puppies for fun.

I think I see some abs in there, ya?????

So we embark on this terrible yet amazing process. As always I got about 75% of the way through it and started already thinking about new projects. Another half marathon, new lifting routines, yoga. But I kept reminding myself that I was finishing this. And with a few ups and downs and minor set backs I am excited to say that we finally finished this bitch today!!!

Brad even made me this ummmmm official looking certificate. LOL.

Thanks to my amazing Herbalife Nutrition Program and SPARQ, I am down 5% body fat, can bench 115lbs 5 times, squat 190-205lbs, and have added, strength, agility, and lean body mass! Now that all the T’s are crossed and the I’s are dotted and I have done all the ladder drills in the land, its time to embark on a new project!

Got up, worked out with Brad at Evolve gym It was my second to last day of SPARQ training! Today was a busy day! Josh, Ron and a few other coaches were in the club today. It was great energy and so awesome having them all here. Its great to love the people you work with! Between training new coaches, checking in on clients, and getting ready for the new Derbalife challenge its been quite a non stop day! I did however take a few hours to go paddling with my old friend Andi who I havent seen in like 3 years. Awesomely enough, she joined the last Derbalife challenge while she was stationed in South East Asia and I coached her remotely. She lost 25 lbs in 8 weeks on her Herbalife Nutrition program during the challenge! It was fun to have her in town and to catch up. We went paddling with my new friend Addison. It was a pretty awesome time. Old friends, new friends, and attempting to do yoga on paddle boards. Epic! Then back to Active Nutrition to chat about business with Andi and get some more work done and now off to roller derby practice!

I am so stoked on life right now! Not only did kick ass at my nutrition program ALL of last week but I also lost 3 lbs last week putting me 6 lbs away from my goal AND I felt amazing running around in my bikini all weekend. We made yummy healthy food and I didn’t totally kill my nutrition program over the weekend either which was a major success. We grilled about 40 bs of meat! Piles of meat and veggies!!! Life is gooooooood!

I am so grateful to have such amazing people in my life. I love my Herbalife Team. To have friends and business partners that are as excited about helping inspire people to get healthy as I am. To be around such powerful, driven people who love to work hard and are passionate about helping build other people up to their potential as well. It made me really clear on the type of people I am looking for to join my business. People that really have DRIVE. People that are FUN to hang out with. People that know there is an amazing opportunity with Herbalife and are willing to LEARN how to build a business.

By the end of the weekend I was itching to get home and back to work again. Its funny how when you love what you do, there is only so much vacation you can take before you are ready to get back to work! That is when you know you truly love what you do!

We didnt win our game on Saturday against WASATCH and when I left I was pissed. Frustrated with myself, mad for getting mad, let down that I couldn’t stay in a damn wall, vowing to quit roller derby because I just suck at it (you know you have been in that silly place before too)…This all lasted about 5 minutes before I had a long talk with my self. “Kristen, everything that happened out there means nothing unless you learn from it. You dont suck at derby, you just have to be better at it. You are not quitting because that would kill you. You just have to be better.”Sigh. Ok. Its true. So today I woke up feeling driven. Driven to play smarter, be more disciplined on the track, to not lose my cool in the box and….not yell at the refs…. Although I am not entirely sure how to break myself of that habit….I yell at them before I realize I am yelling. Lol. I worked out today with purpose. Imagining my self getting stronger, faster.

Over all this day just kicks ass. I feel focused in life and business and derby. I met with my client Joy today who is down 2 lbs in her very fist week and has increased her energy AND her sons LOVE the formula 1 shake as a quick meal before their sporting events. We chatted about snacking options and low carb tortillas (my new fav!). It made me feel really good to know I am helping her and her entire family on the road to a healthier life.

We do a lot of the same stuff everyday! I have been reading a book on habits and typically when I think of habits I think of bad habits like biting my nails, eating when I’m nervous, sweari

ng like a sailor, etc. But really my life is full of all kinds of habits. Good ones like working out every morning, drinking tons of water all day, having a shake for breakfast, not eating fast food. There are also what I think of as invisible habits like my morning routine roll out of bed, brush teeth, wash face, get dressed…in that order every time. Its weird by my entire life seems to be made of of the same things over and over.

But at the same time, my life today is vastly different than in was -10 years ago. Some things were the same, up-teeth-face but other things were complete opposite. I used to grab a ham and cheese croissant every morning for breakfast and a rock star at the 7-11 on my way to work. Getting home at night was followed by beer and junk food. Sunday mornings i was so hungover ususally that more been and an ordered in pizza was the only solution. I smoked. I didnt workout……I know its kind of hard to believe.

So what happened? My priorities shifted. I started associating myself with healthier people. I joined roller derby. Its funny to look back at photos of my first roller derby fund raiser and see a back of camel lights tucked in my knee high sock. But as I fell in love with derby I fell in love with the drive to improve. I started going to the gym more so that my endurance was better. I quite smoking. I drank less because we had sunday practice and I didnt want to be hungover. I started eating better because it made me feel better on the track.

