Bravo’s brand new show, Launch My Line hosted by designers and twin brothers Dan & Dean Caten of DSquared2, will be premiering tonight at 11pm on the hit station. For all you wondering, “what the heck is a Launch My Line?”, here is some background info on the show:

Ten well-known professionals, who are highly regarded in their own field of expertise, are paired with ten established fashion experts. The ten teams are put to the test, as they have to rely on each other’s expertise to produce a cohesive fashion line.

For their first challenge, the teams must create a signature piece for their collection. While some teams hit it off from the start, other teams have to work hard not to hit each other. Tempers flare and the pressure is high as everyone wants to impress the judges and win this first challenge.

In April, Bravo TV piqued my interest when they announced the pending debut of “Launch My Line.”

Then I really paid attention when they said the show would feature Dan and Dean of DSQUARED2.

Yes, it’s fairly obvious that this is Bravo’s response to Project Runway’s epic move to Lifetime.

But a part of me feels like “Launch My Line” may wriggle its way into our Wednesday TV-watching habits after it debuts December 2 at 11 p.m. ET/PT.

WHAT THEY WORE (apart from the obvious – too much black!):

• Salma Hayek went for a black Gucci asymmetrical gown and totally rocked it
• Daria Werbowy opted for a casual model-off-duty look; I would not be surprised if her tag reads DSquared2 (who came along to the party)
• Gwyneth Paltrow really stood out in a nude Donna Karan Spring 2010 one-sleeved gown
• Sweet but not-so-innocent Miranda Kerr wore sleeveless Burberry, which by the way could have been shorter… much shorter
• Jennifer Aniston did what she does best – wore a super safe Celine dress *yawn*

Katsui graduated from Central Saint Martins College after studying at Parsons The New School for Design. Yagi graduated from Doshisha University and Central Saint Martins College.
The brand, mintdesigns was launched in 2001. They have been in Tokyo Collection since ‘03 S/S. The awards they won include the Moet et Chandon New Designer’s Award in 2005. In 2007, mintdesigns garage store opened in Shibuya PARCO. They presented their collection in the 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT THIS PLAY! show. In 2008, they presented the opening show at São Paulo Fashion Week for ‘09 S/S. Both designers currently hold positions as guest professors at the Faculty of Art and Design at Osaka Seikei University. In 2009 they presented their collection at the Milano Salone TOKYO FIBER ‘09.Mint Designs turned out a dainty crop of dresses featuring details such as shimmery stripes, textured fabric and quirky graphics. One frock featured a darling print of tiny Charlie Chaplins, while another showcased circular cutouts along the sides.

80s!!!! “The decade that fashion won’t forget”-Style.com

People…you either love it or hate it! Me…I love it!!

This is like the definition of 80s. Leather pants, corset and the bomber jacket. Duh! So 80s! I love DSquared2’s matches. The are so adorable! Like if I ever was to go back to the 80s I would so wear this. It’s kind of rebel meets edgy.

Emilio Pucci really isn’t 80s. But this example really makes it happen. I guess it’s all about the leather pant! haha! Then they have the signature Pucci Print for the top which I could see in the 80s but for the most part I think hippies meet 80s. What do you think?!

Gucci Gucci Gucci! What should I say about this…It’s cute, edgy, and has some kind of flare but I’ve seen better. But how could I say ew to Gucci!

I could totally see myself wearing this Isabel Marant outfit! First I LOVE those shoes! Second I heart that top!! It’s like a little bit babydollish but not because it flares at the end. And Third I really think those pants look super comfy! lol!

Ok so I’ve never really heard of Preen b4 but they got the whole slits with fabric underneath trend all set! It’s a little couple months ago but still cute, you know! It’s very 80s you think!