So today (and everyday) I am grateful for Roller Derby. I am grateful for the women who revived our awesome sport. I am grateful for everyone who does all the behind the scenes work to make every bout around the world happen. I am grateful for the people who pushed me to make me better. I am grateful for the the friends I have found, those sisters who have your back on and off the track. I am grateful for the all refs and NSOs and announcers. I am grateful to every skater who has taken a chance and let me coach them to improve their game and their habits. I am just so grateful to be part of this random, amazing world of Roller Derby.

Its a beautiful day! I am feeling good. Had a shake this morning then went and worked out with Brad at Evolve Gym. I am in the last 4 sessions of SPARQ training. its been fun but I am kind ready to be done with power lifting and 40 yard sprints for a while! Grabbed a rebuild strength after my workout and headed into the office! Our kitchen at Active Nutrition is FINALLY DONE! It feels good to have this place up and running finally!

Not too much on the schedule for today so I am going to go paddling with my friend mike and enjoy some water and sunshine.

Looking for a good lean meal? I am obsessed with steamed broccoli and boiled chicken with Indian curry sauce on it with 2 low carb tortillas. Its a high protein, high fiber healthy meal!

I’ve been using the photo diet with clients for at least 3 years. This is the best and quickest way to get results with dieting I know of. I’m currently developing a website service for this unique way of dieting. I’ve been searching recently and I’m surprised no one is using it extensively. I use the photo diet all the time to coach people to lose weight, drop body fat, and get leaner and to help have more energy and endurance in sports.

I’ll explain the details of the service and the different packages available closer to the launch of the website.

“The photo diet is much more effective and quicker than other methods I’ve tried. Everyone I’ve mentioned it to has been surprised and impressed by it.” Scott

I got up this morning a little sore from practice. There was a kitten curled up around my neck and the Fonz at my feet. My bed was warm. BUT I got up. Slapped on my new running shoes, said Hi to Wrecky, the best neighbor and friend ever, and took to the street. I kept saying “2 miles out, 2 miles back.” When my runkeeper notified me I hit mile one i was like “ok half way to half way!” I hit 2 miles, feeling loose and I turned around ti head back. For those 2 miles I focued on 2 things 1) How amazingly blessed I am to be running on the boardwalk next to the beach on a sunny Wednesday with glassy waves crashing yards away. 2) Passing people. I focused on who ever was up ahead n the boardwalk and just focused on speeding up just enough to pass them without disengaging my core and losing my form. When I hit 4 miles I had already dropped my pace from a 9min 45sec pace on Monday to a 9min 16sec pace today!

Its these little things in life that need to be appreciated. It is SO easy to get lost in what isnt working, what’s not going the way you planned. We focus on whats going to happen this weekend or later today instead of whats happening right now. Instead of looking at all the wonderful things each of us have going for us. You have them, I swear.

Tony Robins does this activity where he has you look around the room and find everything red. o ahead and do it….right now….look around and find all the red stuff….Did you do it? Now tell me, without looking, what you saw that was green. Hard to think of much? Now look around, I bet there is tons of green things you just didn’t notice them because you were focusing on the red things. What if all those green things were the small victories in your day, the little things your accomplish that you could pat yourself on the back for? And what it the red things were all the negative things? What if you spend more time finding those green things and less time thinking about, talking about, resenting the red? You wont believe the change it will have in your life. It did in mine. I focus on the green things now, I find the small victories like getting out of bed and I high five myself for them, and you know what? It feels good.

Well Kids, its time to slap on the running shoes again! I have registered for another race and I am

Well Kids, its time to slap on the running shoes again! I have registered for another race and I am out to kick my last 1/2 marathon time in the ASS!! In March 2010 I ran my first half marathon with a time of 2 hours and 9 minutes (a 9min 52 second pace)… and skated an all star game that same evening I might add.

While there is NO game on February 4th 2012, there will be me…running like the wind down PCH in Huntington Beach….and putting my old time to shame. This year I am going for under a 9 minute pace. Declaring that makes me a little nervous but, as with anything in life, if you aren’t uncomfortable, you aren’t playing a big enough game.

Over the next 95 days you can follow my progress through training, nutrition, and lots to random stories about me and my life as I use our Derby hiatus to really put the new Herbalife 24 line to the test.

I actually started running again yesterday and my butt and legs were SORE today. I didnt think it had been that long since I had run last…. 8 miles 3 weeks ago and before that it had been a few months. http://runkeeper.com/user/KristenAdolfi/activity/58209424

A little tip: DONT GO DO AN 8 MILE TRAIL RUN THE DAY BEFORE A GAME WHEN YOU HAVENT BEEN TRAINING FOR RUNNING! Ooops…I could barely walk on game day 3 weeks ago. At the rink in San Jose Coach asked if I was ready for the game and I winced and mustered up my most confident “No, problem coach.”

So yesterday was the unofficial start of my training. Next Monday will be the official start of my training as my oh so awesome running coach and the man who inspired me to even start running in the first place, Jason Dendy, has created a run schedule for me that will take me up to race day. I imagine it involes 3 runs a week, a short, medium and a long run. I will post my times and run keeper logs on here as well.

I also got new running shoes today. I figured that if I could feel every rock and pebble that I stepped on in my old ones it may be time for an upgrade so I got these sweet kicks! Mine are the yellow and grey ones.

Transitions in life are a lot like learning transitions on the track. There is this weird blind midd

Transitions in life are a lot like learning transitions on the track. There is this weird blind middle part of your change in direction where things can either end terribly wrong or be seamlessly completed. This moment of feeling out of control is, I think, is one of the hardest things about changing your direction both in life and on the track.

I am in total transition right now. On the verge of moving from LA to OC. I have already started to settle in OC. Business wise, I am establishing an awesome coaching team down here and we have a ton of amazing things happening (great new leadership, boot camps, weightloss challenges, a nutrition club opening soon, a great gym, an indoor soccer arena) but I’m not quite all the way there yet. Same with derby. I am officially an OC roller girl and I am LOVING skating with these ladies but I am still commuting and getting to know everyone. Its like my life is in the first step of a transition right now. One skate is facing in the new direction but the second one hasnt quite left the ground yet to follow.

Its an exciting and scary place to be and it is a test of strength and desire that I am excited to take on.

I am feeling more now like a leader in my business than ever before. I’m excited to be supporting an organization of passionate, excited, smart, wonderful people who are taking back their own lives and finding freedom outside of the 9-5 life. Being your own boss kicks ass but leading others who ask for your guidance and trust your mentorship is a whole new level of responsibility. I love it. It is SO freeing to know that anyone, anywhere, anytime can choose to leave the beaten path..and I can show them how to be successful at it.

Today is an amazing day! I am so fired up about banked track coming to Orange County. I feel like I played a great game this weekend. I LOVE my new league and team. I love what I do. I am just so in love with everything right now! Good thing you arent here or I’d probably be hugging your face off!

“If you dont produce you wont be happy” Jim ROhn

Its so true! How many of us have had a job where you just went, were a body in a chair for 8 hours, got your 8-10$ an hour and just went home. Its aweful. I lived for the weekend. Now between derby and health coaching, I feel like i am creating something. I have projects to work on. I am opening up a nutrtion club in Huntington Beach in the next two months with my awesome OC coaching team. We are building this thing together. Its fun and challenging and frustrating and scary and and and and ….but its amazing and it makes me feel alive. To create.

Wow what an amazing weekend this past weekend was. OCRG took 2nd to Bay Area. I was SO SO proud of my girls. It was fun to watch but SOOOOO hard to just WATCH! I have found that apparently I watch roller derby the same way that I play Super Mario Cart. When I want the jammer to duck, I duck. When I wan a blocker to hit, I lean sideways. I cant wait to get back into contact.

If I dont get to hit someone soon I am probably going to ….well…hit someone…

Its always so fun to watch derby tournaments. Its such a nice switch from what I’m used to for the last few years. LA was all about production value and fans and so much other fluff (and of course good derby too) that sometimes it was easy to lose track of the baiscs. I love these tournaments becuase its just derby. Lots and lots of hard hitting, fast skating, great derby. Food wise, traveling can be tricky if you dont plan ahead, plus there is always yummy but less than stellar things to eat at these events. You dont want to feel like your depriving yourself but at the same time its good to be aware so youre not just eating crap all weekend. The key is to find balance. If you are skating, this is especially important because corn dogs an hour before you game is going to drag you down for sure!

Saturday consisted of: shake, protein bar, shake, pulled pork and kettle corn, hot and sour soup/lettuce cups/chicken veggies and rice/shotglass of chocolate mousse

Sunday was pretty much the same

shake, protein bar, chocolate from Quazillas table (we tried to conver him to tablets and protein bars and lift offs), pulled pork for lunch, kettle corn, shake and trail mix for dinner, small late night salad

A lot of times I will talk about being the best you. But what about the rest of the world? Its all fine and good to make yourself awesome but the real impact comes from what you to help other people be awesome too. One of my favorite parts about what I do as a Health coach and as a mentor to other Health coaches, is I get to help people see themselves as better than they are. What are you doing to help your new girls get better? Who are you going to impact at practice tonight? Who can you help be better today than they were at the last practice?

I’ve decided to revive the Hotter In Your Hotpants blog for yet another fun little count down. Posting all my goals and activities keeps my ass accountable and from the comments I’ve recieved in th past, aparently its pretty helpful to some of you all too!

48 days! Thats all I have. My friend Laura and I are getting our asses into sweet shape for Extravaganza. We figure if we’re going to rep Herbalife all over Los Angeles and the rest of the world, we better look the part! I am shooting to lose 10 lbs I suppose but really its more about getting lean and toned. I want to build speed and endurance too. Thankfully we are running the Derbalife Skate Faster Chellenge right now and I have about 100 girls to keep me pumped as we all work together on our speed.

Food Log today!

7am protein drink mix 220 cal, 30g protein
30 min elliptical
8:30am bomb ass herbalife shake (cafe late with 1 scoop protein drink mix) 200 cal 24 g protien
9:45am 1/2 an avacado, herbalife soup mix 225 cal 17.5 g protein