So I dont usually style men, why, becuase I’m selfish and dont like sharing my style haha, but today I thought I’ll try one post and see if i like the response, so here goes:

Today, I went down to a mall a good, oh, hour south of me, and saw that a girl who worked at the MAC counter at the mall I used to work at is now working down there-and they had the new stuff in beakers! Thankfully, she let me use a 239 and get a few swatches. I did not have time to swatch the Softsparkles or Dazzleglasses/Cremesheen Glasses, so no review on those, but for everything else besides polishes? Review AND swatches.

First up, let us talk about the Mineralize eyeshadows-you know how the trios from last year had a chunky glittery stripe? This year it’s a crescent! Woo! Pretend like it does not exist, though. It’s like Midnight Cowboy Rides Again, but even worse because this is just glitter. If you look past the glitter, however, there are two that are ALMOST at must-have status-Sorcery and Devil May Care. For the most part, though, application of the mono part was very spotty. Oh, if they only had some with tiny crescents!

Blue Sorcery is a light turquoise with a silver crescent. I found that the mono part applied beautifully and smoothly. Sheer? A little bit. This is one of the standouts though of the collection, although if you want this sort of colour in better form Painkiller from the UD Show Pony Box is infinitely better.

Devil May Care is a light violet with a silver crescent, and it is gorgeous. If you want a nice, light purple with a lot of frost, this is it. It’s the kind of colour that goes well with a lot of the different looks that I do, although to me it isn’t exactly rush buy-worthy.

Under Your Spell is decent, but nothing to really write home about. It’s a light yellow-pink for the mono, along with copper glitter, which is to be avoided unless you have a base tackier than UDPP.

Mayhem is decent, too-it’s a brown-toned gold with a silver crescent. It’s not the most pigmented, but it’s still nice. You will want a base with this, as you will with all of them (I recommend Shell CCB).

It’s a Miracle is nothing really to write home about, either. Sure, a “blue-burgundy” is nice…on paper. But really, you’re best saving your money with this. Midnight Madness is the exact same way, although this one is a brown. These are so skippable, you have no idea. Onto the lipsticks!

Pervette is an option in the permanent line, and it is a gorgeous light pink frost. It is not the kind of colour I particularly need, but it fits in well with the whole fairy-tale theme that this collection has taken on.

Surprise Me is a lustre, and I found it to be a lustre version of Vegas Volt-exact same base colour and everything. I did not have VV with me in order to comparison-swatch, but they are definitely similar. If the brightness of VV threw you off, this is a way to try it with less risk and impact.

Total Wow! looks to be a lustre too (I didn’t read the label) and I find it to be a gorgeous everyday colour. Not for me, because my everyday is Show Orchid, but it’s a great berry-pink.

Utter Fun is the standout, bar none. It’s a cherry-pink (very pink-toned red) lustre (there was no label), and it’s great for a “just-bitten” look, or for somebody who wants to ease into reds without going directly to Kanga-Rouge and not passing Go.

In this collection though, the clear winners are the blushes-like last year. Su Perdu Pernatural is a neutral coral, and I do love my corals/orangey blushes. It’s very pigmented, but it’s not overly bright. This is totally rush buy-worthy. Conjure Up, meanwhile, is more of a plum, and plums are a good option for someone who doesn’t want a red or a pink, but wants a little colour to warm the face and contour. This isn’t as rush buy-worthy-but SPP is say, an 8 and Conjure Up is a 7.

Of the polishes, Lucky Number is gorgeous. It’s a very metallic light blue-toned pink, so one that could work for anyone, for all seasons. $$$$$ Yes has been repromoted for the umpteenth time, so at least if this was a holy grail for you, you wouldn’t miss out!

I have nothing but great respect for the major Italian fashion houses, but it seemed like some of them were taking inspirations a little too literally.  At the beginning of the week there were lots of cowgirls and peasant-like dressed models sent down the runway, much of them not exactly “ready-to-wear.”  But by the end of the week I was really blown away by some of the collections!  There were even a number of them where I would have worn almost all of the looks, which rarely happens.  Anyway, once again, here are my faves!  (Please refer to the New York Fashion Week post for commentary on all of the trends seen here! And remember that these can all be translated to Fall!)
